Antes muerta que Lichita... #4 Friday 9/25... Roberto keeps building a chain of lies to try to get Lichita to go work with him at Iconika... gets Gumaro involved

Sorry, folks I am not sure what happened in first 5 minutes… so between Lichita singing her milk jingle and seeing Roberto with the supermarket chain owner walk toward her, I am not sure how she stumbled on the toilet paper pyramid or what Roberto or the other guy said …

At store Lichita has tumbled down a whole pyramid of toilet paper rolls (?) and the store chain owner is congratulating Roberto on a great advertising idea. The men are laughing, Lichita… not so much.

Sandra, Roberto and Don Augu are meeting at his office. Roberto assures Agu he will be very useful/productive here… Agu still using that power-dose of vanity in his voice and wording… even applying some intimidation ‘don’t forget it…’

Nacho, Elsa and lazy sis are talking about Lichita being fired and all the debt. Nacho still nagging for having let them pay for his surgery on credit.

Luciana is locked somewhere, looks like a car trunk. Pushes her pink suitcase out of the way and comes out of the back seat.

Lichita is home now, she tells them it is true they have to find a way to get the money but she will go to the agency to ask for another job.

Nacho and Elsa said something about thunder and you don’t yet get on your knees… (this must be a common saying, ok i found it... there are several versions 'estas viendo la tormenta [ or la tempestad/ or el trueno] y no te arrodillas .. .meaning you are seeing the storm/trouble coming and you still won't pray for help from above!)

Luciana is taking selfies as she walks through a mansion (Augustos?) she is annoyed at so many stair steps she has to climb.

Sandra is commenting to Aug about what I can imagine is Roberto’s resume. Sandra asks Agu if he would have dared fire her if they had not found a campaign for the ‘Mas’ supermarket chain. Agu and Sandra keep playing hard to get but she pushes him right onto the couch… you know the rest…

Luciana is trying to open a door in the house… but gives up on that one and goes into another room. Seems she knows her way around pretty well. She sighs relief…just what I needed! A beeeeeeddd!!! I am soooooo tired… (goldilocks anyone? Bears ain’t home yet)

Gumaro is talking to Roberto who is shirtless lifting some weights up his shoulders. Gumaro is hanging boxer shorts up on clothes lines in the room (LOL!) Roberto wants to figure out a way for Alicia to get a stable job again. Gumaro is sure it won’t be easy to convince her he doesn’t just want to use her again. Roberto says he will get her back in the agency and then later on he’ll figure out a way to convince her to stay.

Morning… At the house… Lichita is heading out to go find another job. Nacho would give an arm to be able to see and be able to go find a job or work…

At office, Roberto is at Sandra’s office. He has many ideas and projects in his head… He is asking Sandra about Ms Alicia Gutierrez’s contract, besides publisher, she would be great as my assistant. Sandra is impactada.

At Guti house, Elsa, Lichita and Magos are all heading out, Elsa will even work a double shift at the store. Nacho just has to stay put and get well. They end up leaving Nacho alone, but he thinks Magos is still there so he is begging her to go try to find a job.

Roberto keeps trying to convince Sandra that Alicia is great, she is already familiar/well versed on the company and the industry, have to be able to take advantage of all her background.

At employment agency, the agent is talking to Lichita about a secretary job. Lichita is resigned to start over again, remembers her first day at Iconika and is daydreaming about going to different businesses where they are looking for a secretary.

Augu’s wife walks into the bedroom and she and Luciana begin a loud scream contest…

At Guti house, Lichita comes home to find out Roberto has been waiting for her. Nacho is happy Roberto is there. Lichita asks Roberto what he is doing there. HE has a surprise for her. Here is your permanent contract at Iconika!! (she tells us that she knew deep inside that Roberto was a good guy).

Beatriz is talking to Luciana, Luciana fakes blah blah saying nothing better than family. Bea is asking what she is doing in Mex. Luciana starts a cry baby skid about things not going well wherever she was and came back home. She even gets wrapped around Tia’s legs and begs please please!! Tia seems to be recalling Luciana’s walking out on them… Luciana is faking a fainting. Bea starts shaking her and yells that it is a test by God and she has to resist it.

Roberto is still trying to convince Alicia that he is there to give her the permanent contract she had fought for very long. She drags him away and nags at him that he stole her idea and her work… She tells her dad that she doesn’t need the job at Iconika… Roberto’s turn to drag her away far far away… they walk outside, poor Nacho can’t do anything… Roberto starts enumerating some truths to her, like the debt they are in… and she starts getting even angrier and says he has no mother (he says its true, he has been orphan since he was a kid… but … he has to tell her the truth about why he stole her work… he only needs for her to give him a chance to tell her the whole story… its life and death… if you listen to me and then still won’t come work for me, he will go.

Bea tells Luciana she has to go to mass… Luciana says she would have wanted to go to thank the Virgin for having found them… Tia is buying her blah blah… she will buy whatever Luciana says, at any price. Sort of reminds me of Tia Sara in La Mentira). Bea says you can trust me, and I will go pray for you. Get some rest. Once Bea leaves, Luciana tells herself she has her eating out of her hand (just like Virginia used to do in La Mentira).

Roberto has brought LIchita to his apartment. At the door, she is like ‘you couldn’t pay me enough to come into your apt with you…’ until she hears Gumaro’s voice… … LOL!!! Gumaro is faking being a disabled brother in a wheelchair… Lichita impactada, Roberto has to cover his mouth to not burst out laughing.

Luciana is floating in pool and ordering the maid as if she owned the place… still talking about nacolandia.

Roberto stays behind Lichita so she won’t see him … while Genaro all twisted in the wheelchair keeps feeding all that disabled poor pitiful us brothers story to Lichita.

Augusto gets home and as soon as he spots Luciana in pool he is yelling and Luciana tells him who she is and he changes from yelling to a wolf face.

Gumaro keeps on with his storytelling… Roberto is giving him signals to cut it off… Gumaro keeps telling Lichita that when they were younger Roberto would take care of him and they would get kicked out of foster family homes because Roberto would get in trouble for defending him. Gumaro says Roberto would go looking for a job that would pay enough for Gumaro’s treatment but he couldn’t. Roberto tells Lichita he was about to blackmail someone… Gumaro and him start arguing … Gumaro talks about hoping some day he will stop being a burden/load on Roberto’s life… Lichita has bought the whole play act hook, line and sinker. She shakes Gumaro’s hand… Roberto hauls her away from there… (We see Lichita telling us ‘poor guy, and I thought my problems were bad’ TN rule # 12.3.004b heroine will believe anything that the hero and his family/friends tell her the first time she meets them, especially if it is a sad martyr story about the guy… Lichita, you remind me of myself believing when a friend of mine said they had an airport in his home town and I should have known better.. his town was not big enough or flat enough to be able to have an airport)) Back inside, Gumaro stands up all alone and says it worked!!

Augusto tells Luciana that neither his brother Rafael nor her exist anymore… to him they both are dead. Luciana says you are right that my dad was no hero to anyone… Agu wants her gone NOW!!! Get out of my pool!! Luciana begins to protest so Agu yells at his employee to get her out NOW!!! And also get someone to replace the pool water when you’re done! Luciana yells at the guy not to get close to her while she splashes some water his way… LOL! Is this her best defense??

Roberto keeps milking Lichita on the storyline of the martyr brother… and she continues to buy it. He uses the moment to convince her to come work with him. HE says he has some experience in publicity but he was rushed and had no time to prepare a campaign like the one she put together. Lichita says your approach was very wrong… but what you did was not SOOOOO bad. It is not easy for me to trust people. HE swears that he will find a way to compensate her. If he is sure of anything is that she is very valuable. She is shivering at the way he ‘looks at me’.

Back to the Pool, the guy is dragging Luciana with air filled lounger and all. Luciana is giving him a shower which is only raining over wet since he is already soaked from having walked into the pool fully suited. Mrs comes and yells something, then goes back out. Luciana warns the guy he won’t be able to get her out of the pool. Then he plays being a shark, swimming under where she is. She panics and yells at him to stay away.

Roberto keeps begging Alicia to come work for him. She tells us that deep inside she felt bad for him… and wonders if she would go so far to get something for her family. Back to reality. She agrees to work with him. He has to convince her to let him drive her home. She likes his car, he confesses it is borrowed, he needs to start getting paychecks at work. (again, this might be my wishful thinking but I feel iike Lichita is finding and touching a tender spot on him that even he might not be able to control).

Luciana and the soaked guy… he is grabbing her hand… she is fighting him and keeps splashing water on him (LOL!)

Mrs and Agu are arguing that he keeps claiming that Luciana is not his relative… she doesn’t exist. Mrs keeps asking him to learn to forgive. Beatriz (Tia/MRs) hears Luciana yelling for her from the pool, Luciana yells that the guy is killing her, is breaking her foot, etc).

Beatriz and Agu are heading back to the pool. Now Luciana is on a lounge chair and the Doctor is looking at her ankle… he says she only has a contusion… Doctor will prescribe some pain meds for her. Agu keeps saying Luciana has to go. Go to Patagonia!!! (LOL!!) Beatriz is consoling Luciana and tries to vow for her to Agu. He ends up giving in, he will let Luciana stay but only for 2 or 3 days! No more!

At Guti house Nacho tells Luciana that he was right in saying she would get that job at Iconika… Elsa asks if that Roberto was the guy who stole her idea… Lichita says no, it was another guy. Nacho is happy, now the only way for Lichita is to go up… up the corporate ladder. Lichita is content of how things turned out. Here comes little cute niece… Lichita tells her that things will get better now… she has new opportunities. Nacho starts giving Magos some indirect suggestions (he wants her to go out find a job). She rolls her eyes and nags ‘here he goes again’.

At the office, Roberto arrives. He even gets someone to drive his car for him, he comments that the car doesn’t have enough gas to make it ot the parking spot. Seems Gumaro followed him to the building, they start commenting about him being able to convince Lichita… Gumaro comments that if he could convince Lichita and make him play the disabled brother, he can do anything.

Lichita tells herself… I know he stole my project… but can I really trust him?

Previews: Roberto takes Lichita hand gliding… which is a totally out of her comfort zone. Lichita goes into what looks like a birthday party… suddenly a small boy asks Roberto ‘Daddy, daddy is that you?’

Comments:
Lichita was running to avoid Roberto seeing her when she ran into the toilet paper.

Sounds like you really didn't miss much.

Lichita put Roberto on the spot and asked how Roberto plans to get the donations to the recipients before the expiration date. (Clearly I've missed something this week. I'll have to go back and read Jarifa's recap. I think that was the one where Lichita's mom explained about having to sell products before they expired and she mentioned donations....I think.)

Roberto of course had no answer. Lichita had to bail him out. (Something about strict control of expiration dates.)

Don Augusto sent his RoboGuard(Draco) to get rid of Luciana and then take some golf clubs home. Luciana snuck into the trunk with the golf clubs.

The original problem was they were being required to throw things out before the expiration date at the store when people could still be eating the food.

Oh I love this phrasing, Marta: ...power-dose of vanity in his voice and wording

(Thanks for the explanation, Jarifa. That's what was vaguely going through my mind.)

*dives back into recap*

I thought Roberto had pretended to be a valet parker and had stolen some dude's car for a while and then returned it to him and Gumaro came and picked him up on the moto.

I just hate all his lies.

Luciana's father was a mediocre painter in Argentina. Augusto is mad that his brother was never in touch. I thought I saw a bunch of subtitles go by in a rush that said something about somebody (either Luciana's father or grandfather) dying intestate? Or were these subtitles just floating by from some other show? :)

The guy in the pool is Don Augusto's guard dog.

Thanks for the recap!

Marta, thank you for yet another wonderful recap. I sure enjoyed it and your TN rule!

Guess that my favorite part was when Draco goes submarine and starts menacing Luciana from underwater. That whole pool scene had me laughing.

Next favorite was Gumaro being "the invalid brother" with the genetic illness. I couldn't believe he actually raised one hand with the other to shake hands with Lichita.

Third favorite when Mr. "Más" Ontiveros asks Lichita if she had hurt one if her udders when she fell. Also, included is when Roberto tries to pick her up by the udders on her costume.

We learned that Roberto became an orphan when his mom died after his dad had already left them.

That is all for now. I laughed a lot!

That's bizarre, Jane. The dying in intestate line was from Muchacha italiana, the show that comes on before Lichita.

Marta-you always entertain! And I don't think I will ever stop being amazed and in awe of your speed.

A couple more lines I liked:

...goldilocks anyone? Bears ain’t home yet...

Hahaha!! I love the "TN rule # 12.3.004b heroine will believe anything that the hero and his family/friends tell her the first time she meets them, especially if it is a sad martyr story about the guy" and the story of younger you.

Ok. The Gumaro as the disabled brother scene. It was so wrong. But I laughed. And I kind of feel guilty about it.

Uy. Que vergüenza!

Gracias, Marta!

Roberto picking Lichita up by the "ubre" was hilarious!

Luciana trying not to cry out in pain when her hand got slammed was another LOL for me.

There was just so much "funny" !

Loved how Luciana played Beatriz.

This has been a great premiere week!

The Beatriz actress was on Por siempre me amor And played an abused woman. She was very convincing. She is so different here. I like her.

Marta, most excellent! (goldilocks anyone? Bears ain’t home yet) had me laughing out loud.

Jarifa, I also laughed when Roberto was trying to pick the cow up by the udders. It looked as though the actor was having a hard time keeping a straight face.

One of the other highlights of the night was Luciana. The actress made a real splash in the pool scene (sorry, couldn't help it) trying to get away from the mechanical Jaws. Sara, I also laughed at her facial contortions when the car trunk got slammed down on her hand. She's a whiner but she makes it funny instead of cringe worthy.

I am a bit uncomfortable with the "martyr brother" ploy. I wish Roberto had been honest with Lichita (and us) as to what his real deal is.

Don Agu and Sandra? Their scene was antiseptic. They had zilch chemistry. When she threw him on the couch, it looked as though the timing was off and I think she kissed the air (or close to it) rather than him.

I'm so enjoying Maite. This is fun.

Diana

You know, when Don Aug and Sandra first went at it my first thought was "awww... But Beatriz really loves him!" So chemistry or no, I didn't like it.

But dang it Eduardo is cracking me up with that man purse.

i have worked at the food bank quite a bit sorting food and can understand the rules on food donation. you have up to a month after expiration date here in the US for non-canned food products... and a year after expiration date for canned products. Anything outside that window or not labeled or label does not include the ingredients and you have to throw it out...
Maybe at the Mas supermarkets or in Mex you only have until expiration date, so the window is much tighter to get food from the store shelves to families that can consume the food...

" . . . real splash in the pool scene". . That was a good one, Diana.

Got home late, but had to sneak in my recording of Lichita before bed. And then the double treat of a Marta recap. Yay!

I think everyone caught all the things you were unclear about, Marta.

I don't believe Luciana has ever been to her tio's home in Mexico before, having grown up in Argentina. Hence why she didn't know where the house was and had to sneak into the car trunk, didn't know where the bedrooms were, and was told to go back to Patagonia by her tio. I wonder why he hates his brother and his family so much?

So many funny moments that had me laughing out loud. The cow costume, toilet paper pyramid disaster, and the attempt to pick Lichita up by her udders. The car scene with Luciana. Luciana and Draco in the pool. The fake paralyzed brother (yes, it's so wrong). Roberto as fake valet parker returning his car to the clueless guy. Great episode.

Thanks for the information about donations and food banks, Marta.

Now that I've had time to process, I'm catching on. Lichita's mother inspired Lichita to create a whole campaign around donating food. Duh. "Donde más necesita" *facepalm at myself*

Crap. Gotta comment bomb. Disculpe.

I've been thinking that one reason I am so impressed with Maite is that she has not overdone the comedy. It has been very subtle; even the physical stuff.

I love Big Ed and Amores con trampa will always hold a special place in my heart, but sometimes he seemed a little over exaggerated and like he was trying too hard.

So far I am liking this so much more than the parts of QPob that I saw.

Really good Marta and a big thanks.

"only raining over wet since he is already soaked"

I laughed the whole way through every night, well except for the sad corner Lichita continues to be tossed into only to crawl right out.

Can't get enough of Arath de la Torre & Maite. They are great together.

I hoped Roberto was going to use a legitimate excuse not fooling the poor girl with a wheelchair bound brother. Roberto is really a turd.

No problem with the silliness from Maite but for me the Luciana stuff seems over done. Kinda weird for me cause I've not been a big fan of Maite but love her portrayal of Lichita but do like Ingrid Martz but not impressed here.

Sara, Gabriela Platas is Beatriz, played Andrea in PSMA and recently a small part in Hasta, both kinda a mousey mother part. So different here

Word, tofie! I'm really liking Maite and Arath together. He is certainly a cad, but I see so much likeability (is that a word) in him!

Ingrid is a bit over the top, but I'm going to reserve judgement for a couple more episodes. I'm trying to figure out what age group she's supposed to be in. She's acting like maybe she's supposed to be early to mid twenties? If she's supposed to be older then the histrionics are going to get old. Well, they will no matter what.

Gracias, Marta! I loved the recap, especially your Goldilocks line :D

Are we supposed to like Roberto? Every time I start to, he ruins it with something like the "brother in a wheelchair" gag. Wouldn't the truth be easier?

"Lichita has bought the whole play act hook, line and sinker." I was so disappointed. But it serves the plot so...ok.

"Then he plays being a shark, swimming under where she is." As much as her shrieking annoyed me, that bit was really funny. The guy did a good job of not cracking a smile throughout all those scenes.

I noticed some the pillows on Goldilocks' borrowed bed had crochet covers. And the yellow and grey pillows on Lichita's couch are a really bulky knit. Just some little touches that caught my eye :)

Omg those bulky knit pillows!! They were all I was looking at. I didn't even pay attention to what they were saying.

I love Lichita's house and her parents are so wonderful. I hate that Magos is such a vaga.

I admit, I needed to read the recap for that bit (so thanks again Marta!) because I was too busy thinking about how I would make pillow covers like that and what kind of yarn I would use and what colors and...and...and....

And and some of it was cable work wasn't it? Ay! That would be murder on the wrists.

I thought Arath was older than 40. I should have realized his gray hair aged him a bit. I actually love gray hair - hub had it early on and I always think it made him seem distinguished.

Kat, I wish we knew Roberto's deal. I am pretty peeved at what he did to Lichita and the fact he is perpetuating the initial lies with the brother with a disability untruth, is not endearing him. At all.

I am enjoying Arath though (especially with Maite) and look forward to his repenting and changing for the better.

Diana

Diana- I have no idea how your comment made me think of this, but last night the camera panned some photos in the Don Augusto house. One appeared to be Beatriz with her (kind of goofy looking) daughter. I'm going to go back and try and get a better look. I'm super curious about those children.

Sara, I'm embarrassed to say I didn't notice the pictures.

I really like Beatriz and am looking forward to more of her storyline.

Diana

I don't even know why they caught my eye! It could be nothing. I may be making a mystery out of a molehill. It's just that Beatriz had to remind her husband they even had a daughter and he mumbled through that part of the speech so quickly that I already feel bad for the girl.

I'm definitely sitting at the Beatriz table.

Hey, my dvr recorded a summary of the week of Lichita that apparently came on at 3pm today. How handy. Wonder if they will do that every week, or just this first week.

Looks like I've got a Lichita bonus episode on the DVR, too! I bet it is just for the first week or two.

Thanks, Marta. So much of the episode was physical and you describe it so well.

Gumaro and Roberto faking that Gumaro is his disabled brother in a wheelchair was so so wrong!, but I was laughing my head off. Steve Martin and Michael Caine pulled that same con in the comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels but the Lichita version is funnier, I think because Gumaro was all in but Roberto kept signaling for him to take it down a notch or two or three.

ITA the formal dressed butler trying to get Luciana on her floatie out of the pool was hilarious. Let's see, she's lazy, sneaky, and chockful of self-entitlement. I don't blame Augusto one bit for not wanting her staying in his home.

Beatriz dresses primly and seems to be super busy with her charity work, while Augusto does his thing (including Sandra). Beatriz seems to love him, but I wonder if he married her for business or social purposes. Also wondering about the age of the kids and why they don't live at home.

Niecie, thanks for the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels comparison. That was a fantastic movie.

"the Lichita version is funnier, I think because Gumaro was all in but Roberto kept signaling for him to take it down a notch or two or three" made me laugh. Totally agree with your assessment (though it's hard to top Steve Martin). I now have an urge to see DRS. Too funny.

Diana

I watched a bunch of episodes of Sherlock last night and kept thinking that Arath looks like Martin Freeman. Yet somehow I was finding Martin Freeman way more attractive. Maybe because his character isn't trying to con anyone. Yeeeeeah, it's still bugging me.

There really is a lot to take in--not just in terms of information, but visually. Lots of little details in the set decoration and props. I never feel like I'm getting all of it.

I'm going to have to add Dirty Rotten Scoundrels to my list of movies I need to watch (when I become independently wealthy and have all the time in the world.)

5ft-There really is a lot to take in. I find myself wanting to rewatch pretty much every episode.

Kat and Sara, thank you.

I had been berating myself because I feel like things are going at an accelerated speed and I feel I'm missing way too much.

I'm glad I'm not alone.

Kat, I see what you mean about Martin and Arath. I thought Martin was perfectly cast as Watson but equally so as Bilbo.

Diana

You are definitely not alone, Diana! I've had whiplash all week. This is the kind of show that makes me so grateful for a patio!

Thanks for your great recap Marta---Your goldilocks line was hilarious.. Everyone seemed to like it.

I did laugh at Luciana fending off the bodyguard by splashing water on him. That was so funny. If I splash him with water after he is already in the pool, maybe he will go away.

Sara---Ingrid, over the top? Isn't she always? Shut up Doris. I wonder if she is typecast into that kind of role?

Gumaro the fake disabled brother. Don't know but I would think that he will be found out. How long can you pull that off without being caught?

So Lichita has her job back. Will she be able to run with it and leave Roberto in the dust?

must see tv
the gringo

Marta - thank you for the recap. I loved the Goldilocks reference, too. :-)

Just finished watching the episode. What a hoot between Luciana hysterics, Gumara and Augusto's bodyguard. I normally do not like comedies but this actually had me in stitches.

Thanks Marta for filling in a lot of the gaps I missed. Ditto to those who remarked there is so much going on that its hard to catch everything (visually and verbally).

Niecie: Augusto mentioned that his son is completing his studies in some american university. And he mumbled something about his daughter that I didnt catch during the Iconika party. I am sure they will be making their appearances soon.

While I hated that Lichita believed Gumaro and Roberto's lies, at least she is not completely naive. She does question at the end whether she should truly trust Roberto. Which allowed me to loosen my beanie regarding that plot point.

Is it just me or does it look like all Don Augusto does is sit in office and "look" important.

Cece: Augusto hasn't done or said anything that I've seen or heard to justify his position in the company.

If Roberto is seen as something of a savior, I have been wondering who has been brainstorming to keep things afloat before his arrival. Lichita? In addition to being rather cruel and heartless, I do think Sandra is not unintelligent, but again, the reaction to a complete stranger becoming the savior is very strange. I have a sneaking suspicion Don Augusto will not be singing Roberto's praises along with (almost) everyone else.

I fear Augusto's time is taken mainly keeping his outsized ego inflated. What a pompous bore.

Diana

I got the impression that maybe Elias was the idea guy/creative genius? Sandra was maybe the front woman? The one going to meetings and making the presentations to the clients? With the exit of Elias, Sandra may have panicked.

I really hope Elias comes back.

Hunh. I'm rewatching the episode and Sandra even says she wants to verify Roberto's resume since there are so many "vivales" (smooth operators) in the business. Don Augusto says the only thing that matters to him is that Roberto can come up with good ideas.

So why does Sandra accept his idea in the first place if she still wants to get his resume checked? How did Roberto even get the chance to present?

Am I asking for too much realism?

My impression is that this Mas account was really important to Iconika. Elias was freaking out about it because of all his other responsibilities, that he couldnt devote enough time to come up with a brilliant idea. So they pretty much had nothing when Elias left. I guess Roberto took this to his advantage since they were pretty much locked into a set meeting to present to the owner of Mas without anyone heading the project. Even Lichita saw this as a way to seal a permanent position in the company (well if she could get anyone to actually take her seriously that is).

Marta, thanks for a super recap. I missed the first half due to hubby's sports watching, so missed the toilet paper disaster.
The suited staff guy walking calmly into the pool to evict Luciana was hilarious. Her splashing was funny, but didn't deter him in the least. Loved his shark impersonation.
Robert and Gumaro--wrong, but made me laugh. I'm hoping/trusting that Robert will show some truthiness to Lichita soon.
Sylvia Pasquale is dialed down as Lichita's mom vs. snobby mom in QPTR, but enjoying Lichita's parents. Dad wearing the glasses over his bandages cracks me up.

Thanks everyone for filling in what I missed (and what I did not see since I did not watch ep 2...) and Sara, I totally missed the mens bag in Eduardo... he is such a lazy self-entitled character... Luciana might have no spent much time with him but there is so much they have in common...
and I agree, Sara. Elias must have been the 'Luigi'(LFMB designer) of this company... and Sandra must have been the 'face of the company' to clients. it usually works that way... remember young Pierce Brosnan in Remington Steele? it was the same but backwards. he was INTENTIONALLY hired to be the 'face/name of the company' while she did the hard work of investigations.

CeCe-thanks for that insight. It makes sense. Roberto must have gathered enough info about Sandra's desperation to finagle a chance to present his stolen idea. Yeah. Now that I'm thinking about it, he saw and heard a lot that first episode.

La Paloma-Sylvia is very different in this, but still enjoyable. She seems to be playing the straight-(wo)man. I really liked what I saw of her in QPTR (Porca miseria!)

Marta-I've caught the Luigi character a few times while cruising through channels (LFMB is rerunning on TLnovelas.) He's really funny. I really hope we get Elias back. He seemed to like Lichita and was willing to give her a chance.

I think Vivi was the first to notice the man purse.

Marta and Diana-I am setting up a small, unassuming table in the dark shadows of the patio for myself. Don Augusto is indeed a pompous, inflated, lazy, self-entitled bore....but he cracks me up every time!

Again with the comment bombs!

While watching the second time, I did pick up the name of Augusto and Beatriz's daughter - Dafne.

Sara, I would sit at any Elias/Diego (is that Lichita's friend at Iconika?) or Beatriz table... as far as Augusto and Luciana, I think they are a big part of the comic relief here... and although they seem exaggerated at times, we can't help but laugh at their gimmicks so I am ok with them so far...
Add me also to the ones who LOVE LOVE the chemistry/pairing between Arath and Maite so far. I believe Arath has the chops to pull a very complex (scheming on the outside, but with a good heart somewhere deep inside) guy whom we love to analyze.

Completely with you on the Arath/Maite pairing. It's going to be great to watch. I am looking forward to the analysis of Roberto as well!

Sorry, meant to say I would sit at any Elias or Braulio (not Diego) or Beatriz table.

Sara, loathe the character but I will join you at Eduardo Santamaria's table anytime.

I'll order the drinks...

Diana

Yes, It's definitely the Eduardo Factor that is making me laugh at Don Augusto. Perhaps the patio bartender could invent a drink for us-"The Manpurse"?
