Lo Imperdonable #30 Fri 6/26/15 Love By The Waterfall

Veronica and Martin are kissing passionately unaware that they have a group of children as their audience. The children applaud at them. Veronica wants to go inside so Martin can rest and get his stitches changed. Martin jokes around that he wants to thank their audience. This is the Martin that Veronica loves - the one who laughs, loves, and makes jokes. The kids ask the lovebirds for a birdie kiss and the two lovebirds comply to the children's wishes and give each other a peck on the lips.

Botel consoles Magdalena at the cemetery and asks her the stupidest question of the century. Is she feeling a little better? Magdalena stands up and yells at him that she can't feel better. In fact, she'll NEVER be able to be happy. She kneels down on the supposed grave of her deceased daughter and grief stricken she says that her daughter is dead.

At the hovel, Veronica sends Martin off to bed while she gets the supplies needed to change his stitches. Before doing as told, Martin has a chat with Nanciyaga. “Patron esta  contento, pareciera que por herida se fue mala sangre” (Boss is happy, it seems as if the bad blood came out from the wound). Looking behind him, Martin asks Nanciyaga if that is what she thinks. “Eso sabe Nanciyaga, igual y no era tormenta lo que veia si no vientos que cambiaron para otro rumbo” (That’s what Nanciyaga knows, perhaps it wasn’t a storm what she saw and instead it was winds that changed direction). Martin asks her if she really does see beyond … (he mumbled something I could not get). Nanciyaga tells Martin that she talks to spirits when it’s noche nueva (nighttime) and there is no moon. They come and tell her things that she can’t say unless it’s necessary. He asks her if the dove is a message from his brother. She tells him that doves bring peace and are of light. He doesn’t know why he’s even asking her this since he doesn’t believe in these things. She tells him that he doesn’t have to believe since the signals present themselves anyway. He asks her if this is a good sign and she replies that it is but to not be so trustworthy. She leaves as Veronica comes back with the supplies in hand. He stares at Veronica and thanks her for giving him the opportunity to save their marriage. She kisses him. The two head for the bedroom.

We get a shot of a dove on a tree.

Magdalena cries as she presses herself against the grave. Botel consoles her and attempts to convince her to leave. Magdalena would love to open the grave and hug her daughter. Botel tells her that she knows she can't do that - her daughter is now with God. PI shows up and he's speechless. Botel reprimands the PI telling him that he should have let them know about the death of Magdalena's daughter. His wife shouldn't have found out about the death of her daughter the way she did. Magdalena tells Botel that the PI is not to blame. After all, she's the one who wanted to visit the cemetery without caring about anything. The PI explains he was so focused on locating Aaron and never imagined that Madalena's daughter could be dead. Botel asks the PI if he was able to get any information at the cemetery office. The PI lets them know they're trying to locate the person who worked at the cemetery during that time. Now Magdalena wants to know how her daughter died. But Botel doesn't think it's a good idea since it could cause more harm to Magdalena. But Magdalena insists in finding out what happened to her daughter. Her only reason for living was to find her daughter and now that she's found her she wants to know what happened to her. Botel asks her what she'll cling to after she finds out what happened to her daughter. She doesn't know what she'll do next. She presses against the grave and cries.

Martin is in bed and Veronica has finished changing the stitches. Martin thinks she's the best nurse ever and this turns into a conversation of career choices. As a child, Veronica wanted to be a nurse. Then a teacher and then a chef. Martin, on the other hand, always knew he wanted to construct things. When he was young, he would construct things with whatever he was able to get his hands on. He'd use to play with those building blocks as a child and build things. Veronica also used to play with those blocks. She would build the house she wanted to have and formed a family with the toy people. And she thought of them as her own family. A family where there was only love and harmony. And that's how she always wants to live - together and in love. The two lovebirds kiss.

Magdalena is still at the cemetery and she cries some more at the grave and stares at the grave marker.

Martin is in bed is busy constructing a paper heart for Veronica. He gives it to her. Veronica loves it and tells him she'll keep it forever. He points to his own heart and tells her that what really matters is his own heart. He tells her that his heart belongs to her. They once again kiss and then cuddle together in bed.

Virginia joins Salma and Jorge at the dinner table. She's feeling better and lets her aunt and uncle know that Emi is coming home in two days. Virginia wants to get back to work. Jorge is glad she's feeling better but he wants something to be clear in her head. If she's working, he wants it to be for herself and not so she can be close to Emi. Salma reprimands Jorge for his remark. Jorge knows that Virginia has a romantic interest in Emi. Virginia acts offended and tells her uncle that she knows that he'd preferred Veronica be in her place. She tells her uncle that she'll show him that she's working for herself and so he can be proud of her. She leaves the table all offended telling her aunt and uncle that she lost her little old appetite.

Veronica is off to cook her hubby some din din and Martin makes a request of what he'd love to eat. But Veronica won't be able to grant him his request. At least not now. For now, he'll have to eat some chicken soup. She kisses him and he promises that when he gets better he'll show her the sights around town. The two will go to see the sights alone. He sweetly tells her that he's hungry and sends her off to go and make dinner.

Magdalena is now fast asleep in her hotel room. Dr. Del Rio has give Magdalena a tranquilizer. Botel fears that Magdalena will enter a deep depression and he doesn't even want to return to Mina Escondida. He would not know what to do without Dr.'s help. Dr. tells Botel that they have to wait until Magdalena's mind assimilates that she can stop figthing and that the search of her daughter has ended. The 5 Stages of Grief will come and Magdalena will reach acceptance. Botel asks Dr. if it's a good idea to find out how Magdalena's daughter died and Dr. does think it's a good idea. Dr. believes it will be painful but necessary. That way Magdalena will be able to have closure. Botel feels guilty - if only he had done more to save Magdalena's daughter. Dr. tells him not to blame himself. Botel did the best he could and saved Magdalena's life. Dr tells Botel that Magdalena does have reasons to live and needs for Botel to be strong so he can convince her of those reasons. Dr. tells Botel to call him if he needs anything and leaves. Botel sits on the bed and he tells a sleeping Magdalena that it hurts him to see her suffering.

Back at the dinner table, Salma gets up to console poor little Virginia but Jorge stops her and tells her to quit spoiling Virginia and let her mature.

Virginia has eavesdropped on this little conversation and she calls her uncle a damn old goat and swears that one day she'll send him to hell without a penny in his pocket.

Raymunda asks Crescencio where Manuel is. Crescencio replies that he left Manuel at the mine to keep watch. Raymunda feels bad because poor Manuelito won't get to eat his din din. Crescencio isn't as sympathetic with Manuel and tells Raymunda to quit worrying so much. Manuel has beans and meat to cook like the other miners do. Blanquita doubts that Manuel will cook himself some dinner since Manuel believes that's a woman's job. Crescencio has realized that Joaquin is right and he must stop spoiling Manuel or else he'll never learn to be a good man. I say: A little late for that, Crescencio. Anyway, Crescencio asks Ana Perla where she was when Jovita died. Ana Perla gets nervous. Doesn't really know what to say but thank goodness for her she has good old Blanquita who comes to her rescue and tells her grandfather that Ana Perla was out collecting fruit. Yes, that's right. She was out collecting fruit for the natural science class. Raymunda mentions how Padre Juan's idea isn't so bad. The idea is for Veronica to be the substitute teacher until they can find a licensed teacher. As expected, Crescencio doesn't like this idea at all. He doesn't think Veronica is a good example for the children to follow.

Veronica brings her hubby his chicken soup and Padre Juan stops by for a visit. He's glad to see that Martin is doing better and could even say that Martin is happy. Veronica tells Padre Juan that love makes miracles happen and jokes that she was able to turn her little bipolar hubby into an adorable person. Padre Juan gives Martin and Veronica the sad news of Maestra Jovita's passing. He then tells the two lovebirds that what worries everyone now is that the school has been left without a teacher. Ana Perla used to help out with the classes but she doesn't have the knowledge to take over. Padre Juan wants to know if Veronica could take over the classes once Martin gets better. Because you know Veronica is the protagonista so for sure she can take on any job. Veronica has never taught a class before but she's sure if she studies the textbooks she'll be able to do it. But will Martin be okay with it? Of course he will if that's what she wants to do. Padre Juan is all smiles seeing that the two lovebirds are now behaving like a married couple and agreeing on things. Martin is, however, rightfully worried about the old goat Crescencio. He knows Crescencio is hard to please and he'd never allow him to direspect his wife. Padre Juan knows what a bastard err he knows what Martin means about Crescencio and will have a talk with the old goat. Veronica thanks Padre Juan for trusting her with the job and he thanks her for accepting and thanks Martin for taking such good care of his wife.

Joaquin intercedes on the outsiders behalf and says Veronica and Martin have shown what good people they really are. Blanquita adds that Crescencio saw Veronica helping out at church. But the old goat is NOT convinced. Besides, Veronica still has to accept to be the substitute teacher, and her hubby has to give his permission. Blanquita begins to say: "it's not as if Martin is her boss..." but she gets a look from her parents that makes her stutter a little like good old Teo and says that what she means is that hopefully Veronica's hubby does give her his permission. Meanwhile, Ana Perla is in her own little world and staring off into space, and the old goat notices and asks her about it. Ana Perla tells her grandfather that she's upset over Jovita's passing and she goes off to bed. Blanquita leaves with her and Crescencio asks God to give him patience so he can understand his grannddaughters.

Nanciyaga is busily stringing beads. Claudia is there with her and tells her that the necklaces she makes are pretty. How much are they? They aren't for sale. Nanciyaga makes them for the people she loves. And with that methinks Claudia has been dissed big time. Anyway, Claudia asks her about a necklace Nanciyaga is wearing. Is that gold? Nanciyaga replies that it was given to her by the old "patron". Claudia asks if that old "patron" was Demetrio. Nanciyaga puts her finger to her lips and signals Claudia to keep her mouth shut.

Pablo is drowning his sorrows in alcohol at the local cantina. Dr. F is having a drink at the table behind Pablo. Pablo chats with Ireri and tells her that he needed to think and thought that local cantina is the best place for that. Because booze is a good stimulant for the brian I guess. Anyway, Ireri prefers to visit the church to let her sins out but Pablo doesn't agree with church being the best place. Ireri asks Pablo what's wrong. Does it have to do with a girl? Pablo replies that it does. Well, actually it has to do with two girls and a big feeling of guilt in the middle of it.

Blanquita tries to cheer up Ana Perla who is once again in tears. Blanquita thinks it's better for things to have ended before something that can't be fixed occurred. What does she mean? Well, she means that Ana Perla could have given in to a night of passion without the blessing from San Lorenzo. All Ana Perla cares about is Pablo fixing his situation with his girlfriend in the city. Blanquita asks her cousin if she's afraid that Pablo won't return. Ana Perla replies that it's like Pierre says: if you love something then set it free. And if Pablo returns... Blanquita jokes that Ana Perla could be the one to leave so Pablo can know what it feels like. Blanquita thinks it's best for Pablo to decide who he wants to be with.

Pablo admits to Ireri that he has been a dummy with both his girlfriends. He doesn't even have the character to stop doing what they ask. Ireri tells Pablo that he'll have to make a choice but Pablo has already made that choice. The problem is that he doesn't know how to do it so no one gets hurt. Dr. F having heard Pablo approaches the table and adds his two cents: women become a dam problem when they drive us crazy. Pierre shows up and he seems a tad drunk to me and adds his two cents as well but I honestly have no idea what the heck he's babbling about.

Claudia has come to see Martin and jokes how Martin should set up his own office since they have to wait in line to come in and see him. There is a mention of something happening to Claudia's blouse that leaves me baffled. Anyway, Martin wants Claudia to return to the city to get the filter. Oh and he wants her to go and get the materials to build the new school and church. Claudia is on it and will leave for the city the following day. She then changes the subject and wants to chat about what they talked about in the cantina - about his revenge. Martin doesn't want to talk about that and makes it clear to Claudia that his revenge is far away from him now. Veronica is now listening at the door and hears when Martin thanks Claudia for taking care of him and protecting him. She also overhears when Martin tells Claudia that he'll do whatever he can do so his marriage works. Veronica smiles and loves hearing all this.

Nanciyaga is now at the cemetery paying a visit to Demetrio's grave. She brings him flowers and she whines that she's not happy because she wants her patron Martin for herself. But she loooooves him sooooo much and wants him to be happy even if it is with the mujer blanca. She grabs a wad of dirt and says that if the mujer blanca makes Martin suffer then she won't be as forgiving as Martin was.

Padre Juan stops by to fetch his bible that he left at the hovel. Martin mentions to Padre Juan how Veronica went with Lorenzo to take coffee and flowers to the church. Padre Juan points out that like he told him - Veronica is a good person. Martin is stating to believe that Veronica is a good person. I say: What?? What do you mean "starting"??? Anyway, Padre Juan is glad to see Martin doing better - not only from the body but also from the soul. Martin says that with all that happened he has had time to think and he'll forgive Veronica. Even though he has nothing to forgive. But whatever. Padre Juan tells Martin that he was worried because Veronica had told him that she had visited Demetrio's grave. Martin says that he saw her at the grave and heard what she said - that she loved both him and Demetrio. All this is what convinced him. Padre Juan points out that he shouldn't just forgive but also forget. Martin can't make promises that he'll forget but he'll try so love can be stronger than his resentment.

Claudia is now at the cantina and she lets Ireri, Pablo, and Pierre know that she's leaving for the city. This is bad news for Pierre but Claudia assures him that she'll be back. Pablo will be leaving with Claudia. Dr. F would love to leave but there is sooo much to do at the town. Pierre offers a toast for a good trip, an even better return, and above all LOVE.

Veronica returns after taking the coffee and flowers to the funeral and Martin hides the V pendant he was holding so Veronica doesn't see it. Veronica feels bad taking over as the substitute teacher at the school in this situation. Martin tells her that the children need her to be strong so the death of Jovita won't be more painful for them. Veronica admits that if he hadn't changed she'd never have accepted to be the substitute teacher. He doesn't want to talk about the past. He kisses her and they hug and when she's not looking he puts the pendant in a drawer on the nightstand next to the bed. But Veronica noticed that he hid something and asks him about it. He replies that it's not anything that matters. It won't matter ever again.

It's daytime now, and Claudia and Pablo are outside the hotel with Pierre and Teo. Claudia thanks Pierre for his hospitality and Pierre lets her know that his room and he himself will be awaiting for her return. He seems to want a little kiss on the lips from Claudia but she give him her hand which he kisses. He then gets nervous and accidentally punches Teo in the face. Pierre and Claudia head for the dock holding hands. Pablo gives Teo a letter and asks him to give it to Ana Perla. Teo will give it to Blanquita and let her decide if she gives it to Ana Perla or not. Pablo thanks him and Teo warns him to be careful when he returns because if the old goat discovers that Pablo is courting her granddaughter then Pablo will never see the light of day again.

Magdalena is packing her bags and wants to leave. Botel in his robe explains they can't leave just yet. He has to wait for Claudia to return with some documents which he must take to the mine general office. Plus, he also needs to purchase some medications. He gets all smiles at the thought that he'll now be able to practice using his medical license and be able to write prescriptions in his own name. Wait a minute...so has he been practicing in Mina Escondida without a license? Is he allowed to do that? Anyway, he'll now be able to do all this because he won't fear that Aaron will find them. Magdalena gets upset with him and sarcastically tells him that at least he was able to wake up from his nightmare. If he wants to stay, then go ahead, but she'll be leaving. She wishes Aaron were alive so he could find her and kill her. She wishes Botel would have never saved her. If she had known that she'd never find her daughter than it would have been best for her to have died. Botel tries to calm her down and Magdalena says that she wants to die so she could be with her daughter.

Martin and Veronica are cuddling in bed together. The two wake up. He asks her if she slept well and she replies that she did. It was beautiful sleeping together cuddling with each other but she was afraid that she'd hurt his wound. He is sure that with her love all his wounds will heal. He is sure that she won't harm him and he won't harm her. She tells him that he's talking strangely but she does like the tone he speaks in now. Ummm...ok. He tells her that he'll get better for her and correspond to her for all the harm he has caused her. She tells him that she's happy to be there with him but she has to get to school. He wants to stay with her longer in bed but she doesn't want to be late on her first day of school. She gets up to go and warm some water and Martin says that as his first duty as a husband he'll fix that water heater. Veronica gives him a list of other things that need to be fixed. She leaves and Martin says that he's happy. Nanciyaga comes into the room and lets her "patron" know that breakfast is ready. He notices something is up with her and asks her what's wrong. She tells him that she sees him happy and she wants it to be like that because that is what the deceased (Demetrio) wanted.

Botel wishes that Aaron were alive so he'd kill him (Botel) too. He can't stand watching Magdalena like this. She apologizes for what she said to him. He tells her that it'll be hard but like always he'll be there with her. He tells her that she'll have to start taking the medication that Dr. Del Rio prescribed. Botel tells Magdalena that Dr. is sure that she'll find closure when she finds out what happened to her daughter. Magdalena wants to know what happened to her daughter and she wants to see her with her own two eyes if it's necessary. Botel doesn't think so but Magdalena needs to do this so her head stops turning and turning. Her heart tells her that her daughter lives.

Veronica and Martin arrive at school where Ana Perla and her cousins are. Ana Perla thanks Martin for having forgiven Manuel. Martin says: time will tell if they made the right decision... I say: you all made the worst decision ever. Martin leaves and Ana Perla and Veronica chat. Veronica will be the substitute teacher until they can send over a new teacher with a license. Veronica will see what is needed so she can get a substitute teacher license so the classes can be valid. I say: but shouldn't she get the license before she actually starts the classes? Anyway, Ana Perla feels bad because she wasn't with Jovita when she died because she was with Pablo. If she had been there then Jovita wouldn't have died so alone. Ana Perla also feels bad that she has had to lie to her loved ones (including Jovita) so she can go and see Pablo. She also feels bad knowing that she has offended Pablo's girlfriend by continuing to see him knowing that she exists.

Mariana meets up with Virginia at the club and is all smiles because she received a letter where Pablo tells her that he's coming back. She's soooo excited to show him the preparations for the wedding. Virginia asks if Pablo said any more in his letter. Yeah, he did, he said he was returning with Claudia. Virginia wants to know how things are for Martin and Veronica. Virginia hopes that Dr. F stays there until Martin has fully recovered. Mariana thinks Virginia has become so considerate by not minding that her cardiologist stay over there even if that means that Virginia is left with no cardilogist. Virginia, modest person that she is, tells Mariana that she's always considerate. The subject changes and Virginia lets Mariana know that Emi is returning. He'll be sooo surprised when she sees how Virginia is up to date at the office. Mariana is glad to hear she's sooo excited and now she does believe that she's serious about Emi.

Veronica tells Ana Perla that sometimes love isn't what we hoped for. It's not even how one reads about them in novels. Ana Perla asks Veronica if she knows Mariana. She does but what's important is that Pablo behaves and gives Ana Perla her place. Ana Perla feels the same and feels that it was unfair to let Pablo to continue lying to his girlfriend. That's why Ana Perla ended things with him. Veronica thinks Ana Perla did the right thing and believes that only if Ana Perla gives herself her place will Pablo and any other man respect her and take her seriously. Ana Perla thanks her for talking to her. It did her good to speak with her. Veronica is sure that she and Ana Perla can be good friends. Ana Perla gives Veronica a blanket for her and Martin with their initials on it. It's to thank them for what they did for Manuel. Veronica strokes her arm and is nervous about her first day as the substitute teacher. Ana Perla tells Veronica that she reminds her of Magdalena. They both tend to stroke their arm when they are nervous.

Botel and Magdalena talk about finding Aaron's brother who lives in Guatemala. Perhaps the brother could tell them what happened. Magdalena hopes the PI will find the brother before they return to Mina Escondida. Magdalena wants to say her goodbyes to her daughter and she asks Botel to take her to her daughter's grave again.

It's nighttime, and Veronica arrives to a candle lit pathway leading to a romantic dinner table that has been set at the end. She walks through the pathway. Martin shows up and the two lovebirds kiss. Nanciyaga watches them.

As time passes we see a montage of things that are happening: Emi returns and greets his family but then heads right up stairs leaving Virginia upset; Veronica teaches her class; Emi isn't happy with the work Virginia has done and when he leaves she gives him a look as if she wants to slap him; Botel meets with Claudia and Alfredo at the construction company; Emi is at a meeting and focuses on his cell phone pics of Veronica; Veronica tends to Martin's wound; Magdalena and Botel visit her daughter's grave and Magdalena leaves a glass bear there; Emi teaches Virginia how to shoot a bow and arrow (oh no) and the two seem to be getting along.

Martin and Veronica have a romantic moment near the waterfall and we get to see some beautiful scenery. Veronica loves how he brought her there to see the sunrise. Who would've thought that he'd be soooo romantic. He tells her that the man that is with her now is the real Martin San Telmo who isn't afraid to love. That's the Martin that Veronica fell in love with a the club. The brave one with the sweet look and sincere smile. He tells her that if one day someone would have told him that he'd fall in love with her and that she'd be the woman of his life.... Veronica jokes and says that he would have run. Martin tells her that he would have loved her even more. He tells her that he'll make her the happiest woman ever because he loves her and that's stronger than any other feeling. The two lovebirds kiss passionately but it doesn't stop there. The two are now naked and we see them kissing passionately some more but not just on the lips but all around. We now see glimpses of Martin's buns that have been blurred out by Televisa and were cut by Univision. The two lovebirds continue their love making.

@Mauricio, thanks for your very detailed recap. Just the way I like it.

One small comment - the "oficina general de minas" is something similar to the "Minerals Management Service" that exists in the U.S. It is a regulatory agency.

Mauricio. Thank You Thank You Merci, Grazie. I got involved in something and lost track of time and missed the whole episode. So nice to have a very detailed recap so quickly.

OK. So does our heroine Vero not see anything suspicious with her skitzo Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde hubby? Or is she just so happy not to face Satan every morning she is not looking a gift horse in the mouth? Come on Vero, even Hitler had brief lapses of bearable, so they say.

So the 'Wonder by the Waterfall' is to make us believe CrazyMarty had functional man parts? I'm a regular normal man and I am not convinced. He still looks like that lead singer in the boy band Wham! from years ago. What if Grampa Pervert had walked up? Would he have tried to join in? And that dam sneaky Nanci Gaga had to be peeking from behind a rock. She misses nothing. Sometimes I wonder how many of her there are. She's everywhere.

I want Vero to finally know the whole truth about CrazyBoy and Vsnake too. Maybe she can put those two through what they have done to her. She needs to know what a messed-up puke excuse for a man she is married to.

Mauricio very detailed recap. Thank you. They need to start giving Vero a clue about Martin. I hated the fact that he told everyone Vero was a gold digger and he didn't trust her. Why is there a grave with Vero's name? It's either empty or a set-up but porque?
Romy

Mauricio, I really appreciate this and thank you much. Love you christening Crescencio the "old goat"

Bet that love making wasn't all good for Martin. Imagine he had all kinds of performance anxiety, wondering if Veronica thought him better or worse a lover than Demetrio. How long before he starts to berate her to tell?

More Blancquita please.

Hmmm, Virginia going after Jorge. I'm past ready for her to get going on somebody.

I want Magdalena to dump her ball and chain, Botel

Ana Perla feels guilty for messing with another girls man? How about having some self respect and kicking the sleaze bag Pablo to the curb and friend Mariana on fb.

Mauricio, enjoyed your recap although I still struggle with enjoying some of our characters.

So Martin undergoes a personality reversal and he and Vero celebrate the success of their love! I guess we should holler whoo hoo? I do hope Nancy wasn't spying on the mujer blanca making love with the master.

LatinaInMD, thanks for posting the extra visuals. There's a spam post from Natasha under that heading, if someone wants to remove it.

Facebook. Ha ha ha ha friend Mariana? Ha hoo hee. Those Many Escandildo girls aren't even allowed razors.

One of the members of our Caray community pointed out to me that ManuaLabor is an ethnic slur. Please avoid using it in any future comments, okay? I'm sure you want to contribute to maintaining a respectful environment here. Thanks, Kirby.

Gracias Mauricio for the well done recap. Missed the entire episode so I am so glad you made this one very detailed. First off when exactly did Ana "get a life" Perla end things with Pablo. As far as I can remember she has broken up and gotten back with him faster than Jelena. Secondly, I strongly believe Botel has something to do with this missing Vero thing. I'm watching you Botel. Last but not least how in the mother f-ing world are Mariana and V-snake friends. Is Mexico City that small they can't find I don't know friends who are similar to them and there interests. I mean V-Snake is EVIL and Mariana is wayyyy to giddy for my liking.

Mauricio,
Thanks for the detailed recap. I really enjoyed reading it.

I want to comment about our two main characters. We, as viewers, know a lot more than Vero and Martin. If we look at the story from there point of view, then we might better understand why they do what they do. First, Vero is a good person. She is loving, giving, patient and understanding. But she is also very vulnerable. She was left without a mother or father at a young age, so of course she is going to hold on tight to whatever she can. She loves Martin, and now being married to him, she is not going to let go because she truly feels that this is the beginning of HER family. She wants to create something that is hers, and she is going to stick to no matter what. We should also remember that, although Martin has been acting like a nut lately, she doesn't know the reason why. So, the only thing that Vero knows is that she loves her husband and he's been acting nutty. Since she's not one to give up so easily, she's going to be curious about Martin's behavior. That's why she hasn't left. And now that the marriage has been consummated, it will be even harder for her when she finds out the truth. No spoiler here because we all know she will find out the truth, it's just a matter of time. If Vero had found out the truth about Martin's vengeance before he decided to change, I think she would have left.

Now about Martin. All he knows is that his brother killed himself over a gold- digging woman. He promises his brother to avenge his death and goes to find her. All the evidence points to Vero. Even her family has bad things to say about her. So in his eyes she is the root cause of his brothers death. Problem is, cupid shot him through the heart when he met Vero at the Club. So this whole time he has been fighting against himself. And even though there is no excuse for acting crazy with an innocent person (Vero), all he knows are the lies from her family. Now that he has had time to know the real Vero, the fight within him is even greater. He swore to avenge his brother, but he now finds himself in love with the woman he thinks is guilty of his death. That has to be some pretty heavy stuff weighing on a person. I am surprised he didn't totally go crazy. I know people might criticize this, but you have to give Martin credit for "forgiving" Vero. From his point of view, he is forgiving the person he thinks killed his brother. In his eyes, love conquered his need for vengeance, and in my eyes that means a lot.

More later...
Hasta pronto

If you are going to destroy another person's life a little more investigating should be on order. Instead a couple overheard comments and Martin saddles up despite just as many comments to the contrary.

Martin has also been a victim of V-Snake. She manipulated him into thinking she was a sweet and innocent girl. Martin had no reason to think that Virginia would lie about her "cousin". Add the fact that Vero's beloved tio Jorge and Emi thought she had made some questionable choices too. Martin hears tails of a mischievous woman from none other than the man that raised her. Virginia has manipulated everyone she knows, including the Dr.

The comments to the contrary and living with Vero on a daily basis is what has made Martin stop his need for vengeance, at least for now. We don't know how long this will last. It's too soon in the story for a happy ending. There will be more obstacles in the way for the two recent love birds.

For now I am going to enjoy the happy couple. I never thought I would say this, but I am finding Ivan Sanchez quite attractive. I could not stand him on La Tempestad. Now he was a real nut case in that one. Ivan has won me over with his excellent acting skills.

I like Ivan and think he is doing a bang up job here, I just don't like Martin. He was hunting a maneater and from the start Veronica has been bambi and he wasn't smart enough, blind or too lazy to see the difference.

I do completely understand Veronica's vulnerability and her actions so far, painful as they are sometimes to watch and believe Martin had pushed her to the breaking point. Had he another jealous outburst or another bout of slut shaming she would have left. I just don't believe he's done.

@AuntieAnn and @tofie - as odd as it may sound, I agree with both of you regarding Martin. I'm not giving him a total pass; the dude messed up and he has so major atoning to do, but I also get him and his inner love/hate at ruggle. So, I'm also enjoying the present happy moment, expecting the future clashes, and hoping for the happy ending.

Struggle, not at ruggle. Curse you, spellcheck.

As for Ana Brenda and Ivan Sanchez's acting, I'm loving every second of it.

One curious note - other than their initial screen tests when Ivan was competing with Jencarlos Canela for the role of Martin, the lovemaking scenes by the waterfall were the FIRST scenes of the entire novela to be filmed between Ana Brenda and Ivan Sanchez. Way to break the ice, I say.

Oops I had no idea. I am using it as in ManuaLabor as in prison time.. Far and away the modt widesoread understanding. I hope it is not offensive to someone and this complaint is in fact simply a personal vendetta against me.

A quick search on Google does not corroborate this information, but in fact did yield an unusual sexual connotation. Go figure.

Kirby, I'm glad to hear you didn't intend to offend anyone. Please don't take this personally. When it comes to stuff like this, I think we have to be super careful. Again, thanks for understanding.

Anon 10:17, thanks for putting an end to any doubt about the offensiveness of the term. Anyone who uses it can expect to have his or her comment deleted.

Tofie, I thank you for your insight. It's always fun to read what other caraymates are thinking about the favorite/unfavorite characters.

LatinaInMD, ITA that Martin totally messed up and has alot to make up for. He is lucky that Vero is so in love with him and a forgiving and patient woman.

Wow, Latina, thanks for the info about the screen test and first scenes shot between Ivan and Ana Brenda. Boy, that must have been some introduction. I think they made the right choice between Ivan and JenCarlos Canela. Nothing against JC. I saw him in Mas Sabe el Diablo, and he was great, but Ivan plays this tormented, crazy soul character of Martin so well. I just can't picture JC outdoing Ivan in this particular role. Ivan does an excellent job of playing crazy.

Thank you for the excellent recap! Actually thank you to all the recappers. I get behind and then have to read and thank a few at a time.

I'm a bit of a TN sucker! I hate the behavior of Martin, but I'm a sucker for the story-- as some have said before me, I'm enjoying this calm before the storm.

I want more Julio less Pablo. I think Pablo's a jerk and assume that when he returns to find his wedding is all planned he will not man up and break up.

Isn't the TN law that if you don't see the body they're probably not dead? Hasn't Magdelena watched a novela or two? Come to think of it... I'm still not convinced that Pablo Montero won't show up later in the show for a duet with Claudia at the Purgatory bar!

Looking forward to next week.

Thanks,
Rebecca

This was a wonderful recap of a good episode. It was so nice to see Vero happy and Martin acting like a normal person.

The thing that bugs me about Vero sticking it out is that she hasn't really invested much time in this guy or relationship, and he's run hot and cold from the beginning. This didn't just start when they got to the jungle. It's not like she's fighting to save a 20 year marriage where they have kids, or something. Why is she so willing to take so much crap from a guy she barely knows? If he starts acting up again, then I hope she tells him off and packs her bags for real. And don't look back.

Mauricio- nice recap, thank you sir.

It would be nice if martin stayed this sweet, but he wont. Something is gonna set him off, and I hope shes (veronica) not preggers when it happens. And I hope nancy girl isn't the cause. Shes moveing from one patron to the other. Patron 1.0 is dead, and patron 2.0 is in her sights. Girl need to take powder.

NovelaMaven- I did not know that MANUELLABOR was an ethnic slur. Good to know. I was called the N-word years ago. It stung, didn't like it. Manuel's a jerk but he dosen't deserve that.
OMG its almost 1:00am. Ok guys yall are fun to chat with, but it is way passed my bedtime. Good Morning night :-)

Thanks NM. I simply try to be nice and have some fun, and hope to be at times funny or maybe even educational. There are those on these forums who take all this WAY to seriously .

OK Martin.. Lets see here. Two days ago you could hardly walk because of that glorified mosquito bite ManuaL put on your side. Now you are rocking Vero's world like a porn star. Must be that stuff Nanci Gaga sneaked on you from Genomma Lab thinking she would heal you for herself.

Anon 10:17 nothing ethnic about your reference.

As the term does not apply to Manuel I will dream up a new name for him. I suppose confederate flag is out if the question?

@Kirby - more than two days went by, at least as suggested by that montage Mauricio described of various characters engaged in numerous activities. And I think the whole purpose of the montage was precisely to account for the need for time for Martin to heal before he could actually perform those "strenuous" activities with his wife.

I finally had a chance to read your recap, Mauricio, and WOW, it is stupendous! Thank you for capturing all the details in such an amusing and masterful way. "Old Goat" it is from now on.

My favorite moment was when the kids giggled and applauded the couple. In fact it seemed so spontaneous that I thought it might be a lucky accident. In any case, it was a breakthrough moment for the actors and the characters. I welcome the shift (without asking too many questions).

It feels like Vero and Magdalena are playing a zero sum game in which Vero's happiness is balanced out by Maggie's misery. I look forward to seeing Maggie and Vero together so they can figure things out.

Yeah, the thing with Claudia's blouse was weird. It seemed as if they had filmed a scene in which the sleeves of her blouse were torn off, then decided to cut it (the scene, not the blouse).

I agree with Vivi. Vero had ample warning that Martin was a bi-polar jerk, lol. All the hateful looks, weird questions, outbursts, and berating, not to mention not saying I love you, not consummating the marriage que? If she were not so emotionally needy she wouldn't have gone ahead and marry him. Martin swallowed everything he heard about Vero without questions. He dismissed Virginia as the other "V Prado Castelo" in one second. He saw him dismissing every thing contrary to what he believe to be true about Vero so he gets no pass from me.
Romy

True romy true, he didn't know them any more than he knew her, yet he chooses to believe the lies about his wife from total strangers. He wasn't all there. Lets hope he is now. He looks like hes at least trying.

I'm not even done with the comments but I had to stop and sound off. This whole manual labor thing is nothing more than political correctness run amok. I have done "manual labor" my entire life, in fact more than half of the word does, that is working with your hands as opposed with high tech machinery or equipment of some kind. Manual means by hand and manual work is nothing to be ashamed of as long as one is doing honest work. Yes, I have done manual work and if someone says that I do, well he/she is speaking correctly. I am not Spanish but why would that be offensive? As I said more than half of the world works in some form of hand labor. Even in Asia many rice fields are still planted manually, that is by hand. So I say this is ridiculous. Call my work manual labor and I won't be offended, I think that this whole bit of foolishness maybe got started because the name Manuel and the word manual are and sound similar.
the gringo

Mauricio---A winner recap again. So complete and detailed, thank you.

Tofie---On V-snake. I'm past ready for her to get going on somebody. LOL I say give her to Carlos.

AuntyAnn---A Super Great analysis at 5:42PM

I forgot who said it --- Nanciyaga always peeping around and listening in. Maybe she is Rubio's sister. Rubio did exactly the same thing in La Malquerida. The difference was that when Rubio got the info on somebody, he would sell it for a price. He was disgusting. I think that Nanci will try to use what she finds out for her own good but not in a monetary way.

Yes, I was thinking Friday night that Marty is still having trouble moving around and yet he was fit enough to make Vero very happy. Que?

THE SCREEN TEST BE DAMNED. It should have been the gringo and Ana Brenda.

Must see tv Monday night.
the gringo

I agree with Gringo and Kirby. The nickname ManuaLabor is no more offensive than any of the other nicknames we give the characters. If we acquiesce to each and every individual's definition of "offensive", we'd probably have to censor everything printed here.

As an increasingly ridiculous PC society, we're placing an impossible litmus test on words. Despite left conventional wisdom, we simply do not have an unrestricted individual right to not be offended. I have been directly called many ugly things in my life and I refuse to let it upset/injure me. I acknowledge my power to recognize/ignore stupidity and also the freedom for everyone to have an opinion, even if I don't like it. I say lighten up and enjoy the novela.

libertad de expresion

Thanks for the recap! Maybe I missed this discussion but-
Has Vero really had past lovers? Do we know? And if not, wouldn't their wafterfall passion not prove she was a virgin? She has done a lot of horseback riding. Not trying to be crude... it happens :/

She mentioned she had past bf's but not anything serious. She did not say anything about virginity but then that is no one's business. Martin obviously assumed she isn't and slept with any man that came within earshot, including his brother. I assumed she isn't but not for the reasons Martin believes.

Thanks Tofie! Surprised Martin lets her alone with the Padre!

I agree Anon 8:19. Lighten up and enjoy the novela. These stories are a good escape from the very harsh realities of real life. Tho, they do have some depictions of real life. The only difference is the good guys win out and the bad guys get there comeuppance sooner. Which don't happen that way in real life all the time.
These comments can get pretty heavy as I have experienced. But all in all, we're a pretty  knowledgeable, educational group of people.
I hope I haven't offended anybody so far.
ITA WITH THE BLOGG MOMS RULES: Let's keep them, and enjoy the novelas. This Is just my comment, excuse the bad spelling:-)

I was reading this at my office and I burst out laughing that I am sure everyone was wondering what was going on.

“Padre Juan knows what a bastard err he knows what Martin means about Crescencio and will have a talk with the old goat”.

Great analysis at AuntyAnn-5:42PM. I could not agree with you more. I completely understand Vero, because I was her in my 20S…I will be turning 40 soon, so hindsight is 20/20.

I actually think Martin probably suffered more than her…Martin, literally has NO FAMILY. He lost him mother and his brother (who he considered a son) and without giving himself time to grieve, he went out looking for revenge (I think he missed the memo on “revenge is a dish better served cold), he met Vero and it was love at first sight and he was hoping against hope that he was wrong and that it was Virginia that was the culprit, but all the circumstantial evidence...even from Vero’s mouth... when she told Martin that If something happened to Dim that it was his destiny... led him to believe that she was the one. To add insult to injury, she is nothing like he thought she would be, so in his mind, he is either crazy or she is a great actress, but the facts are that his brother is dead, he has a necklace that says V Prado Castelo and he hears V-Snake telling the whole family that Vero had an affair with Dim and she changes men the way she changes her underwear.

Let’s be honest, if we saw Virginia and Veronica across a room and we had to guess which one was a femme fatale, I think most of us would have picked Veronica based on looks alone.

V-snake not only knows how to play the innocent role, but she also dresses the part. She wears a head piece with every freaking outfit for god sake (symbol...HALO...little girl) and she is always in these very girlie girlie outfits that makes her look “oh so fragile”. Cut the guy the some slack.

And my two cents for what it is worth... it is not ManUAL Labor that is the issue, but “ManUEL LABOR” Manuel is a Latin name, hence the connotation. I am far from the PC police, but I get it. As a black woman, I do not condone the “N" word under any circumstances even when I hear a minority person using it.

Superb recap Mauricio! Thank you!

Ivan is doing a great job of making his character so believable. Ana Brenda is doing the same. I hope that they do another TN together. The intensity is terrific and I am really enjoying the show and look forward to every episode and recap. Can't wait for Emiliano to arrive on the scene. That should put Martin on notice. Magdalena is beginning to wear on me, although I am sympathetic, the constant crying is always over the top in TNs. It really gets old. She has been without her daughter for quite awhile. Pierre is way too sticky and ingratiating for me, but he does add some very good contrast.

So now let's see what destiny has in store for Virginia, Claudia and Manuel.

Gale

Manuel could change.
Claudia could fall for pierre.
Virginia could loose her memory, and end up a nun. God help us.

Great recap Mauricio, I hadn't read any of your recaps before this TN but I really enjoy your writing style!!!

Auntyann, so many of your thoughts on the Martin/Vero relationship are spot on with my thoughts. These two are seriously hurt and need each other. It's such a relief they are moving forward in a positive way with their relationship, and I hate to think it can get messed up at any moment. These two scores have great chemistry together.

I'm also enjoying Blanquita very much as well as her little brother Polo. Hope to see more of her developing relationship with that cute guy, can't remember his name now.

Maricruz

Thanks. As in a prison sentence for attempted murder.

Don't see any of these happening period!!!!!!!
