Yo No Creo En Los Hombres Capítulo 13 Thurs 07-30-2015 Will someone PLEASE tell MD what's going on?

Alma visits Max and Claudio at the office. She’s surprised to see Isela there. Claudio explains that Isela told him where Leo was, so she’s proven twice that he can trust her. Alma wants to know if he will help Honoria deal with Julian’s case. Max notes that his dad can’t really help because, as a judge, he has to remain impartial.

Ursula wants to buy MD off to leave Daniel. She believes MD’s really in love with Dan, but she knows Dan is just obsessed with sleeping with her. Maleny calls Ursula to whine that Max cancelled lunch to deal with the Leo situation. They hope Leo doesn’t tell the truth about Dan.

Claudio and Alma argue about Leo. Alma’s wants to help Julian out of gratitude that Honoria is housing Leo, but Claudio’s upset because Leo’s rebelling and they can’t control him anymore. Alma doesn’t want Leo to leave Honoria’s house because then they might lose all contact with him. Isela overhears this and promises that as long as Leo’s in the neighborhood, she’ll keep them informed about him.

Daniel urges MD to drop the dress fight. Espie disagrees; she doesn’t want people to think that MD’s a thief. MD goes with Dan; she’ll never be able to convince Ivana of the truth. Dan tells her not to worry about finding a new job because he has a big surprise…

Leo used the last of his money to buy tacos for himself and Honoria. He’s going to look for work to help out with the bills. Busybody Josefa comes knocking to ask about Leo. She warns Honoria that housing him will complicate Julian’s case.

Daniel shows MD et al the space he’s rented for their tailoring shop. Surprise! A whole year paid! She asks where he got the money for this.  From the savings he had for their wedding, he lies.

Julian calls to ask his mom to get something for one of his clients, but she doesn’t know how. Leo offers to do it. Max shows up.

Ari and Doris argue. Doris isn’t in the mood to hang out; she’s stressed! She’s got bills! Maleny pulls up across the street. Ari leaves to avoid Mal seeing him with Doris, but he tells Doris he’s trying to save her job. Maleny kicks him to the curb before he can really get to her. Ari practically runs Doris off.

Max reminds Leo that his parents love him and are worried about him. He argues that MD is bad news and hangs with bad people. Look at the evidence: 1) look at the place where Leo got beat up for her 2) She’s (accused of having) sold Ivan’s exclusive dress 3) Julian’s in prison because of her 4) She’s having an affair with Daniel for his money and is lying to everyone that he’s a poor chauffer! Honoria overhears all of this. Leo tells Max this is BS and almost kicks him out. Maleny comes bustling in, but Max practically kicks her out, telling her to wait for him outside.

Esperanza’s not down with Daniel’s extravagant gift; she believes in independent women buying their own diamonds and their own rings…well, you know what I mean. MD argues that she needs to work, so Espie gives in. Daniel smirks in the background.

Ari calls Maleny from across the street since they can’t be seen together because “ooh, huge scandal.” Mal tells Ari that Clara’s boyfriend is Max’s little brother, so he’d better be extra careful what he says around here from now on. Same goes for Orlando.

Believing Max’s story, Honoria goes to Josefa to tell her everything she heard and complain that MD is a user and her poor Julian is in jail because of her. Josefa suggests that MD and Dan got Julian arrested on purpose. Didn’t they fire super lawyer Max for the piece of crap lawyer that hasn’t done anything for Julian? Honoria then sees MD and family coming home with an affectionate Dan.

Max continues his prosecution of MD with Leo, telling him that both Dan and MD admitted to everything he just said (which goes back to MD’s poorly informed line “Everything Dan told you about me is true”). Max even made sure MD saw Dan in his finery at the fashion awards show and nothing happened because she’s in on this whole scheme. Leo wants to know if Clara knows all of this. No, Max says. Dan and MD are lying to everyone about Dan’s identity and their relationship. Well Leo’s going to look for proof. Good, Max says. Because just like Leo’s hurt about Max’s treatment of Clara’s family, Max is hurt that Leo would think Max is lying to him. They head outside just in time to glare at a kissing Dan and MD going into her house. Maleny looks on nervously from the ground level.

Maleny babbles about showing up to support Max, who explains to Maleny that he needed to talk to Leo in private about MD and Dan. Maleny bad mouths MD again and tells Max she doesn’t want him hanging around this neighborhood because MD might seduce him next! Max is offended by her lack of trust, so she withdraws the statement. She’s just worried about her brother; he’s bad, but this MD girl has made him so much worse! She and Max briefly kiss and then both drive off.

MD and Daniel smooch. She admits that she feels bad because she got on his case about not meeting her parents and the whole time he was saving for their wedding! Since meeting her mom, all he’s done is protect and care for her family.

Leo finishes the task for Julian’s client. Honoria thanks him and begs him to stay around and help convince Max to takes Julian’s case. He’s only in prison for trying to help that no good MD who has turned out to be a selfish gold-digger!

In prison, all of the cells are open, but it’s crowded and people sleep everywhere—beds, the floor, a hammock. Julian’s supposed to be in a bed, but someone else is already there. He steps into the cell and someone grabs his foot. “What are you doing?” He cries. Apparently this noise pisses people off because three guys start beating the crap out of him.

Jacinto attacks the girl from the shop that has The Lost Dress. Apparently, MD didn’t question her disgustingly enough because when he pushes her up against a door with his hand, half strangling her, she gives up the information immediately: Some rich guy in a nice car with nice clothes just gave it to her! She doesn’t know anything else! Jacinto pushes a repulsive kiss on her and laughs as she hurries away.

Some other prisoners recognize Julian; they’re from the same neighborhood. They jump in to defend him just as the guards arrive to break up the fight.

Ivana tells Dan that she rehired Gerry and talked to the PR department. The new strategy is to try to direct the press attention towards the new line…and their wedding! Dan chides her for using her personal life to boost her professional one, the way her mom did and insists the press will focus on the dress scandal, but Ivana shrugs him off.

Isela and Orlando are having a serious make out session. Orly wants to take her to lunch tomorrow, but Isela turns him down, claiming Judge Bustamante is pissed that Leo’s staying in the neighborhood and she doesn’t want to tick him off more.

The other prisoners from The Barrio vow to protect Julian because he’s one of them. (Thank goodness b/c he was getting his butt kicked)

Isela snaps at Josefa that she’s messing up her plans! She told the Bustamantes that she’d watch Leo for them and Josefa went and tried to get Honoria to kick him out!

Leo goes to talk to Clara. Meanwhile, Isela catches up with MD. MD and Espie tell her abt Dan renting the space and “correct” her when she says he’s rich. Isela thinks they should have a big party for the opening of the shop, but Espie says there’s no money for that. Isela tells them the Judge Bustamente’s ok, but he and his wife don’t want Leo dating Clara.

After Clara tells Leo about Dan renting the space, he says he thought her family didn’t take presents. He’s starting to think everything Max says about MD is true! MD comes out to upbraid Leo for secretly staying at Honoria’s; he’s going to get them in further trouble with his parents. Espie urges him to go home, but Leo argues that he and Clara shouldn’t be punished when all of this is MD’s fault! No, Clara, shoots back. Max is talking trash about MD and turning his parents against her and Leo’s relationship. No, Leo insists, Max just wants people to see the true MD, the one that’s dating Dan for his money! Clara is shocked and offended and refuses to talk to him until he apologizes to her sister. He’s pissed too and tells Clara to ask MD who Dan really is.

Ursula and Maleny bitch at Daniel for not answering his phone because they were trying to warn him about the situation with Leo. Ursula tells Dan—who is rebelliously and ridiculously sprawled on the dining room table-- that she and Maleny won’t be carrying his burdens on their backs. If he wants to sleep with MD, then he should just do it already! They need to focus on getting Ivana’s money. Mal just wants to make sure this doesn’t mess her up with Max. She bails to go sleep at Max’s because if MD’s as good at stealing boyfriends as she is at stealing dresses, Maleny doesn’t want to let Max out of her sight! (which is a weird thing to say since they all know Dan is the one that gave the dress away. Are these people so drunk/delusional that they’re starting to believe their own lies?)

Honoria chides Leo for not telling Clara he was staying with her. She gives him some of Julian’s clothes to wear so he won’t be stuck in one thing for three days running. MD knocks on the door. She wants Max’s address so he can tell her to her face what he thinks of her!

MD asked Isela to go with her to confront Max. Since she obviously can’t fight with Max, she calls Alma instead.

MD goes to confront Max. As she’s catching a cab, Fat Toño (the nighclub guy) drives past and signals that he’s watching her.

Maleny stops MD just before she knocks on Max’s door. MD tells her she wants Max to explain what he means by telling people she’s dating Dan for his money. Maleny says it’s because Max “knows what people of her class are like.” Mal warns MD to stop using excuses to sniff around her fiancé. In response, MD…just leaves?! That’s it?! She’s not even going to respond to that classist remark?! Ugh!

Sorry, guys. I got a little off track there. Maleny calls Dan to warn him that Leo told MD about him.

The next day, Dan goes to see MD, but she’s visiting Julian in prison. Esperanza is going to clean and set up the shop. Dan offers to help (Um…does he know how to clean anything? Does he even know what “help” means?)

At the prison, MD runs into Honoria, who tells her to stay away from Julian because this is all her fault! If she really cared about Julian, she’d admit that she knows Julian’s in love with her and she used his feelings to get the money for her problems, while running around with her rich boyfriend.

In prison, Julian’s new friends pay another prisoner with cigarettes to give Julian some shower time. They also find him a clean shirt and towel. (This is so messed up. There’s a prison guard standing right there. This is a serious PSA about corruption in the Mexican “justice” system).

Honoria says that Julian ignored his values and good upbringing to get the money for MD and she repays him by dating this rich dude who’s going to get her whatever she wants anyway. And to top it off, she and her rich boyfriend got Julian a crappy lawyer! MD swears that she didn’t know Julian loved her, but she’s going to get him out of prison- No! Honoria cuts her off and insists that she STAY. AWAY. FROM. JULIAN. Honoria says she’ll get him out herself. Just then Max walks up to say she won’t have to do it by herself. He’s going to help.

Jacinto watches Dan and Esperanza move the shop supplies into the car. He’s standing in front of Ari’s door, and draws Ari’s attention because he’s a super sleazy weirdo staring at people. He snaps a couple of pictures of Dan and Espie with his cell. Ari asks him what he’s doing. He barks back rudely that it’s none of Ari’s business then scurries away.

Max tells Honoria that they should argue with the truth: that Julian got the money from Fat Toño because that’s a lesser charge than murder. Honoria tells him that Fermín is out of the coma and can testify. The guard calls everyone to get in line for the visits. Honoria tells MD to leave, but MD refuses and gets into line further down from Honoria.

At school, Clara snubs Leo. If he doesn’t trust her sister, he won’t believe her either, she declares. He tells her that Dan isn’t a chauffeur and MD knows. They’re both lying to trick everyone.

Thanks Hellashelle, great job. I'm so tired of Dan winning, but last night, the previews looked promising. I hope I'm not being mislead into thinking it will turn around for the good guys.

Wow, Hellashelle thank you so much. I like this show but as someone mentioned yesterday there are a lot of characters, with different agendas all connected and I get confused trying to sort through all of it.

"she believes in independent women buying their own diamonds and their own rings…well, you know what I mean"

I thought MD wanted to get to the bottom of the disappearing dress but guess I was wrong. She doesn't want to know the truth shes so far up Daniels butt.

I'm glad Honoria has cut MD out, though all she believes is not true, some of it is and has harmed her child. Thankfully Max will help instead of Dan's guy.

The irony, Jacinto will find out what happened to the dress cause MD won't go there.

I kinda want to be upset at Isela but so far what she has done does help her friends.

Thank you Hellashelle for this recap on this confusing and frustrating episode. I actually liked MD for leaving silent just like that, the best away to stop a troll is to stop feeding him. I also liked her getting pass Hon who is just around as gullible as everyone ( Why the hell would a golddigger dig a poor guy anyway?) . I was so dissapointed with Max and Leo spewing confusion around when they are not even sure that the information is 100% accurate but I was glad that Max is back helping Julian. If MD denies the help than I might make a flip, if she gets in bars one day then I hope that she gets represented by useless lawyers all the time. And I have to agree that the prison conditions are atrocious. Like WTH they get to sleep on the floor? And they have to give some creep cigs for showertime give me a break.

Dan sure got a lot from these lies but I hope that something will change now that Leo spilled the beans. Most likely MD will not care much and will continue sucking his balls. Except that now she will want to meet his true family which will make things even more twisted.

Isela is such a clever woman with her antics. It sure is fun watching Fabiola potraying her. I don't know if I should like her or hate her. Most of the hate goes to Josefa though. She is the true manipulator here.

Dan is winning with MD, Ivana and Esperanza everyone else now has his number. The clown believes he is invisible or is correct in his belief his gf and fiancee will defend him tooth and nail. Kinda turns my stomach but both Ivana and Maria Delores are in love with him. I only wonder if one or both know about the other will they fight over him, he is quite a catch.

Wow! Hellashelle- I didn't watch the episode, but you have done a mighty fine job sorting out this confusing plot line. My goodness, this is getting tangled! I'm still counting on Clara and Leo to help untangle this whole mess. Writers, don't fail me. I liked this couple.

OK. It sounds like enough people repeated to MD this episode that her boyfriend is rich, that maybe she should try to investigate. Ojala!

Hellashelle, thanks in advance. I will read this later after I've watched the episode.

What I am not getting is how Daniel for all his manipulation doesn't see the possibility that Ivana's company could suffer from the scandal in the previous episode. That could interfere with his family's meal ticket.

As to his manipulation and isolation of Maria Dolores, I am reminded of a novel I have yet to read, Samuel Richardson's Clarissa. Daniel is trying to outdo Lovelace in that one, but we know per TN law that he will ultimately fail.

More later after I've caught up with this episode.

I was thinking the same UA. Counter intuitive for him to do something that harms Ivana's brand however I think much of what Daniel does is impulsive and he just sits back to see what happens and deals with it on the fly. He doesn't seem very stressed about anything, mostly amused.

And meanwhile Jacinto is looking out for valuable intel in order to seek his revenge. I wouldnt be surprised if he was at the party last night and recognized Daniel. That would be quite a huge deal since he seemed to be shocked by what he saw. And what does everyone else do? Argue and complain all day about dresses, love drama, slut shaming and dirty money. Isn't that just cute?

Hi all! Thanks, Countx, cathyx, Urban Anthropologist, Vivi and Tofie!

Yes, this TN is way denser than Sombra; I should apologize in advance for late breaking recaps because I'm having trouble staying awake just to watch the show! I'm hoping I"ll be less tired when I stop recapping Sombra.

Anyway: I hadn't wondered why Dan was doing something that would affect Ivana's buisness, but ever since the trip to the Cuernavaca house, I've been wondering about his bluff. His mom thought she had him by inviting Ivana, but he basically said go ahead and tell her what's going on, I don't care. I'm wondering to what extent that's true. Does he think that argument will always be true? I've been wondering ever since if Ursula would work very hard to support and care for Ivana after she and Dan marry so that if he caught Dan in an affiar or somthing, she (and Maleny?) wouldn't be affected because Ivana would be fond of them, independent of their relationship to Dan.

I think Dan is banking on his family being quiet about his thing with MD and no one will tell Ivana, because they all want him to marry to help with the finances. And I think that once he is married, he probably won't care if Ivana knows, he will think that many men have mistresses and Ivana will be happy that she has a husband at all.

So far, Ursula has always come through for those kids and don't think they understand the concept of the well running dry. Though bankrupt Daniel is still spending and money continues to be at his disposal so I believe him when he says he doesn't care. He doesn't, all this is a game for him. If you take his desire to bed MD and how ludicrous for him to want his mother to help for no reason other than it is his whim. A whim he is prepared to blow up her plans and she knows it so will go along. I get him now, at first I didn't but I recalled a trust fund baby that was on my cheerleading squad at university and she lived by a different set of rules and mind set. She wasn't as frivolous as Daniel but she had no idea how the rest of the world lived, I mean none. I was always surprised she would even show up for practice or agreed to do anything but she was a surprisingly good athlete.

Dan does not care for anything nor for anyone. He would manipulate everyone just to obtain his desires . Athough Dan's antics are still just an annoyance compared to Josefa. She really is out there to destroy families for her own personal satisfaction. Dan is just a prepontentous manipulative brat but I am sure that I wouodnt be suprised if he becomes a cold killer. Remember that he almost got away with rape.

Yes, Dan definitely doesn't care. He definitely needs a reality check. When those credit cards dry up and the cars can't be fixed, he's going to lose his mind.

Not that he isn't already totally unstable -- when he crashed his car into that pole, I was like "wow. This dude out completely ooc."

I'm also curious about his methods. Why did he decide to play a poor chauffeur with MD. Is that just so his family and rich acquaintances wouldn't know he's "slumming"? Did he realize she'd be intimidated by his wealth? If so, how long did it take him to figure that out? Was he watching her for a while or he just randomy saw her and decided to go for it? Is there some part of him that is really attracted to her purity (because he feels it will rub of on him)? Or is he just attracted to the fact that he can destroy her life? Do you think he'll really fall for her before this is over (as in want a relationship with her) or will it always just be about the conquest?

Also, that wasn't the first time he took a girl to the Cuernavaca house. Were they all poor girls or have any of his rich friends been so abused? What I wouldn't give for one or more of the others to come out of the woodwork around Ultimas Semanas. Or tonight to be honest.

Thanks Hella! You've clarified the mud my mind is swirling in.

We don't really know if Dan's earlier conquests were all poor girls or not. They seem to be the most gullible to charm, or so it goes in telenovelas. Barrio men are probably more like the ones in the prison than Orlando and Julian.

Shoot! I'd hoped Jacinto was just in a minor role so Adalberto Parra could keep his Screen Actor's Guild card current. Looks like he's going to be making trouble for MD for the next few months.

Vivi--MD will do just what she did with the dress and her confrontation with Maleny at Max's, back off at the first answer and turn tail. She will accept any explanation Daniel gives her. The most probable is that he says, yes, he's rich, comes from a rich family, but was afraid she wouldn't accept him and wanted to avoid people thinking she was just a golddigger. Sounds plausible anyway.

cathyX--I was thinking the same thing about Dan's rationalizations to Ivana finding out about any affairs AFTER the wedding.

More likely that she would lust more for his family's money than he does for her body and for the pleasure of degrading her.

I think Danny doesn't want MD (doubt he thought it would be this difficult but up for the challenge) or any of the girls he frolics with to know who he really is and part of his game. Who knows he may have told the last girl he was an astronaut or a boat captain, bed them and then he's gone, Poof and they do not know how to reach him or where he went. When MD was trying to contact him all she had was his cell number.

Thanks, Hellashelle. Your recap helps me keep all the lies straight.

Honoria was wrong to accuse MD. I don't mind cause MD's cluelessness is bugging me, but I am glad she's got the gumption to stay in line to visit Julian.

A reminder to everyone--Flavio Medina (Daniel), Rosa Maria Bianchi (Ursula) and Adriana Louvier (Maria Dolores) all walked off with the top 2015 Premios, while we here in the U.S. hadn't seen it yet. Now that it has begun.....

MD--you'd better step up to the plate and show us what got you the prize.

Just saw this and I will have my work cut out for me for #15.

Since Honoria has drunk the Kool Aid and now thinks MD is a skank how long before the rest of the nabe thinks the same way? We know her business will fail because we also know that Ewcinto will add his own poison to the stew.

Also, since Max knows the Santibanez family, how does he not know that Daniel is a player and that he does it by conning people? Someone on the writing team seems to have dropped that ball.

This was a very confusing episode with cross agendas everywhere one looked. The names are very confusing also and using nicknames just makes it worse.

Hellashelle I think you did an absolutely superb job because some of the shorter scenes, I don't even remember seeing and therefore I am glad you included them.

Let's hope Leonardo can talk some sense into Max and Clara into Maria Dolores and viceversa.

I'm hooked on this novela already. I just wish I didn't have to watch it on Hulu.

Hopefully, we dint have to wait too long for Maria Dolores to find out the truth about Daniel, but (just a guess) something treks me he'll pull out of that one also with flying colors. That's what makes a really great con man like Daniel, and MD stupid enough to believe anything and everything Daniel says.

Yes Countx, but who is Jacinto's ultimate target: Ivana for firing him, MD for making a fool out of him, Max for being able to trick him into signing his own ouster, or all of them?

If Daniel is going to be playing this particular con game for the entire series, I don't think I can stand it. I need MD to get a few wins now.

If the family is so broke, bancarrota, where is hell is all this money coming from for Daniel, Malney, and their mom.

Victoria--Yes, that ring must have set her back a pretty penny. And I don't remember Maly actually getting her car back, but she was talking about Mamma just replacing it for her--she didn't want to report it stolen and have to deal with the police.

My thinking is that Aranga, the family financial advisor has been greasing some palms for extending credit. Or Ursula is discretely selling some assets. We haven't heard her talk about where the money is coming from, only that they will once again be on easy street without her losing a single hair out of place as soon as Danny marries Ivana.

Here's hoping Gerry will talk some sense into Ivana's dopey-dreamy head and insist on a prenup and a separation of bienes.

Big points to Leo for saying out loud, with his words, what Daniel really is. Now if only MD could respond in kind to the allegations...

Kelly

Victoria- I think rich people "broke" is different than poor people broke.

I am wondering whether Arango is holding money back in a trust the others don't know about. Could Ursula's husband have had a clue about her being feckless?

I tell you, she has the worst taste in jewelry since Graceless of LQLVMR.

Did you all catch that one comment that Arango said to Ursela. They were talking about Daniel and Ursela said something about a love he can't have, (or to that effect), and Arango said he knew what he means. So I think Arango has a secret desire for Ursela.

Hellashelle, lovin the recap girl. You know, this tn is reminding me of lo imperdonable.
The lies keep flying about the leading ladies, and the hero believes them. I hope he's not going to be an ass like MARTEEN!!!
Anyways from what I've read in the recap, dannyboy has everyone tied up and tangled up in his lies. He's even got the good people believeing his lies along with the bad people. He has dooped everyone. And its all because they haven't talked to each other yet to compare the lies. He's a sneaky little troll. I feel sorry for MD, she is really being doodooed on by this little weasel. And his mother (I use that term loosely) wonders how she ended up with these 2 ungreatful brats, she should look in the mirror. Their
Father might not have been that bright either,
Their money disappeared on his watch. It'll be interesting to see how this turns out for all these poor missguided gullable people.

He can do better. Trust me.

Rudolfo's murder is still unsolved. Daniel the Troll has been chasing Maria Dolores since before we arrived in this berg. Makes me wonder whether Daniel is somehow behind that murder.

Vivi, you're right, rich people broke is different from poor people broke. I've had experience with the broke side. Broke people can actually carry themselves in a way that you wouldn't know they were broke unless they tell ya. Rich people, they're racked with fear that somebodys gonna find out they're broke, so they go off and spend money they don't have and then lie about not careing about the price. Then we all find out about it
When the trucks comes with the IRS to take their stuff that they couldn't afford. Now thats my spin on it. Everynody else, please give us your spins on it. Hahaha!! This is fun:-D

Anita
Unfortunately, Ivana is so naive and so in love with the con man, she'll tell Gerry that a pre-nup isn't necessary because Dannyboy would never hurt a hair on her body. Her business will be drained and out of business in no time.

Viví
I for one, would just like to live the other "rich" side just for a few months in order to make a comparison! !

Let's see... no pre-nup, Ivana marries Daniel. Maria D sees himfor whom he really is. He takes Ivana for most of her dinero. She and Maria D meet again and start a new company while Max gets the goods on Danny the Troll.

I could dig that.

Thank you very much for the recap Hellashelle. It was great.

Jarocha

Jardinera, if you're around, please check your email for my recap of Friday's ep. I sent it a 6am EST.

JdesdeNYC--
I was worried about a mix-up and e-mailed Jardinera around noon. She hasn't replied. I hope she is well--maybe just out for the day.

UA, Vivi or I can post the recap for you if we haven't heard from her in another couple of hours, ok?

Anita

J desde NYC - Feel free to email the Yo No Creo email chain (are you on it?) if you need to get your recap posted.

Am I to understand that episodes can be viewed on Hulu+? I want to add my thanks to the bloggers for their keen writting skills. Thanks for making sense of events that would otherwise go over my head.
