Muchacha Italiana #116 2/9/16 Technical Difficulties

Recap by the amazing Sneaky Two Shoes!!!   Grazie Tantissimo!!

(Ok folks I got to start out with an apology, this was a night of just one thing after another, first the audio was muffled on my recording and I spent an hour taking apart and cleaning my VCR to no avail so I’m sure I missed some dialogue so this recap is going to be extra short)

Just as Fi is asking Pietro why he is so distant with her and what was it that his father told him that upset him so much they broke in w/primary results so I missed whatever lame excuse Pietro came up with and the next thing I got was the funeral at the house.

Roxi cries and eulogizes  her mother; how nice she was, and how she let her get away with everything, and how mean Roxi was. Then, Fed comes home and makes a ruckus about the funeral for the servant till Roxi gives her a well deserved slap and tells the priest he can get on with the funeral.

Then we go to Pietrella’s room and Pietro’s unwillingness to even lie in bed beside the woman who may be his half sister. He goes to shower (repeatedly I’m sure) while Fi goes to sleep. Pietro flashes back to all their kisses from the very first, till Sergio’s voice breaks in to his memories saying Fi might be his daughter.

Next morning Pietro hasn’t slept in the bed and left a note for Fi saying he’s gone to resolve something.

He’s gone to talk to Juli and Santino about getting a DNA test between Santino and Fi  w/o telling Fi. When she calls he lies to her saying he’s in the city, she senses he’s hiding something, and he’s about to tell her, but Santino and Juli frantically signal no and he makes something up about ACorp – and then tells them we got to get this solved now.

An attorney comes by the Rancho w/a posthumous video from Dante that he wanted them to see if anything happened to him. Fed wants to see it the mostest. Dante confesses to killing Gabe by accident, and loving Fed and then says if something happens to me it could be Fed’s doing, and she freaks out and stops the video ( yeah that doesn’t look guilty at all)

After some family arguing which is mostly Fed yelling about how innocent she is, the lawyer tells Elo that the video was made a few days before Dante’s death. More arguing. Both Elo and Fed want to call the police.

Santino, Juli, and Pietro agonize about Fi maybe being Sergio’s daughter. At length. Its agonizing.

Jump to Papi Chulo talking to Os, reminds him of when he was a kid playing in the park. Agustin was there watching Gael from a distance, Os  fell down, and Os sr was going to smack him one because an Angeles doesn’t do that or whatever, but Agustin stepped in and stopped him and defended Os from his dad, and Os sr never hit his kids again. (tra la tra la) Os starts out sarcastic but as he remembers the event is amazed and won over, now he wants to see the video of his mom w/Agustin.

Fed tells Pilar  how unfair it all is – Dante’s video ect. and she hides a brown bottle wrapped in a scarf in Pilar’s drawer. Domingo sees her at the drawer and questions what she’s doing, but Fed says she’s checking he’s doing his job right and threatens him and sinisterly slides out shushing Domingo as he sweats.

Fi and Gia talk about Pietro’s distance but Fi doesn’t tell Gia about finding out about being adopted, instead they talk about cheering Roxi up and knowing how it feels to lose a mom. Fi thinks Gia is so brave thinking of others when she is waiting for a heart transplant. Gia thinks Fi is wonderful too.

Pietro and Sergio talk DNA test. If she’s your daughter, you’re going to lose a son. They argue about Sergio’s bad behavior in the past and his generally being a crappy father.

Os and Sonia talk about his childhood trauma. Did he know or somehow sense that his mother stopped loving his father and that’s why he has a problem with women? Has he been trying to punish his mother all these years? Did what happened when he was a little boy make him into a bad person? Sonia soothes him and reminds him he has changed a lot for the better lately, now he’s good, and he still has his brother, they are still brothers and he has a baby on the way, all good things, and she gives him a comforting hug.

Elo asks Fi where Pietro is and Fi confides that she doesn’t know – she’s worried and she’s pretty sure he didn’t sleep at home last night and there’s something he’s not telling her.

At ACorp Os and Pietro discuss Gael’s true parentage and whether they should tell the whole fam about it. You can tell that because of the uncertainty about  Fi’s parentage Pietro is super uncomfortable with the whole convo. ( And  there my tape ends and that one is on me, I should have checked more closely to make sure I had enough room. Sorry. But Lila said she’d fill in the last few minutes. Yay Lila! )

Os seeks Pedro's counsel on what to do about Gael's having a different father, a NON ANGELES.  Essentially, Osvaldo is actually concerned that not only will their mother's image be tarnished but Gael would lose his share of the inheritance!  Pedro tells him that if it were him he wouldn't reveal the secret.  Pedro feels they are not responsbile for their parents actions and why should something be revealed that would not only hurt the family, but more importantly, hurt Gael.  Pedro says and Os agrees that as far as he is concerned, Gael IS an Angeles.  Pedro thinks their shoulders are broad enough to bear the weight of this secret without sharing this with the family.  Os asks what would Pedro do if he found out he had a sibling by a different mom or dad.  Ooops.  This hits home but Pedro recovers.  He doesn't know what he would do.  All he can do is advise Os to think it through calmly and thoroughly and make his decision.

Investigators come to the house to search in light of the Dante video.  Fidel receives them.  Freddie gets into an argument with Sergio and Sonia over her probable guilt and the need for the investigators to start in her room.  Fidel finally ignores them and shows the investigators to the family's private wing to begin the search.  After they leave, Freddie pulls the Devil card.  [Lucifer is seated on his throne and there are two minions standing by his left and right hands.  Their boodies are fuzzed out. What a hoot!]  Sergio says its Freddie's card.

Eloisa calls Pedro and tries to pressure him to come home.  Eloisa says they are about to call Gianna to come in for her transplant:  a heart has been found!  His wife needs him.  He is evasive and doesn't yield so they put Gigi on who talks softly, sweetly and plaintively about how nervous and afraid she is.  He gives her a pep talk and says soon he hopes to break away and come to the hospital to be with her.  She tries to give the phone to Fifi to talk to him but he ducks out real quick and hangs up.

Finally, our usually sunny, smiling and chirping Fiorella shows us she can rip folks a new one along with the best of them.

Fiorella talks with Julieta and Santino in the study.  Julieta starts with that she is very glad that Fiorella  is their daughter.    Fiorella coldly asks, "Why did you abandon me?"

S:   We didn’t abandon you, we put you up for adoption.

F:  Ok, why did you do that?  I want to know why?

J:  We were too young and our families opposed our relationship. . .

S:  Both  our families were very conservative and only wanted us marry within the aristocratic class.

J:  It was very complicated and we decided to do what was best for you.

F:  Best for me or for you?

S:  We  didn’t have an option, we did what we could with what we had at the time.

J:  It wasn’t an easy decision.  It was very hard!

F:  I guess it was very hard for you to leave me somewhere and just forget about me!  (insert heavy sarcasm here)

J:  You don’t know how hard I looked for you!

F:  You looked for me a lot Señora Julieta!  And now 24 years later you want everything to be honky dory like nothing ever happened!   Did you ever think I might be with a horrible family?   Bet you never thought of that!

Santino is looking down, hurt and subdued.

S:  But it didn’t turn out like that, a beautiful family adopted you.

F:  Yes, a precious family adopted me because they knew what it was to be parents, unlike you two!

And cut!

Fantastico! Sneaky Two Shoes! Wonderful recap! No need to apologize. VCR or DVD always has to show us it's digital tail at some point. Back later!

Thanks, Sneaky. It was great - this was my favorite: "Santino, Juli, and Pietro agonize about Fi maybe being Sergio’s daughter. At length. Its agonizing." It WAS agonizing, wasn't it? I was watching live last night, which I rarely do, and they broke in several times with election results. I'm glad you and Lila are here to fill it all in for me.

The recap is awesome Sneaky, don't you sweat a thing.

"He goes to shower (repeatedly I’m sure)"

Good golly, a recording of Dante wagging a finger toward Freddie killing him and nobody keeps an eye on her? Pilar, I apologize for your worthless husband and son.

Also, our buddy Dante left out Max told him to kill Gabe.

Typical, Petey runs and hides.

Right on Fifi. Spoiled rich kids and an unwanted pregnancy.

Astounding just how screwed up that ANGELES family really is. I mean, is there anyone they haven't screwed, literally?

Mille, mille grazie, Sneaky!

Love the quip about the repeated shower that Tofie notes above!

So, Freddie stops the video and they let her? And then, again, as Tofie notes above, they don't watch her? There is no way anyone is going to believe that Pilar poisoned Dante and if that bullshit gets traction I'm going to SCREAM!!!!

So. I'm happy that Osvaldo asked, almost begged Sonia to forgive him for being an ASS their whole married life but he lost me when he tried to lay his assidity at the doorstep of his mother. . .that he was trying to punish her all these years. . .FOR WHAT? For seeking refuge in another man's arms from a hateful, self-centered jerk who emotionally (and perhaps physically) abused her and her sons! Gimme a break! Assvaldo was an ASS because he was molded by and looked up to an ASS! Jeezopete!

I must say, it was good to see Fiorella something other than all sweetness and light! I'm glad she got that off her chest but I know she'll come around. But, before she does, I want her to find out about this masquerade boink horse hockey so she can rip Sergio one, too!

Thank you, Sneaky! This was great!

Thanks so much, Sneaky! Another painful episode, but you did a marvelous job (with great assist from Lila).

I would like to think that had Pedro been there to hear Dante's video confession that he wouldn't have allowed Freddy anywhere near his mother. But I don't think it would have made a difference. Sergio and Eloisa know what she is and what she's capable of, and yet they allow her to roam free and have complete access to Pilar. Yeah, if anyone believes that Pilar is Dante's murderer, I will scream. Ridiculous!

Yeah Sneaky!! Yeah Lila!! You guys are the bestest!!!

My beanie can't take much more of this TN, so it better end soon. You essentially have Dante pointing his finger right at Freddie and after bickering, they leave his maniac alone and she is allowed to once again hang around with Pilar. FIDEL--do your job man!! Protect people! I was never so livid as seeing her free as a bird to do whatever. Like noone really cares.

As for this whole parenthood mope...Sergio is a conceited clueless drip who doesn't get his past action was despicable and he is hardly repentant as he sips his coffee with Petey still thinking Petey should somehow be ok with everything. I hope that Petey still cold shoulder's this jerk even if he's not the father ( and he better as hell not be).

Ok, I'm going to say this, but after last night, I'm firmly convinced whis was a knee-jerk expansion plot line written well after the fact. Because, and maybe it's me, but the Fiorella we have been given through this whole show is understanding and forgiving. Cripes, Os pointed a gun at her and was finger pull away from blowing her brains out ( not to mention nary a bathroom break) and she forgave him with no problems.

Her parents, who struggled to find her, and she KNOWS that, forced in another day and age to do what they did in a foreign land, are trying to explain and apologize for what happened, and she is snippy and rude and hardly the Fi we know. I get she's upset, but she isn't even trying, and something about that just doesn't ring true to me. I hope this is resolved soon and end this misery. Plus,I can't stand to see Santino sad:(

So what...they found a heart donor from where? A total stranger. Well, I didn't expect that. I still felt last night that OS and Sonia's conversation was like a TN dead man walking farewell. But I guess not now if they got some random person as heart donor. He may live another day.

Daisynjay

Thank you very much for the recap!

I'm hoping that Fio's parents can be forgiven here!

Hey, Daisy! Good point!

I get she's upset, but she isn't even trying, and something about that just doesn't ring true to me. I hope this is resolved soon and end this misery. Plus,I can't stand to see Santino sad:(

This sure isn't the Fifi we know. Just the sheer stupidity of the masquerade boink screams 'EXTENSION' doesn't it?

And, as for Pedro's coldness towards Fiorella, these dang people luuuv separating the couple. At least they didn't bring in a new skank for there to be a misunderstanding over. . .or an old skank, like Aitana.

That Freddie. I could have beat her within an inch of her life for what she did at Quina's wake. What a vicious, heartless, self-satisfied and arrogant piece of excrement she it! They should have been harsher in their condemnation but Roxi's slap shut her up good! She's getting away with so much, I feel certain she's going to pull some bull right up to the last ten minutes!

Oh dear Lila, looks like the despicable Assvaldo is back. I am sure you would be more mad at him if they hadn't cut out part of his reunion with Agustin in which he was so disrespectful and aggresive with him and even with Gael.

When, Marla? Before the part we saw where he was talking to Gael and Augustin and told them he wanted to see everything?

Grazie tanto, Sneaky. I had to watch the truncated version but I know this is an edit of #161 and 162.

I know that there is a little comic relief missing from the first half when Domingo and Simona did a kids' puppet show for Gianna in which the characters were Gianna, Fiorella, Pietro, and Gael Benito joined them later so they could add Aitana to the story and he stood up in the booth wearing a long mop. I'm annoyed now because probably part of the Fiorella/Julieta/Santino scene is missing.

Really coming to the opinion that Pedro should simply disown his father. Sergio hasn't done him any good in his entire life and this latest thing (which is an obvious extender, perhaps because the next series wasn't ready yet) should be the last straw. Helloisa should own her responsibility for this if she hasn't already done so.

Under the heading off All Things Considered we shouldn't be too hard on Fiorella for how she is confronting the situation. She's had a hard time and there is another Sword of Damocles over her head right now.

I know it does no good to say so, but I sure hate the editing hack job. Yah, it's long and some members of the Patio might start trying to look for something sharp if it were much longer but that comic relief scene sounds hilarious. Maybe when it's over I'll go back and watch some of these scenes you and Marla mention.

Pedro needs to scrape Sergio out of his life like dog doo from the bottom of a shoe. What a monumental loser.

Urban, I'm hard on the writers for this stoopid extension but Fiorella's reaction can be seen as an unnatural departure but it can also be seen as even Fiorella of Sunnybrook Ranch can reach her limit! I think Sergio and Julieta got a lot of her left over rage from Vittorio keeping the letter away from her like that. And as for that other "Sword of Damocles", let her take it and cut Sergio's head off!

Lila, yesterday's episode was a combination of episodes 161 and 162. Univision only pass a scene of Osvaldo's reunion with Agustin in which they only showed Os fragility but there were 2 scenes of the reunion cut out.
In the first one, Osvaldo and Gael were coming from Joaquina's burial and Agustin tries to be polite asking them if they want something. Osvaldo inmediately goes ballistic and screams at him what about a confession because I don't believe in what you told Gael. Then he notices that indeed Agustin looks like Gael but he stupidly thinks that Agustin is using that similarity to fool Gael and take money out of him. Agustin tries to defend himself and explain everything to him but Os says My mother could not have been with another man besides my dad. Agustin invites Os and Gael to seat in the coach so they can have a talk.

Thanks, Marla. Well, old habits die hard. I think they're still trying to sell him as a changed man. In the meeting with Pedro Os actually was concerned about Gael's inheritance and not just their mother's honor AND he said he still considers Gael an Angeles. This is a nice move towards Gael. We'll see how this plays out.

Sneaky - THank you for the recap and the snark!!! And thank you for pitching in to recap for us MIVAC folks!!!!!

If Domingo could see Fed putting something into Pilar's drawer, then Pilar could see it. Dom was standing right behind Pilar.

Our Fi is (finally) not full of love and forgiveness of others. Funny how that happens when the shoe is on the other foot . . . like . . . on hers. This, too, shall pass.

Poor Fi. She finds out she was given up for adoption by people who had the $ to feed and raise her, and immediately her husband avoids her like a disease. The poor girl is going to have a breakdown.

tofie said --- "Also, our buddy Dante left out Max told him to kill Gabe." Yep, I noticed that, too. 6th graders have short attention spans.

Daisynjay --- the background music during the sweet Osvonia convo sure sounded like a harbinger of bad news coming.

In the second scene of the reunion, apparently Agustin has told Os all his love story with Sara but Os is still in awful negative mode. He tells him that if his story were true, that converts him in a coward but there are no proofs that he had something with his mother. Gael gets tired and says that this reunion is useless, that Os is never going to accept nothing. Os gets furious and screams at Gael that he is an iluso that in order to have a father, he buys the lie. Oh I think that he was going to insult Agustin but he shuts him up asking him that if he wants to hear a story to convince himself. Os says ok surprise me and Agustin starts telling Os that he always visit the parks to see his son and Sara from far away. Oh Os interrupts him constantly.

Yes, the scene where Augustin reminded Osvaldo of his stopping Assvaldo, Sr. from beating him finally shut Osvaldo up. That was probably something he hadn't thought about in a long time and the fact that the incident ended their father's beatings was very impactful.

I know this is a common theme in novelas but it must be like an earthquake to find out one of your parents is NOT your parent!

To Osvaldo we can apply a common spanish saying: No hay peor ciego que el que no quiere ver
(there is no one more blind that who that doesn't want to see)

Ok but I think it is a normal reaction of a human being to try to avoid painful situations like these. In Osvaldo's case, he had a traumatic childhood, being abused physically and emotionally by his dad and growing in a circle of violence. Those inner wounds rarely heal so to protect himself he is trying to invent the fantasy of the perfect and happy family and idealizing his parents as if they had been real saints.

Sneaky--what a wonderful recap despite all the problems that got in your way! Thank you so much and also to Lila.

Couple of things:
Wouldn't it be a hoot if Sergio was not the father of Fiorella OR Pedro!

What was on the rest of Dante's video that we didn't see because Fed turned it off?
Perhaps the secret of Gabriel's birth?

Will Papi Chulo end up with someone, are they saving him for Sonia?

ITA that the Masquerade Boink felt like a clumsy add-on...even while we were watching it. I'm sorry I may never again have an excuse to use that phrase, "The Masquerade Boink".

J in Oregon

In the other hand, while Osvaldo was raised in a rich family but feed with hate and anger, with Fiorella was all the opposite. She was raised in a poor family but with love and in a warm home. Osvaldo was unable to create a love bond with his brother Gael while Fiorella has a special unity with Gianna even when they don't have blood bonds. It should be hard for her to see all her world going down with that revelation, the fact of knowing that Gianna is not her sister, that the people she thought were her parents are not, that her biological parents didn't have the courage to fight for her and face the consequences of their acts.

Sneaky thank you my dear. You pretty much
Hit everything. Now I really like fi, but shes
Being a horses patuddy with her parents. I
Wish she would have shutup and let them get a word in. But she just kept babbling. It's
Very annoying listening to her motormouth.
Shes acting like a bad Angeles.
I was wondering how long it would take fed
To setup poor pilar. Mr. Sunday needs to let
On he saw her.

Os hit a soar spot with pietro with the sibbling from another mother thing. It's like
All the stuff is about to explode. Giana will get somebody's heart. Whoelse is left but fed
Aitana, sonia, katia. Who says it has to be a
Female? It could be a male. That leaves beni,
Os, pietro, domingo. O I forgot, theres diana.
Well at this point it could be anyone. But gi gotta Live!!! She gotta live!!! Whatever.

Doris: Fio' husband is acting like a spoiled brat!

Couldn't juls tell the differance between sexy
Santino and drunk sergio? Santino is taller
Isn't he? Or was she drunk at the long ago masquerade ball?

Nina, the writers are leaving Julieta like a reverend prostitute, that really sucks. Oh so sorry if I was a bit rough in my comment.
