Amores con Trampa #65 ...some planned invitees to the store opening, some not so planned invitees making plans to go)... and a nightmare from the past is coming back, Facu!!

Refritos: Santee comes in Estefi’s apartment and is outraged at finding his wife’s furniture there.  He starts word-slamming down Estefi that she is a nobody, has nothing! Just a leach dressed as waiter.
He says he will get her out of his apartment.
New:
Beto confirms to Rocio that it was Hilda who got a ‘brebage’ into her drink. Rocio laughs it off, still not quite believing or giving the ‘witchcraft’ credit. She swears she will love Beto no matter what witchcraft is thrown her way.  Beto says he wants to marry her ASAP… he gets momentarily scared that the witchcraft worked and she does not want to marry him anymore… Nah! Let’s do it!
At Carmonas dinner table, everyone seems a bit more up in spirits… However, Maria stands up fairly quickly… Carmen tries to play peacemaker… Maria says she just wants to concentrate on her store.  Beto comes in.  He says will spend the day tomorrow with Rocio. Facu does not feel that is proper… but Beto says he will spend more time with Rocio from now on… wait for it… wait for it… he proposed to Rocio!!.. All the Carmonas suddenly are speechless, frozen in time.
At the Velasco living room, Santee seems a bit entertained at Isabel’s bad mouthing the ‘gorditos’ relatives of the Carmonas.  Santee starts getting slimy around her neck and she seems to not really enjoy it. Santee wants to roll in the sheets.  Wants her to warm him up… she says not even burning the furniture.  He keeps staring at her and breathing hard… mentions something about a police investigation.
Beto and his parents argue about his getting engaged to Rocio.   He doesn’t get why they let him date her if they are not ok with him marrying her. The parents angrily say they don’t want to become related to the VElascos.  Facu angrily rants at Beto that he expected Beto to protect his kids/family, not to go roll in the hay with that girl.  Facu throws Beto out. Beto says if you think you will stop me from marrying Rocio just because you kick me out to the curb, you are sooooo wrong.
In their bedroom, Facu is scared they just lost Beto for good. Maria rants at him for treating Beto like that.  She argues ‘if you had been tougher on him from the get go like I was this would not have happened!’  Facu does not want to argue. Maria just leaves the room.  Facu is upset that all his matchmaking efforts are splitting up the people he wanted to get close to each other.

Morning, rooster alarm clock again.  Isabel keeps cursing the poor rooster. Will end up cooked in rotisserie.   (she imagines the rotisserie rows of chickens cooking).   Santee wakes up too. Says ‘all is calm’.
At Carmona kitchen, Maria, Perpetua and Conchita are making some cake. Perpetua did put some kick in it.   Conchita talks about Santee and she does not understand why he is still married to Isa.  (is she attracted to Santee?)  Porfirio comes in asking for his ‘par de huevitos’ (couple boiled eggs).  He grabs Conchita by waist and calls her his mare… Perpetua gives conchita permission to slap him if he gets too fresh.  Perpetua asks Maria what is wrong.  Maria says she has begun to like Rocio but she is not quite ok with Beto marrying her.  Perpetua says she was asking about Facundo. Maria does not want to hear any more advice from Perpetua about trying to reconcile with Facundo.   Maria leaves a bit miffed, Perpetua looks up and talks to God, ‘if I did not know about these things…’ (which means she does know quite a bit).
At Velascos, Rocio and Beto are announcing their engagement to the Velascos.  Santee freezes a moment but then congratulates them, as does Alejandra and Felipe.  Isabel is still against it, although not as loudly as Facu.   Rocio asks Santee if he talked to Isa about stopping the mixing alcohol with the pills that the Doctor is giving her. Isa, irriated, agrees she will try.  She says she will agree to this ‘crazy idea’ when his mom (Maria) agrees to it.   Isabel leaves, Santee hugs Rocio after shaking Beto’s hand.
Nighttime… at Velasco dinner table. Isa is loudly enjoying her food (some pastel Azteca – looks like a Mexican lasagna).  (apparently Santee cooked it).  He claims he learned to cook in his trips.   Isa wants to say a toast for Rocio’s wedding.  (we have to make good use of our time together).   Rocio protests her pun, Santee asks Isa to be quiet while she eats.  Isa whines about going to have the rancher woman as co-inlaw.  Santee gets louder, forbids Isa from talking badly about Maria.  Santee confesses that the dinner she enjoyed so much was made by Maria. Isa instantly gets her hand on her neck and makes choking noises.
Next thing we see is Isa bringing the dish to the Carmona’s door and slams the dish on the floor in front of the whole Carmona family.  Santee comes to drag her away.  Facu tells Maria he does love how she cooks but he does not want her bringing any more food to the neighbors. She gets mad at him again and walks away.  Facu asks Perpetua if Maria is still mad at him… yup.
At Velascos, Santee rants at Isa that the condition they had was that she would not go near Facundo.  Isa says Maria could have poisoned them.  (I guess this is out of what Rocio just went through).  Isa keeps making choking/gagging noises.  She won’t eat anything they cook. Santee says fine, then you go fix us something to eat… he tells her that when he imagines life without her, he feels soooooo good!...
Later, Facu is riding Facu… Santee is watering the plants.  Facu gives him some unsolicited advice about not watering the yard so early in the morning.  Facu changes the subject to the ‘tarugada’ that our kids are doing.   Facu notices that Santee gets blushed out just talking about it.   Facu wants to make it clear to Santee that he has not given Isa any reason to hold on to hope of having something to do with Facu.  Santee says he knows … you are not interested in her… or are you?  Not at all.   Facu says he is glad that Santee admits that he and his wife have been doing many ‘tarugadas’ (against them).  Facu almost runs over Santee with Facu on his way back home.
At the office, secretary is telling Esteban about the noon meeting… Estefi runs in.  and ends up hugging Esteban in front of the sec.  She tells (grabs him hard by jacket) him that Santee is kicking her out of the apt.  She yells they have to do something drastic. He has a look like ‘yeah right, you asked for it’.
At the store, Maria likes the way Rocio has decorated/set-up the store.  Rocio asks if many people will come to the opening tonight. Maria says that Yoya (Carmen) is arranging everything with Frederick the designer.  Maria looks a bit excited about it. Rocio wants to talk about her relationship with Beto.  She asks Maria if it really bothers her so much that Beto wants to marry her.  Maria says nothing personal against you, but there have been so many obstacles around the two families, she is doubtful that it will work out. Rocio insists they care about each other. Maria insists she sees it ending badly for them.
Esteban undermines Estefani… She claims that her brain is more developed than his, but he just laughs it off…  She warns she is willing to tell Santee that the idea of kicking him out (by Facu) to the curb was Esteban’s.  Esteban calls her on her blackmail.  She also warns him she can tell Santee that it was Esteban who looked for her on social media to have her come to work their plan on Santee.  They keep pulling cards on each other back and forth… Esteban is sure that Santee does not want anything to do with her.  From now on, you are alone! So I will beg you… as a gentleman… get outahere!!
At college cafeteria, Carmen/Yoya is having a shake with Diego… the two shadow girls come by… they found out that her mom will open her boutique tonight and they want Carmen to invite them. Carmen asks ‘why would I do that?’  They swear they will behave…  Carmen gives them invitations reluctantly.   And she warns them not to invite anyone else, esp the ‘Pan…’…  The shadow girls leave, and here comes Hilda.   Of course Carmen is not thrilled to see her. Hilda has a sneaky smirk on her face.  Carmen starts arguing with her ‘don’t get ahead of yourself!’  Hilda keeps insinuating she is after Beto, not Diego.  Carmen threatens her with reporting her to the direction so they will kick her out.  Hilda just got accepted in the college as well.  With a scholarship… studying agronomy, just like Beto, to be close to him.
OF course the shadow girls give the invitation to Francis… She congratulates them.  Then she calls Isabel (boy this party is looking like it will have the best fireworks of the decade!!)  While Isa is still on phone, Santee comes in and he can tell she is planning something against Maria at the store opening.  He warns her not to pull a prank… She thinks to herself that this is her best chance to be triumphant once and for all!  Santee gets close to her face and says she can’t fake her evil intentions. She is the worst of villains!!  She claims she is heading to the store to buy some nail polish.  He gets sarcastic and says his coupons/food stamps are all gone.  He blames her for having crashed the dish in front of Maria at her door.  Isa gets sick just from remembering that the Carmonas were feeding them.  Santee stops her from heading out… She assumes he wants to roll under the sheets… he says ‘you wish’…  he wants her to make the bed (LOL!)
Estefani is dressed like a black widown bee… or fly… she is at Maria’s store, explains she just made a commercial about bug spray.  She explains that Santee got mad at her and wants her to move out.  Now she has to work at any job, even playing a fly, so she won’t go hungry.  She tells Maria she is a professional model.  She even gives Maria a demonstration. Maria says she could hire her as a model for her store… Estefi gets excited.  Can I do anything for you in return? How about take me to the gym?  Estefi offers also to give Maria a makeover.
The guy Florencio Gallardo, the one that used to be Maria’s other interested guy, is meeting with the guy that was at the Carmona’s for the party.  The guy tells him that things between Facu and Maria are not going well.  They are about to separate.  Florencio says Facu has never been worthy of ‘My’ Maria. He is more than willing and ready to claim Maria back.
At Carmonas, Perpetua is yelling at someone on phone saying she does not want them to insist.  Porfirio asks who is getting her so mad.  Facu comes in and asks why they are arguing.  Perpetua tells Facu he won’t like it one bit.  She announces to him … wait for it… wait for it… its … its   Florencio Gallardo.

Previews: Facu says the moment he sees him he will punch him.  Facu tells Maria he has a surprise for her.  VO: But Isabel has a plan of hers too… (we see the scene of when she showed up at the building unit he was staying at).

Thank you so much, Marta! I haven't gotten to see the episode yet...it sounds very frustrating. I will have to really think about whether I want to watch it or not. This recap is so detailed that maybe I won't have to torture myself by actually watching. If I do, I'm definitely FF-ing through Hilda. WHY IS SHE BACK???????? Blech.

I really liked this line:

"She assumes he wants to roll under the sheets… he says ‘you wish’… he wants her to make the bed (LOL!)"

It's really the (LOL) that I like. I can just hear you laughing at Isa.

Could Estefy be redeemable?

Marta, I cannot believe how quickly you got this recap up. Wow! I probably say that every week, right? :). Anyway, it was great. I liked especially your calling Francis's friends "the shadow girls": a perfect description for them.

Another fun episode!

Tonight I liked:
Beto asking Rocío if she wanted to file charges against Hilda. She said no but at least he asked.

The kids in both of the families being happy about the engagement; the adults (except for Santiago) not so much.

Isabel's image of all of the "roosters" (chickens) on the rotisserie.

Santiago telling Isabel that when he imagines his life without her, he feels good.

Granny Perpétua telling Granpappy Porfirio he should not become so bold (with the ladies). He answers that he is not becoming "bold"; he is bold!

Santiago telling Facundo he knows Isabel is not well in the head.

María refusing to confide anymore in her mother about her marital problems. From now on she is going to handle them on her own. All I can say is isn't it about time? I could not believe after all that happened, Facundo asked Granny if María was still angry with him. He really does not get it.

El Panzón giving Florencio the news. Cannot wait for his arrival!!

Jarifa

Isn't Marta tha bomb???

Thanks for reminding me...

If you don't mind Marta, I would like to use "the shadow girls". May I? I will tradmark it with your name of course.

Marta: awesome recap. Love "Shadow Girls".

Hate Hilda. GO AWAY! GO AWAY! GO AWAY!!

Sara: OT. Re: Girl. I'm glad you like it. I'm watching slowly because I know I'm going to really miss it when I finish. I think there were 16 eps total. I'm on ep 13.

They need to use some of that bug spray on Hilda. Do you think it will work? Why isn't she back in San Bartolo?? Grr.

OT Nanette - I've watched 8 episodes. If you start to miss Officer Choi you can watch Rooftop Prince :D

Jarifa- I'm also happy to hear that Maria is done listening to her mother's marital advice.

Here's my question- why does Fac seemed so threatened by Florencio, hmmm? Maybe deep down (pero muy en el fondo) Fac knows he's not done right by Maria.

Ugh Spam. Leave Maria's recap alone!

If you wouldn't mind deleting it Marta? Thank you!

Maria's recap? Low coffee levels+autocorrect = embarrassing gaffes.

It's Marta's recap.

deleted. had to go to
'post a comment' to see the trashcan.
as far as 'shadow girls', go ahead no worries. it reminds me of the girls on 'she's all that' movie with Freddy Prinze Jr. Love him in those movies like summer catch, head over heels and Shes all that. his favorite beach is THE beach from my childhood (we used to go there every summer and stay in the hutches for a week...) but what i love most is his voice and laugh.

Marta, this was excellent. I so enjoy your insights and comments including "Perpetua looks up and talks to God, ‘if I did not know about these things…’ (which means she does know quite a bit)". "Estefani is dressed like a black widown bee… or fly" made me smile. Like Sara and Nanette, adored "shadow girls" - what a perfect description for the annoying and clinging twosome.

My favorite scene was Isa imagining the hapless rooster spinning on the spit "(she imagines the rotisserie rows of chickens cooking"). I also enjoyed Isa's reaction when she learned she was eating Maria's cooking! Isa needs to be careful or she will turn into simply a caricature.

I believe it’s been mentioned before but I am puzzled and a bit disheartened by the prophecy of doom for Beto and Rocio, “Maria insists she sees it ending badly for them”. Basta! They are well matched and obviously in love. Let them live.

Jarifa, I am also relieved Maria will be forging her own way and making decisions without her mother. And Maria wanting to get on with her boutique business at dinner was indicative she is starting to concentrate on her work life. Good for her!

"(boy this party is looking like it will have the best fireworks of the decade!!)" You said it Marta. I am discouraged that Francis will show up. Sigh. Oh and Hilda? Get that pest out of town.

Diana

Thanks for getting the spam, Marta.

Now I can't wait to use shadow girls!

Is "She's all that" the one about the girl who has to pretend to be a boy to play soccer? I think I did see that and it was cute.

Diana- I'm also weary of the predictions of gloom and doom got Rocío and Beto. Why are they doing that? Do they really plan to break up this couple that actually seems to be a couple? They love and care for each other and they communicate and work together to solve problems. Gah! Please let them be happy!

The sudden registration of Hilda at the University does make me wonder it they are going to redeem her and set her up with Diego (as was suggested.) All I have to say about that is please no.

Hilda almost poisoned Rocío and didn't tell anyone. So not cool. I'm wondering if I need to fold up the card table and put it back in the storage shed.

Sara, I don't want Hilda to be redeemed! She is a little conniver.

It pains me to say this but I have a feeling Diego will end up with Francis. As everyone knows, I'm always wrong but there have been moments when the two seemed to have some sort of connection. That would mean of course that Francis needs to be redeemed and I fervently hope that doesn't happen either.

Diana

Blech. I can't imagine Francis redeemed. Diego gave her a teste of her own medicine and she still gave Carmen hell. Then dumped a shake on her to boot! How does a character come back from that?

Sara, I think the card table has to go back into the shed. : ) Just like Isabel and Francis, Hilda is set on crazy and so far has been the most dangerous to others.

Diana, I could also see Diego with Francis. Maybe he will get sick of her friendship with Felipe and go back to his old friends and ways.

Jarifa

Whoopsie: " Maybe he will get sick of Carmen's friendship with Felipe . . ." Not even the coffee has gotten me going this a.m.!

Jarifa

"...set on crazy..."

I snorted coffee up my nose. Glad it wasn't too hot.

Diana- I meant to say earlier that I agree about Isa. She is starting to look like a caricature and not a character with depth.

I've never seen Nora Salinas in a comedy. She is cracking me up. Her fly costume and the cat walk prance were really funny.

Now that I've seen it, I really do wonder if Estefy is genuinely growing fond of Maria.

Gracias por todo Marta !!

Yesterday I said, bye-bye to Hilda. Who knew she'd be back so soon and enrolled in the university to boot. Now we have two nasty girls at school.

I would love to see Estefy change her ways and and be friends with Maria which means Estefy would have to stop chasing Facu. They could be really good for each other.

I hope the tables are turned and Isa and Francis inadvertently help rather than hinder Maria's opening.

Lola

Yes, Lola! I am really really really nervous about those two at the opening!

And I liked how Estefy and Maria interacted last night. I would like to see Estefy redeemed. And darn it I have to go drag the card table back out of the shed.

Lola, "two nasty girls" is right.

I've always loathed bullies, and both of these girls are dangerous. Not only to others' emotional states but to physical well being as well - Rocio could easily have died.

I don't want either rehabilitated. I just want Hilda and Francis gone.

Diana

Sara, I'm with you on Este. Nothing has worked out for her, has it? And I do think she is more intelligent than Fac, Esteban or Santi. I'd like to see her change and be a good friend to Maria. She certainly could use one.

Diana

Hmmm. Hilda might be a match for Francis. They could do each other in.

And I don't feel like Estefy has been as vile as Esteban and Isa. Her "evil plans" have all seemed so comical to me. Nothing like Isa's emotional abuse and poisoning people.

Marta- Excellent and detailed as always!

Watching Estefi with Maria had me hoping Estefi can be redeemed because she makes Maria smile and laugh, and she needs more of that in her life. If she weren't after Fac, then I'd be all for their friendship, even with Estefi's other faults. She's a hoot.

Wish we could us that bug spray on Hilda and Francis. Be gone, pests!

I like Estefany. She at least knows how to work to survive (even in an insect costume) until her next not so ethical "scheme" presents itself. It would be nice if her friendship with María would be a stronger motivation than getting to Facundo.

Jarifa

This would be nice-Florencio comes into town, but ends up falling for Estefy instead. She loses interest in Facundo and she and Maria could still be friends.

Sara: OT. I think you've caught up where I started. I calculated that I missed the first 8 eps.

Sara- I like that potential match-up. I'm sure Estefi could be attracted to a handsome rancher like Florencio.

Nanette OT- I will be eating Korean food for dinner. Can you guess why? :-) I'm in my bed now, surrounded by cats and watching "Girl" .

I wish Televisa would take a page from the K-drama manual.

But Florencio will need to be rolling in the money. Estefy may be redeemable, but I suspect she'll always want the finer things in life.

OT: two interesting movies in Spanish. The first one I saw earlier this week at the Chicago Jewish Film Festival: "Mr. Kaplan" (Uruguay 2014). The second was also a Chicago Jewish Film Festival pick that I saw a couple of years ago at a Latino film festival: "Cinco días sin Nora" ("Nora's Will") (Mexico 2008). They are classified as drama/comedy, also black comedy. I enjoyed them both.

Jarifa

Thanks for the recommendations, Jarifa! I found the Nora's Will dvd on Amazon and put it on my wishlist. It sounds very interesting!

No luck with Mr. Kaplan so far. I will keep trying though!

Thanks, Marta. My favorite: They keep pulling cards on each other back and forth… Perfect summation of Estefany and Esteban.

I wish Estefany could be redeemed, but so far she’s been willing to stab all her partners in the back: Santi, Esteban, the fake maid. Will Maria fare better?

I too am so glad Maria refused to confide again in Perpetua. You’d think Perpetua was Facundo’s mother the way she always backs him, even ratting out Maria to him. And what’s with her keeping Florencio from reaching Maria on the phone? Maria is a grown woman, not a kid.

Yay, Florencio is finally here! Agustín Arana and África Zavala had good chemistry in Para Volver a Amar. Yeah, Facundo, you should be scared. Funny how El Panzón irritates Florencio the same as he does Fac. But El Panzón is right about one thing. Why is Fac so ticked at Florencio since Fac is that one that stole Maria away?

Only super arrogant Isabel would have the nerve to make fun of the Carmona’s relatives after the spectacle she caused over there. Loved when Santi told her that she’ll have to cook herself since she tossed Maria’s food on the ground.

When Conchita said she didn’t know why Santi stayed with Isa, I think she was about to spill the beans about him carrying on with another man (mistaking Estafany for a man on the phone), but she got interrumpted.

I am still so ticked at Fac, but the preview of him planning to seduce Maria back before she gets a whiff of Florencio was lol.

OT, Sara, so far it has been a summer of fun pure action films out at the movies (Mad Max, San Andreas, and Jurassic World). "Mr. Kaplan" and "El Corazón de León" ( on Cinemax freeview) were a nice change of pace. Looking forward to the autumn offerings at the movie theaters around here. We usually get at least one Spanish language feature film. Last year it was "Cantínflas" and "A La Mala". The year before that it was "Instructions Not Included" and "Pulling Strings."

Jarifa

Niecie, good point about El Panzón. He is the kind of guy that probably iirritates everybody. Very funny!

Jarifa

I'm so jealous right now, Jarifa. We do not get Spanish movies here. WAH!!!!!!!! Even our locally owned Indie/Artsy movie house tends to favor French films over Spanish ones. *wallows in self-pity*

I do need to check out "Pulling Strings". I saw the trailers on Univision and it looked cute.

Niecie-I really enjoyed África and Agustín in PVAA. I hope we see that chemistry here...but she's probably supposed to end up with Fac. I'm still not on board with that. They need to really turn Fac's ship around. He's sunk IMO.

And I hadn't even thought about how Estefy has stabbed everyone in the back. Yikes!

Sara, so sad about your indy/artsy movie theater. "Pulling Strings" was a fun bit of fluff. Good mariachi music, too!

Jarifa

Squeeeeeee! It's on Amazon instant video. I will try to watch it this week.

You can never go wrong with good mariachi music.

How much will Fac's trying to win Maria back be about his loving her and how much about his wanting to one up Flor again and/or his thinking Maria is his property?

Sara, about She's All That: you're thinking of She's the Man with Amanda Bynes. SAT is the one where Freddie makes a bet he can transform nerdy Rachel Cook (I think that's the actor) a la My Fair Lady.

That sounds familiar. Maybe I did see it. I saw a lot of those when Offspring was younger.

I fear you may be right and a lot of Fac wanting to win back Maria is more macho posturing than true love.

Maria deserves so much better.

And it kind of annoys me that Isa and Estefy are sooo attracted to that. What are you trying to say, show?

I'm watching the episode again. I really like the dress Maria is wearing when Beto announces he's marrying Rocío.

I like the long braid on her, too. Was disappointed when she went back to her old style.

The long braid is just softer. I like it better, too.

I swear I pay more attention to clothes and hair. I've got Vivi to keep up with plot details. :D Just kidding (sort of.)

To give Fac some credit, he has been apologetic and trying to get close to Maria since the wedding fiasco. He was afraid she'd go to back to San Bartolo. He was down when she left the dinner table without eating, and as usual he's asking Perpetua to help him out with Maria. All of this before he found out Florencio is calling. But competition does make folks up their game.

Fac needs to up his game for sure.

I know I keep saying it, but how oh how are they going to get me to root for Fac or Isa?

When Facundo asked Perpetua if Maria was still mad at him, I wanted to slap him. Really, Facundo?!

When is he going to get it? Ever?

Jarifa

The last episode?

Dress report- I also like Maria's blue and white dress when she and Rocío are talking in the store. The earrings are gorgeous, too.

I just watched La Dictadora Perfecta/the Perfect Dictatorship on Netflix. It is dark and cynical humor about Mexico's media (a thinly veiled Televisa) and their unholy alliance with politicians, drug cartels, the police and military. It's also chock full of telenovela stars. I recommend it. I'm sure we'd get more of the dark humor if we were Mexican, but the themes of corruption are pretty universal. There's also a running gag about a telenovela.

I actually love Maria's dresses. I'd gladly have a closet full of Maria's and Isa's dresses. But would neither wear cowboy boots, nor sky high stilettos with them.

That sounds interesting, Vivi. I'll add that to my list!

Y'all have great taste. I've enjoyed "Girl" and the 1 1/2 episodes of PESE that I watched.

Maybe I'm being too hopeful, but Estefy really does seem sincere with Maria.

Am I reading too much into her line "Voy a matar la mosca que soy"?

Ditto on the shoes, Vivi.

I don't think Stefi is there yet, but she could be redeemed. But I could first seeing her unite with Maria just to bring Isa and Santi down out of revenge.

So don't set up even the card table just yet. Gotcha.

(I was a little too quick with Hilda.)

OT to Nanette- episode 10 of Girl. Oh these two are so stinking cute together!

OT Sara. Can you give me a tiny hint of what went on in that ep?

Loved Maria's earrings in the shop scene, too.

One scene her lips looked different. Like she had work done. Maybe it was her lipstick color.

That's a serious eye for detail! I'm going to have to pay more attention to lips. :)

OT Nanette-I'm only 26 minutes in, but Choi and Lt Yeom know that the witness is alive and Pyo has been hiding her.

The scene I was commenting on had Choi washing dishes and his nose itched. So they were testing to see if he was getting feeling back (he doesn't feel pain and can't smell.) He thought a kiss was a good test. It was cuuute!

I especially liked how he scrunched up his nose when they kissed. He looked like a little kid. He's usually so serious with her.

Don't want to highjack the site, but would love to talk about "Girl" with you. Maybe we can e-mail.

I have to ask the patio - does anyone else find it weird to see Augustin Arana looking and talking like a ranchero?

Ha! Nanette I was just about to tell you to email me. There's a link in my profile. :)

Same here, Sara. I have only seen Agustín Arana as a businessman.

Jarifa

Vivi, thanks for the info on "La dictadura perfecta". Looks like a fun one. I will have to try to catch it sometime.

Jarifa

Augustin is a good actor, but it's going to take some time for me to get used to him as a ranchero. I'm sure he'll be great.

Is it Monday yet?

I think Arana's bio says he grew up on a farm and had lots of horses. Maybe he'll be showing up Facundo in the ranchero dep't.

Lola

Oooo. Thanks for that information, Lola! I really am looking forward to seeing him in such a different role. He plays the city businessman so well, I never would have guessed he grew up on a farm.

I was going to say something about what a tough choice Maria would have, but there had to have been something that made her choose Fac in the first place and I hope we start to see it.

After watching the episode again I have to say I like the direction Maria is going. She looks so happy with her shop. I loved how she and Rocío talked without yelling or name calling.

I read an interview with Africa in a Mexican magazine. In it she talks about how her character will change and it is meant to show that women can always move ahead and move forward.

Wonderful recap Marta!!

I can't believe Isa is going to ruin another event that is important to Maria. Was ruining the vow renewal not enough?! Really really hating Isa now.

Also surprisedi Isa had to go to Francis for tix. Didn't Maria say that Frederick was helping with the party? I'm sure he would have given his best friend a ticket.

Shadow girls are so pathetic. I hope Francis tosses them over and they are left with no one to follow, which seems like the worst thing that could happen to them.

I love the idea of Florencio and Estefy falling for each other. She is too hilarious and I hope she can be redeemed too.

Can I just say that all of the recappers and commenters are on fire with this show!

Took the words out of my mouth, Carvivlie! I love this little patio.

One negative thing though - I am highly disappointed by the absence these days of Margarito and the talking animals. I caught a glimpse of Margarito at the dinner table, but that wasn't enough for me.

But I guess Estefy the fly prancing on the catwalk was a pretty good substitute. I keep replaying it in my head. Kudos to Ms Salinas for donning a fly suit.

Silly question - what's the chance of this ending with no anvils? Could every character be redeemed?

Now, that is an interesting concept. Due to the nature of the "crimes" and character flaws, that certainly could be possible. Sorry to say, it would not be satisfying.

I, too, am missing Margarito and his little grunts.

Yes, our little patio is the best!

Jarifa

At the end of Dinero, no one died, got disfigured, or went to jail. Eeveryone got what they deserved but still had a path to happiness if they chose it. I think this will end the same way.

OT: Yes, She's all that was with Freddie Prince and Rachael LEigh Cook... and yes its about a high school soccer star / nerd / prom king betting on being able to date a nerdy fly on the wall girl... but predictably he's the one that gets hooked.
And in Head over Heels he plays a FBI agent that ends up across the street apartment neighbor of a girl (she restores antique paintings) who moves into an apartment with a bunch of high fashion models... well, the girls end up in a huge thriller mess along with him... reminded me of the Wayans brothers 'white chicks'... very similar funny all heck breaks loose plot.

I too loved instructions not included and pulling strings (agree its a cute mariachi romantic fluff movie but pleasant to watch) and have Cantinflas in my 'to watch' list.

Agree that we miss the animals... and want Beto and Rocio to end up well... they are a cute couple and very good for each other. look at them now. She has a job and he has a career!

ok, should have said soccer star / hunk / prom king WHO ALSO HAPPENS to have GREAT GRADES.

Sara- Well, I don't think it's fair what we should have to lose your enthusiasm, positive participation, contributions, and fun presence on the patio, just because of one rude jerk who does nothing but provoke, but contributes nothing to the conversation.

Vivi,

You are very kind. I really am trying to come up with a solution that works for everyone. I can't have this happening on Marta's posts. And to be truthful, I do feel like it is my fault because I moderate comments on my posts during the week.

Please e-mail my privately if you have a solution. I would like to keep the rest of the day open for discussion about the Carmonas and Margarito. :-)

Sara: that commenter is completely out if line. The comment needs to be deleted and you need to ignore them. The rest of us should not have to suffer because of some cowardly (won't post name), obnoxious person.

Nanette

I meant suffer not having you recap and comment. Without your enthusiasm and hard work, there would have been no page for ACT.

Marta- Head Over Heels sounds really good. I will try to check it out. Lately I'm in to more "fluffy" entertainment fare.

Jarifa and Vivi - ok. I do agree that no anvils at all would not be satisfying, but I do like hearing that in Hasta/dinero everyone got their due without there being death and disfigurement.

Jarifa- aren't Margarito's little grunts marvelous?

Sara - You rock! Ditto everything Vivi and Nanette said.

I too want more Margarito, Facundo the horse, and rooster. But there've been some cute background scenes with them lately. When Maria first offered to cook for Santi, someone was eavesdropping. A horse (maybe Facundo, maybe not) was behind a billowing sheet or something and his head kept swaying up and down. I noticed because it had been shown in a preview, and I figured it was going to be Isa or Conchita, but nope it was a horse. I bet ACT has some great outtakes of Margarito and his pals.

Ooo, Niecie! You know what would be a great Fin? At least 5 minutes of outtakes!

Ugh. Pardon my comment bomb but now I'm thinking about the Fin.

Pretty much everyone is married. So will there be a wedding?

Maybe another vow renewal ceremony?

Dare we hope for a party that isn't ruined?

Sara: Thanks for not letting the troll drive you away. I'd hate to see this blog become like every other show blog I've encountered. Lot's of negativity and horrible behaviour. Is Marta the only one who can remove that obnoxious comment?

I'd love to see outtakes. Maybe we could have a whole episode of outtakes--not just the animals. The actors all look like they're having a great time filming this.

(Going to e-mail you re: Smelly Girl--as I like to call it--soon).

Hope Florencio comes to town tonight.

Nanette- I only said five minutes of outtakes in my other comment because I was trying to be reasonable. I could probably watched 30 minutes to an our of outtakes. Human and animal.

Right now I want to see some Isa outtakes with Ale and Rocío. Most Itati's scenes with them have been so depressing so I would like to see them laughing and cutting up together.

(I'm looking forward to your Smelly Girl email.)

Oh my. A phone, not very dexterous thumbs and autocorrect make for a messy comment.

That should read "I could probably watch 30 minutes to an hour of outtakes"

Sara, check your email.

Jarifa

Sara: e-mail from me, too!! :)

Got them both. I've answered one and I'm working on an answer to another. But it's almost time for La Vecina, so it may be a while.

To the AcT patio: Unpleasantness deleted. You can delete your own responses to it or leave them, it's up to you.

To the Anon: We don't tolerate that kind of behavior. If you would like to continue hanging out on the patio, you need to be respectful to the recapper and the other people commenting.

No worries.
