Last week there was a chemical spill (BAD) and oozing chemistry(GOOD).

Slick Rick(™ Vivi) is in cahoots with Pedro. Pedro's men hold up the Conatrol drivers and take the tank full of toxic dye (yeah, there's a brand name...anyone remember what it is?)

Anotonio was one step ahead of them and put a tracker on the truck and the tank. Unfortunately, the truck with the toxic chemical crashes and the waterways are contaminated.

Conatrol is a stand up company that actually cares about the community. They are doing everything they can to help the community. Sebastian may soon be moving to San Gaspar.

Sara makes herself indispensable to Antonio and the audience swoons.

Recapping schedule for this week:
Monday highlights: Sara
Tuesday highlights: Sara
Wednesday recap: Sara
Thursday recap: Diva
Friday recap: Denise

Thanks ladies!

Thanks for posting up la vecina page Sara, and I can do today's recap.

jlk

You are the bomb diggety, jlk!! I thank you! I look forward to it :D

Oh my gosh, today's episode. I now see why Quique is so insecure. Rafa totally has an ojo alegre. But does her like Sebas or Tonio?

Thanks for getting the post set up, Sara. Hmm, looking at those poll results, maybe we have too many likeable people on this show :D On second thought, I can live with that!

I believe the dye is Cetrocal?

Vivi, I'm so disappointed. Sure, sure, with Quique it's all "I keep my personal and professional life separate," but now he's checking out Sebastian and Antonio? I'm hoping he's just excited at the prospect that maybe if there are other gay men in upper management he can come out and know his job isn't at risk. But quit checking out your boss, dude! I want my professional, dependable Rafa back!

Right?! Keep it professional, Rafa.

I'm watching right now and I need confirmation - Marina knew about Rafa, right? So he's not hiding it from everyone?

Sara- Yes. Marina obviously knows about Rafa, and she's telling him to not get him hopes up about Tonio and Sebas.

Typos: HIS hopes up. And who does HE like? I can't type today.

Just making sure. And I totally agree about him keeping it professional.

Soooo... I'm kind of hoping Roque might be in Rafa's future. Start laughing at me.

Rafa totally checked out Ant's fanny!

OK, so aside from Rafa totally jumping to conclusions and being unprofessional, I do think it's absolutely adorable the way that Tonio and Sebas speak to each other, and how much they care about and relate to each other in a non-macho way (e.g. Cheo and Roque). Sara, well, we've never seen Roque with a girlfriend or an interest in a girl, so who knows...

Gah! My bad. I wasn't paying attention. Just a random dude.

Though it might be interesting to see Rafa and Quique work things out. I sort of feel for Quique now.

Awww Fidel feels overshadowed by Simon and his rocket :(
(Insert joke here) eg -don't worry your cop tools are cool too ( cmon you know you were thinking it too)

sneaky two shoes, nothing can compare to Simon's rocket :p

Vivi, hmmm, Antonio and Sebastian would be distracting to me if I had to work with them. Maybe I need to cut Rafa some slack :D

Sara and Vivi, I'm seeing parallels between Rafa and Pedro on Muchacha..."I told you from the beginning...you knew this was the way it was going to be...oh he/she is just my cousin/a tourist." Yeah, Quique and Tania would have a lot to talk about.

Kat- They're so adorably cute and dorky, that I'd be distracted by them too. But I'd be better about hiding it than Rafa.

Vivi, I think it would be very difficult for me not to say "Boys, boys...you're both pretty." And possibly ruffle their hair. Or pinch their cheeks. *sigh* It's a good thing I don't have to work with them :D

But can either of them dance?

Sara, well, Antonio does good at living room ballet, at least while he's drunk :D

Ah... I had forgotten about that.

You all are so funny!

Antonio definitely has an "ojo alegre." He was checking out three guys in one episode: Antonio, Sebastian and the random guy at the airport.

8/31 PART 1

-Sara gets all sad face with how Antonio gushes on and on about how all they have between
them is a great friendship. She leaves in a huff. Antonio doesn’t understand what he said.

-Sara goes back to her apartment and complains to Simon & Bruno about Tonio before heading to her room. The doorbell rings & despite Sara’s yell not to answer it Simon opens the door (it’s his place after all). And surprise surprise it’s Antonio. Simon lays it on him to leave Sara alone.

-The next day Antonio visits Sara at El Molcajete to tell her the good news. Lic. Uribe has seen how capable she is, and Antonio is again offering her a job position with CONATROL. He takes her acceptance as a given & tells her they can now finally be together. She replies “you mean together at work right?” Of course that’s what Antonio meant. Sara promptly slows his horses by telling him that she can’t accept, because she has to take care of her business. “Whhhatt?” Sara tells him that she bought the restaurant from Pedro. She still has to pay rent for the space, but she’s the proud owner of El Molcajete. Tonio the Tonto is upset that she didn’t consult it with him. He doesn’t believe that Pedro would provide a generous business deal. Yeah, Sara says, well tough cookies! (At least that’s what I got). Antonio leaves.

-Antonio wanders to his free therapy & booze hangout (Nachito’s place). He lets out his sorrows. Nacho reasonably tells him “What did you expect? Ya’ll don’t have any type of formal relationship for her to tell you everything in her life” Antonio questions him on whether he ever thought about leaving San Gaspar. I think he says that no, he finally saw the light & all that jazz about his new life outlook. Nacho laughingly goes on to tell him that his wife left with his kids, but knows she’ll be back when she runs out of money. [I know you’re high on life Nacho, but this doesn’t seem like a laughing matter. Methinks you’re hiding some hurt.] He also confides to Tonio that not only did CONATROL give him money when he left, but he also receives a monthly pension. But shhhhhh…..the wife doesn’t know & thinks that he spent all the liquidation money on his new business.

-And speaking of harpies, Nacho’s wife goes to speak to a divorce lawyer. The lawyer asks if her husband receives any type of pension. Not that the wife is aware of. Don’t worry, slime ball lawyer says, I’ll make sure you get everything you deserve.

-Eduardo goes to speak to Uribe in CONATROL HQ about Antonio. Uribe tries to reassure him that Tonio is doing excellent job in his position. Eduardo says that he thought as friends Uribe would have told him about the attempts on Tonio’s life, and that he wouldn’t have had to find out through the news. URIBE: “Well…..Antonio didn’t want you to worry.” EDUARO: “I’m a parent how can I not worry, especially with all the going ons happening in the San Gaspar plant.” Uribe lets him know that Sebas will be going to San Gaspar as well. Later we see Eduardo stop by Sebas’ office. He tells him how happy he is that Antonio won’t be by himself anymore. They need to be careful & take every type of precaution. The situation is delicate with the robberies. [Is his parent spidey sense telling him something?? His precaution seemed very ominous to me.]

jlk

8/31 PART 2

-Tonio calls Sebas to chew him out for sending the email. He says sorry but humorously continues that “If God knows, let the whole world know….don’t we make a cute couple guero chulo”. Antonio is not in the mood. Ok, Sebas says, I just wanted to let you know that I’ll be there tomorrow. How are things going over there? Antonio replies “Bad! I offered Sara the position in the area you’re heading up & she said NO. She told me that she has her business to take care of. She bought a restaurant & didn’t even tell me!” Sebas doesn’t think that she has to consult everything with Antonio. [That’s two for two with the same advice Antonio, maybe just maybe you should listen.] Tonio brushes that off & says the point is they can’t count on her. Sebas thinks that’s a shame, she would have been great “me va ser falta”. Me too Antonio agrees. Sebas raises both eyebrows at this. “What? I thought everything was going great with Isa.” He tries to backtrack by saying that’s not what he meant (liar), it’s just that he doesn’t think they’ll find someone as capable. Sebas ends the conversation by saying Tonio’s dad put him in charge of Antonio, so he’ll officially be his nanny in San Gaspar.

-Marina & Rafa are still giggling over the situation over whether Antonio is or is not gay.

M: He’s engaged to his girlfriend.
R: *scoff* That doesn’t mean anything. I know many who are married & even have kids.
M: But the ingeniero is very manly.
R: And I’m not?
M: Well yes but what about Sara and all the drama they have?
R: It’s just a cover up. I know what I’m talking about. I have an eye for these kind of things.
M: I have eyes too, and if I didn’t see how he looks at Sara I would believe you. But those two are in love…don’t delusion yourself Rafe. [Too late]

Stalemate, neither agrees with the other.

-Natalie helps Sebas pack. She makes him swear that he’ll be on his best behavior. He says Ok, but jokes about why he brought new undies. She’s not amused. A case of opposite attracts if I ever did see one. He smooches her worries away.

-Bedsheets with Isa & Rick. Same conversation they usually have. R: I want you only for myself. I: Don’t worry you do have me. Smooches all around. Rick thought bubbles “ You’re really going to be mine when you finally get disappointed with Antonio. And with la vecina by his side that’ll happen sooner rather than later.”

-Family dinner time with the Chavez family & Tia Edwina. Vladimir needs help in creating a science experiment for school. After he shoots down his dad’s idea, Edwina suggest asking Simon in helping build a bottle rocket. Everyone is happy except Fidel.

-Sara gets homes & chit chats with Simon. Business is still rocky at the restaurant. Well things are going great with Simon & Bruno so if she needs any financial assistance let him know. Then we get a cute phone call from Vladimir asking Simon for help with his project.

-Antonio is contemplating the day’s events at his apartment. He goes over the conversation he had with Sara. “I’m nothing in her life. She didn’t even tell me about something so important.” His dad calls, they catch up on life.

-Next day, Rafa picks up Sebas at the airport. He (Sebas) jokingly comments he see how important he is in Antonio life since he didn’t even pick him up himself. More fodder for Rafa’s “Yes He Is” campaign. Sebas catches Rafa checking out a guy walking by, and seems to understand who he bats for. Rafa has a “oh crap” moment.

8/31 Part 3

-Rick is checking out a “cribz to rent” website to impress Isa. His sidekick lackey (David?) lets him know that Sara is still not on the payroll. Rick doesn’t understand why Tonio hasn’t hired Sara now that he is at liberty to do so.

-Cheo calls to bother, annoy, talk to Sara about meeting up in San Gaspar tonight. Fine she replies. [Cheo get the hint already.] He also manages to call Antonio at CONATROL. Cheo tells him to meet him tonight at the park or else. Tonio pretty much tells the idiot to get lost. Sebas thinks they should meet up because eventually Cheo will find him. It seems that Cheo has some nefarious plan to look good in front of Sara. Roque thinks it will backfire because Sara knows how Cheo acts.

-Rafe tell Marina that Sebas caught him checking out a guy. He's worried that he’s going to tell Antonio. He acts amiable towards both of them with they go into Tonio’s office & offers to get them coffee.

-Simon gives a presentation to Vladimir’s very enthusiastic & very loud class.

-Sebas starts questioning Antonio over Rafa.

S: Is he always very friendly & accommodating towards you?
A: Yes.
S: Stays at work late?
A: Yes.
S: Does he admire/look up to you?
A: I’m not sure about that.
S: Well be careful because I think you have an admirer.

Cara de WTH from Antonio. Just then Rafe walks in with the coffee. Awkward looks all around.

jlk

I would so be crushing on Antonio & Sebastian if I worked with them. I agree that they're just too cute. Makes me wish I studied engineering....

Sara: Sara makes herself indispensable to Antonio and the audience swoons. For a minute there I forgot that our protagonist was also called Sara, and assumed you inserted yourself in there. I got jealous and thought "Hey I want to make myself indispensable to Antonio as well" LOL I think I'm enjoying this show too much :)

jlk

Oh and I also forgot two little scenes.(actually might be more little scenes because my recording was acting wonky today so feel free to add!)

-Padre V continues his white lie to Atila(?) about the jaibolera & that the one he has is only a copy.

-Isa proves what a great friend she is by working up Natalie about Sebastian's' job transfer. She says that she thought Antonio was faithful too and look what happened.

jlk

jlk - Love your recap!

Favorite lines:

"Antonio wanders to his free therapy & booze hangout (Nachito’s place)."Ha ha - so true!

"He (Sebas) jokingly comments he see how important he is in Antonio life since he didn’t even pick him up himself. More fodder for Rafa’s “Yes He Is” campaign." Well said!

And then there is this one:
"R: It’s just a cover up. I know what I’m talking about. I have an eye for these kind of things." Apparently Rafa's Gaydar is broken.

Tks Denise! I think that Antonio is the one Rafe is crushing on, so he's going to cram all those puzzle pieces together any way he can. Pobre Quique.

jlk

*AND a correction on the recap. This paragraph goes between PART 1 and PART 2*

-Back in San Gaspar, Marina accidentally receives an email from Sebas to Antonio. It reads “Since I know you can't live without me, I've sped up my trip. We'll see each other tomorrow darling”. Viewership can hear Sebas’ jokey voice over, but Marina takes it at face value. And let the misunderstandings commence! She shows Rafa who immediately smiles like Christmas came early this year. He says all the clues point to them being a couple. “Please Marina I need you investigate everything you can. I need to know if Ingeniero Andrade is……” Which is where Antonio walks in. “If I’m what Sr. Padilla?” Rafa clears his throat “Um nothing Ingeniero nothing”. Marina hands the email to Antonio. She & Rafa stare expectantly at Tonio while he reads it. He gives a brief thank you before heading into his office [I can't really describe it but kudos to the actor at the way his face subtly changed while he read it knowing what it must look like. Priceless hahaha]

jlk

Mil gracias, jlk! I appreciate your doing this recap... and in grand style, too. The Yes He Is campaign was a funny quip, but I loved all your asides. Especially the ones when Antonio was whining about ProtaSara didn't tell him about the restaurant. You can't have it both ways, buddy.

I'm not going to express it well, but one of the endearing things about Antonio is his complete ignorance about relationships. He and Isa must have always been more like a business partnership. It was Sebas who had to explain how he screwed up with the "friend" speech. And the look on Antonio's face when it clicked was so telling. Here he thought he had said some sweet stuff to ProtaSara and he really just crushed her. What a dolt... But not a mean spirited dolt. He really meant it in a good way because the best relationships also have a spirit of deep friendship and support. Just break up with Isa!

jlk, if you are enjoying this show too much then that may mean I have an addiction!

I really hope that they do the Rafa story right and that Sebas and Antonio don't act like idiots when they confirm that Rafa is gay. I do feel terribly sorry for Quique.

Who was it that suggested ProtaSara? I need to remember to use it more when I comment.

BTW jlk.... You'll never know which Sara made herself indispensable bwahaha! ;-)

jlk- I loved every bit of your recap, including the bits you included later.

I love the Yes He Is campaign. Ha! Indeed, Rafa's gaydar is broken, which isn't a good thing if you're gay.

Sara- It's so true that Antonio had no idea the deep friendship speech was killing Sara bit by bit. He thought he was giving her the highest praise. I did think it was ironic that Simon recognized this and got on Tonio's case, but HE has continually called Edwina "just a friend" to her face, in front of her to other people, and to anyone who will listen. Hmmm... Someone needs to spell it out for him too.

Thank you for the Monday recap, jlk!

"Antonio wanders to his free therapy & booze hangout (Nachito’s place)." I love how Nacho has turned into Antonio's mentor/bartender/Yoda. He really is a future version of Antonio, if Antonio were to marry Isa.

"Later we see Eduardo stop by Sebas’ office." Oh, I totally thought they were going to go for the humor of Eduardo interrupting Sebastian and Natalia. I think I'm glad they didn't go there!

"Cheo tells him to meet him tonight at the park or else." That so perfectly captures the tone of that call. Grow up, Cheo! Grow up and go away!

"Padre V continues his white lie to Atila(?) about the jaibolera & that the one he has is only a copy." This just keeps making my jaw drop. He's a priest! He's not supposed to be lying! Isn't that in the handbook?

"Viewership can hear Sebas’ jokey voice over, but Marina takes it at face value." The only thing that's keeping this from annoying me is that I assume that Antonio and Sebastian aren't going to freak out about Rafa being gay. If I thought for a minute it would get him fired, that would really sour me on this whole plot.

Sara, "one of the endearing things about Antonio is his complete ignorance about relationships." I think I know what you mean. At least we know he's not doing it on purpose, he's just clueless. It still hurts all the same, but that takes some of the sting out of it.

Vivi, I nominate Fidel to tell Simon that Edwina's not "just a friend."

I totally missed that irony Vivi! Boy am I glad I've got the patio to pint things out to me!

Antonio's relationship ignorance is annoying, but he always looks so crushed about messing up AGAIN that I can't be mad. He's trying so hard to keep Sara a part of his life and not mad at him. But he can't seem to make the biggest gesture- kick Isa to the curb!

About to work on some highlights now. I lost a little respect for Sebastian today for a couple of reasons. I may need some patio character analysis...either for validation or to explain that I misunderstood some of his actions.

I'm starting to worry for Inge Nacho - if his wife and her slimy lawyer really go all out to get him, who has he got to go to? Other people go to him with their troubles but he just seems to keep all his troubles inside. What if they take away his business and pension and he doesn't ask for help when he needs it?
Oooh just had an idea, he could be the community outreach director, he seems to get along with the people in the area and know most everyone, and knows how to manage an organization pretty well.

OH!!! That is BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!! I hope you are right, sneaky!!!

If he went back to CONATROL wouldn't they stop and ask for him to return his pension payments? At least that would screw over his horrible wife.

This is just sounding better!

Thank ya'll for all the kind words, I'm glad ya'll enjoyed it!

I agree with ya'll about Tonio's relationship ignorance. What annoys me the most about him is that he doesn't take the plunge to follow his happiness with Sara, no matter how many sweet moments they have. At this point I fully expect to see him walk down the aisle with Isa & possibly just possibly realize at that point they are not meant to be. I do find it sweet that he lights up at the thought of his friendship with Sara, probably has never had that before with current/past girlfriends/female friends.

Sneaky2shoes: I love that idea! I did feel that the writers were setting up the stage for whatever new character they would introduce to take that job position but like your idea better. Antonio & Nacho would make a great work pair.

jlk

Tuesday 9/1 Parte 1
Some condensing and putting things mostly in order. Still kind of skeletal.

Sebas continues to insist that Rafa is gay. Sebas has a nose for these things (even if he was wrong about that Lopez guy back at school.) He plays the effeminate guy with his coffee. I didn’t like that.

Simon launches the rocket. It flies all the way out of the school yard. Two reporter types see the rocket and start asking Simon and Edwina questions when they come to retrieve the rocket. Edwina, like the proud “just a friend” she is, explains in detail that Simon his an aeronautical engineer and has a rocket he’s going to launch. Simon tells Edwina the reporters are going to think they are nuts. Reporter with hair thinks Edwina and Simon are nuts. Was there a point to this scene?

Marina interrupts Antonio and Sebastian’s talk about the community outreach position to tell Anto about some lawyer who’s calling for information about Nachito’s severance and possible monthly pension. Anto tells her to find out why the lawyer wants that info and then to tell him that that info is confidential. Sebastian thinks that the lawyer’s call smells like trouble. Anto tells Sebas to get used to it. In San Gaspar, problems llegan en racimo (come in bunches)!

Marina is a boss, she gets all the info from the lawyer. Nachito’s wife is starting divorce procedings. Marina kindly (KINDLY) and respectfully (RESPECTFULLY) explains that she is unable to give out financial information and the lawyer proceeds to yell at her! I seem to recall a vieja in there. What.a.jerk. She was more than polite. Why would he respond like that? Marina tells Anto about the exchange. Anto and Sebas decide to go tell Nachito what’s going on.

Aw!! Poor Nachito is upset by the news! Anto has to sort of push Sebas into showing some support. Nachito falls into his arms for a hug.

Sara is worried about why Cheo wants to see her. She knows he hasn’t forgiven her yet. She’s afraid of Cheo and Anto running into each other. She decides to call Anto.

Anto is still counseling Nachito. Nachito is more upset about how the divorce will affect the kids. Antonio gets Sara’s call. Was he giddy? I swear he was giddy! He rushes over to El Molcajete. Sebastian waits in the car. Natalia calls but Sebas is distracted by what must be a new character since I recognize the actriz (Violeta Isfel) and she shows up multiple times. Sebas is smitten.

Inside the restaurant, Sara tries to warn Anto that Cheo is in town. Sara want Anto to watch out. Anto doesn’t want to deal with Cheo. He asks Sara not to meddle. If she does, she’ll just give herself away to Cheo. It would prove to Cheo that Sara likes Antonio and cares for him. It was a much better speech when he said it.

Pablo and Laura arrive home. I henchman calls and informs Pedro that that they’ve gotten half a tank (um...so am I the only one who is just now figuring out that pipa is also a tanker truck? And that’s because I only now looked it up because every other time there was no truck in site and I just ASSumed it meant pipe?) Anyhoodle, everyone is busy at the swamp...just like Pedro said.

Tuesday 9/1 Parte 2
Cheo apologizes to Sara. It’s complete crap and Viewerville knows it. He’s just waiting to hear from Roque that Anto showed up at the park.

The following were all just to set up for the rumble in the park.
*Sebas and Anto get to work in Anto’s apartment. Sebas has no battery or charger (seriously? I take a charger to WORK every day and TN characters routinely go out of town without one…) And he’s hungry. Anto suggests that his friend grab a charger and pick up food while he’s out. Sebas leaves the building to head for the mercado near the park. On his way back, he gets distracted by another sighting of our new, but nameless character being played by Violet Isfel.

*Antonio remembers he left his jump drive (memoria) at the office. He calls Rafa and asks him to bring it to him at the apartment. Rafa will be right there. Rafa drives by the park and sees Sebas.

*Nachito gets himself nice and drunk. I really shouldn’t laugh...but he’s a funny drunk. Simon and Bruno offer to take him home. On the way, Nachito escapes Bruno and Simon and runs toward the park.

*Antonio decides he will meet Cheo in the park. Antonio leaves the building to head for the park.

*Roque is in the park as a lookout. He calls Cheo to report that Anto hasn’t arrived...wait! wait! He’s there! In Sara’s apartment, Cheo makes like it’s his boss on the line and that “the papers are in the car.” Cheo makes a quick exit. He leave the building and heads for the park.

*After a while, Sara realizes it’s taking Cheo an awfully long time to get back to the apartment. She worries that he and Anto ran into each other. She runs to ask Chepe if he’s seen Cheo or Anto. Chepe tells her they both left in the direction of the park.

All the players are in place.

Cheo and Anto commence the pissing contest. Are the words that important? What matters is Cheo called Isa a cualquiera (but I’m not sure he really meant slut) and Anto throws the first punch. IDIOT! He seems to give Cheo a good fight, but there’s Roque to deal with as well. Right when I think Roque is going to get the upper hand Rafa(?) comes out of nowhere and kicks him! RUMBLE

Sara finds them all fighting. While rescuing Nachito, Simon and Bruno hear the commotion and they come running, too. Sara has had it with both Cheo and Antonio.

Rafa hurt his ribs in the fight. Antonio insists on taking him to a doctor. The ribs aren’t broken, but the doctor suggests some rest. Antonio offers to take Rafa home and tells him to take the day off tomorrow.

Sebas and Antonio help Rafa into the house. They promise to send someone to get the Conatrol truck later. Quique also arrives and Rafa says it’s his cousin. And yes, this causes them to argue after Antonio and Sebas leave. Quique is going to fight for their love!
And yes, this causes Sebas to tell Anto “see I TOLD YOU SO! Rafa is gay and that was his pareja!¨

Cheo and Roque have lines. Oh! During the fight Cheo said something about Antonio using her and Antonio didn’t say a word. Cheo is sure Sara will confront Antonio about it.

The next day Antonio takes Rafa’s place at the bombeo.

Fidel goes to visit Padre V...causing the priest to scurry and hide the Jaibolera. Atila comes by and overhears them talking. I’m not sure if anything really important is said because I’m laughing so much at Padre V’s face and him trying to get Atila to shut up. Atila is a great kid actor. I am impressed with him. Padre V ushers Atila out and Fidel manages to fumble around and accidentally find the Jaibolera.

Sebas sees the nameless new character again. Pepe and Nelson seem to know her. Sebas asks them to come up to get the keys to Rafa’s truck. Sebas says something about beer, so Pepe and Nelson assume he’s good people.

Rafa is at Conatrol telling Marina about Sebans and Antonio running into Quique. Rafa is really worried about losing his working relationship with Ing. Andrade. He’s really grown fond of him and...is falling in love with him!! (Great facial expression from Antonio!)

sneaky two shoes, I like the idea of Nacho going back to work as Community Outreach Director, but he seems so adamant about not wanting to work for anyone else anymore. At least it would be less stress than running the plant, right?

Vivi, hey, if it screws his wife over, I'm all for it! Was that mean? Oh, well. What can I say. I don't like her.

jlk, yes, Antonio is far too cautious...take a chance, man!

Sara, thank you for the Tuesday recap!

"He plays the effeminate guy with his coffee. I didn’t like that." With you on that.

"Was there a point to this scene?" If there was, I don't know what it is. I think it was just there so we could giggle over how much Edwina loves to talk about Simon's big rocket. OK, seriously, those two need to get married and I want a scene of them using the rocket as their getaway vehicle after the reception. Launch the sucker with tin cans hanging off it and "Just Married" painted on the side. I don't care if it's the fakest looking thing ever, I must see that rocket launch!

"I seem to recall a vieja in there. What.a.jerk." Oh yeah, he did. That unprofessional little turd! He didn't even try to wheedle or anything, just started right in on cussing her out. I hate people like that. They don't get what they want, so they get abusive...like suddenly Marina was going to say "Oh, well, since you called me a vieja, what's your email address and I'll send over his personnel file." Jerk.

"I really shouldn’t laugh...but he’s a funny drunk." Oh, he is. If he and Antonio ever get drunk together I'm probably going to break a rib.

"RUMBLE" These are supposed to be grown men! I just wanted someone to turn a garden hose on the lot of them. Cheo just keeps getting worse and worse every time. "I should go screw your girlfriend, and then we'll be even." That sexist piece of crap!

Quique lost me at "you're lying, right, it was really at a club!" Dude is looking for trouble where none exists. OK, Rafa has a crush. But no, he's not cheating!

"Atila is a great kid actor." Word!

"He’s really grown fond of him and...is falling in love with him!!" Annnnnd suddenly it's junior high and the inconveniently overheard conversation in the hallway.

Thanks sara for today's recap,

and thanks jlk for the yesterday recap I meant to put it at the beginning of my earlier message and uh spaced

oh Edwina - just can't stop talking about Simon's rocket - some things are better when you keep them all for yourself dear

sneaky, I am never not going to laugh at a rocket joke!

I'm going to work on keeping track of all the vocabulary we gather... Should we keep track of rocket jokes, too?

Diva- I love your idea for Simon and Edwina's wedding. Maybe through in some cheesy animation? I'm kind of imagining the end of Grease when ONJ and JT flew up in that car...

Throw. Not through. *head desk *

Yes, Sara, like the end of Grease! That would be perfect! And they can just wave at everybody down on the ground. And I'm going to ignore that eventually the rocket has to come down. I'm ok with suspending disbelief for a scene like that :D

Not that vocabulary isn't exciting, too :D

Hi Sara! Loved your recap and loved all the vocab.

" I’m not sure if anything really important is said because I’m laughing so much at Padre V’s face and him trying to get Atila to shut up." I had the same reaction. This was Padre V's best scene yet!

It's hard not to be disappointed in Sebastian ogling the "campesina" exactly as Natalia described!

I fall more and more in love with Padre V in every scene. This has been a perfect role for the actor. I've always been rather lukewarm about him, but not any more! He cracks me up!

Sara- I'm still in the middle of watching, but am reading the recap at the same time. Yes, it's very late, but your fun recap is giving me a shot of energy. I'm packing.

Violeta Isfel's arrival can only mean trouble for Sebas and Nat. I'm not happy that her jealousy with be founded.

The child who plays Atila is Violeta Isfel's real life son.

More tomorrow.

Wait. Really? Wow he's grown up since Amorcito Corazón! I didn't even recognize him!

It looks like him to me, but I might be wrong. AC was quite a few years ago now- 2011-12.

I see that it could be him. I'll try to confirm when I'm at a computer. Whoever he is, he's good!

I'm probably wrong. They look similar to me, and these producers tend to like to use the same actors, and now the appearance of Violetta made me think so. But agreed, he's good, whoever he is. I can't find his character on the cast list though.

I agree, Padre Vicente is one of my favorites. He's so human, with his weakness for futbol and his love of the Jaibolera, and ok maybe that's all officially frowned on, but in a way I think it makes him better at his job. He's not coming off like he's perfect or setting an unattainable example.

Vivi, I think I can live with Sebastian making eyes at the Mystery Woman, as long as he doesn't start trying to talk to her. It's probably inevitable, though. She wouldn't be popping up all over the place if she wasn't going to get involved in the story somehow.

I'm not looking forward to the fit Natalia is going to have if/when Sebas actually starts speaking to Mystery Woman. She annoys me enough when she gets mad at him for no reason, as she usually does. I don't want to have to agree with her.

"YES!" to your entire comment Vivi!

I just got finished watching the episode and I'm really pooped. It's only 6:30, but I'm going to bed. I will put up some highlights in the morning. I'm sorry.

No prob, Sara. You're a trouper.

Thanks Denise! I stayed up too late Tuesday night and Wednesday is my day with no planning period. I know better than to stay up late!

Working on the highlights now.

Wednesday 9/2 Parte 1
So...this is what I recall (Which is usually just the stuff I found the most entertaining or annoying. As usual I ask that you feel free to fill in. )

Today’s theme: The lies we tell ourselves and others

Rafa in love
Ok. Not really. He just really, really respects and admires Antonio. He’s a great boss. Antonio walks by as if he didn’t hear any of it and reminds Rafa that he’s supposed to be at home resting. This just makes Rafa admire Antonio more.

Later Rafa and Marina are at Nacho’s. Gilda (is that her name?) tells them about Nacho tying one on the night before. Rafa continues to wax rhapsodic about Antonio. The dreamy mood is shattered by the sound of his cell phone. It’s Quique. Rafa tells him that he’s at Conatrol with Marina. Quique demands to talk to her. Rafa refuses on the grounds that Quique is being a distrustful and jealous pain.

Quique is waiting outside Rafa’s house when Rafa returns. Quique wants to know where Marina is. Rafa makes up a tale about the taxi dropping her off first. And I swear I can’t remember what happened next. Quique handed Rafa the food he’d brought and then flounced away. I remember that.

Sebas in trouble
Apparently there is something in San Gaspar that makes the ladies extra chula (Sebas’s words...not mine.) He has run into our mystery woman yet again and is stalking her (IMO.) He uses his camera phone zoom feature to try and see her better from across the park. Nat calls in the midst of this and he lies, telling her he’s at Conatrol...on a Saturday. He throws Anto under that bus. You know him, Nat..he’s a workaholic.

Sebas calls Anto and asks him to tapar (cover) for him if Nat calls (is that the word he used?) He also asks Ant to come out and play, but Ant refuses.

Nat’s no dummy, no siree. She calls Anto, who does manage to cover for Sebas despite not knowing the actual lie. Nat called the HOME phone, but Ant tells her he had it linked to his office since he knew he would be there most of the day. Ant tells Sebas “you owe me one.”

Sebas makes his way to Nachito’s (doesn’t everyone?) and there runs into Pepe and Nelson (ok, technically I think they ran into him.) They notice him ogling the mystery woman who yet again has crossed his path. Is he following her...or is she following him? Pepe and Nelson go talk her into coming over to the table. He name is Titina. She’s from San Gaspar. Sebas wonders if she would be willing to tell him all about the place. She would...if he will tell her all about DF. Conversation continues about San Gaspar and the DF. I think Sebas said something about there not being any good dance places in the DF (I find that difficult to believe) and Titina, Pepe and Nelson talk about how much San Gasparinos love to dance. Sebas says he’s not very good at dancing. He needs to find someone to teach him. Titina offers to be his dance teacher. Sebas is doomed. When Nat finds out...Ay ay ay!

(Part two in a jif...)

Wednesday Parte 2

Padre V in the doghouse
Padre goes to pick up his laundry from Cigala. Atila is not happy with his friend Padre V. He knows the priest stole La Jaibolera and that there was no copy. Cigala comes out with the laundry and notices how down Atila is (which really is quite impressive considering his usual demeanor...ah! A mother’s love!) Atila explains that someone he really cares for has done something wrong. Cigala thinks that if that person really cares for Atila, they will do whatever possible to repair the damage. Once they are alone, Padre V tells Atila he will return La Jaibolera. He’ll sneak back into the parsonage, Rodobaldo will find it and no one will be the wiser.

Except Fidel is waiting for him when he gets to the parsonage. Fidel explains that he used his keen powers of deduction to figure out it was Padre V. He lists four things (?). All I can remember is that Fidel thought it odd that Padre V was so calm about the loss of La Jaibolera and that it was obvious Padre V was trying to keep Atila from talking during Fidel’s last visit. Fidel tells Padre V he will have to be arrested.

When the get to the station, I think Fidel tells Padre V that he left his handcuffs inside. He tells Padre V to wait for him while he gets them. Fidel then just watches and wonders how long Padre V will stand there and wait.

Padre V holds out for quite some time, but finally makes a run for it.

He returns to San Dionisio de las Penas and tells Atila he is a fugitive from the law!

Sara and Antonio...NO love in an elevator
Javi and Bruno plan a little get together to welcome Sebas to San Gaspar. Sebas seems to be making a much better first impression than Sebas. Everyone comments on how different Sebas is from Anto.

The party gets going and of course, the music is too loud. Anto goes over to complain and make a general ass of himself. Sebas hustles him out and they head back to Anto’s place.

Meanwhile, Cheo shows up with flowers (Blech.) They step outside to talk. Sara is still mad about the fight he had with Anto. Cheo swears Anto threw the first punch.

Sebas tells Anto he’s being an ass. At one point I really thought it was going to be a Bro-breakup. Sebas lists all of Anto’s faults. Sebas is his friend and has put up with it. Then Sebas goes back to the “cariño chulo” playfulness of always. I was relieved. I really didn’t want them fighting. Sebas convinces Antonio to go apologize to the party goers.

(part 3 coming up...in a jiff...with two f's.)

Wednesday Parte 3
Sara and Antonio...NO love in an elevator cont’d
When Antonio and Sebas step outside the apartment, Cheo is in the midst of explaining he didn’t throw the first punch. Cheo sees Anto and tells him “Go ahead, explain to Sara that you were defending your girlfriend!” Antonio remains annoyingly silent. Cheo goes for the gold, telling Sara and Anto that Anto was just playing with her. Crickets from Antonio. Cheo goes on ad nauseum about how HE is the one that’s been with Sara for 4 years...caring about her and loving her. Anto and Sebas just go back in the apartment….

….and have a conversation that I barely remember. Sebas asks Anto why the hell he doesn’t go for it with Sara and Anto says they are too different. He doesn’t mean the class thing, but quite frankly I think he does.

Cheo is out in the hallway sweet talking Sara. Big time blech. It ends with him kissing her. I guess she sort of responds. At least it looked that way when Antonio and Sebas came back out. GRRRR. [P.O’d recapper snarly face]

The next day everyone is getting ready to head for the soccer game. Simon asks Sara what’s up with Cheo. She tells her uncle that she and Cheo are going to give it another try. Bruno and Javi forgot their balls (*snort* couldn’t resist because...12.) Sara offers to run upstairs and get them. Simon forgot his cell phone, he heads up to get it.

Sara runs into Antonio and Sebas. She is warm and friendly to Sebas and cold as ice to Anto. This just gets his goat and he runs after her. They end up in the elevator and having a huge fight with lots of lines. The most important one being that Sara screams that she is marrying Cheo (is there a Spanish equivalent to “cutting off one’s nose to spite their face?”) Simon hears this and is surprised. Sara and Anto finally get off the elevator. They’re arguing about Sara telling Cheo about sleeping together. I recall something coming up up Anto denying it. Anto didn’t say anything because he felt like it was Sara’s business and he wasn’t going to go around telling everyone who she sleeps with (um….you mean like Cheo? Well played Anto.) If she’s so upset, he’ll go to the papers and have it advertised. Sara says “you do that and I’ll have my novio beat you up.” Sara is also 12.

Anto is angry and frustrated. Sara is the only woman who’s ever frustrated him so much. Simon asks Sara about her saying she’s marrying Cheo.

Cheo and Roque have a conversation too, but I can’t recall a bit of it. I’m sure Cheo was kvetching about Anto and Sara.

What was the end? Anyone remember? I can’t and I’m too lazy to fire up the TV and find out.

Sara- I was watching this while packing and doing laundry, so an extra big thank you because I was only half paying attention. But for that reason, I also can't help much with the ending details.

A few things I do remember:

Simon thinks both Cheo and Anto are bad choices and tells her so.
Sabas points out to Anto that HE is the one pushing Sara into Cheo's arms. Anto tries to point out some nonsense about Sara's bad choice in men, and gets attitude about her kissing Cheo. Sebas points out that Sara's relationship with Cheo is just as valid as his with Isa, as they've been together four years. And at the end somewhere mystery lady calls Sebas to set up their dance lesson date. He's going to be in so much trouble, but that's his fault.

It's a shame Anto interrupted the party for Sebas. I was looking forward to seeing him hang out with those guys. Has the stick up Anto's butt grown back to its original size the last episode?

Padre and Atila are adorable.

Thanks for adding a little more, Vivi! Your details reminded me...

During the scene with Pepe, Nelson, Sebastian and Titina at Nacho's she gets a call and says "tell mom I'll be right there." I just got a little vibe of mystery...

And yes, I love watching Padre and Atila!

Safe travels!

Thank you for the Wednesday recap, Sara! I hope you got some good sleep last night.

"Quique handed Rafa the food he’d brought and then flounced away." Ayyyyyyy, Quique! Sometimes I find him cute and sometimes I find him annoying, but when he edges into paranoia and baseless accusations...definitely the annoyance outweighs the cuteness.

"Sebas makes his way to Nachito’s (doesn’t everyone?)" I wish I could make my way to Nachitos. OK, Sebastian, you have now crossed the line from innocent appreciation into actively flirting. Now I'm going to have to side with Natalia. Thanks a lot, dude.

"Cigala comes out with the laundry and notices how down Atila is (which really is quite impressive considering his usual demeanor...ah! A mother’s love!)" *giggle* Well, he looked more pouty than menacing :p I liked those scenes with Atila and the Padre.

"Meanwhile, Cheo shows up with flowers (Blech.)" I just can't even with Cheo. I just want to pretend he never showed up. "[P.O’d recapper snarly face]" Dude, totally.

Heh, heh, heh...balls :D

Vivi, "Simon thinks both Cheo and Anto are bad choices and tells her so." I'm glad he said that, but I disagree--Cheo's soooo much worse! And I feel like we're getting into Sara dating somebody just for the sake of dating somebody, which I'm never fond of. Though I suppose Antonio's doing the same thing?

Vivi, have a fabulous trip!

Right? I totally want to go to Nachito's!

Where everybody knows your name, and the drinks are always free. I hope that's not seriously cutting into his profits! Especially with his wanna-be-ex wife trying to take him for everything he's got.

Hola patio peeps! I'm going to create a Google doc to start keeping up with the vocabulary for this one. If you want an invite so you can add yours from your recaps, email me. :-)

La Vecina #53 Th 9/3/15 Part 1 of 5

Cheo brought Sara a serenata. I don't know who's more annoyed…me or Antonio. And who did Cheo really bring this serenata for, 'cause he's crowing over how upset Antonio is. Simon reminds Sara not to get carried away. He tells Bruno about Sara's sudden decision to marry Cheo…probably just to piss off Antonio. He also thinks Cheo is only doing what he's doing out of pride. He's worried about Sara getting hurt.

Sara joins Cheo down on the lawn and she's all smiley. Gross.

Isa is tired of hotel sex with Ric. What?! Who gets tired of hotel sex? There's room service! Anyway. Ric says his cousin is moving out soon and thinks to himself that if Isa likes his new place he might actually buy it. He gives her a very flashy necklace that I'm not sure is a real diamond.

Sebastian, *cough* I mean "Chebi" is waiting for Titina at a club. She's running late. Some big beefcakey guy shows up and insists on driving her to *cough* Sylvia's house. Overbearing brother?

Doña Luisita is dying. Again. She wants to see Padre Vicente, or else she can't die in peace.

Titina tries to get beefcake to leave once she's at "Sylvia's" house, but he won't until she's inside. Unfortunately, she's left her cell phone in the car. And once he drives away, she makes a (literal) run for it.

Antonio's serenata torture is finally over. Cheo promises to do this more often, to get back what he and Sara "had." They smooch in full view of the balconies. Simon comes outside and tells Antonio to let her go if he's got nothing better to offer. Argh! It's not about that, Simon, and you know it!

Sebastian calls Titina's cell and Beefcake answers. Sebastian's smooth, though, and says he has the wrong number. And then he sticks to his story when Beefcake calls back and asks who he wanted to talk to. Thinking that he really doesn't want a Cheo of his very own, Sebastian flees the club.

Cheo wants to know if Sara was in love with Antonio when she had sex with him. He has to know or he'll go nuts. So she answers him…pretty much, yes. Now he tries to turn it into Antonio fooling her. Even though she says she's not a victim, Cheo keeps insisting on how she was easy prey for Antonio, etc. He oh-so-generously excuses her little lapse, because it was all evil Antonio's fault. Sara tells him to drop it. Neither of them is exactly happy.

La Vecina #53 Th 9/3/15 Part 2 of 5

The Jaibolera is back home and Rodobaldo has increased security. Luisita's son comes looking for Padre Vicente, but Rodobaldo has no way to reach him.

Titina gets to the club, but not only is there no "Chebi," there's no phone in her purse.

The man himself gets home and he and Antonio trade stories of their crappy nights. Even Antonio tells Sebastian to forget Titina…"Con un Cheo basta!" (One Cheo is enough!)

Fidel visits the parish house. He doesn't approve of having a "candado" (padlock) on the outside--it advertises that no one is home. Rodobaldo tells him about Doña Luisita dying and wanting Padre Vicente to hear her confession.

Chepe feels slighted because after letting Cheo, Roque, and the mariachis in and risking all the other tenants complaining about the noise, Cheo doesn't have a damn thing to say to him. Cheo gives a grudging, petulant "thanks" to Chepe and I'm thinking "Screw it! Next time don't let him in!" Why go out of your way for someone who's being ungrateful? Cheo's bad behavior continues as he whines to Roque about how Sara didn't give him the answer he wanted.

Fidel decides to run out to San Dionisio to bring Padre Vicente back to Doña Luisita's house.

Doña Luisita is prepared to call the Bishop and demand that Padre Vicente be brought back for her. She thinks she deserves that much, after all the donations she's made to the church.

Titina gets home, gets her cell phone back from Beefcake, and tries calling Sebastian. He ignores the call.

Sara wants Bruno's advice about whether a dude who wants to marry a chick can really forgive her for sleeping with another dude. Well, if it happened before the dude proposed, then sure, but the anger's never going to go away ESPECIALLY IF THE DUDE IS CHEO AND THE OTHER DUDE IS ANTONIO! Why'd she tell him if "lo que no es en tu año, no es en tu daño" (What isn't in your year isn't harmful to you; nobody needs to know what you did when you weren't dating them!) Bruno mocks Sara's "honesty" and says it was stupidity and she's gotten Antonio into an awful lot of trouble. If he wasn't on Antonio's side before, he's on his side now. He says Cheo might pretend to be ok with it, but he's going to find a way to get to Antonio. "Making you the 'autor intelectual' of his murder." (mastermind, the brains)

La Vecina #53 Th 9/3/15 Part 3 of 5

Doña Luisita calls the Bishop, but he won't budge…well, neither will she! She won't even let the Bishop hear her confession over the phone.

The Bishop doesn't want to let Doña Luisita go out like that, so first thing the next morning, he's going to go to San Gaspar personally and hope Doña Luisita will confess to him.

Cheo torments himself with Sara's confession and Roque's wondering if Sara was just with him to piss off Antonio.

Fidel doesn't want to scare Padre Vicente, but Padre V is out cold. Sure enough, Padre Vicente gets startled and puts some badass martial arts moves on Fidel before running out of the parish house.

I kid you not, Cheo breaks into Antonio's apartment! He drops a glass on the kitchen floor on purpose, but Antonio goes right back to sleep. Cheo drops another one and this time, Antonio wakes up enough to call for Sebastian. Figuring something happened to his friend, he goes wandering out into the kitchen barefoot, but doesn't get far into the field of glass before he sees Cheo. Oh, this has got to stop! I need a truck, a tanker, a rocket, WHATEVER, but Cheo has got to go!

Cheo. Macho posturing. Sebastian wakes up. Antonio swears next time Cheo breaks in, he'll get shot. Cheo machos some more about how Antonio seduced Sara and he'll pay. He stalks out. Sebastian thinks Cheo is nuts, but Antonio says Sara's nuts for telling him.

Padre Vicente keeps trying to run from Fidel. He ends up shoving Fidel into a shed to get away from him. That whole "fugitive" thing…not so funny now, huh, Fidel?

The boys clean up the glass on Antonio's floor. Sebastian wants to report Cheo to the cops, but Antonio says he might as well wait until after Antonio's killed Sara for giving Cheo details, and then he can go turn himself in. Sebastian doesn't think Sara really did give Cheo all that much in the way of details. Antonio grudgingly agrees. If she had, Cheo would be trying to castrate him!

Padre Vicente is finally caught in front of Cigala and Lazlo's place. They come out to defend him with an axe and a broom…Atila has a little frying pan. Fidel says he's not there to bring the Padre to justice, he's there to bring him to Doña Luisita!

La Vecina #53 Th 9/3/15 Part 4 of 5

Antonio has a dream about Sara being in his room and him wanting to kill her. EW! What show did we just wander into?! Sara takes the rope Antonio was wielding away from him and tells him if she's gotta die, she'd rather lose her breath from his kisses. Whew! Much better! Except…their smokin' hot smoochies are interrupted by Nightmare Cheo, who threatens them with a pair of scissors. Antonio wakes up in fright and checks his equipment…which is apparently still in place. Sure enough, he wanders out to the kitchen and finds that one piece of glass that you always miss, even when you think you've gotten it all. Sebastian feeds him a tall tale about the glass going to his heart, so he'd better pull it out.

Doña Luisita is refusing to confess to the Bishop. The Bishop keeps making excuses for while Padre Vicente can't be there, but Doña Luisita knows it's the Bishop who won't allow Padre Vicente to be there. She lays on the guilt trip like a pro! Hell she'll even change her will to leave the church out! Call for the notary! Meanwhile, out in the living room the relatives think their inheritances are assured since Grandma hasn't called for the notary…ha! Padre Vicente arrives at last! It's a miracle! Doña Luisita moved! "Because she's not dead yet!" says the Bishop. Padre Vicente hugs Doña Luisita.

Sebastian continues his tall tale, but Antonio is willing to risk the heart attack or tetanus or whatever, to keep Sebastian from picking at his foot. He's cranky after dreaming about strangling Sara all night. He knows he's got no shot with Sara and Sebastian can't convince him otherwise.

Padre Vicente absolves Doña Luisita of whatever sins were weighing so heavily on her conscience. Is pretending to be dying a sin? 'Cause he thinks Doña Luisita's looking pretty darn alive right now. She says it's the excitement of seeing him, and, uh, people say right before you go you get, like, a second wind. She wants to talk to the Bishop again..y'know, 'cause she's dying. You can't deny the last wish of a dying woman, right?

Fidel explains to the Bishop why he went out to fetch Padre Vicente. Oh, give it up Bishop and Assistant, just let him come home already. The Bishop can tell that Doña Luisita has a lot of affection for Padre Vicente. Padre V comes in to tell the Bishop that Doña L would like to see him.

Isa is home from another night of illicit nookie. Natalia is not amused. Isa shows off her big tacky (at least she and Natalia think so) necklace and laments that he's not from her "codigo postal" (postal code; i.e., she's the Uptown Girl to his Billy Joel). If not for that, he'd be perfect. She just wants to get her needs met until she marries Antonio is all. Natalia fumes that she's playing with fire. After she storms off, Isa looks at the big 'ol rock and says it's not that bad.

Diva, what a great recap.

Favorite lines:

"Doña Luisita is dying. Again. She wants to see Padre Vicente, or else she can't die in peace." I'm still laughing.

"Cheo brought Sara a serenata. I don't know who's more annoyed…me or Antonio. And who did Cheo really bring this serenata for, 'cause he's crowing over how upset Antonio is."
Exactly.

And when Cheo and ProSara were kissing, Guh-ross!

Thank you, Diva! This was a great recap of a great episode. I love when recappers note the same details I see while watching... Like Atila and his little frying pan. Makes me feel like we're all in sync on the patio.

Cheo is straight up crazy dangerous now and it bothers me that they did not call the police. And I sort of feel like in his case mariachi is NOT the answer and he is not worthy of a charro suit.

Gracias 5ft, great as always

We don't see enough of Lusita, I love Marianna Karr & that whiskey voice.

I missed the 1st half, came in on Cheo dropping glasses & thought that was Antonio's nightmare.

Thanks Sara for your back2back recaps. I'm finally able to catch up for this week.

And thank you Diva for Thurs recap.

ESPECIALLY IF THE DUDE IS CHEO AND THE OTHER DUDE IS ANTONIO! Haha loved how Bruno called out Sara's "what if someone..." example.

They come out to defend him with an axe and a broom…Atila has a little frying pan Awww cute...Padre V making friends wherever he goes.

Variopinta, came in on Cheo dropping glasses & thought that was Antonio's nightmare. lol Cheo a walking nightmare...you're on to something there

I know that Cheo's annoying traits are neverending, but I hate how he keeps bringing up to Sara how Tonio used her, took advantage of her, just wanted to have her way with her, etc. Doesn't he see Sara's hurt face everytime he brings it up?? Of course not, because it's all about Cheo's pride.

jlk

jlk - So true about Cheo's pride.

pardon me for yelling...

OMG YES! WORD!! Your WHOLE comment about Cheo jlk. He is just...just...GAH! BLECH! And dangerous!!

La Vecina, Friday, 9/4 Part 1
Cheo and Roque, post burglary meeting:
Roque warns Cheo to be careful. He could end up in jail or worse, breaking into peoples’ houses like that – he was in Anto’s “terreno”(territory). Cheo is unrepentant. He says Anto invaded his “territory” first. The ingeniero deserves that and worse. Roque questions how the relationship with Sara is going to go after all this. Cheo assures Roque that once he has Sara all locked up in matrimony, he can stop with all of the concessions. Roque says that Sara isn’t a possession. (Yay, Roque!)

Titina asks Pepe for (and gets) the tel. number to Antonio’s apt. so she can apologize to Sebas for standing him up.

Estévez, the reporter from El Amanecer, the one who blew off Edwina when she told him about Simon’s rocket, goes to Vlad’s school to enquire about the rocket that Simón launched at the school. Vlad and Magda will give him the info he is looking for.

Simón is shopping for cohete parts on the Internet. He is talking to Bruno when Sara skips through the room and out the door with a “Los quiero.” Bruno comments that Sara has doubts about her renewed relationship with Cheo. They both agree that sooner or later Cheo is going to throw her “slip” with Antonio in her face.

Anto and Sebas briefly discuss the day’s plan. Sebas will buy some groceries. He chides Anto about limping on his “owie” foot. “¡No exageres!” (Stop playing it up!) Phone rings. It’s Titina. “Forgive me for being late to our cita. Something came up.” Sebas says, “Uh huh. Fine. Gotta go.” He hangs up and continues making his grocery list.

Simón and Bruno discuss how Sara doesn’t realize that Cheo is conducting a “revenge reconciliation.” And “como nadie escarmienta en cabeza ajena” (sometimes people have to learn the hard way – loose trans.) they will have to try to protect Sara until she realizes who the real Cheo is.

Anto is driving along, remembering a charming conversation with Sara about his choice of music, when he happens upon the scene of an accident between Sara and another driver. The driver is saying that he ran into her because her brake lights don’t work. Anto turns around and stops to help. “Nobody asked for your help!” says Sara. “I’m here to help HIM!” says Anto. “She doesn’t have registration or ID.” Sara gives Anto a swift kick. They wrestle. No, seriously, they wrestle. Anto, with his hand over Sara’s mouth, pays off the other chofer, mouthing that Sara is “media loca” (off her rocker). She gives Anto a hard bite on the hand. She says, “You’re dead to me. Not talking to you any more!” He says, “Oh please tell me it’s true! – And don’t run into my car!”

El Padre V. and Lucita are discussing what a fast one she pulled, convincing everyone that she was on her way out, when what she really wanted was to play cards with el Padre. She tells her son that she’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Reportero guy is at Simón’s workshop and would like to interview him. “Why,” Simón asks, “when you didn’t believe me?” “That was my partner. I’m totally interested.” “Uh, no. Buenos días.” Simón blows him off.

Rafa laments to Marina that Quique hasn’t been seeking him out like he usually does. But whatever, if he is suspicious all of the time, that’s his problem. Anto enters in a chipper mood and accepts Marina’s offer of coffee.

Bruno and Simón discuss “lo del reportero.” Yada yada.

Antonio is holding his wounded hand and laughing to himself. “She must sharpen her teeth daily. Now I’m lame and handless! All I need now is for her or the savage to take out an eye, and I’ll be like a pirate! (He laughs again.)
Marina comes in and puts ice on Anto’s hand. “Why did Sara bite you?” she asks, unprompted. “How do you know it was Sara.” “Who else could bite you and have you smile about it?” Random guy enters office and announces that the wife of Nacho López is here to see Anto.

Sara arrives at El Molcajete furious about her tussle with Antonio. She recounts her version of the events to Rosa. El Padre V. walks through the door, surprising Sara.

La Vecina, Friday Part 2

(Intro song – lovin’ it.)

Wife of Nacho has a judicial order for Conatrol to give up all of Nacho’s pension to her. She only came to this godforsaken town because Nacho was the head of the plant. Now that he is a “vil tendero”(mere storekeeper) she’s outta here. Anto tries to communicate with Nacho, but Nacho cuts him off because he is fending off some people trying to take all his earthly possessions from him.

El Padre V. hears Sara’s slightly skewed version of the events between Anto and Cheo. Well, it was pretty much Cheo’s version.

Cheo’s boss asks him if he’s found them some insurance yet. Cheo says, “Sure, Boss, I’m on it!” Subsequently, Roque says, ”When exactly were you investigating insurance companies?” Cheo: “I’ve got a buddy who can fix us up and give us a good deal. I got this.” Roque: “Well, get on it. We can’t be left unprotected.” Gee, I wonder if this is going to turn out well.

More happy talk btw Sara and her uncle Vicente. He tells her to not rush into anything. She replies, “Jeepers, Tío Simón told me the same thing.”

Pepe intercepts Sebas at the plant and confirms Titina’s story about her hermano interrupting their plans.

Fidel reads to Quintín a report regarding the plan to frustrate the plans of the “saqueadores”(gas filchers). “Sounds good,” says Quintín.

Reportero seeks Edwina at the bank. Could she convince Simón to interview him and maybe even photograph his “cohete”? (I’m not even going there! Ha ha.)

Sebas in Antonio’s office: What happened to your hand?
“Sara bit me when I took the other guy’s side.”
Sebas: “She’s a salvaje!”(savage, wild one)
Anto: “An adorable salvaje.”
“Btw, you were right about Rafa.”

Redoblado (ha ha, I can’t remember his real name) fills el Padre V. in on how the Jaibolera was found. He gives Fidel’s version of finding it wrapped in newspaper after hearing a dog barking about it. Vicente thought bubbles, “Couldn’t Fidel do better that stealing the same story as the World Cup story?” (I’m ignorant of this reference.)

Fidel in Anto’s office. He explains about the creation of the special unit in charge of the gasoline robberies.( Loss is still around 30%.)The plant is in danger of being shut down.

Pedro another bad guy: “I told you I had everything under control.”
Other guy: “I’ve found another great place to siphon off gas. It’s right by a godforsaken town called San Dionisio de las Peñas.” (Dun dun dun duuuun.)

La Vecina, Friday Part 3

We are in Slick Ric’s new digs, I think. Isa calls. Can they get it on? No, Ric’s too busy. He has to really fix up the place to the nines first. Isa says it’s probably better. Easier to leave him if she doesn’t see him. She leaves the necklace on a table.

Nacho is feeling “deshecho”(undone, unconsolable). Can’t Antonio do anything to stop her? Unfortunately, no. Nacho swears he will rise from the ashes of what the Bruja is doing to him. Leila offers her unconditional support. He hugs her just as La Bruja walks up. She snaps a photo.

Edwina approaches Simón about reconsidering the interview with the reportero.
Simón: “He just wants to write one of those yellow journalism pieces.”
Edwina: “I think this could be a good thing.”
Simón shares how when he was at the university others made fun of him and his dream. Only one person believed in him.
“Your wife?” asks Edwina.
“Yes. Please just support me and not insist on this interview.”

La Bruja talks with her lawyer. He has received the photos. She suggests they go for infidelity too. ¡Buena idea! says the lawyer.

El Padre V. is in Anto’s office when Anto gets back from lunch. Vicente says this is the last time he’s going to ask Antonio to leave Sara in peace. He’s not asking as a priest, but rather as a man. Anto reminds Vicente of how this all started: the “sequestro” of Antonio by Sara, the side trips to every pueblo in the area, the dehydration, the fights with all the jerks who took a fancy to her – not to mention being eaten alive by mosquitos! Vicente acknowledges that this is true, but that Antonio is using his engagement to Isabel as a pretext to avoid love. He must stay away from Sara as he is hurting her. Antonio is pensive as Vicente takes his leave.

The reportero asks Edwina if she was successful in talking with Simón. She says no, and then kind of says more than Simón would want her to.

Sara’s mom calls her at El Molcajete. The bank has called to say that she, Sara, hasn’t yet made that month’s mortgage payment! (Oh dang. We’re in trouble here.) Sara says, “But it’s supposed to come out automatically. Don’t worry. I’ll look into it.” She tap, tap, taps on her computer and then looks “asustada”.

Sebas concludes an interview with a candidate for the liason position. He calls Titina. He invites her do dinner. (¡Sebas! You, you, you ...argh!)
She accepts and squeals with delight.

In El Molcajete Sara realizes that the rent payment was taken out automatically, leaving insufficient funds for the mortgage payment. Now she needs to borrow from don Pedro – or ask him to wait for his money. She calls his house, but just gets Laura. Sara talks to her mom again and tries unsuccessfully to reassure her.
Worried face on Sara.

¡Ya!

Thank you, Denise! Wow I didn't even catch that there might be potential trouble with Cheo and the insurance! Lots of things were going on. This episode was packed!

So many things are making me nervous- Sara and her finances, Nacho's shrew of a wife, the plant possibly closing and now we have the saqueadores heading for San Dionisio.

The world cup story (from Wikipediahttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFA_World_Cup_Trophy)

"On 20 March 1966, four months before the 1966 FIFA World Cup in England, the trophy was stolen during a public exhibition at Westminster Central Hall.[6] The trophy was found just seven days later wrapped in newspaper at the bottom of a suburban garden hedge in Upper Norwood, South London, by a dog named Pickles.[7]"

And let the boos and hisses commence - I really like Titina so I'm having a hard time being mad at Sebastian (*ducks and runs*)

Thanks for the info about the world cup, Sara!

Thank you, Denise! I do not like watching Cheo and Sara kiss, either!

Thank you, Sara! That little frying pan was so cute! And I so wish they HAD called Fidel on Cheo. Agree--in this case, mariachi is not the answer!

Thank you, Variopinta! I want more Marianna Karr, too. I hope she's having a good time with this role, getting to lounge around in bed most days :D But I miss her character from Amorcito Corazon who was always running around.

Thank you, jlk! Ugh, yes! Cheo's pride. A substance more toxic and harder to get rid of than the damn Cetrocal!

Denise, thank you for Friday's recap! I'm glad Roque seems to be getting a clue about his good buddy Cheo and saying some of the things we've been saying.

"They will have to try to protect Sara until she realizes who the real Cheo is." This is so frustrating because I know she already knows!

"They wrestle. No, seriously, they wrestle." And it was funny. They did such a good job of that, the both of them.

Yep, I think it's a given the insurance thing Cheo's looking into is going to end up being a total disaster. Sorry Roque.

"Could she convince Simón to interview him and maybe even photograph his “cohete”? (I’m not even going there! Ha ha.)" Good one! I swear he's going to write a story about a girl in love with a boy in love with his rocket. (Pease?!)

"(¡Sebas! You, you, you ...argh!)" Right there with you.

Thanks, Diva!

"Cheo's pride. A substance more toxic and harder to get rid of than the damn Cetrocal!"
Insightful and well said.
