Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casare #115 2-8-16 A Swift and Sudden Visit from the Angel of Death!

Ciao, Peeps.  I'm not feeling peppy or inspired tonight.  As is inevitable in these stories, we have come to a painful parting of the ways between us and a (mostly) beloved character.  The loss colors everything and is one of only two major developments tonight.  More than a recap, this will be an extended introduction for a discussion page.  So, here we are:

First we have Fiorella's finding out she is the long lost daughter of Julieta and Santino.  They are initially shocked and then overcome with joy and relief while Fiorella is devastated.  She pulls away from their attmpts to embrace her and she asks them accusingly, why did they give her away, why did they abandon her?   They are hurt by her rejection but give her space and Fiorella vents these feelings in more depth with Pedro moments later.  With Pedro she cries and rages that Vittorio had no right to keep this information from her; the whole thing feels unreal and what a bitter surprise life has dealt her:  all her life has been a lie!  Pedro wonders what happened to the Dr. who was present at her birth?  He's a very old man now, he must have confused her with Gianna.  Pedro offers his support to her for whatever she needs and consoles her with his kisses and warm embrace.  She begs him and he agrees not to tell Gianna.  Fiorella is afraid her heart couldn't take the shock.

There is an inconsequential scene of Freddie reminding a crying and distraught Pilar that they are friends and, as such, Pilar must protect "their secrets" because if she doesn't, Freddie would become her enemy and that wouldn't serve Pilar, would it?  Pilar reluctantly nods her agreement.

Osvaldo talks to Gael about Augustin.  Osvaldo thinks Augustin is trying to swindle Gael and is only after money.  He suggests Gael get a DNA test and in the meantime don't give Augustin a centavo or do anything else he wants.  Later in the episode Gael goes to Augustin's and tells him he is considering Augustin's offer to take his last name.  Gael says he wants to be sure he is his Dad so he wants to do a DNA test.  Augustin looks stunned.

Our other major development is with Roxana and Joaquina.  Roxi and Benni are still on the outs and she goes out clubbing while he ends up at Augustin's.  Augustin guilts Katia into going with Bennie to find Roxi to explain to her that she and Benni are not messing around with each other.  Roxi gets drunk at the bar, slurring her distress and pain to the bartender.  After some time she is totally wasted and calls her Mom, yes, she calls her "Mom" to come and get her.  Fidel brings Quina down to the club/bar/antro and Roxi finally staggers out to meet her while Quina gets out of the car to go into the bar as sitting and waiting in the car is not an option due to the tight traffic situation.  Roxi and Fidel look up just in time to see Quina get hit by a car.  They did not try to simulate the accident but we get Roxi's blood curdling screams and wails of grief.  We get Roxi clinging to Quina on the stretcher screaming that they not take her Mom away and we get the finality of the white sheet being drawn over Quina's permanently stilled and silent face and we know.

Quina has died.

Back to Fiorella's discovery of her parentage we have the useless and irresponsible Sergio taking Pedro aside for "a little talk" just as Pedro has convinced Fiorella to give Julieta and Santino a chance to tell their side of the story.  Pedro had done a good job of helping her to see that she couldn't judge them and needed to give them a chance to explain and herself a chance to understand.  Sergio insists they talk now so he and Pedro go to the study where Sergio tells the story of the stolen nookie/masquerade boink.  Pedro.  Goes.  Ballistic!  How dare Sergio do what he did and now come telling Pedro that the love of his life might be his sister!  They fought for their love for months, and had finally won the approval of Abuela and now here he comes with this outrages swill!  Pedro's eyes blaze as he demands Sergio not touch him.  "What do I tell her, 'we need to do a DNA test to see if we're brother and sister?'"  Sergio says, no, not in those words.  "So you want me to lie to my wife?"  And just at that moment, Fiorella comes in and asks what they're talking about.  Now it's Pedro's turn to have his eyes filled with tears of rage.  Fiorella insists he tell her what is wrong but just then Roxana's wails of pain send them running out into the living room where they learn the terrible news.

There is a touching scene between Roxana and Eloisa who has come to her room in the employee's quarters.  The room is darkened and Roxi lies on the bed, her slight frame racked with sobs.  She flashes back to the time she and Quina were together reminiscing about their walks in the park together and they sang a nursery song duet; the confession from Quina that she was her mother, the recent shopping spree and impromptu fashion show.  Roxi thinks Eloisa wants to come and enjoy her suffering, to rejoice that her husband's lover is dead.  Eloisa ignores Roxi's attempts to run her away and goes to sit next to her on the bed.

E:  I want you to understand that outside of what happened with Maximo, your mother was an exceptional woman and you are an exceptional woman as well.

R:  Stop lying.  You've always hated me and you hated her from the moment you discovered what happened.

E:  Maybe I never treated you lovingly but deep down I always thought you were the child my husband had with his lover but I never imagined that the mother was Joaquina.  She knew how to keep a secret so that neither you nor Maximo was hurt and she always took good care of you.

R:  Why are you telling me this?  To make my mother's death more painful?

E:  No, I'm telling you so that in the midst of your pain you understand how things truly were.  Quina was my right hand.  Can you imagine how she must have suffered all those years taking care of the wife of the man she loved?  Not everyone could do that.  And she did it because of you.

R:  Stop!  She did it because of me and she's gone because of me, you're making me feel worse!

E:  You're not to blame for your mother's death.  She died because it's one of those stupid twists of fate in life that nobody understands.  It's called accidents.

R:  But if I hadn't called her to pick me up, none of this would have happened?

E:  She answered the phone call of her daughter.  The daughter who needed her.  It's not your fault.  Let me tell you one more thing.  Don't hate yourself and beside our differences which were caused by what Maximo did, you are like a gift given to me by your parents and although I will never be able to take your mother's place, you can always count on me for whatever you need.  Please.  Let me give you a hug.

They embrace and Eloisa goes toward the door.  "We will be waiting for you at the ceremony so we can say goodbye to your mother in the way she deserves."

In the last scene we have the aftermath of Sergio's damning "confession."  He essentially has helped his son become emotionally unavailable to Fiorella at a time when she needs him most, when her usual sunny optimism has failed her, with the revelation that she could be his sister.  Pedro is getting ready for the velorio and is assailed by flashbacks of Sergio's confession and Roxi's terrible shock of Quina's loss.  Fiorella touches Pedro and he jumps.  He says she startled him and he's very shaken by Quina's death.  Yes, Fiorella is shocked, too, and saddened that they had so little time together as mother and daughter.  She tries to give him some of the warmth and closeness he extended to her just minutes earlier but he visibly stiffens and recoils from her touch.  Fiorella is concerned and asks what is the matter with him.  Pedro has withdrawn within himself and can't even meet her searching gaze.

And there you have it, Peeps.  As usual, feel free to correct or expand as needed.  See you in comments.

Well, THAT sucked! Not the wonderfully sensitive recap, Lila. The tragically sad episode. I never expected Quina to die and to go out like that. She and Fidel never even got their romance off the ground. Doesn't look like she could be Gi's heart donor either. Why, Writers?!

LILA, let me hop in here and say Grazie! for the concise synopsis of tonight's episode.
"I'm not feeling peppy or inspired tonight", you say, and yet every major plot point and every emotion was included in your brief summary. Thank you so much.

Joaquina's death was like watching a repeat of "Imitation of Life", the old classic Lana Turner movie. Daughter is ashamed of mother, daughter snubs and humiliates mother, then the mother dies, and daughter is destroyed with guilt. It was kind of Eloisa to go and have a talk with Roxie and offer her help.

(Also, too bad Joaquina was the only person not to have signed up as a heart donor for Gianna.)

Also re: Gael telling Augustin that he wants a DNA test to see if Aug is really his father--"Dude, look in the mirror! You look like his twin!"

Thanks again Lila, you are so appreciated as always!

Vivi we are on the same wave length: waste of a perfectly good heart!

Grazie tanto, Lila. That was Mexican episode #159, no cuts.

As horrific as this turn of events is I think it's meant to be a message to Fiorella to forgive Julieta and Santino. Roxana took a long time to forgive Joaquina (to the point of trying all our patience) so Fiorella should learn this lesson very quickly. She should, if Helloisa could learn the sort of forgiveness it took for her to get to where she is in this episode.

There was a line of Fiorella's which commented on how Santino and Julieta were from money and therefore why did they give her up. She will need to listen to them tell it because the whole class snobbery thing had to be worse in the case of Santino's parents than it has been with Helloisa.

J in Oregon, I've seen and cried at both versions of Imitation of Life and this is a great comparison.

The whole DNA issue here is insane and another example of the writers victimizing a character in order to extend the story. Broadcast time in original run was 4:15 PM.

Good night sweet hearts. This was a very tough episode because they combined episodes 159 and 160 so we had double drama, first with Fiorella and then with Roxana. I agree that Joaquinas death was very heartbreaking even though her character sometimes was not the most sympathetic. Roxana it is not a saint but losing her mother was way too much. Paula Marcellini was wonderful in those so sad scenes, she made me feel pitty for Rox.

As to Fiorella, it is a normal reaction for her to feel anger and resentment to the parents that abandoned her. But hey she has forgiven worst things like being kidnapped.

As to Gael, yeah it is stupid for him to ask his dad for a Dna test but this was more Osvaldos idea because he doesnt want to accept that his mother cheated his so lovely daddy and thinks that Agustin only wants to take money out of Gael. And you know, Gael always ends up doing what Ass says.

Well, Lila you did so well in recounting this episode, and quite an episode it was.

I didn't like where this took us. I feel so sorry for Fio, being emotionally yanked around like that. Her feelings of abandonment are quite true for the situation she is in. This is exactly why adoptive parents should be honest with their adoptive offspring early on. Yet even that will not be enough for the child to not feel the sting of abandonment. Later, after maturing and having been through some life experiences, the adopted child can begin to understand things better, I think.

Quinn going out like that was just a disaster for Roxy. That certainly cut off the budding relationship they were developing. I was surprised at how supportive Eloisa was. She has really turned the corner for me.

Glad to hear from Fidel that all the security equipment is up and running.

Thanks again, Lila.

David

First off, Lila, this was a perfect recap: short, emotional and fitting for the episode. Many thanks.

Boy, I did not see the death of Quina's death coming at all. In their ridiculous minds, the writers must have thought this was needed to put Roxi firmly on the good side. And it was more important to get her and Elo together than her and her mother...honestly, just stupid. Sure it was nice to see Elo being human and even admitting her past issue with the girl, but this redemption of witchy Elo to me could have taken a back seat to letting this girl have her mother now that they were getting close. And poor Fidel, the woman he loved silently. And no one really knows. That sucked just as much seeing his pain.

For a while there I wondered if they would show Gia having heart failure and Quina would be our donor, but they didn't go there. Which means we have to wait for someone else now.

As for the DNA test, again all Os deep down thinks of is money, but at least he didn't go ballistic over learning Gael may only be a half-bro. This had better not turn out to be a result that Papa is NOT Gael's father and he had been mislead by Gael's mother or some such. I will break something. Seriously. Because then his REAL father was a mean abuser who treated him like crap. Just to make him a legal Angeles?? Do NOT go there writers. Do NOT!

As for Fi, I got her sudden why did you abandon me though she knew Julietta's story by now. I get her being mad at Vitto though when she starts with the crying, her voice ratchets up and gets at that whiney level. I can only take so much of the actress when she does that so turned it off for awhile.

But worst was this absolutely unnecessary disgusting plot twist of throwing Sergio into the mix. And it only gave me one more reason to dislike that idiot...he acted like Petey was supposed to understand and forgive him with almost a "gee sorry" attitude. I thought Jose did a decent job in how this news is affecting him. So I see a last ditch reason to either break these two up to cause angst and prolong the ability to get results. Like we don't know how this would turn out. Again, really writers? This was your big drama twist?

Basically not loving where we are going with these ultimates so far.

Daisynjay

Thank you Lila. I didn't need chirpy for this episode and appreciate you including the touching scene between Roxy and Eloisa.

"Quina has died"

I think Fifi is a waste of good hair and capable of sucking the oxygen out of a ballroom but Santino, Julieta and Sergio are selfish. Julieta especially. The three were rich spoiled party kids with not a care in the world and nothing to contribute so why ruin that future.

Fifi was so distraught over this horrible twist of fate I could feel it. Almost like a parent had died suddenly in front of her or a adoptive sister slowly died in the next room.

Aren't we at the DNA test limit in this thing?

Osvaldo hasn't left the Ass behind, I see.

Many people go through life determined to see their parents as saints. So many people will even do this with abusive parents in ways that do themselves no good. We've all been sold the idea that motherhood is so sacred a condition that all mothers automatically love their children.

Poppycock and balderdash. There are people in this world who shouldn't have children.

And sometimes loving one's children means giving them up. If I recall correctly Julieta's parents would have disowned her and Santino's parents might have disinherited him. College students who haven't yet graduated are often not in a position to defy things like this. Neither Julieta nor Santino were prepared for this.

We have yet another argument for appropriate use of contraception, but that is a given in all these TN situations (without which here we wouldn't have a story).

Buongiorno a tutti!

Mille grazie, Vivita! Yes, this episode TOTALLY SUCKS! This was SO unnecessary! So, is this Roxi's punishment for being a bitch and Quina's for having an affair an baby with a married man and living surreptitiously right under the wife's nose? Cruel. I should have known something was up when they did that cute little montage on Friday of Quina and Roxi.

SUCKS HARD!

Grazie tantissimo, J in Oregon! This was ABSOLUTELY an echo of "Imitation of Life." J, didn't you say that earlier it reminded you of that movie? Someone did. Man, I can't believe it. Yah, Quina used to get on our nerves deserving Roxi in her uber bratty days (like, uh, her whole life) but who can stay angry at a woman who firecly defends her child. She was all that Eloisa said and had the patience of a Saint. Couldn't they have let her live to let her and Fidel walk Roxi down the aisle to marry Benni.

Grief porn, I tell ya! Grief porn!

Well, off to work! Catch up with you guys hopefully soon! Keep the Patio warm!

Thank you very much Lila for the recap!

I did NOT see Quina's death coming either!

Wasn't shocked that Fi didn't embrace her bio parents immediately & asked hard questions!

Lila, how sensitively and kindly you treated this episode.

"we get the finality of the white sheet being drawn over Quina's permanently stilled and silent face" was haunting. And lovely.

The only scene I saw was Quina being hit by the car. the idea of Quina being the sacrificial lamb so Fiorella would forgive her parents is not at all palatable to me. Quina will never get to experience more memories with her daughter and the hoped for (well at least on our end) union with Fidel will not happen. I agree Vivi, whatever the writers were thinking (or drinking/smoking I say), this was a real mis step.

I think I have been guilty of saying I like Sergio once or twice. May I say I am truly sorry? Whatever was I thinking. I see a very lonely existence for him in the not too near future and he deserves every solitary moment. Blech.

Thank you for translating Roxi and Eloisa's conversation so carefully Lila. I have always felt Eloisa does have a heart. However, its small size and irregular heartbeat (exacerbated by lies and deception) have prevented it from ever being the strong, vital organ it could have been.

Lila - you are the best!

Diana

Not all TNs have a sacrificial lamb, but it's always a likable character. Helloisa's speech to Rox is a reminder of why Joaquina was admirable despite her desperate attempt at getting Rox to recognize and accept her. We now see this behavior -- with even less dignity -- in Caridad on PyP.

Julieta needs to give Fiorella space while Santino should give Vittorio holy hell for withholding the letter all this time.

On the subject of that letter, I can't believe that it was among the stuff Fiorella lost at the airport. Why wouldn't she have read it during the flight?

Grazie tantissimo, Urban! Sadly, I think you are right. What a cruel way to reinforce a lesson. Would've been nicer if Fiorella had a talk with Quina and Roxi. She was already going to go and talk to Santino and Julieta when they heard Roxi's screams. Waste of a good heart, and a good character! Que lástima!

Thank you for this, Urban. I noted but did not give Fiorella's conversation any detail as perhaps I should. Everyone should feel free to bring out details like these for all our benefit:

Amen, to this as well:

The whole DNA issue here is insane and another example of the writers victimizing a character in order to extend the story

Pilar is continuing to be victimized as well! Painful to watch! Freddie had better fry!

Grazie, grazie, David! Yes, you very sensitively predicted that this would be traumatic for Fiorella.

This is exactly why adoptive parents should be honest with their adoptive offspring early on. Yet even that will not be enough for the child to not feel the sting of abandonment. Later, after maturing and having been through some life experiences, the adopted child can begin to understand things better, I think.

Excellent analysis. Yes, and how disastrous for Roxi! I just hope they don't give us a revelation on Eloisa that will put her back in the BITCH category!

Thank you for mentioning this, David:

Glad to hear from Fidel that all the security equipment is up and running.

Grazie tanto, Daisynjay!

I totally agree with you re Quina's death:

In their ridiculous minds, the writers must have thought this was needed to put Roxi firmly on the good side. And it was more important to get her and Elo together than her and her mother...honestly, just stupid.

Yes, Eloisa's redemption should have taken a back seat. All those years of stoic, silent, suffering mixed with a fierce pride; Roxi doing a 180 on her hostile, dismissive treatment of Quina, openly calling her "Mom" in what would come to be their last conservation and the loyal and lonely Fidel finally finding love, all just snuffed out in a minute by these 6th-grade drop out writers! Yes. I'm pissed.

Daisy, I also totally agree with you on this ASININE and unnecessary plot twist, more like mind f*ck of Sergio and the clandestine boink! Frickin', frickin' STOOPID and ODIOUS! Is this how they get their jollies? I don't want to be "tantalized" with the possibility that a brother and sister are having sex! Frickin' perverts! With this move Sergio has turned Pedro in one fell swoop into the kind of "husband" he was, emotionally flaccid and unavailable. What's next, get Pedro hooked on booze?

Thanks, Daisy, I needed to fuss some more!

Mille, mille grazie, Tofita! ITA with you here:

Julieta especially. The three were rich spoiled party kids with not a care in the world and nothing to contribute so why ruin that future.

And yes, it was a horrifying day for Roxi AND Fifi:

Fifi was so distraught over this horrible twist of fate I could feel it. Almost like a parent had died suddenly in front of her or a adoptive sister slowly died in the next room.

Don't know if we're at our DNA limit. Remember Dante's comment about "Gabriel's birth." Is there any way that a DNA test could be done on Freddie to determine whether or not she is an Angeles. You know, like a comparative test with "known" Angeles?

*Correction of myself

Quina used to get on our nerves defending Roxi in her uber bratty days (like, uh, her whole life) but who can stay angry at a woman who fiercely defends her child. . .

Grazie, Steve! No, I didn't see it either. It was a hard-hitting episode, a traumatic day for the whole Angeles household, especially Fiorella and Roxi!

Mille grazie, Diana! You don't have to apologize for saying you liked Sergio. I, too, had thought there was something deep and sincere behind his boozed exterior. Sergio has been a plot device himself as many have noted and the latest use they have put him to is despicable! Uuuf!

I have always felt Eloisa does have a heart. However, its small size and irregular heartbeat (exacerbated by lies and deception) have prevented it from ever being the strong, vital organ it could have been.

Eloisa has metaphorically what poor Gianna has literally. How ironic.

We've yelled and fussed a lot but I'm going to miss kind and thoughtful comments like yours and all the ones in this post. Y'ALL are the best!!

On the subject of that letter, I can't believe that it was among the stuff Fiorella lost at the airport. Why wouldn't she have read it during the flight?

Good question, Urban. Maybe the excitement of leaving Maratea and Italy for the first time. I remember a brief scene, I think, were Fifi and Gigi were a little frightened on the plane. There was nothing distinctive about the envelope but knowing it was from her recently departed Father, you think she might have read it. But then, the whole story would be altered. Oh well.

Okay. I need to do work stuff. See y'all later!

Was the letter for Fiorella in the envelope of things for Vittorio from her father? There was a letter for Vitto too, remember, asking him to care for his daughters. I believe he expected Fi to read the letter in Vitto's presence so that Vitto would be there to support her through the shock.

Quina used to get on our nerves defending Roxi in her uber bratty days (like, uh, her whole life) but who can stay angry at a woman who fiercely defends her child.

We can when it means she's enabling bad behavior.

We never did find out what was the big favor that Mario did for Vitto.

Defense of a loved one is noble in most cases but it can enable bad behavior but my irritation at Quina wore off. Quina wore Roxi down with kindness and eventually lost her life trying to save her.

Vivi, good point about the letter and how Mario imagined it might be read.

Vivi, whatever that favor was is probably forgotten about by the writers who have bred bigger fish to fry with this latest DNA issue.

As to the letter I think it was originally sent to Vittorio to hand to Fiorella. I remember it having been sealed. If Mario had given it to Fiorella herself there would have been no reason to seal it.

Has Aitana been written out? Didn't Fidel say the police found her fingerprints on the chandelier *or STTE*, and that she has left the country? Are we so close to the end that the writers would get rid of her so easily? I was looking forward to seeing her with a prison haircut.

J in O

Urban- Exactly. The letter to Fi was enclosed with the letter for Vitto in an envelope addressed to him, which is why she didn't read it when it was in her possession.

Lila – Thank you for the recap. It was amazing. YOU are amazing and I thank you for holding the MIVAC corner of the Patio together as this telenovela winds down.

What a bummer episode.

Wow. The writers killed off Joaquina. I did. not. see. that. coming. At all. She was dead on the scene with nobody giving CPR, so her heart couldn’t even be harvested for Gianna. Maybe a subtle PSA for knowing CPR? Definitely a powerful PSA about drunk driving after a night of clubbing. I guess nobody got that guy's tag number since he kept on going.

So, the writers are not dropping the Sergio-might-be-Fi’s-bio-dad line. We got confirmation that Fi is 24 y/o and that masked boink happened 25 years ago. I reeeally wanted to throw something at my TV screen last night, when Sergio was telling all to Pedro. Yeesh.

So, if it turns out Sergio really is Fi’s dad, then maybe Pilar had a thing with Gabriel and Gabe is Pedro’s father? Further reason for her trauma at seeing him killed? It’s the only thing that would make sense, if it is true. Or maybe Fidel is Pedro’s dad. Gaaaah….. who knows!?! Pilar needs to say something if this keeps up. I'll bet she has a lot to say, anyway.

Pilar --- Golly gee, Fed, with friends like you, who needs enemies?

The scene with Elo and Roxi was well done and very touching. Kudos to Elo for wearing her big girl pants and having compassion.

The DNA lab will be very busy this quarter. The whole family needs to go down there and get tested.

J in O – I hope we’ve seen the last of Ratana.

J in O, again, thank you for bringing out that bit about Aitana:

Didn't Fidel say the police found her fingerprints on the chandelier *or STTE*, and that she has left the country?

Yes, Fidel did say that. Let's have a buzz cut!

Mille grazie, Doris! Yeah, dead at the scene. They killed her instantly! A hit and run for her, and for us!

Re the Sergio masquerade boink. As you said and I think I speculated once, could Gabriel be Pedro's Father, he's Freaky Freddie's sister and neither of them are Angeles because Gabriel IS NOT an Angeles? That is so contorted if that's what they're doing. So Pedro and Fiorella can rebond knowing they're not brother and sister and neither knew who their real parents were?

GAH, indeed!

Another very well written review Lila, thanks and thanks again. There are more and more well written, well thought out comments here in the last few days. I think your lyrical style has inspired the patio.
So, to return to the distasteful paternity/fraternity subject: IF Max and Gabe are really brothers, and IF Pedro is Gabe's son, and IF Fiorella is Sergio's daughter, then Pedro would be Fi's first cousin once removed, which is not THAT bad, I guess. Ugh to this whole subject!
Ann C

Grazie tantissimo, Ann C.! Ugh to this whole subject, indeed! I guess when more well-thought out and intriguing plot developments can't be thought of they just kill people, throw paternity in doubt and do the old incest tease. Notice that the abominable sin has already been committed. I'm with you. I just want it to go away!

Oh Lila, it is so hard to write a recap when one is emotionally upset. And who wouldn't be after last night? I only saw the first fifteen minutes. So I was shocked when I started to read your retelling and learned of the death. How horrible! A few weeks of bonding with her child and then poof! Joaquina is gone. But let me echo everyone else however in applauding the grace and gentleness with which you wrote about it.

I also loved this observation:

In the last scene we have the aftermath of Sergio's damning "confession." He essentially has helped his son become emotionally unavailable to Fiorella at a time when she needs him most, when her usual sunny optimism has failed her, with the revelation that she could be his sister.

I hate everything about Sergio right now, but especially his Grecian Formula auburn tinted hair. And his insisting on revealing dubious truths at dreadfully inappropriate times.

Oh my, what a sad episode. They are wringing every last bit of pathos out of this supposedly happy Cinderella story. As if the metro section of the daily newspaper doesn't give us enough sadness and horror.

But thanks, Lila. It was a lovely recap written under very trying circumstances. You're the best.

JudyB! Mille, mille grazie! What an old fuddy duddy I am to wear my heart on my sleeve over fictional people! I even had a several capitulo nightmare last night! I think I need an intervention! Thank you for your gracious words!

Sergio, while hateful, has lived up (or down?) to the first view we had of him staggering into the garden at El Rancho. I don't know why they didn't have him really undergo a metamorphosis and come to Pilar's aid after her most startling reappearance from the dead! But, alas, I guess it was sexier and more exciting to do this masquerade boink/you could be boinking your sister thing. Sheesh!

Thank you, JudyB!

Lila, we all wear our hearts on our sleeves over these fictional people. That's why I try never to watch a disturbing show at night. I can handle it better during the day. I have certainly tossed and turned and had thoughts like "if only..." and( why didn't they...), all the while berating myself and saying, But it's just a show! So now I avoid watching if I know something dreadful is coming.

Those emotional neurons of our can't distinguish between fact and fiction! Watching telenovelas is good for our Spanish but very very tough on our hearts.

Thanks, JudyB. You are so right. *Sigh.* Let's steel ourselves because the end is near!

Doris, I was one who admitted I thought a good twist would be to make Petey NOT an Angeles, or to make him Gabe's son which means Freddie would have to Share...heaven help her.

But adding the layer of "oh, let's make Fi be Sergio's father instead" and this whole incest type plot is beyond the pail and unnecessary. It was done for some sort of perverted ( you go LILA!!) plot point that was not necessary. It also possible elevates a character that should not be applauded for behavior as some sort of good guy if he does turn out to be her father. And poor Santino heart breaks...yeah, this stinks.

Last we heard Hairball was going to fly the friendly skies so I sort of took it she was gone. Only thing I can see if she hears that Fi and Petey break up, she'll come back in her delusional state again and then get caught. Freddie could want to use her for her revenge purposes.

And I agree--stop the abuse of Pilar. WHY do they allow Freddie within 10 feet of her?

Daisynjay

Lila, thank you for this recap of a very sad &
Very maddening episode.

Now, what the hell is wrong with sorry ass
Sergio? Why would he be so incredibly and
So maliciously heartless to his son? Is he so
Pissed cuz julieta kicked his useless but to the curve? His son is married to the love of
His life and he tells him this. And he's not even sure. What a nasty hateful thing to do.
They can kill him off. Im done with him.

I hate that they kill off a character that is so
Loved and leave a sadistic person (freddy) to
Continue to cause discord and heartache at
Every turn. They can just kill off her and serg
And leave fi and her parents to get to know
Eachother. What a nasty trick.

Please don't let augustin be a jerk. That look
Of stun on his face is either, "oh oh, he's about To find out Im a fake, or "Ooooo I was
Hoping he believed me, ok I'll do the DNA for
Him". I hope its the last one. Theres to much
Heartache in this family. I could just throttle
Sergio. Useless jerk!!!!

I liked that scene with granny and roxi. I hope
Os stays sweet and supportive whatever the
Results are. Hes his brother and hes going to
Need his bro and pedro is going to need the
Both of them, thanks to his useless ....parent.

Im so sorry for fidel, I think maybe he and ms
Quina were about to become couple. O poor
Simoneta is going to be beside herself, shes
Going to need mr. Sunday.

Sergio, you stupid stupid man!!!! }:-|

I am so annoyed with Sergio. He should have just gone to Julieta and Santino and suggested they all submit their DNA. Fiorella should submit hers for closure. Wait for results, then do what they have to do.

However, that is not necessarily any better than what happened.

The writers really screwed us all this time.

Lila thanks so much for the lovely sensitive recap- I'm shocked that Quina is dead, but then I've been wrong about so many things in this show (I'm one of the people who used to like Sergio, and Fed too.)

everything else I wanted to say has already been said, so I'll just say thank you again.

If its not to late couldn't roxi give permission
To give quina's heart to gianna? If its still
Viable that is. And they're a match. A certain amount of time is Allowed before that window closes. Would she had to have been an organ doner, for roxi To give permission?

Hey yall where was freddy at the time of the
Hit-n-run? she said she wants to kill all of them thats getting money that she feels is rightfully hers. Jauquina was getting some of that money. Someone farther up said the car kept going, didn't stop. and then later we see her threatening Pilar about keeping their secrets or she'd become her enemy. I wouldn't put it past that heffa to have done the evil deed.

Thank you for hangin in there Lila. This was a sad one. And we have tonight to look forward to.

Grazie tantissimo, Nina! Now. Here is something I thought for a second but dismissed. Didn't know anyone else thought about it:

Please don't let augustin be a jerk. That look
Of stun on his face is either, "oh oh, he's about To find out Im a fake, or "Ooooo I was
Hoping he believed me, ok I'll do the DNA for
Him".

Yah. That would REALLY suck! I feel you on every point you make, Nina!

Back in a sec. . .see other comments!

Good afternoon patio peeps. Like I wrote yesterday in the night, this was a combining of episodes 159 and 160 and there were some things cut out that I will try to remember.

Missed things:

* Julieta tells Sergio that Fiorella is her daughter and Sergio so imprudently tells her that then Pietro and Fiorella could be brothers. He ironically tells Julieta no to tell Fiorella nothing until they are sure.
* Julieta tells Santino that Sergio could be the father of Fiorella and in another scene they are talking about making a DNA test.
* A scene of Fiorella talking in the phone with Nicoleta who confirms her that the doctor confused her with Gianna.
* Reaction of Agustin to the DNA suggestion: At first he was a little bit disappointed thinking that Gael was doubting of his sincerity but Gael tells him that it was his brother Osvaldo's idea. Agustin ends up telling Gael that he doesn't have problem in doing the DNA but first, oh my Lord, he wants to talk with Osvaldo. Gael tells him that is not a good idea, that Os has an aggresive behavior, but Agustin thinks that he can handle the situation. Oh good luck Agustin, you will need it honey.

Urban, what you say makes so much sense. That's the problem. They want the flashy and scandalous. Ugh!

Aww, grazie tantississimo, Sneaky They've thrown us enough curve balls that a whole bunch of us have been wrong about a lot of stuff!

;D

Nina - there were some guys leaving the club where Roxi was, one guy was really drunk and his friends questioned his ability to drive. That's the guy who hit Quina. Highly unlikely Fed had anything to do with it.

No, Nina, Roxi can't give permission. Quina wasn't an organ donor, they can't just harvest her organs nor can anyone else give that permission.

Freddie making Pilar swear to keep "their secrets" happened far in advance of the hit and run. That said, after this stupid masquerade boinking thing, I wouldn't put anything past the writers!

Thanks, Doris. Our posts crossed!

Continuation of missed things:

*Talking of Osvaldo, they cut out the scene where he asks Gael about what he heard him say about changing his last name and well Gael confesses Os that he is not an Angeles and was not son of Os Sr. But before that, sweet Gael was looking up in the internet options for Gianna to avoid the heart transplant when Osvaldo entered to the room. They have a little chat of her in which amazingly Os shows a little bit of worriness for her health, maybe the first talk between brothers in which Os is not acting all nasty.
* A scene of Os with Sonia in which he is talking bad about Agustin and defending his parents memory. Sonia tries to make him think that indeed Gael could be son of Agustin but her efforts are in vain. Os is more stubborn that a mule.
* There is another typical novela misunderstanding between Roxana and Benito. She casually hears him talking with Katia in the phone. Benito was calling her so she can help him clear with Roxana that he doesn't have nothing with Katia. I think that Gianna gave him that idea. That is why Rox went to the antro.
*I think that there was a family reunion in the living room in which they were talking of Joaquina's death and Federica was making disgusting comments.
* Reunion in the employees house talking about Roxana not wanting to be in Joaquina's funeral. Fidel wants to go talk with Rox but Helloisa comes and tells him that she will do it. Simona makes an imprudent comment of Joaquina being Maximo's concubina.

*Pilar was crying because Helloisa imprudently told her about the chandelier killing attempt against Pietro and Fiorella. Helloisa was just worried in if Federica was behind that disaster that she didn't thought in how this could affect Pilar's health. Then Federica came and had another usual discussion with her in front of Pilar. I think Helloisa had to leave because Fidel came and told her that the fingerprints that they found were from Ratana. So there is when Federica threatened my poor Pilar.
* Pietro and Benito take Roxana to her room. Pietro leaves but Benito stays with Rox even though she wants to be alone. She cries and feels guilty and he tries to console her.
Ok hons, I think that is basically all what was left out.

Thank you, Marla. That's all good to know.

Thank you Marla! We would be lost without your updates!

You welcome my dear friends. If they continue cutting maybe the novela will be off in like a week but dont worry. I will try to inform you all of everything that is important.

There was also a scene of Fidel talking with Joaquina about formalizing their relationship and before that, Roxana and Quina were having a happy moment when Fidel comes. I think that Rox tells them that they were a cute couple.

A sad scene of Fiorella crying and starring at Gianna while she slept and having flasbacks of their happy moments. Gianna wakes up and notices that Fio is sad, she thinks that is because of her illness. Gianna gets so dramatic you know talking about if she dies, she wants Fio to promise her that she is gonna try to have a happy life.

Buongiorno a tutti!

Mille grazie, Marla for your expansions through the deleted scenes! It Does help fill the gaps as they rush us to the end!

Hello everyone (you may not see this at this late date), I've been creeping around here for a couple of months and thanks to 'Marla' I realized that I wasn't crazy (editing) but I found a few episodes and it's horrible how bad they edit these - I haven't seen all of the episodes, but this last one (2 episodes that are about 50 minutes long - w/o commercials) one Fi finishing up the letter and then the next episode starts with her crying on Ped's shoulder in their room...so they basically cut one whole show! On another note...thanks you guys - I wish I had found you at Por Siempre Mi Amor, but I'm glad I found you guys period!

Hey, Kendra! Welcome. Well, this ride is almost over but better late than never! We've got a few more shows so hang with us til the end!

Thank you Lila! I re-read my comment - I've been watching Muchacha since the beginning when it aired in September...I found the unedited ones a couple of weeks ago (duh), but yes...I'm so glad I found you guys. I was really screwing up what I thought I was hearing being said or missing words. You guys have had me cracking up about especially about Hairtana and Assvaldo! I do watch PYP (my other obsession - even though sometimes I want to toss it to the side), so I'm still lurking around even if I don't comment.

Cool, Kendra. I'm working on getting the recap for last night's show posted for the amazing Sneaky Two Shoes so keep checking the original Caray page. Hopefully it will be up soon!
