Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #64 Mon 11/23/15 (Mex 93) Two Revelations and a Tease

Ciao a tutti! Hey, y'all! Here's the low down on tonight's show: down, dirty, and not necessarily in order of broadcast!

Diana finds a letter addressed to Fiorella from Fiorella's late Father, Mario, in Vitto's safe. She opens it and we only get a few tantalizing words: "My dearest Fiorella, in these, my dying moments, I must tell you a truth that I cannot take to my grave. You need to know that. . . ." Diana gasps and smiles and we don't get to hear the rest. She puts the letter back in its envelope.

Roxi and Benni have dinner. She thanks him for calling off Quina: she's always on Roxi's case. Well, Quina is her Nana, it's to be expected. Nanna, yes, Mama, no! We have a few interchanges in which Benni shows he's a poor, ignorant hick. Roxi thinks Benni is a diamond in the rough and hires a personal coach to remove all the crud and shine up all the facets of his sparkling personality.

Gael goes to Granny Helloisa to report Assvaldo's death threat to Gianna. Helloisa literally laughs it off. She doesn't think Assvaldo is capable of such a thing but Assvaldo is right, he does NOT need to be with Gianna. Maximo didn't work all those years for her to give the fortune to the servants. AND, if he doesn't keep his nose clean, he'll lose his inheritance. She's not going to give it to him to spend up on drugs. Well, it's turning out not to be a very good day for Gael as we shall see below.

Alina gets herself blackmailed by Assvaldo to intervene with Gael and get him to break up for good with Gianna. If she doesn't, he will use the pictures that Sonia took when she and Assvaldo were having an, um, informal consultation on top of her desk: she'd lose her liscense and her livlihood. She caves and starts to work on Gael that very afternoon, insisting that analyzing every aspect of his relationship with Gianna is an indicated next step in his therapy. Thankfully, Gael looks as if he smells a rat!

Aitana and Freddie have an encounter in Pedro's office at El Corporativo. A picture of Pedro's mom leads Aitana to ask how she died. Freddie doesn't remember, just that it was sudden: it's the Angeles curse. Aitana wants to know who else died besides her and Osvaldo's Father. Freddie says many more but she shouldn't worry her pretty little head about it; she's got a wedding to plan.

Freddie brings up the missing years ACorp's files to Pedro in his office. She implies he must have something to hide. No, he honestly doesn't. Things like this happen, papers being missing. This will never do! Everything has to be perfect with ACorp! Plus, it's good to know what happened so one does not have to live in the shadow of an unknown past. Pedro promises her he'll look into it and gives her a look that seems to say he realizes she's not wrapped too tightly.

Assvaldo and Benigno begin Assy's plan to merge ACorp with whatever the name of Benigno's company is and to put Ass boy at the helm. They meet with Helloisa. Benigno tells her he's been looking at the structure of his company and thinks he needs someone aggressive and decisive like Assy to head it up. Helloisa argues kind of weakly that Pedro would be a better candidate but Benigno's already pinned the tail on the Ass. Besides, Pedro's busy planning his wedding to the most wonderful woman in the world! [Insert dollops of sarcasm.] Big time RPC on a later scene of Petey and The Wild Thang making kissy face despite his having a Fiorella flashback. He tells Aitana he's going to marry a woman that will make him forget his sadness.

Vitto orders a bunch of meds from a pharmacy he found online and apparently heard me say last recap that he hadn't bothered to Google the symptoms of inoperable brain tumor. Fiorella is in his office when he enters heartily carrying a bust of an Etruscan warrior and immediately starts to feign fatigue when he sees her. She recites to him the symptoms he's going to start seeing: hair and weight loss, dizziness, so he must take his meds right away! She fusses over him and gets water but I'm not sure he actually took anything. OD him on something, Fifi!

Helloisa and Julieta have a "men are dogs" session at El Rancho. Julieta boo hoos about Anibal's infidelities and Helloisa agrees it sucks to be her: Maximo's eyes wandered but he was a good provider and a generous man. Why, one example was the way he brought home Roxi, the recently orphaned baby of a distant relative! Helloisa asks why Julieta didn't want to have children with her ex-husband. It wasn't a didn't want to, it was a couldn't. Julieta thinks that after she gave her baby up for adoption, her body punished her: it's a sin she has to pay for! Helloisa thinks she's too hard on herself and that soon she will find her daughter and she should be precious, about twenty or twenty-one!

Diana's mom wants her to reestablish contact with Beto's Father. Beto needs a Father figure and she could use some financial help. Diana finally tells her Beto's Father abandoned her and furthermore, he's in prison! Diana's mom insists she see him and find out what happened. Diana goes to prison and endures a harassment by some random lady there for a visit. Anywho, Diana takes a seat and her Baby Daddy comes out to the common area and greets her. It's Anibal! Slime ball lies through his teeth, apparently he was going with her and she had no idea he was married. Of course he's innocent and he begs Diana, for the sake of their son, to help him! Hoo boy, looks like the old black magic might be working on her!

Let's round out the parental theme with the kindly Quina, comforting and encouraging Gianna who earlier refused to get out of bed or go to the University: She's all in a blue funk over Gael. Relationships with the owners never works out, Quina advises and she encourages Gianna to smile and keep her chin up. Gianna is very grateful for Quina's warmth and counsel; it reminds her of her mother. Quina wishes Roxana could be like Gianna. Quina and Gianna are in the kitchen when Roxi returns and hears this. Of course Roxi has to attack them both but is especially vicious to Quina. Roxi tells Quina she needs to stop acting as if she were her mother, Quina disgusts her! Roxi says there is a species of spider that, when they can't reproduce, they form a little ball in their abdomen to satisfy their frustrated maternal instincts. She asks Quina if she knew that. Quina did not. Roxi then says that for her birthday she'll get Quina a little doll or a puppy or something so she can get over her obsession that she is a mother because she's certainly NOT hers! The giant Fidel temporarily blocks Roxi way as she tries to leave the kitchen. Gosh, I so want him to box her ears or something!

A little later Quina cries bitterly and Fidel tries to comfort her, telling her not to take the words of a spoiled, maladjusted, arrogant and miserable little idiot like Roxi so much to heart. He knows that she cared for Roxi and all since birth but she shouldn't let it hurt her so. Okay, I embellished his words somewhat, but that's the gist. Quina cries that it DOES hurt and she can't just forget it because . . ."Roxana is my and Maximo's daughter!"

Okay guys. It's a little shorter than usual. Hope I hit all the highlights. Feel free to fill in or correct!

Have at it!

Good stuff, Lila.

We've waited all this time to find out (this was Mex ep 93) to get confirmation on Roxana's origins and the fact that Helloisa has no clue about it. She swallowed Maximo's lie all that time ago. She's not going to like the truth no matter how she finds it out.

I was hoping Diana would be too smart to fall for Anibal's BS, but I could be wrong.

It would be very cool if Fiorella can figure out that Vito's meds don't belong together.

Grazie, Urbanita! Yes, confirmation at last on Roxi and a surprise.. .sort of... on Anibal being the sperm donor of little Beto. I mean, we know Anibal is a man whore, just never hooked him with Diana. And yes, let Fifi do some research on the internet and find out this terminal illness is all a ruse!

Lila - Thank you for the recrap! I actually watched and was high-fiving last night because stuff. actually. happened in the form of Revelations! Well, except the letter Diana read and that hussy did not share the rest of it with us. (boo! hissssss!)

The shockeroo of the night was psychopath Anibal is Beto's father. Yipes. Diana does not know he is Julieta's husband, does she? (we learned she knows he is married)

For some reason, my sixth sense makes me think Diana will not end up with Vitto. She is just slimy enough, herself, that she'll end up alone. Or maybe dead, along with Anibal, and Julieta will get to raise Beto. Just a Crackpot Theory™!

For some reason (maybe the hair or face or combo) Diana's mom always makes me think of Petra's mom in Jane the Virgin. (the similarity ends there because Petra's mom is evil and Diana's mom is not)

Hopefully, Fi will make Vitto take those all meds as prescribed, ~ALL~ of them, and then he an overdose and reeeally have a true medical crisis. Maybe even die. And she'll find out he was lying like a dog about that whole thing. We could use some "squee!" moments to keep us all awake.

I thought this would be a Peteyboy-free episode, but, alas and alack, NOT.

Hi, Lila. Thanks for this recap full of your signature insights and fun portrayals.

Don't know what to make of Gael's shrink. She is so conflicted about Osvaldo's demands that I wonder if she will pull something to make him the butt of the joke. Shouldn't be too hard; the guy isn't exactly a deep thinker.

Eloisa is so ignorant of things going on around her, yet she thinks that with her spy cameras and her spies, she is totally informed and 5 steps ahead of everyone else. Then last night we learned that she never has understood what was going on around her.

Pedro telling Aitana that he is going to marry the girl who can make him forget his sadness was the same as telling her she is out of his life forever.

Thanks again, Lila.

David

Buongiorno, Doris! Grazie! Grazie!

For some reason, my sixth sense makes me think Diana will not end up with Vitto. She is just slimy enough, herself, that she'll end up alone. Or maybe dead, along with Anibal, and Julieta will get to raise Beto. Just a Crackpot Theory™!

What's your track record, Doris? This sounds pretty good to me. Diana did seem as if she was listening to Anibal and why would he reapper as her Baby Daddy if something like that wasn't going to happen. This is actually interesting.

Peteyboy-free episode Hey, something else to look forward to!

Buongiorno, David! Grazie, fratello, grazie!

Re Alina, I WISH she'd be sharp enough to turn this thing around on Assvaldo. She's such a disappointment all around. She has NEVER really paid attention in Gael's sessions and wasn't that tryst in the office from whence the pictures came at least the second time they'd gotten it on in her office? She NEEDs to lose her license and I hope that she and Assvaldo take each other down. Unfortunately, I feel there's going to be a long period of her compounding Assvaldo's abuse of Gael through her "therapy." She has definitely become a villian!

Eloisa was kind of pitiful last night, wasn't she, carrying on about how beneficent Maximo was bringing poor little orphan Roxi home. Too bad nobody else is astute or brave enough to observe Granny and notice she's also steering the ACorp ship into the rocks.

Pedro. Now HE'S pitiful. smh.

David - so nice to see you here! I hope you are doing better.

Lila - My track record? It's the pits. Any time I speculate one can almost put money on the opposite happening. I think 1/1000 times I've been right. LOL

Gracias, grazie, and thank you, Lila, for the great recap! It keeps me coming back. I listened to the eppy while doing other work on the computer and that helped a little bit.

Was this episode a chopped salad too? We seemed to jump around a little bit.

My fave line: Roxi thinks Benni is a diamond in the rough and hires a personal coach to remove all the crud and shine up all the facets of his sparkling personality. Oh the irony of Roxi hiring someone to help Benito be "presentable" in polite company. And no one has thought of this for her?

I know they're trying to write Pedro as guilty in Fed's mind so that her vengeance against him seems justified, but it's just adding to his dumbness. Why doesn't he care that a chunk of files are missing? Why did he spend more than half a second telling her not to worry about it. Her only job there is supposed to be archiving for the audits and why does he care if she wants to obsess about it when, again, it's her only job? If he paid a little more attention to his job maybe his fiancee wouldn't be helping his soon-to-be in-laws bilk the family out of their company while losing his job to his maladjusted, homicidal and perpetually angry cousin.

Dammit. I said I wasn't going to rant today.

I don't know what Diana thought was going to happen when Fi saw all those meds and the computer. She knows Fi believes Vitto's lie about the brain tumor, so why did she think Fiorella would be like "Aha! It's all a ruse! I can tell by the way he's researching the illness he told me he had!"

I was extra annoyed with the Roxi-Quina "secret from the beginning of the episode when Rox said "It's not like she's my mother!" Seriously, these people drop hints like they should (but never do) drop anvils. And then what, we're supposed to gasp when Quina actually says she's Rox's mom. What? Really? I never would have guessed! Yeah, yawn. Anibal as Diana's ex was a much bigger reveal. That I also don't care about. He's a scumbag, she's a bitter user, and I hope they both disappear and Julieta gets to keep their kid.

Gianna - Sigh. I get it: you're heartbroken. But you're also a grown-up. Or at least, you're supposed to be, so suck it up! I give you maybe two days off because your heart does actually malfunction in addition to being broken, but this is college, not high school, so get your head in the game!

Eloisa - Ugh. Just ugh.

Always awesome Lila

"informal consultation on top of her desk"

It's a great thing Osvaldo is now in charge of Quack Dynasty and await the crash and burn. Eloisa proved how little she knows of business and so readily handed power to Benigno. I learned long ago the person in charge was really the one that can say NO and make it stick.

I feel so sorry for Gianna. Ela Velden is totally believable.

Oh no, Doris! Sounds derned good to me!

I missed this one working late, so thanks for the recap Lila. Not sure I want to bother watching the antics. Sounds like I'm much better off just reading your great details.

So whatever on Roxi and really???? on Anibal. Poor little Beto. That gene pool is not for the faint of heart. Good thing he has his Grams.

It is splendid to hear that for all her high and mightiness, Eloisa is as dumb as a clock as events are declining around her. And Petey, again the WORST CEO in history, deserves just as much as she does to just lose that stupid company. Have we ever seen him really work a whole day and care a true fig about the happenings and employees outside the family. Methinks not.

Hair loss.. c'mon, we need to see Vitto figure out how to do the hair loss. We need some giggles in this thing.

<<< hugs>>> G&G (but guys...spines. Your getting older, smarter, start fighting back)

Daisynjay

Oh, gawd, Hella, I could just quote your whole comment:

If he paid a little more attention to his job maybe his fiancee wouldn't be helping his soon-to-be in-laws bilk the family out of their company while losing his job to his maladjusted, homicidal and perpetually angry cousin.

Anibal as Diana's ex was a much bigger reveal. That I also don't care about. He's a scumbag, she's a bitter user, and I hope they both disappear and Julieta gets to keep their kid.

Yup, that's the size of it! Mille grazie, sorellina! And don't you dare stop ranting!

Uh oh. Gotta do work stuff! Later!

Grazie, Tofita! I guess Granny's being hard-nosed and making "NO" stick is only for her offspring. Benigno rolled over her so easily, I believe he could get a little leg out of her if he wanted.

Hey, grazie, amica mia, Daisynjay! I feel ya, sister. Granny is dumber than a clock: even a dead one is right twice a day. It's a wonder she hadn't run the business into the ground before now what with her being just hell bent on sucking the joy out of her offspring's lives and Petey being brain dead at the helm of ACorp.

Let's just have a scene of Fifi and Gigi escaping in slow motion, their hair and floral flocks fluttering in the shock wave of the collapse of the whole Empire. (Simoneta, Quina, Fidel and, okay, Benni, will have fled earlier). Then flash a "FIN" and be done with it!

Lila, the sun shone a bit brighter when I read "Roxi thinks Benni is a diamond in the rough and hires a personal coach to remove all the crud and shine up all the facets of his sparkling personality". A real gem! :)

Excellent from start to finish as always.

I was shocked Anibal is Diana's baby's father. And yes, he seemed to smarm and leer quite effectively to my great dismay, and yes, Diana did seem to swallow it!

Last night answered one of my questions, specifically, did Eloisa know Roxi was Quina's child. Apparently she doesn't. It will be interesting to see what she does when she finds out.

I'm trying to think of someone, anyone whom I would feel sorry for once the company completely crumbles. I can't think of a blessed soul.

Wonderful Lila! Thank you.

Diana

Mille grazie, Diana! Yes, I didn't think this crew could pull off a surprise but Animal as Beto's Father WAS a surprise and you're right, Helloisa is in for an even BIGGER surprise!

The only people we can feel sorry for, Diana, are the faceless masses who produce whatever it is ACorp produces. All the players we can see, nope, not a bit of pity!

Woo hoo! Gracias, Lila! The episode made me grumpy...the recap made me laugh :D

"If she doesn't, he will use the pictures that Sonia took when she and Assvaldo were having an, um, informal consultation on top of her desk: she'd lose her liscense and her livlihood." Loved this! Ok, it sucks for Alina, but "informal consultation" is priceless!

"Pedro promises her he'll look into it and gives her a look that seems to say he realizes she's not wrapped too tightly." It's the hats, dude! I'm trying to be charitable and say that when Fed tries to talk business it all comes out like a bunch of meaningless babble because that's just Fed--she doesn't know anything about the business world and she's got her hat on too tight--but really the whole scene sounded like it was written from the POV of a child whose level of understanding doesn't extend beyond "My daddy wears a suit and tie and he works in an office." And yet, we have also had scenes like the one where Fabio, Sonia and Os pieced together what happened with the stock purchase that at least sound marginally like they're written by someone who understands those concepts. I haz a confused.

"Helloisa argues kind of weakly that Pedro would be a better candidate but Benigno's already pinned the tail on the Ass." Hahahahahaha! Tail on the Ass! Perfect!

"She fusses over him and gets water but I'm not sure he actually took anything. OD him on something, Fifi!" I'm cheering Fi on!

Aitana's father is playing the Los Angeles family like a piano. That scene where he told Helloisa that Os will be running the company was just too good. He just knows Os has an ego bigger than the universe and incompetency to match. I'm still not figuring out how he thinks Aitana's marriage to Pedro will survive it all.

I like your crackpot theory, doris! I would love for Julieta to get a chance to raise a child from infancy like she didn't get to do with Fi (I assume).

Hellashelle, I hear what you're saying about Pedro not caring about the missing files and it making him look stupid. I will say, in his defense, that it was 20 years ago so I also kind of feel like he's right that paper files that old being missing shouldn't have any bearing on what's going on with the company today, so he's not concerned. I think that's too far back for an audit. Though, here he is, captain of industry and whatnot, why is he not better skilled at dealing with people? Fed's bringing him a problem that he doesn't think is a problem, but she's already taken the initiative to research it...praise her for her initiative and ask to be kept informed.

doris, this new scheme between Os and Benigno raises the question of why Pedro and Aitana's marriage even matters anymore. Benigno is about to get his hands on the entire company, it looks like. Screw the wedding!

I don't know, if Pedro's miserably married and demoted, Osvaldo might be very happy.

I would wish that Vitto ODs on his unnecessary meds except I feel like Fi would be accused of murder and the doc that prescribed the fake meds would flee the country.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, can we get that?

Diva - I agree! I just think Pedro's part was written to play the scene too hard. Unless his point was that the stuff for the audit was not ready and should be a priority, his insisting for more than 5 seconds that it wasn't important was too much. To me, it was written to make him look guilty to Fed, otherwise it would've just been "Oh are they missing? I wouldn't worry about it, they're too old to be important at this point...Oh, you really, really want to find them?...well, I think it's probably a waste of time...Hey, if you insist, go ahead." Because why does he care if Fed goes looking for some unimportant old files?

Doris - my bad; I didn't realize you'd already theorized about Julieta getting Beto. Now that Anibal's in the picture, I can't imagine another outcome. It would pretty much necessitate Diana dying though, which would be surprising only because she hasn't done anything that bad.

"Let's just have a scene of Fifi and Gigi escaping in slow motion, their hair and floral flocks fluttering in the shock wave of the collapse of the whole Empire. (Simoneta, Quina, Fidel and, okay, Benni, will have fled earlier). Then flash a "FIN" and be done with it!"

OMG, I just love this!!!

"Doris - my bad; I didn't realize you'd already theorized about Julieta getting Beto. "
Please do not apologize. We are ALL wearing our telenovela beanie hats and our AFDBs (Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanies .... google it-LOL) under them. Don't be surprised if I offer up an idea that has already been posted. I am under the influence of chocolate as my consolation for watching this turkey. And I'm going to roast it, baste it, and turn it into turkey salad on Thursday. :-)

I don't know if my previous comment on this was ignored before but considering that the opening credits don't even show Pedro and Fiorella interacting but just staring at each other, is that telling us that they won't be together at the end of the series?

You mean the comment you made on Friday's recap? You had me panicking there! I thought you were saying a comment had gone missing and I was frantically searching the comment folders in the dashboard to see what happened to it.

I guess maybe none of us had much to say on that? It doesn't seem very likely, but who knows.

Urban - This is an astute observation that I missed, earlier, so thank you for posting it again. Fi would be better off without Pedro, since he hasn't even a clue how to FFTL beyond saying it over and over. :-p

Has that ever happened on a novela before? (Stars not ending up together) Wouldn't that be against the rules?
And thanks again and again to our recappers!
Ann C

Thanks Lila, lovely recap

"gives her a look that seems to say he realizes she's not wrapped too tightly." as compared to who, his homicidal cousin, or his batty grandma? ;)

It's all relative, sneaky.

Badum-tss!

Thank you, thank you, ladies and gentlemen. I'll be here all week. Don't forget we have a 2-drink minimum. And please remember to tip your server generously....

Hey, Diva! Mille grazie, Capitana e sorellina mia! Girl, I was beat last night when I wrote that so your appreciation is what is priceless. Grazie mille! If I can make you laugh when you're grumpy, I haz a happy!

Lila, you are a brilliant recaperist person. You
Go girl. :-D:-D:-D:-D
So the old lady don't know about roxi. Wow.
The old girl has some surprises comin her way. She didn't corral Maximo as much as she thinks she did. She's had one of his sperm dropings in her house all these years.
She and maxi boy are such hypocrites. Man
They are going to fall hard. That whole family is Built on a mountain of lies and murder. And
It takes someone nastier than they are to bring it Down. A family of liars and murderers
Poor petey, he has no idea what he's sittin on.

Whoa! Where did that comment go! A late but no less heartfelt "Mille Grazie" to Ann C, Sneaky Two Shoes, and Nina!
