Thanks, Jean!

I'm filling in for Novelera tonight unless someone else would like a chance to recap. If so, please speak up before the show is aired tonight. Thanks, guys.

I probably won't see tonight's ep and wouldn't be able to post a recap for Tues till Thurs - like last week

calling on any good- hearted volunteer who has done us a good turn in the past (Julia? no pressure though your recaps are awesome)
or anybody new who wants to do us a tax week solid

And if you're out there reading our recaps give us a shout out - questions, comments, corrections (mostly for me - I don't proofread my posts), crazy theories or just general crackpottery (as long as its not brujeria to keep our loved ones)
Just so posting it feels less like shouting into a vacuum :)
I know its scary to come out of the shadows, but if I can do it anyone can - really

Dueños del paraíso, lunes, parte 1

At a table by the sea...
As Renato stands by, Anastasia pounces on Analía, sure she sold her out and ready to make her pay the consequences. But Conrado stops Anas. Can she be certain that Analía is a traitor?

As Anas, Renato and the boys are heading out through the hotel lobby, they find themselves facing Ronnie Zamora and the Cubans. The Cubans and the Mexicans bare their teeth at each other and then move on, but Anas is convinced that Ronnie is there for a reason – probably for a meeting with the stewardesses from Chile!

And she's not wrong, dude. We see Vanessa in a sunshine-bright suit pitching her bad cocaine to Ronnie, sweetening the deal with a little affection. Ronnie gives her a message for her boss – get better stuff or he'll find a new supplier. Meanwhile Analía watches miserably, taking the full measure of the company she is in.

Over in Casa Quezada, Leandro has just taken Gina's order for a new car when Riquelme, Benavides and Corona show up to ask some "routine" questions. (In a sweet touch, Leandro's pale green leisure suit matches the fabric and color of Paola's slacks.) Leandro, of course, knows nothing about the murders that happened just outside his house. He puts on a show of outraged innocence, and then turns on Benavides: he is worse than spit on the sidewalk, a rat, a sell-out cop who works for Anastasia Cardona! Oops.

Back at the Police Station, Saúl puts on his own show of outraged innocence in the face of Riquelme's suspicion. He has values! A moral code! (But hey, don't say anything to Ferrera about this, ok?) When Riquelme walks away, Corona freaks out. She's going to tell Ferrera everything! Saúl follows her, catches up with her, and they argue. She can't take it, she says. She is going to talk. But then Ferrara himself appears, and Corona holds her tongue.

The House without Vero
Everyone is in black. Silvana has come by with an offer to drive the family to the cemetery. Adán asks where Luciana is. Delia hasn't seen her...

...because she is on the beach at the exact spot where her mother died. The harsh words she spoke to her mother echo in her head, tormenting her... I hate you... Everyone in this family would be happier if you weren't here.... She places a single red rose in the water and watches as the tide carries it away. Chad stands silently behind her.

The Perfume Warehouse
Anas reproaches Renato, though gently, for not telling her about Daisy. If they are going to beat Quezada, he can't hide things from her. She gets a call from Saúl. Corona has become a problem, he says. "Do I have to tell you what to do?" she asks him, this time not at all gently.

Now Sergio can shoot off more than his mouth.
Erika (on her way to Vero's funeral in a tasteful black dress) is surprised to see a gun on Sergio's desk. But what else can Sergio do with all the crime in Miami?... anyway, Sergio has BIG NEWS for Erika. Sugar Lips has caught Russ Meyer's attention! The gang is headed to Hollywood! Only Erika doesn't want to go. She can't just leave everything in Miami behind. Sergio is sure the next revelation will change Erika's mind. "ANDY WARHOL saw Sugar Lips and he wants to meet you!" "Who?" asks Sugar Lips blankly.

Dueños, Lunes, parte 2

Irene is also in black, on her way to pay her respects to the woman Bob killed by mistake. Bob is in black too, but he's not going to any funerals... except maybe his own. He takes his nose out of the powder for a moment and stares at the phone.

Luciana is back home now. She and Adán and even Delia move around slowly, like somber black clouds. "Did you ever think that something like this might happen?" Luciana asks her father. "Do you think God is punishing us for the bad things we've done by taking my mother away?" He tells her not to think like that, and promises he'll find out who is responsible. He hugs her tight.

The Cemetery – where hypocrites and mourners rub elbows
The Mexicans shuffle miserably over the grass, the men bearing tiny Vero's coffin to her grave. Anas gives Erika her sympathies. Then it's Irene's turn: "Thank God nothing happened to you," she tells her. The priest laments that senseless violence has taken yet another life. Adán's mind wanders. He remembers how innocent his family was, their wonder at seeing snowflakes for the first time. "You were my whole life, Guera, and I'm going to love you forever." Anas and Irene sit side by side, somber but dry-eyed.

A Bar – where Corona tells Benavides she'd rather go to jail than keep silent. "Have another drink," he says. "It's on me."

The shortest period of remorse ever.
Bob is on the phone telling someone his troubles. He can't believe he killed the wrong person. "I swear I'll never touch a gun again," he says. He ends the conversation abruptly because someone is knocking on the bedroom door. He grabs his gun – he's ready for anything! – and opens the door to ... Modesta! "I brought you fresh towels, sir," she says slyly.

House of the Broken Spirits in Chile
A woman sobs as she is hustled down a hallway of a ramshackle building, a hood over her head. She is forced into a chair. Someone pulls off the hood and pours a bucket of water over her head.

The Romero House
Erika sits beside Adán, rubs his back and squeezes his hand. Conrado watches. Adán pulls his hand away.

...the Chilean woman, nearly naked, is strapped down on a bedframe, and hooked up to a machine. Jorge looks down at her appraisingly.

In Miami, Vanessa and Analía are back in their little uniforms. Vanessa is counting a wad of bills; Analía sits and sips a glass of wine and looks as if she'd rather be somewhere else. Perhaps anywhere else.

Dueños, lunes, parte 3

... Jorge puts on thick gloves, grabs the probes, and administers a shock. The woman screams. Gerardo, impeccably dressed, stands quietly in the background. He winces.

Benavides insists on driving Corona home. Uh oh.

Vanessa and Analía are at the airport.

Anastasia and Renato get home and sit around like an old married couple, talking about this and that. Renato thinks making films in Hollywood is a good idea. Anas thinks Renato should be the porno movie liaison. He seems to like the idea. Modesta joins them with a bit of info to share: she heard Bob talking on the phone about Vero's death. Anas cocks her head to the side. Hmmm.

Benavides drives to an isolated spot in the woods. Corona doesn't understand...

Anas makes the connection. "How dare he mess with someone in the family!" She wants to tell Adán right away. Renato prevails on her to wait until tomorrow.

"Get out of the car," Benavides orders Corona, pulling his gun from his waistband. She opens the door and breaks into a run. He aims and fires, bringing her down with a single shot in the back. Was it a kill shot?

Poor Bob Venegas.
He tells Irene he's afraid Modesta overheard him on the phone. He feels soooooo bad. Irene knows that if Modesta heard, then he's dead meat. And the worst of it is -- so is she.

Home again, home again, jiggety jog
Vanessa and Analía make their triumphant entrance in Gerardo's garden (no one bothered to meet them at the airport). Everything went perfectly, they say. Vanessa relays Ronnie Zamora's message: they need to raise the quality of the product or he'll shop elsewhere.

You can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your cellmates
Crazy Marcelo the pozolero rocks and raves. Esparza hears him repeating the name Elias. Marcelo tells him Elias was the last person they cooked before the pigs came and arrested Teresa and took away the farm. Esparza thinks of Ferrera's offer...

The Next Day
Renato and Anastasia pay Adán an early morning call. "We know who killed Verónica," Anastasia tells him...

End of episode

I'm still out here looking forward to and always enjoying
your recaps and comments. Thank you.

I think the old drug a guy to cause problems with his
girlfriend is getting OLD. Some originality would be
nice, but I still love this one.Valverde is absolutely
despicable, but the actor sure is attractive.

Great recap, NovelaMaven. Many thanks!
I was a bit disappointed to see key statements I managed not to understand. E.g., Anastasia's question/order to Benavides. Oh well.... Even though I missed it, I knew that Benavides wasn't going to let Corona live. What surprised me was how naive she was. Why in the world would she tell him that she was going to tell Ferrara everything? I guess she was too drunk to try to wrestle the gun away from Benavides when he ordered her out of the car. Had she not been so drunk, she looked as if she might have been able to overpower him. (Hmmm...I don't remember Saúl's going back to be sure she's dead. That could prove to be a big mistake, as could his using what seemed to be an identifiable gun.)

I wonder whether Irene will off Bob. I suspect her self-preservation instincts trump any feelings she may have for him.
Then again, he may well realize the danger she poses....

I always enjoy your paragraph headers, in this case "Home again, home again, jiggety jog" and "You can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your cellmates."

Tierra - lunes
Here's a quickie recap from memory.

On Friday's episode, Arturo was on his way to see Sofia and the baby when he and Isabel were kidnapped. They were taken to a remote house and tied up. Arturo gets untied, attacks the kidnappers and gets a weapon. The kidnappers grab Isobel and Arturo gives up. The bad guys give him the famous injection in the neck. Once he is unconscious, we find out that the whole kidnapping thing was a set up by Isabel. She has Arturo taken to her bedroom, gets undressed, takes off Arturo's shirt and gets in bed with him but apparently just caressing is on the menu.

Naturally, Isobel takes Arturo's phone while he is unconscious and answers when Sofia calls and tells her that Arturo is asleep after their passionate lovemaking and of course Sofia believes her. Sofia is destrozada and wonders why Arturo has betrayed her.

Cayetana and Leo are smooching in a public restaurant and Valverde catches them. Valverde asks Caye if her daughters know about her relationship with Leo and makes other offensive remarks such that Caye has to restrain Leo from attacking Valverde. Caye does mention how much she wants to split Arturo and Sofia up.

Irina meets Flavio at the Palenque night and ends up dancing on the bar. (I fast forwarded through a lot of this.) Bottom line - she has agreed to marry Flavio in a park or somewhere outside. She is caught by Cayetana leaving the house in a wedding dress and tells her that she has a "casting," an audition. Andrea is suspicious and follows her but gets a flat tire. Irina and Nieves finally arrive where Flavio, Dario, Tomas and the priest are ready to pull the plug. Irina and Flavio tie the knot and Andrea shows up just too late.

Soledad has been providing motherly support to Veronica who is staying at the Gallardo place. Miranda shows up there and is her usual nasty self, which brings Soledad very close to revealing her relationship to Veronica but she doesn't.

Samuel goes to his office at the bank and finds it completely trashed. He tells his assistant that he knows who did it - Andrea. He tells his assistant to get the surveillance tapes and call the police.

Arturo wakes up in Isabel's bed. She tells him that her father paid the ransom for them, they were released and she brought him home with her. Arturo wants to report the incident to the police.

After Arturo leaves, Isabel tells Valverde that she has succeeded in splitting Arturo and Sofia up. She expresses admiration for Arturo's daring and abilities in taking on the kidnappers but concludes that he would never work for Valverde's organization.

That was about all that I recall.

Tierra.

Thanks Jean! I couldn't catch all that was said between Valverde and Isadora, so thanks for clearing that up.

Why wasn't Arturo wondering, among other things, why he was half naked when he woke up?

I am glad the knot got tied before Andrea showed up. That would have taken another month to resolve otherwise.

I am with the group thinking/hoping Brigette's death was a fake. Doubtful, but it is novelaland and we never saw the actual explosion.

DUENOS:

I LOVED your recap, NovelaMaven. Thanks!

I don't think Conrado handled things so well with Analia, since she HAD betrayed Alejo, and now they're dealing behind Anas's back. Conrado always thinks there's no problem when there is. Except with Erika, where's he's overly suspicious (although now his suspicions are bearing fruit).

Russ Meyer's films really were erotic, not porn. So if that's what Erika's doing, people shouldn't be so harsh with her.

Remind me, if I'm working with the mob, but betray them, not to get drunk with one of my associates. They always get the snitch drunk before killing her. I think Rita should have realized this.

The police are so inept, sure just ask Leandro what happened outside his house, that'll solve the case, right? We know Gina did it, doubt the cops will ever find out.

Things sure are spiralling out of control for Anas, I can't fathom what's gonna happen. But that's a good thing.

Dueños

wow, what an amazing recap NovelaMaven,
thanks so much for jumping in and helping out!

is this story coming to an end or is it more like a bumped hornet's nest.

I was surprised Anas didn't question why Bob made the kill, maybe she just understands his business, give him the money and he does the job.

that Vanessa is a wild one, but I think that hanging with Jorge is a bit risky, and why does he only torture pretty young girls.

when the cops showed up at Leandro's, (and doesn't he have someone to warn him), an amazing job by Gina to beat feet around the corner without them seeing her.

and so Erika is going to Hollywood and Renato is going to manage that business, what?

Lu, Adan, and Delia, "move around slowly, like somber black clouds." wow, what a good description, and of course Chad is fluttering around in his black leather jacket in case there is something he can do.

at the funeral, "Anas and Irene sit side by side, somber but dry-eyed", Anas didn't even bother with the wake.

poor Rita.

Conrado starts smoking everytime he sees Erika's affections now going to Adan.

who was Bob confessing to on the phone? wow, Modesta at your door, that would scare me too.

I'm not sure what is going on with Alejo, Elias was his lawyer, maybe no one bothered to tell him he was a mole and he thinks they killed him to make sure to keep him in jail.

and not sure why they are telling Adan now when they have no proof, shouldn't they take Bob to the Victor Manuel basement for some under-the-stairs time and maybe a chat, but I guess Bob never really has anything to say.

Dueños

Juanita, Hombre and deb, I really appreciate the kind words.

Juanita, I thought Rita's naivety was a little hard to believe too. Oh well, gotta keep the plot moving along. But unless Saúl stands over her and empties his gun into her, there's a good chance she's going to survive, don't you think?

"I wonder whether Irene will off Bob."
One can only hope.

"...I suspect her self-preservation instincts trump any feelings she may have for him."
Did you say feelings and Irene in the same breath? You're kidding, right?

deb,
"an amazing job by Gina to beat feet around the corner without them seeing her."
YES! I wish I had included that in the recap. That Gina, man, she has a knack for escape while the people around her tend to end up dead. So the cops come, she disappears, Leandro stages a diversion, and the cops go away empty-handed and sniping at each other.

"who was Bob confessing to on the phone?"
He told Irene that it was "El Manos," I think, apparently a 'colleague,' someone (the only one?) who would be sympathetic to what Bob was feeling. But Irene just kept saying "I told you not to talk to ANYONE about this!"

"and not sure why they are telling Adan now when they have no proof, shouldn't they take Bob to the Victor Manuel basement for some under-the-stairs time and maybe a chat, but I guess Bob never really has anything to say."
Hee hee. Yes. Well in the court of Anas, the standard of proof is set fairly low. And if they make a mistake? Stuff happens.

Hombre,

"I don't think Conrado handled things so well with Analia, since she HAD betrayed Alejo"
Truth is a slippery thing to Conrado, as are ideas like betrayal and loyalty. Anas is a black and white kind of a girl. The contrast makes for interesting drama, don't you think?

"Remind me, if I'm working with the mob, but betray them, not to get drunk with one of my associates."
LOL. I'll do my best.

TIERRA

Jean, thanks so much for the update! I've been working late every day including the weekend so I haven't had a chance to watch at all. I think I might finally get a breather for a couple days, though, so I may be able to do a summary or two this week. But if someone else gets to it first or wants to reserve a day to recap, all the better.

Looking forward to watching Irina and Flavio's wedding. I'm glad they pulled it off. I do not understand why Sofia is still living in her mother's house with her ex-husband, either. They do nothing but annoy her. She should at least decamp to the beach house if she isn't going to do much work on the ranch for now, anyway.

Duenos
Super recap,
I thought I understood Alejo's cellmate saying "escape" & Alejo had a light bulb moment. Did anyone else understand that or is my imagination taking over my mind?

AVENIDA BRASIL

Did anyone watch last night? Here is a quickie recap.

It was New Year's Eve 1999-2000 and apparently the world did not crash and no one got the blue screen of death.

But--there was plenty of hoopla going on in Brasil. Monalisa celebrated her new life with all the folks coming back to Paraibo. She and Iran (Angelito) have bonded. That is good, for now.

Alexia was invited to a party (or was it two different parties). In any case she was confronted with two parties, both belonging to Carlos. Carlos swears he loves them all and all his children and those to come (as he looks at her belly). They go outside to talk. He promises to be a good provider. She and the baby will lack for nothing. She wallops him one upside the head. That is good, for now.

At another party, everyone is waiting for Tifon to arrive, with Carminha looking very demure, sweet (who actually looks smashing in a white shift) on his arm. A reporter sticks a mike in his face and asks if this is his "new" novia. He looks at him then at her and then back at the reporter and says NO, this is my future wife. That's good, for now.

The tirador family is actually enjoying New Year's Eve and the fireworks. Then it's back to work the next day. Rita sees a picture in the paper of her evil stepmother Carminha with Tifon, announcing their wedding. Rita HAS to see him and warn him about Stepmom. She decides to go to the futbol stadium and intercept him there. Mama Lu tries to talk her out of it, but Rita es decidida. She takes off during a work day. This is not good, for now.

Monalisa is relaxing infront of the TV when who should appear at the futbol game? Not Santa Claus or his reindeer. It's Tifon and he's asked about his prometida. The interviewer wants to know if it's true they are expecting a baby. Yes, it's true. Monalisa is furious. "That woman" is pregnant and she'll bet that isn't (or is?) Tifon's baby. That is not good at all.

Rita gets to the stadium and actually gets Tifon's attention through the fence. She tries to spill the beans about Stepmom when she is removed from the scene. Mama Lu has pulled her away and tells her it really isn't any of her business to interfere. Who would believe her anyway. That is good, for now.

A few days later, a decent sort of middle-class couple has arrived and is seen talking to Mama Lucinda. They approach Rita and explain that the lady is Brazilian and her husband is from Argentina. They'd like to take her to a better life in Argentina.

Rita refuses unless they take Batata with them. Hub and Wife look at each other, but it's clear they only want the little girl. Rita refuses to go at all. Mama Lu and Batata have to do a whole heap of persuading to get her to go. Mama says if it doesn't work out, she can return. There will always be a home here for her. That is good, for now.

There is a tearful goodbye between Batata and Rita. He tells her she WILL return, not as his novia, but as his mujer. (How old is this kid, anyway? He's been watching too many telenovelas.) The last glimpse they have of each other as the car pulls away is Bata running after the car and Rita crying, looking out the rear window (sort of the reverse of MEPS). But if it is good or bad is yet to be determined.

There is a wedding--yep, Tifon and Carminha, great with child, have tied a knot. (Careful, Tijon, that knot may be enough to hang you, boy.) Mama Tifon is absolutely over the moon welcoming the DIL she always dreamed for Tifon. This is only good for her.

There is a baby. It was an effort to birth this baby. Carminha is exhausted. Tifon has been recording every single digital second of this momentous occasion. He's over the moon with his new baby-----GIRL! Carminha hears the word nena and her face falls. The baby is put on her chest and she turns away in disgust. Everyone in the delivery room is oohing and aahing. Carm won't look at the baby, won't touch the baby. She asks that it be taken away. This is NOT good, ever.

AVENIDA B

I may have left something out or got it wrong, but there it is, a labor of ---- well not Carminha's labor without love.

If you catch any errors, please be so kind as to correct them.

AVENIDA BRASIL

Anita, I'm only halfway through Monday's episode and your recap helps me greatly, thanks!

I actually felt quite sorry for the dastardly Max as he was in the kitchen sink (?!) listening to his mujer smooch with the hilariously-out-of-shape futbol star!

The actress playing Carmen bugs me greatly. Not just because she's an arch-villain (and apparently, a misogynist!??! QTH hermana?!) but something about her nose/nostrils offends my sensibilities. And the crappy dollar-store clothing she has been wearing up until now, although I have a sense that is about to change!
~ Wee Rita

Dueños

Thanks,Variopinta! I didn't hear crazy Marcelo talk about escape (though maybe he did say it about Elias trying to escape). It did look like Alejo had an lightbulb moment when he heard about his lawyer and then remembered Ferrara trying to get him to help him put away Anastasia. I guess we'll find out more tonight.

Tierra
Jean many thanks- great recap I was barely able to catch the wedding @ the end so the info on what happened between Arturo and Sophia was especially welcome
sigh, the famous tn neck injection - so over that

AnonGringa - yes I agree w/you about Valverde - if your talking the father- before I learned his name I was calling him the bearded silver fox

Newbie - I'm so glad I'm not alone in hoping Brigitte isn't dead - go team Brigitte!

Julia - yeah I hate it when work gets in the way of tns too - it happens to all of us don't worry about it, whenever you can is great. If I knew more about what my schedule this week will be like I'd sign up for a specific day, but as it is it'll just be whoever gets there first I think.
Didn't Sophia tell her mother once she was moving to the apt in Houston if Leo moved in to the house? What happened to that? Or did I maybe wish it so much I think it happened?

Avenida

Thanks, Anita, for the helpful recap. I wasn't planning to watch this novela--I hate dubbed versions--but people raved about this one when it was shown in the afternoon, and I wanted a novela to watch once Dueños ends. Having bailed out half way through El Señor 2, I have no wish to watch Telemundo water the thin soup even further for Señor 3. So I belatedly read the recaps and comments for week 1 of Avenida and watched last night's episode. The dubbing does bother me, and I'm puzzled each time I hear the "oy oy oy" theme song, but I think I'll keep watching and look forward to more of your excellent recaps.

Dueños

Thanks, NovelaMaven. Fine recap. My favorites: Meanwhile Analía watches miserably, taking the full measure of the company she is in and The Cemetery – where hypocrites and mourners rub elbows

Wow, is there any man Vanessa will not do? Is she aware of the torture goon squad that swirls around her?

Modesta always snoops in the right place at the right time. You go girl.

Sounded like Bob was confessing to his brother. So he does have a wee bit of a conscience.

I hated seeing Rita acting so clueless. No way would a woman with the stones to make detective in the 1970s be so trusting of Saúl.

Dueños del Paraíso... epi 65, Tuesday (Última Semana)
part 1

Adan gets the news, it was Bob Venegas,
(who alone in the dark sits upright in his bed at the far off mention of his name)
but they don't know who gave the order.

the girls are back in Chile (at Gerardo's), the guys test the coke,
yep it's Alas de Mariposa,
and it's party time,
Jorge thinks they should all have sex together, swinging socios
Analia slides out of his grasp,
but Gerardo offers her a soft kiss,
ah yes that's why she is there in the first place.

and somewhere on the Miami beach lies another dead girl.

Paola is hanging tough with Iggy, spending time with him at the hospital,
she will honor her marriage vows, against Iggy's wishes,
but JC shows up and borrows her,
so Iggy picks up the newspaper, "mexican housewife shot at the beach"
with a smiling pic of Vero,
it's hard to read his thoughts.

Adan is also looking at that news article,
gets a call, it's all arranged, Anas said to let you know.

JC brings Paola back to his hotel room,
a surprise for you, it's Mama!
gasp!
I knew she wasn't ready for this, Mama says.

the party at Gerardo's is moving right along,
a half naked Vanessa is straddling Jorge, putting her wig on him,
while Analia and Gerardo roll on a blanket,
and Ines, well I don't think she was invited, grabs a gun,
did she call them degenerates before vowing to shoot them all.

but she only shoots the table before quick thinking Analia is on her,
they wrestle with the gun, she falls backwards, hits her head on the side of the pool,
and rolls on in,
whoa!

Gerardo fishes her out, (this looked so awkward, is she stiff already?)
Analia says she's dead, Vanessa is upset,
and Jorge looks annoyed, we'll just make her disappear.

JC (or is it Jota that everyone is calling him) hopes Paola can understand,
why he lied to her for 5 years,
nope,
Paola will not forgive her Mama for abandoning her,
5 years crying, thinking she was in heaven,
no,
I was in hell, a prison in Texas
crossing the border she had drugs planted in her luggage,
(jeez, I don't know if I would believe that one either, it happens in every narconovela)
her father set her up, and with no money for a lawyer.

as the story goes, Jota was always close to his mother,
(and it doesn't help that they keep touching, kissing, and calling each other mi amor while telling the story)
Christmas eve, Leandro sees them dancing close, gets jealous,
beats them both to the ground,
blames it on marijuana.

Dueños del Paraíso... epi 65, Tuesday (Última Semana)
part 2

Leandro drops in to chat with Iggy, where's Paola?
Iggy is itchy to get back to work,
better that you rest, Leandro says,
but Iggy keeps pushing and Leandro talks straight,
wouldn't look good to have a guy running things that can't go to the bathroom on his own,
I gave your job to Jota.
hmm, "el Jota" Iggy says...

Erika is sitting on the floor mourning Veronica,
I just wanted to talk to her,
Conrado is quietly pushing her for more,
talk about what?
Erika will be leaving tomorrow for LA.

Ferrara gets the word, another body was found on Miami beach,
he and Riquelme leave to check it out,
Saul will pass on this one,
at the morgue, they see it's Corona
(she looks bad, I would have a hard time recognizing her, what did Saul do to her)

a big guy grabs the dead Ines and puts her in the trunk of a car,
he, Gerardo, and Jorge take off, the girls watch,
as does Jenny the maid from an upstairs window.

Irene is off to dinner, promises to be back early,
Bob heads to the $1 eleven o'clock showing of 'Sugar Lips',
as Adan in black, is watching,

at Tio Orlando's creepy place, a communist free zone,
he talks politics with Jorge, I guess the heats on from that Jimmy Carter regime,
so they are going to change their name to the C.N.I.
and Tio thinks Jorge would make a good director.

maid Jenny picks up the phone and calls the police,
but is disconnected by the hand of Analia, Vanessa sipping a hot drink.

an erotic evening with Sugar Lips has eased the pain for Bob,
but when he gets to his car Adan is behind him, gun in hand,
and when he turns,
bang, bang, bang...

(where will Irene ever find another Bob?)

Dueños

Niecie, thanks for your comment on Monday's show and recap. I think you speak for all of us when you say --

"I hated seeing Rita acting so clueless. No way would a woman with the stones to make detective in the 1970s be so trusting of Saúl."

Dueños, martes

deb, another wonderful prose poem of a recap! How you manage to get so much into so few words, I don't know. All I can do is stand back and admire. Thank you!

So yes, all of a sudden, José Carlos is Jota and he's large and in charge. And Iggy tells Leandro he'll never forgive him for what he's done.

And la Señora de Quezada has spent the last five years in a Texas prison, thanks to LQ.

"(jeez, I don't know if I would believe that one either, it happens in every narconovela)
her father set her up, and with no money for a lawyer."

(I wonder if she knows Lucía Durán?)

So I guess Anas and Renato invited Irene to dinner to get her out of the way. But wouldn't Adan have wanted to know who had hired Bob?

Avenida Brasil
I am doing a recap of last night's (Tuesday's) episode.

AVENIDA B
Excellent episode. Looking forward to your recap. Please give us a list of all the grownup children and who they belong to!

Avenida Brasil - Martes Part 1

Thanks for the recap of Monday’s episode, Anita. I watched the daytime broadcast of this novela before the World Cup in Brazil last year so this time when Rita said that she was going to the Maracanã to find Tifón, it meant a lot more to me. I totally agree that the actor playing Tifón is much too chubby and un-buff to be a soccer star.

On to Tuesday’s capitulo, which was excellent and where we get to see grown up Nina (Rita) and Jorgito (Batata) for the first time. As usual, I’m doing this from memory so it may be out of order and incomplete.

Once again we see Carmina’s disgust at having given birth to a girl. Ivana brings her novio, Max, to see the baby, which we know is his. He doesn’t like it that she has been named Agatha but of course has no say in the matter.

We see Rita with her new family at their winery in Argentina. Her new father says that her name is Nina now. Nina learns to stomp the grapes with the other two children. (As far as I recall, it is never explained why this family wanted to adopt a child from the tiradero or why they changed Rita’s name.)

Carmina tells Max that she wants to get her other child with Max, who is Batata, out of the tiradero. She will persuade Tifón to adopt him. Carmina goes to the tiradero and tells Mama Lucinda that she wants to take Batata away. She had left him at the tiradero because she and Max couldn’t take care of him but now she can offer him a beautiful home, the best schooling etc. Mama Lucinda is devastated.

Tifón and Carmina are building a new grand house. We see Batata at the construction site. He and Tifón bond over football. Tifón tells the boy that his name can’t be Batata, he has to choose a real name. He chooses, Jorge, Tifón’s actual name but they will call him, Jorgito, the diminutive.

Monalisa decides to go back to Rio with Iran. They take the bus even though Monalisa now has lots of money from her salons, which are wildly successful. She tells Ivana that although she and Tifón are business partners, she doesn’t want to have anything to do with him.

Then it’s “años despues,” “years later” – 12 years more or less.
Nina has become a cook and has a relationship with the owner of a restaurant. Her stepmother is dead (apparently, she and Nina didn’t get along). One of her step-sisters is married (we will never encounter her again) and the other, Begonia has a drug problem. Nina is the favorite of her stepfather. Nina obsessively follows what is going on with Carmina in Rio. Her stepfather advises her to give up her plan of vengeance.

Nina and her step-father go out spear fishing. The father has a heart attack and dies but not before making Nina promise that she will give up her plan of vengeance. So much for promises to the dying – Nina breaks up with the boyfriend and tells her family that she moving to Rio.

Jorgito has become a player on the Divino soccer team but he has issues as we will see.

Avenida Brasil - Martes Part 2
Ivana and Max are married. She is “getting treatments” to have a baby. Ivana uses this awful baby talk with Max that would drive me insane.

Tifón and Carmina are throwing a big party for their 12th wedding anniversary at their big, nouveau-riche house. (It will become clear that this house is right in Divino – it is walking distance from all the other folks in Divino. Carmina and Tifón didn’t move to a more fashionable area.)

Verónica’s and Carlos Eduardo’s daughter is Débora and she and Jorgito are novios. Verónica can’t believe that after all the best schooling, including studying abroad, that Débora got, she ended up with a suburban football player. Verónica and Carlos Eduardo are invited to the anniversary celebration.

The anniversary party is over the top – there are fireworks in the pool, what appears to be an orchestra and video tributes on a huge screen. Carmina is still hostile to her daughter, Agatha, who is a chubby 12 year old.

Jorgito and Débora show up late to the party. Jorgito gets drunk. He has a bad relationship with Carmina. When he is called to give a tribute, he points out that Carmina is not his birth mother and is offensive. Carmina is upset and leaves the party. Jorgito goes to the tiradero and seeks comfort from Mama Lucinda.

Of the children we have met, we have seen Nina (Rita) and Batata (Jorgito) as adults as well as Débora, Verónica's daughter. We've also met the adult Begonia, Nina's step sister, who will return to the story.

Of the children we have met, Betania, one of the other children at the tiradero will also turn up as an adult as will Carlos Eduardo's other two children: Tomas, Noemia's son and Paloma, Alexia's daughter. Paloma is the same age as Agatha and Iran, Monalisa's son.

Plus, there will be a bunch of guys associated with the football club that we have yet to meet who can be very hard to tell apart.

Terrific recap, deb! Muchas gracias. It's beautifully written and filled in some pieces that I missed.

I was a bit surprised that the body turned out to be Corona's. I mean, it made sense, but I thought that Saúl left as soon as he shot her. For her to be by the water, and so badly bruised, he would have had to beat her and move her (and it doesn't look as if moving her would have been easy for him).

Well, I guess with Bob's murder Adán's conversion to the dark side is now complete, from law-abiding, loving, and somewhat innocent to a drug dealer and a murderer. I have to confess, however, that I cheered when he shot Bob.

DUENOS:

Thanks for another great recap, Deb!

Looks as if Irene will escape the blame by Bob's just being killed without talking. I figure Anas is smart enough to know Irene had to be involved, somehow, but I can't imagine Irene telling the truth.

Vanessa was holding up her foot, showing she was wearing pantyhose, which was probably very standard in the 70's, not so much these days (I don't think flight attendants even wear skirts these days).

Yesterday I had thought Ronnie Zamora liked the coke Vanessa and Analia had, saying it was the best ever, but the recap said it was low quality. Today, they had the Alas de Mariposa, so I'm confused (not that it really matters).

Saul was too wise to let Rita off w/o killing her. If he's REALLY smart, he'll try to show that SHE was the snitch, and the Cardona's shut her up. Not sure if Ferrara would buy that.

Orlando said that if the death of Ines gets in the papers, Jorge can't have his new job as head of CNI. Will they have to kill Jenny to prevent it? Gerardo really cared about Ines, even though he was more excited by Analia. Can he still be with Analia, knowing she (accidentally) killed his fiance?

Is Conrado going to stand by idly and let Erika go to California?

So many things to happen, and only 4 episodes left!

AVENIDA BRASIL

Jean, thank you so much for the recap. It is greatly appreciated.

Linda

Avenida B
Many thanks, Jean, for your very helpful recap.

I missed the first few days of the novela, and I'm still trying to figure out aspects of the plot. For example, wouldn't Batata recognize Carmina? And why would the daughter of Carmina and Max have dark hair? Ironically, she really looks much more as if she's Tifón's biological daughter.

That scene with Rita et al pressing the grapes looked like fun, but as someone who enjoys wine, I'd rather not have seen it. I fear the next time I take a sip all I'll be able to think of is foot fungi!

AVENIDA B

Jean, double thank you for the recap--from memory? From when it was broadcast in daytime? Congratulations. I forget stuff between in the minute between the TV screen and the computer.

I was sorry to see Jorgito (Batata) become a heavy drinker. He and Nina (Rita) don't deserve that as a starting point when they meet again. He was such a straight arrow in his time at the tiradero. There must be something else about or besides Carminha that has led him to drink. I'm sure we'll find out.

AVENIDA B
Juanita--You have a point. Do we know for sure Agata DOES belong to Max? Or was that another lie Carminha told him? OTOH, Jorgito is also supposedly a product of Carminha and Max. Not only does he have dark hair, but darker skin--almost like Agata's. Oh well, it's only a tn, it's only a tn.

AVENIDA B
Juanita--We have to assume Batata was dropped off at a very young age not to recognize her. I'm beginning to suppose there is more to the story than that. Mama Lu was clearly upset and outraged that Carm would come back to claim him now. I think there is a biological relationship between Mama Lu and Carminha. But maybe I'm reading too much into this. It's only a tn, it's only a tn.

Avenida B
Thanks, Juanita.
Concerning Batata remembering Carmina, if he were left at the tiradero as an infant, he wouldn't remember his mother BUT we will see that Jorgito does remember things.

According to Wikepedia, crushing grapes by foot gave way almost everywhere to using wine presses a long time ago - like the 18th century. Foot fungus aside, a press produces a lot more juice to make wine than feet. So I guess those scenes were the popular image of a winery, not the reality.

Avenida B
Anita, when I said I did the recap from memory, I meant that I watched it last night and wrote the recap (in my office) this morning without resort to the video or notes. I certainly couldn't do that from when I watched it last year. ;-)

Tks mucho deb

We sure have a lot of necessary comeuppances for just 4 episodes. Sounds like a part 2 is in our future.

Rita had marks on her body, so I thought it was political victim.

Didn't see that one coming, la mama de JC y Paola. Paola should really be pissed at papa.

What would be the reason that Bob kills an innocent woman? They aren't thinking here. Anas should suspect Irene. Bob is Renato's henchman, but what would be his reason? It should dawn on someone that they killed the wrong person.
But hard to think that anyone even has a reason to kill Erika.

Avenida B
Jean--I knew you were a super duper recapper, but now a little more like the rest of us! I say that, still in awe of your recapping prowess. Can't wait to find out what Jorgito still remembers.

Avenida B
Anita, thanks for providing the clear answer to my questions: "It's only a tn, it's only a tn." How could I have forgotten that?

Avenida B
Jean, thanks for your reassuring explanation about the grape pressing. I feel much relieved! :-) Actually, I knew that in many places, grapes are no longer pressed by feet, but I thought perhaps in Argentina they still used the old-fashioned method, and since the scene took place in Argentina and among my favorite wines is Malbec, I was uneasy. The next time I have a sip, I'll offer un brindis para tí.

Dueños

Thanks, Deb. You hit all the high and low notes so smoothly.

ITA that it’s strange Adán didn’t try to find out who contracted Bob. I’m wondering if we’ll get a flashback of him or Anas on this.

My take is Analia isn't into Gerardo, just focused on her and her kids’ preservation. But after seeing how Gerardo can have his newly dead girlfriend lifted in a trunk and move on, maybe she should reconsider.

I hope Iggy can follow through somehow on his threat to LQ. But surely Iggy knew that his old job is gone. Iggy didn't show glee seeing the news of Vero's murder, so maybe there's some humanity in there somewhere. Or maybe he's calculating how he can use this for his own end.

There are some mothers and grown sons that are very touchy-feely with each other, and it is uncomfortable to be alone with them. But LQ certainly went way overboard with his discomfort.

Sugar Lips is already discounted to a $1? Strange that Sergio isn’t afraid that Russ Meyers will sign on Érika but ditch him, but I guess he thinks that contract Érika signed with him is ironclad.

DUEÑOS

Hombre,

"Yesterday I had thought Ronnie Zamora liked the coke Vanessa and Analia had, saying it was the best ever, but the recap said it was low quality. Today, they had the Alas de Mariposa, so I'm confused (not that it really matters)."

This is how I understand it:

-The coke the girls carried to Miami and sold to Ronnie was low quality and Ronnie was aware of that, going so far as to warn Vanessa and Analía that he'd look elsewhere if the product didn't improve.

-The girls bought coke from Conrado when they were in Miami, the fabled Alas de mariposa variety. That's the good stuff. (Jorge and Gerardo are trying to get Analía to broker a deal with Conrado and the Mexicans.)

Gerardo never told Analía he would break up with his girlfriend over her. He just said he would take care of her and her boys economically, but it was clear she'd have to do his bidding if she wanted to count on him.

Niecie,
Maybe that was the Senior Citizens late afternoon/early eve discount for Sugar Lips. :)

Variopinta,
" Anas should suspect Irene."
Maybe she does. Maybe that's why she set Adan loose on Bob before Bob could implicate Irene.

Tierra on Tuesday 4.14.15

Main takeaways:

-- Irina leaves her wedded bliss to go home with Andrea. Upon arrival, Caye comes to yell at Irina knowing full well what she did. Not so much, however, since Caye is referring to the Flavio/Irina perfume commercial. Naturally, the only solution to keep the lovebirds apart is to have Irina go with Andrea to Europe. Andrea agrees to keep the wedding a secret so long as Irina goes with her. What grown adult, newly-wed wouldn't agree to that?!

--Irina complains to Sofi. Sofi makes Irina call Flav to say she is leaving. Flavio doesn't answer, so she goes to tell him in person. When she arrives to the apartment, Irina gets the wrong idea when she sees a robed/freshly showered Vero hugging Flav. The two newly-weds run into the street and argue as a cop drives by. Irina tells the cop she has never met Flav before while Flav retorts that it's his wife. The officer gives Flav a warning and drives off as does Irina. Flav gets hit by a car and as far as I can remember was still knocked out when the episode ended. Correct me if I am wrong here...please!

--Andrea refused to pay the damages after destroying Samuel/Bea's office, so Cabrera comes to arrest her. She goes off to jail and calls Mommy to come save her.

--Arturo goes to see Sofia. Sofia asks to be alone with Arturo, promising her mom that this will be the last time. Arturo tries to tell her about the whole kidnapping scenario, which like any rational person, Sofia doesn't buy. Instead she slaps him and says she never wants to see him again. Art is resolved to get proof of the kidnapping.

--Sofia and Grandpa have a heart-to-heart about Arty. Sofia claims she doesn't want Arturito around Isadora, but the General points out that she just doesn't want Arturo Sr. around Isadora because she is still in loooove with him.

--Art goes to the Valverde residence. He asks Emilio to go file a police report about the kidnapping. Emilio refuses since they threatened to kill his daughter if he did so. Valverde leaves, arguing ensues between Sidepiece and Art. The goons step in (same goons Art didn't de-mask when he had them at gun point). Art recognizes their voices, "Have we met before?" End Episode... dun, dun, dun.

--PS: I cannot remember where this came in to play, but, at one point, Pablo was informed about the Vero/Flavio hug and now thinks those two are together.

--PPS: Feel free to correct/add to this.

--PPPS: I am appalled by my lack of remembering something I watched just last night!

Thanks Newbie. You got all of that I can remember and I watched it at lunchtime! This novela gets stupider and stupider. It doesn't hold a candle to Pasion de Gavilanes.

Yes, we left Flavio still unconscious in the hospital getting an MRI.

Tell me again why Irina married Flavio if she can't tell her mother about it?

Oh yes, you forgot Miranda's visit to Soledad. We recall that in an earlier episode Veronica showed Alma's picture to Miranda. She wants an explanation for Alma's resemblance to Veronica. She is horrified when Soledad tells her that Veronica is the sister of the Gallardos.

DUENOS:

Thanks, NovelaMaven, that does make sense, selling the cheap coke for cash, using the cash to buy the good stuff.

Thanks Jean. The Vero/Gallardo relationship reveal is kind of a big reveal to leave out!

Niecie and NovelaMaven,
I think that we're still talking about the mid-to-late 1970s. Prices, including for movie tickets, were a LOT lower then.

" Anas should suspect Irene."
Maybe she does. Maybe that's why she set Adan loose on Bob before Bob could implicate Irene.

Anas has never been shy about confronting people about what she thinks, but then again it is her mom & a novela. I'm just disappointed that Adan wasn't smarter, he is one of the good bad guys.

I guess we COULD look at it as motherly love afa Irene putting a hit on Erika.

DUEÑOS, Miércoles, Part 1

This was a powerful episode. Additions and corrections are welcome, as always.

We begin with Bob, walking out of the Sugar Lips matinee, Adán comes up to him on the street, pumps him full of lead. Bob collapses, dead on the ground. Adán walks away. We later see him come home, sort of walking in slow motion, he walks over to Lu, hugs her, no words are said, except by Delia, supper’s ready. Later, they visit Vero’s grave, born 1942, died 1977.

Anas had invited Irene to a fancy dinner while this was going on. She tells Irene what happened. Bob crossed the line. Irene is distraught, wants to go stop it, but Anas grabs her wrist, tells her Bob killed one of our own, this is what happens. There’s nothing you can do. It’s too late. At home later, Irene grabs a piece of sharp metal, tries to put out Modesta’s other eye, saying it’s all your fault!, but Anas stops her just in time.

Érika tells Conrado she’s leaving for California. He tries to stop her, but she’s not getting into it, won’t argue. Her mind is made up. After Vero was killed, nothing more is keeping her here. She zips up the second of her two little bags, asks Conrado if he wants to say farewell. He declines. She walks outside, and Adán is there. In full view of everyone, HE does give her a hug, while Conrado, Delia, Lu and Chad look on silently.

In Chile, Jorge and Gerardo give Tio Orlando his cash, and he’s happy Jorge will be the new head of CNI. Back at Gerardo’s mansion, Jenny has made a big boo boo, calling the cops (although she didn’t give the address, just that a murder had occurred). Vanessa tells her angrily, did you forget what we agreed on?!!! Vanessa calls Jorge, we’ve got a problem, and Jorge and Gerardo speed home. Jenny is hysterical, wants to leave, Vanessa says you’re not going anywhere. Jenny says you can’t keep me prisoner, grabs a kitchen knife, threatens Vanessa and Analía, then runs outside to escape. But the gate is locked, she turns, and Vanessa is pointing a pistol at her! Don’t kill me, she pleads, but Vanessa shaking with emotion, shoots. Jenny drops the ground, not dead. Two seconds later, Jorge’s car arrives. He gets out, calms down Vanessa, says everything will be fine, you did what you had to do. Vanessa calms down, we hear two or three more shots, and now Jenny IS dead.

DUEÑOS, Part 2

And all of a sudden, it’s TWO YEARS LATER, December 31, 1979. Alejo is in prison, now has slicked back hair, a big tattoo on his neck, star tattoos on his knuckles, he’s been toughened. But he’s getting released today! He walks out the gate, is met by Ferrara. Alejo asks him what happened to the six months, it’s been two years! Yeah, well them’s the breaks, bud, replies Ferrara, and don’t leave town. We have an agreement, you need to testify against Anas. Where are you gonna stay? Alejo declines to say (and doesn’t really know), walking off defiantly. He goes to a bar, trades his watch, his only possession, for a bottle of booze, gets drunk, goes to see Conrado.

Conrado is NOT happy to see him, but lets him in. Alejo had nowhere to go, but he’s got plans, the two of them can go to Chile, start fresh, get WAY richer than Conrado is now. Alejo reminds Conrado that Conrado’s wealth was all because of Alejo’s contacts. And how come Conrado totally abandoned him in jail? Conrado is calm but defiant. You made your own bed, sorry. Do you need some cash? Yeah, well, $2,000....or $3,000, whatever you can give me. Conrado gives him a wad of bills, he has to go, Anastasia is having a new year’s party at her private island. He leaves Alejo, and I think he’s a bit “chilly” as to that Chile thing.

Out in LA, three topless babes are frolicking on the beach, they open a treasure chest, and pull out some machine guns. That’s MY kind of movie! Érika is one of the girls, Sergio yells cut, and we see Érika is really at home with her career. Carmen reminds her not to give Sergio any ideas, and Érika tells her I know, I know.

Cut to Anas’s new home, I guess, it’s a private island, everybody’s arriving, we see Lu’s baby is now 2 years old, a cute little girl, Chad’s there, Adán, maybe Delia, Anas, Renato, Irene.....and Silvana, who surreptitiously picks up a phone and calls Ferrara! Yes, they’re all here. She also gives a wink to one of the outdoor fieldworkers, who must be an undercover cop! This guy sneaks out to the gate, and unlocks it. We see Ferrara, Saúl and Riquelme get into a helicopter, accompanied by 5 or 6 other cops, speeding over the water towards the island.

DUEÑOS, Part 3

Everything is so cozy there at the island, it’s a little family, but although Anas is raising the glass, toasting their success, not all is perfect. Conrado arrives, and there’s a bit of a tense greeting between him and Anas. She flashes back to when she threatened him, he made the worst mistake of his life in breaking up with her. Anas tells Irene that the best feeling in the world is revenge, and she’s got lots of revenge plans she’s working on. For one, Érika’s gonna be arrested, and spend years in jail. Irene likes this one. We suspect Anas has plans for both Conrado and maybe even Irene.

But these plans will have to wait, as here come the cops! In most shows, the cops are trying to follow all the rules, but we know that’s not’s Ferrara’s style. He has he men put on silencers, shoot down all the guards in cold blood. They then storm the mansion, forcing everyone to lie flat on the ground, don’t move! We see that Renato is not there, he’s upstairs with the little girl, whom he shooshes. A cop comes to the door, Renato, who also has a silencer, kills him. Other cops say we didn’t find any little girl, although Lu says where is she?

Even Silvana is quaking in fear, although it’s an act. Saúl goes upstairs to search for the little girl, and Renato corners him, hissing, what happened? I didn’t have time to call, it was really last minute. Well, says Renato, if you want to live, you’re gonna have to do EXACTLY as I say. Okay?!!

Ferrara takes Anastasia alone up to a beautiful large modern white marble bathroom. He presses his gun to the middle of her forehead, holds it there for a long time. She’s not intimidated. As he pulls away, he says quietly, I beat you. Haha. Good job, Salvador, she says, and gives him a gentle KISS. She then reminds him of how they met in Mexico, all those years ago, at a restaurant where she was meeting Nataniel Cardona. They were IN LOVE. Well, now we know why Ferrara’s been obsessed with Anastasia, don’t you think?!!!!

More fireworks tonight!

Duenos

Was I the only one totally confused by last night? I get the jump. I get that Anas will never let go of a grudge because her boyfriend dared to have a girlfriend already. But why the heck was Silvana there? Lu should have been gone too, having blamed her father and his business for her mother's death. Renato killing a cop will help? I just don't get it. Not sure if I care if anyone survives at this point.

Kelly

DUENOS:

Kelly, you make some good points. I think Silvana had been nice to Adan, and as far as Anas and crew know, Silvana has no idea they killed Elias. But really, they should suspect her.

I think Lu did forgive her father. They hugged when he came home after killing Bob (although she didn't know that), and they moved on as a family.

As for Renato, he hasn't just killed a cop. He also has Saul with him, and could possibly turn the tables on the whole arrest.

Dueños

This was such an exciting episode. I was really looking forward to your recap, Hombre, and as always, you rise to the occasion! Wonderful job! You absolutely capture the pace and craziness, that TWO YEARS LATER whiplash.

Here are a few additions --

--Sergio and Carmen talked about their planned trip to Miami for the New Year. Erika is thinking she doesn't want to go. So does Anastasia's influence extend to LA? Or does Erika have to be in Miami for the dirty tricks to happen?

--About the island... When Anas, Conrado and Adán went to Colombia on their fact-finding mission, PsychoStalkerLindaBerragan told Anas that the limiting factor in flying small planes from the jungles of Colombia to Miami was the need to refuel on the way. You could do it without refueling, but unreliably and at great danger to the pilot. She advised Anastasia to buy an island as a refueling stop. Apparently, Anas heeded Linda's advice, and now, two years later, the business is thriving.

Kelly, Silvana is there because she has latched onto the Cardona cartel (and in particular, Adan's family) as Ferrara's mole. I guess Vero's death was an opportunity for her to ingratiate herself with everyone when they were most vulnerable. Silvana is motivated by her desire to avenge her brother's death.

It's true that right after Vero was killed, Luciana told her father it was all his fault. But it was like when she told her mother "I hate you" -- just an outburst in a moment of despair. She never repeated her accusation (even though it was true!), and rather than being alienated from her father, she seems to have grown even closer to him, her only surviving parent.

Dueños

thanks so much Hombre!
you made a lot more sense out of this show than I did,
and it really helps.

hmm, Alejo wants to start dealing Alas del Mariposa in Chile,
but isn't Conrado kind of doing that already through Analia?

was that a porno "Charlie's Angels"(1976-81) film Sergio is making in LA? and it's New Year's eve and they are hopping a plane to Miami, Erika reluctant to go after 2 years, I too wonder if this isn't part of Anas plan to throw her in jail with Saul's help?

Saul showing up in the raid, well this doesn't look good, it had me wondering if they weren't raiding some other place.

Alejo looked drug free in jail, sorry to see him get back into it, he has things to do.

this show defied logic for me, Ferrara could have arrested any of these people at any time by just driving over to their house, so what changed, is it Alejo's deal, but wasn't that 2 years ago?

my take on the kiss is that Ferrara kissed her, (with handcuffed Anas playing it cool) and let's see, they met in Mexico, I'm guessing when she was dating Nat, and he got dumped when she married him, but there is probably more coming on this.

and where's Iggy?

ah, thanks so much NovelaMaven for the added info,

(the real narcos did use islands in the Bahamas (and Cuba) to transfer the coke from jets to smaller planes)

[with "El Señor de los Cielos" around the corner, I keep wondering if Linda Berragan wasn't the pilot in season 1 that was boinking Aureilio in mid flight that Monica Robles shot and killed]

Dueños

Thanks, Hombre. Superb recap. My favorite line: He leaves Alejo, and I think he’s a bit “chilly” as to that Chile thing.

Two years later and Adán is still in the business? I figured after Vero’s death, he would make good on his promise to get out, for Lu and his grandkid. But I guess the only thing that will stop him is jail or death. But surely Adán and Anas were too smart to completely trust Silvana?

Poor Alejo. He’s lost so much. That lime-green jumpsuit and those tatoos, time has passed him by. Of everybody, I feel the most for him.

Riquelme is now shooting in cold blood without a warning, sad.

The reveal that Anas and Ferrara had a thing way back when. Hmmm, I wish the writers had thrown in more hints along the way about this, because it hit me as a stunt for última semana. True, Ferrara had shown an obsession for Anas. But Anas never showed any feeling for him.

Both Sergio and Érika have improved in their craft, now that he’s emphasing action and eliminated all that wooden talk from the script.

and where's Iggy?

Deb and everybody, could that guy wearing the cap with his head down tending the lawn outside Anas’ estate be Iggy? It looked like him to me. His man part is kaput, but was he expected to be able to walk?

Dueños
Hombre, thanks for the great recap of what for me was a rather puzzling episode. I was especially puzzled by the Anas/Ferrara business. Yes, it's been clear for a while that he was in some way obsessed by her, but I didn't see much sign that the obsession was mutual. Also, as I saw it, Ferrara initiated the kiss; Anas seemed to do little more than accept it. As for how they met in Mexico, I thought she said that she was going to Nataniel Cardona's table, and Ferrera said that that's where he was going, too. I assumed he was going there to arrest or harass Cardona. I must have misunderstood, but....

Thanks, NovelaMaven, for explaining why Anas is suddenly on what seems to be her private island.

The episodes that take place in Chile continue to interest me much less than the rest of the novela. I think in the future I'll be wary of a Telemundo telenovela that has shared participation from some organization in Chile.

DUENOS:

I also didn't really understand the Anas-Ferrara thing, and thank those of you who've explained it a little. Yes, he kissed her. But wasn't she the one talking about love?

Thanks for the Tues recap Newbie you got pretty much everything, which makes your memory better than mine:)

Weds recap coming but it might take me a couple of hours to get it on here

Tierra de Reyes Wednesday 4/15 part 1

Open with some overlap - Arturo getting handsy w/Sidepiece trying to make her see that his entire life is at stake.
The henchies get tense and Sidepiece waves them off and Art is all wait who are these suspiciously familiar, suspicious looking guys?
Sidepiece says oh they're just my bodyguards, you must have seen them here before.
Art thinks they're a poor excuse for bodyguards if they let her get kidnapped, and she says they'll be more attentive from now on

Bea is working on a drawing of Sam and doesn't want to eat or rest till she gets it finished. Just then she starts coughing up blood all over her picture and Sole screams for the "help" who don't want to call her doctor and try to get Sole out of the room, so they can give Bea a shot. Bea wants Sole to stay so she does, but doesn't want her to call Sam and tell him, so she doesn't.

@the jail Andrea an Caye are totally unrepentant and shirty to everyone. Caye pays the fine and damages and Andrea says some snide things about Sam being only interested in $$
When they leave Nestor jokes about Sam falling in love w/Andrea like his bros fell for her sisters. Sam is not amused, in fact he is appalled. (I am amused however)
@the rancho Del Junco everyone is talking about how Andrea's arrest is all Sam's fault and not at all Andrea's fault for first trashing his offices, and then refusing to pay the damages.
Sophia comes in and says she is going to Europe w/the other two and since she didn't put Art's name on the birth certificate, she doesn't have to get his permission to take the baby out of the country.
Leo is smugly pleased and yet still obnoxious to the girls
Before Caye can feel too pleased w/herself for getting rid of her daughters Valverde calls and says time to pay up for me splitting up your daughter and Art. Meet me in a place of my choosing to discuss terms.

Flavio is in the hospital and his bros come to see how he's doing and chide him for getting married w/o even telling them (really who does this?)
Tragedy has been averted, he will be okay, and Sam thinks the real tragedy is marrying a Del Junco and Flavio thinks the real tragedy is that he missed seeing Andrea in jail

@ El Palenque Leo & Sidepiece congratulate themselves on their successes, and even though he's w/Caye now and she's chasing Art and they are in a public place where anyone could see them, they make out.

Wednesday 4/15 part 2
Caye meets w/ Valverde this time not poolside, and says she is willing to sell him her best horses in exchange for what he did for her. He wants more. He wants her to marry him. She says don't make me laugh, after seeing you in your bathing suit w/all those hos, no, no, a thousand times no. As if.
Valverde says - and I think he actually believes this - that is only because you haven't been to bed w/me yet. (meaning both the hos and her reluctance to marry him)
Then he hands her an old newspaper clipping about Leo going to jail. 'That's from Mexico where he defrauded and embezzeled from a casino and got caught, and only got off because he spent all his money on lawyers. I love you for you, not for your money like that loser. Think about it, I'm telling you this because I'm your friend. I care about you.'

Andrea is chewing out Nieves for being Irina's accomplice/madrina and Irina comes in and tells her to lay off. The whole thing was Irina's fault, and anyway she hates Flavio now so there's no problem.
Andrea sings Katy Perry's song Hot and Cold - not really, but she does say Irina changes direction like a weather vane, and about as often. Irina explains why she hates Flavio this time and Andrea is all see I told you so.

Sophia comes in and is sad because she won't see her horses for a long time (and not at all because she won't see one Arturo Gallardo for a long time. No, not at all)
Abuelo will miss the girls, while they are living abroad, especially Irina, but Nieves will teach him to video chat on the internet. He says they have a natural inter-heart-net between them and they are always connected. ISBS (why doesn't he just go w/Caye when she goes to visit every two weeks? He's in a wheelchair not under house arrest.)

Vero has made the chicken chilaquiles Sole taught her to make for Art's breakfast, and calls Sophia to intercede on his behalf.( 'cause she's a good sister, even if she doesn't know it yet)
When she calls the house she learns of the trip to Europe and tells Art who goes running to the airport to stop them.

Leo slept @ El Palenque on the couch and suffers a rough awakening by the henchies. Valverde walks in and threatens to make him pay for touching Caye. Leo says Caye is a free woman and she chose me. Valverde thinks she will choose him when he gets Leo out of his way - permanent like- and pokes him hard w/his cane. Leo says face me like a real man, instead of having your henchies do your dirty work, but Valverde decides when he will get his hands dirty and apparently its not now.
The henchies have beat Leo unconscious and toss a bucket of water on him to wake him up. Leo starts going on again about how if Valverde was a real man he would fight him himself (though w/the condition Leo's in now, I don't think it'd make much difference)
Leo says he won't leave Cay just 'cause of one little beating (oh darn, now he'll have to have him beat up multiple times)
Valverde says don't worry she'll break up w/you.
Leo says she luurrrves me and hates you so nyah nyah nyah

Flavio borrows a nurses phone to call the DJ ranch to talk to Irina and a testy Nieves tells him she's fled the country. Flavio doubtless does himself some damages trying to get up and go after her, till Dario and Vero come and stop him.

Sam and Bea are sweethearting when Bea starts coughing and passes out in Sam's arms. He freaks out and screams for help. The housekeeper tries to blame Sam saying she just started doing this and when I was taking care of her she was better. Sam says its not his fault and call the doc. The butler pretends to do so.
Sam kicks the "help" out of Bea's room as they're still trying to blame him for her worsening condition, but Sole can stay and call an ambulance.
Sam is still holding out hope for Bea, or tries to convince her he is - but she knows the end is near.

Wednesday 4/15 part 3

Arturo arrives @ the airport and starts screaming Sophia's name and she seems to hear something small and insignificant, but he's trapped behind a glass barrier and then being held back by airport security, and so she boards the plane anyway.
Now Art has to explain to airport security why he was running into a restricted area and screaming like a lunatic. They give him his ID back and tell him to hit the road before they change their mind.
Caye shows up and wants to know what he's doing there
as if she didn't know
Caye says if you really care about your kid stay out of his life, and Art replies what kind of a father would I be if I let him grow up with a hateful person like you.
She says she won't cause a scene there but he's out of their lives and then warns Pablo not to tell Sophia Art came to the airport.

Vero's mom is for some reason telling her housekeeper (the one who was keeping tabs on Vero for Sole) everything she's found out about Vero's parentage. She asks if the housekeeper already knew and the housekeeper says no, I just knew Sole was in love w/a married man

Flavio wakes up in the hospital calling for Irina. Vero and Dario try to calm him down so he won't hurt himself more, but he's Flavio so...
Art goes to the hospital to confess his failure to Flavio but swears he won't give up his son.

end.

Sneaky TS
How exciting it was to find your great three part recap.I enjoyed it very much and learned quite a few things that I didn't know. Thank you!

Caye must really be loaded to be able to visit Europe
every two weeks.

If Bea has to die, what better way than in the loving arms of Samuel? Her servants are disgusting. I hope they really get "theirs". AnonGringa

The New Year's Celebration Continues

Truth or Dare in the bathroom – O.M.G! Ferrara leads TWO LIVES!

Anastasia confesses to Ferrara that she did fall in love with him, but could never speak about it because Nataniel would have had Ferrara killed.

Ferraro says he spent half his life WORKING FOR NATANIEL! He made millions as his eyes inside the DEA. Cardona invented a life for him – a wife, even a newborn child. Ferrara has had a DOUBLE IDENTITY: incorruptible DEA agent and faithful Cardona accomplice. He has had two realities, but Anastasia was in both of them. They had an agreement, Ferrara and Anastasia, which they swore after a night together:

Pase lo que pase, y no importa cuanto duela, pero siempre nos tenemos que decir la verdad.
(Whatever may happen – and it doesn't matter how much it hurts – but we always have to tell each other the truth.)

Ferrara says Nate won everything. It wasn't a contest, Anas retorts.

We see in a flashback that Ferrara and Anas were lovers before she was married to Nate, that she and Ferrara had talked about going away together. But Anas chose to marry Nataniel.

Back in the swanky bathroom on the eve of the new year and the new decade, she admits that she never stopped loving Ferrara. She acted as she did to protect him.

Suddenly Ferrara switches on his DEA agent persona as he prepares to lead Anastasia to the helicopter. She points out that with Nataniel's death, there is no reason they can't be together. Does he want the applause of his bosses? Or does he want Anastasia – forever?

Charades in the living room

Saúl, waving his gun in the air and holding on to his toothpick, brings Luciana and the baby to join the others. He orders everyone on their feet, and then the cops lead their prisoners outside the house. Irene never stops kvetching. Silvana looks uncertain. We get a glimpse of Renato just around the corner of the house.

Suddenly Renato fires into the air. Riquelme quickly fires back in his direction. There is general confusion. Conrado starts firing a weapon – did he take it from one of the agents? He hits a uniform, then another! Saúl is coolly firing on his comrades. He hits Riquelme in the back, but doesn't kill him. The Cardona group is heading for safety. Irene holds back, yelling for Anastasia. This gives Riquelme time to get off a shot. We see Irene fall. "Help me," she whimpers. "I don't want to die."

Ferrara still has Anastasia in handcuffs. He hustles her along. Is he arresting her or helping her get away?

Other men in military uniforms converge on the scene where the agents and police officers lie dead and dying. Saúl stands over the gravely wounded Riquelme, who finds the breath to accuse him of shooting him: "It was you, wasn't it?"

Dueños del paraíso, jueves, parte 2

Back in Miami

La familia Quezada ushers in the new decade

Leandro gives an obnoxious, rambling speech to those unfortunate enough to be at his table: Gina, never more radiant (double homicide agrees with her); Paola, seemingly as clueless as ever; baleful, unmanned Iggy; and Jota, who leaves the table when his father kisses Gina on the lips.

Sugar Lips is Home!

So Erika did let herself get talked into going to Miami. As she enters her house, she hears noises. She pulls out a gun (EVERYONE is packing by now!) and startles Esparza, who is just hanging around in his skivies. When he tells Erika he just got out of jail today, she invites him to come to a party with her (though she'll have to get him some clothes.)

The Masters of Erotic Cinema Party

Esparza tells Erika he needs to go to Chile to track down Analía and his sons. Isn't he supposed to testify at a trial in Miami? she asks. Eso no se sabe todavía, he says noncomittally. When Erika goes off to toast with her colleagues, Esparza makes a new friend – Vaitiare. He feeds her a New Year's grape and invites her to bed. She's easy.

Happy New Year!

Año nuevo, vida nueva

Jota tells Gina he can't stand it when Leandro touches her. It's all over between them. She smiles and starts to kiss him.

Leandro, Paola and Iggy squabble at the breakfast table. Iggy leaves them, making his painful way on crutches down the hall. He opens a door and glares at Jota and Gina, both naked under the covers. Feliz año, he says bitterly. Gina begs him not to say anything. She offers to pay him... Perra, he mutters, repeating her words with disdain. "How much do you want?"

Delia gets busted
Just back from a holiday visit to Hermosillo, Delia is delighted to get a call from Adán. The call is interrupted by someone pounding on the door. The police! Adán hears it all, tells Renato, and the Cardona group, minus Anastasia, is on the move.

Esparza gets lucky
He and Vaitiare continue their party in the pool.

But Conrado's luck may be running out
The Cardona gang is in one of their warehouses. Renato is angry that Conrado allowed Esparza to use his house. Esparza and Analía are traitors – and Conrado knows what happens to traitors in this business. "So are you going to kill me?" says Conrado, all bluster and bravado. "Yes," says Renato simply, "I'm going to kill you." But before he can do so, police sirens sound. Are they surrounded? Chad tells the others to hide below. He, Lu, Silvana and the baby will stay upstairs.

Miami's Finest
While Delia sweats it out in the interrogation room, the boss, Montalbán, asks Saúl what happened on the island. The boss would ask Ferrara, but he can't – he hasn't returned with the others. All Saúl knows is that Ferrara was in a room with Anas and he said he'd take care of her. Saúl asks about Riquelme. "He's in the hospital," Montalbán says tersely. He orders Saúl to put men around the condos of the Cardona associates.

Riquelme Rises
Riquelme startles awake in his hospital bed and checks out his injuries, which turn out to be less grave than they looked. He unhooks his IV, dresses quickly, grabs his badge and slips out of the room. A guy is sitting in the hallway hiding a gun behind a copy of Glamour magazine. The gunman jumps up and starts shooting. Riquelme dives for cover, but a nurse is hit. Riquelme, despite his wounds, overpowers the hitman.

Dueños del paraíso, jueves, parte 3

More New Year's Fireworks

The police rush into the warehouse. Chad tells them not to shoot – there's a baby!

Renato and the others are downstairs. The plan is to give Chad, Lu and the baby, and Silvana enough time to get out and then to blow up the building (with the cops inside?)

A Turbulent Flight

Analía and Vanessa (who is now wearing a black wig over her short blond hair) pull up to Conrado's place in a taxi. They have a delivery (a maletín) for him. Then Analía spots Saúl and the cops and yells at the cabbie to pull out. But it's too late. The police stop the cab, and Analía and Vanessa are ordered down on the ground.

Boom!

Renato detonates the explosives. We see flames in another part of the building. Conrado shoots the single officer on his feet. Then Conrado and Adán say their goodbyes. Conrado is going to try to get back to Chile. Renato interrupts their manly hug to hustle them out of the burning building.

It was Benavides!
Riquelme shuffles into Montalbán's office and tells him that Saúl was the one who shot him in the back. He was Anastasia's informant all along.

Dirty Pool

The cops pick up Vaitiare and Esparza and haul them away, still soaking wet and covered only in towels. On the way to the car, Esparza is startled to see Analía and Vanessa, still on the ground and also under arrest. Saúl lurks in the background.

ACAPULCO, MÉXICO, 1 de enero, 1980

Anastasia wakes up in a hotel, the same one where she and Ferrara spent their first night together. Ferrara sedated her the night before "so you could relax." They should be safe there, at least for now. But can Ferrara trust Anastasia?

Dueños del paraíso, jueves, parte 4

I wouldn't call it fornication

Iggy announces that he caught Gina and Jota in the act. Jota keeps eating his breakfast. He says Iggy is only half right – he and Gina were together, but they weren't "fornicating." They've been in a relationship for two years. That doesn't seem to make Leandro feel any better. He wants to have a little private chat with Jota. Paola, for her part, rages at Gina and orders her out of the house (though, of course, no one ever listens to Paola).

Comings and Goings at the Miami PD

Esparza proclaims his innocence. Montalbán wonders how long that will be the case, but tells him he is free to go. His sister and his wife are being interrogated, he tells him. He can wait for them, if he wants.

When Saúl enters, Riquelme confronts him, accusing him of shooting him in the back. Plenty of people saw him, but they're all dead, thanks to Saúl. Saúl denies everything, saying he did what he could to cover Riquelme.

Take all my money out of the safe and bring it to me, okay?

When Esparza returns to Conrado's house, he gets a call from Conrado. Esparza tells him that "they took it all." The two arrange to meet the following day. The plan is to escape to Mexico and then fly to Chile from there. "And don't forget to bring me everything I asked you for," Conrado says. "I can't go back to the house." We see Esparza opening Conrado's safe and removing bundle after bundle of dollars.

Meanwhile, Conrado studies his passport.

A Missed Window of Opportunity

Leandro is going to teach his son a lesson. He has dragged him to a remote site with just the privacy needed for torture. JC continues to speak his truth: He met Gina and he fell in love with her. Leandro rants for a while and then pulls out a gun, aiming it at JC's head. "I know that killing a son goes against human nature, but I'm not doing it over a woman... I'm doing it because you're a rat, and you betrayed me again... I should have killed you when you were born." But while Leandro has been running his mouth, armed men have entered the compound. Now they start firing, and we see Leandro's men fall one by one. Then Jota's mother joins the party, firing an automatic weapon with apparent expertise. Leandro has been defending himself, but when he stops to reload, Jota grabs a dead man's gun and points it at his father.

Double-cross?

Anastasia confides to Salvador Ferrara that she is very afraid. He doesn't believe her – she's never afraid of anything. He urges her to get into the taxi that is waiting for them. But just as she does so, two armed men come out of nowhere, beating and overpowering Ferrara and grabbing Anastasia. "Did Renato send you?" she asks them quietly, slightly out of breath. One nods, almost imperceptibly. She gets in the taxi between the two men, leaving Ferraro writhing on the ground.

WoW!
(this could have been the gran final)

and what a treat that NovelaMaven recapped this one !!!

it looked like the Cardona cartel all went down in one quick swoop,
but wait, by the end of the show, are they back in business?

that Anas is no dummy, yeah, yeah, maybe she did love Ferrara once,
and maybe one of her dead babies was his,

and that Renato is so far ahead of this game,
a major goof not accounting for him in the raid

as Conrado sees the butt of a gun behind the baby Lu is holding,
a present from Renato?

and Irene, does anyone care?

J's new years resolution to drop Gina lasted what, two minutes.

Riquelme (Ariel Texido) has come a long way from his gay days on "Marido en alquiler",
I'm impressed, this is one cool cop, go for it Silvana!

Saul is working both sides, and still walking around.

Iggy is determined to be a bad guy, even if it kills him.

"Dirty Pool" ha!, well, "it's been two years", was that Alejo's pick up line.

for some reason I really like Alejo, when he is not strung out, so the cops let him go in his swim trunks and bare feet, not like he has money for a cab, but not unusual for Miami.

the money in the safe made Conrado's gift chump change, I'm sure Alejo has figured out Anas has walked away, and we heard Renato figures him to be a traitor, hmm, and did he say it was HIS connections that made Conrado wealthy, can he do the Chile thing, he hates Gerardo, the CNI is nothing to ignore, but I think he wants his family, Analia included.

but wait, it's the Quezada cartel that goes down, as automatic weapon Mama walks on the scene, say isn't this the warehouse Renato blew up, tires flying, it was black for a while, but I guess buildings heal like people in novelas.

was that a knife the guy pulled on Ferrara?

Duenos
I find all this very weird. It seems the writers didn't know how to end it & went into a writing frenzy. Ferrara once pushed Anas' face into an interrogation room table, doesn't sound much like love to me.

Thankfully NovelaMaven's recap was written with expertise, humor & thoroughness.

My favs that I want to survive, Renato, Alejo, Adan, Erika, Lu & family, JC, Analia, Paola.

I'm thinking Conrado gets killed & Alejo has money for a new start.

DUENOS:

Amazing recap, NovelaMaven, of an action packed show! Yes, lots of things stretch our credibility. But then again, it's a telenovela!

Deb, you covered just about everything I was going to add (gun behind the baby, Ferrara stabbed, Alejo's not having sex for two years as the pick-up line, etc.)

We don't know if Irene is alive. She was shot in about the same place as Riquelme, so she should be able to get up and punch out a few people.

Could Saul possibly convince Montalban and Riquelme that Ferrara was the snitch? Probably not, but now we find out Ferrara WAS working for the Cardona clan for years!

Variopinta, I like those characters, too, but I think the writers are much more interested in shocking us than in making us happy. I noticed you didn't mention Anas. If there's gonna be a part 2, then.....

Dueños

NovelaMaven, simply a sensational recap. My favorites:

Truth or Dare in the bathroom

Charades in the living room

Leandro gives an obnoxious, rambling speech to those unfortunate enough to be at his table

I totally bought that that porn actress would sleep with Alejo on the spot. There is something about him. He’s got heart, so I’m wondering if he will really stiff Conrado.

Érika was sweet to invite Alejo to the party. Seems like she hasn’t been involved with anyone in these two years.

Riquelme had a magic shirt just like Silvana’s when she got shot. No bloodstain on it at all.

So Glamour magazine paid for product placement? First JC, now the hospital hitman with a copy.

So Ferrara has been dirty all along. It does explain why Saúl could run circles around him gathering evidence against the Cardonas. All along, I thought Anas had put up with that pig Cardona and then shiftless Conrado because she had never been in love before. Turns out, Ferraro worshipped her.

When Iggy was making like a jardinero on Anas’ lawn, he didn’t have crutches. Back at LQ’s he’s in crutches again.

Can’t help it. I did love Paola and JC’s momma stride in wearing a lovely dress blasting away with her AK47. She could’ve been the momma in Érika’s bikini babes with guns movie.

and Irene, does anyone care?

Deb, well said.

Variopinta, I too like your list of survivors.

Hombre, I have no idea what will happen, but in the start of the story Anas was narrating from retrospect. So maybe that means she'll be alive in the end. Of course, she couldn've been narrating from the afterlife.

Dueños
Thanks so much, NovelaMaven, for a wonderful recap. I must say, I remain unconvinced by the supposed passion between Anas and Ferrara. Those same two actors did a fantastic job of conveying barely suppressed passion for each other in La Reina del Sur, but here both simply seem wooden. Also, she doesn't seem at all concerned about Ferrara when the two guys abduct her as she's getting into a taxi. All she wants to know is whether Renato sent them. Moreover, as Variopinta observed, Ferrara once pushed Anas' face into a table as he was interrogating her, and that hardly seems consistent with his supposed love for her.

I'm continually amazed by how well the hospitals in telenovelas heal patients. So many of them are cured so quickly that they pull out the IVs, ignore the pain their wounds should cause, and leave the hospital soon after they're admitted. Riquelme is today's case in point.

And perhaps it's not just people who are miraculously cured. As deb noted, "I guess buildings heal like people in novelas."

DUENOS:

Niecie, I don't think that jardinero was Iggy. That guy looked a little like Iggy, but I don't think he had a beard. Also, Iggy can't walk, so it was a different guy, a police informant. And we have no indications that the police are working with Leandro.

But with this show, ANYTHING is possible.

Dueños

Hombre, thanks for clearing that up. With all the action in the last two days, I’m already too confused as it is.

I remain unconvinced by the supposed passion between Anas and Ferrara.

Juanita, ITA. Kate is a very fine actress. But it was tough to watch Anas and Ferrara together in the hotel room because it just wasn’t working for me. Now when Anas went with her rescuers without as much as a glance back at Ferrara, that worked for me. I’m thinking her passion for him died long ago, but she was just stringing him along till she could get free.

TIERRA

I am missing so much action! I love this show in spite of its stupidity. Hoping I'll get to catch up this weekend.

So, Sofia is heading off to live elsewhere in some unfamiliar place a long flight away with a brand new baby? Gosh, that sounds fun. Why does she put up with her mother's crap? Why didn't she just get her own apartment somewhere?

For that matter, why did Irina go back to her smother's house after her wedding? Why didn't she go home with Flavio? Why haven't the boys told everyone yet that Vero is their sister since it would solve so many mysteries and make a few people less mad at them?

Sad about Bea, but if she's going to die soon, it's nice that she got her lovely brief marriage to Sam first...and with him totally into it, too, not just there for pity or money. I still think his inevitable relationship with Andrea is going to seem like a major step down.

Avenida B
Perdoneme, I haven't seen anything for Ave. B since Jean's Tue recap. Are we dropping it? I can't do any recaps until the craziness on Quiero Amarte is over, if recappers are what is lacking.

I'm ok watching it on my own, but it would be great to have some discussion going.

After Wed I'm liking Jorgito a whole lot more (he went to see Mama Lu and still loves his father). After Thu I'm liking Nina a whole lot more (she helped her sister out of a really bad situation and went to see Mama Lu when she got to Rio).

I'm curious, though, why didn't Mama Lucinda want to tell Nina that Batata had just been there and she knows exactly where he is.

Interesting that Nina lied to Mama Lu about staying in a hotel and only spending her vacation in Rio and not that she had paid for a place for six months in advance and had every intention of staying until her vengeance was finito.

Dueños

Thanks for the nice words, guys, and for filling in the (important) pieces I left out.

I agree that the lack of spark between Anastasia and Ferrara was intentional and that she was just playing him, doing what she had to do to escape from an impossible situation.

I made the mistake of watching the previews, so I know for a fact that the Fat Lady Has Not Sung. Let's see what happens tonight!

Dueños
Hombre, I thought long & hard over Anas surviving (ok maybe 2 min) but I don't like her anymore. Maybe tonight will get me back.

The ones I hate most, Leandro, Irene, Gerado, Jorge, Vanessa,by all means, Iggy!!!

Thurs 4/16
part 1
yucky bloody Leo beating scene that I'm going to gloss over. Valverde asks him how he'd like to die - stuff
Leo is later found on the floor of El P by Cande and the dancing girls

Cayetana heads over to Vero's mom's place to vent ( I do know her name but I have a friend w/the same name and I just can't call this hateful character by that name)
Caye says she's concerned about Leo, he didn't come home last night and she hasn't seen or heard from him all day. Her friend reacts normally asking why do you care he's not even your yerno =son in law anymore. Caye has no answer. (too chicken to tell her)
Vero's mom tells Caye that Vero is living w/the boys now and she is their sister - but she doesn't know it yet- but blood calls to blood - the famous tn llamada de sangre and yes ISBIS
Caye is appalled and says you've got to get her out of there; the longer she lives with them the more influence they will have on her and if you're not careful when she finds out Sole - a servant- is her bio mom she won't even mind.
They both agree this would be terrible and Vero must never find out either that the boys are her bros or that Sole is her bio mom or that Caye and her friend extorted her to give up her baby.

The General's bp is up 'cause everyone is leaving him and its causing concern. Pablo comes in and tells him about Art @ the airport and this seems to make him feel better about Art @ least

Sam tries to get Bea to eat- she says where she is going she won't feel hungry and she wants to spend the time she has left talking w/Sam.
Bea wants Sam to fall in love again when she's gone - with a woman who has loved him all along and maybe doesn't even know it. Sam asks like who? and Bea has no answer

Pati (remember her? she's famous now) calls El P and asks about Sam, but when Matamoros comes in she pretends to be talking to somebody else, about something else (because she is neither crazy nor stupid and Matamoros is already jealous)
Matamoros has signed Pati up to tour 50 cities in Mexico and she is appalled and agotada=exhausted she says she needs a break and Matamoros says what about him - he has been tirelessly promoting her and he is tired too.
Eventually Matamoros wins Pati over w/kisses and cuddles

Candela takes Leo home to the mixed joy and consternation of The General - 'face of an angel and a body that won't quit, but she comes in w/Leo'
Caye comes home to find Cande putting Leo to bed and jumps to the logical conclusion given he smells like booze and Candela's shirt is missing its bottom half. She kicks Candela out and Leo is all 'its not what you think' and she brings out the clipping

Exasperating scene @ the hospital between Vero, Flavio and Dario where everything could be cleared up w/one sentence "I had a DNA test done because Vero looks so much like Alma and it turns out she's my sister too" Instead mucho waffling and angst because Irina, and everybody else, won't understand their relationship (arrrggghhh)

Thurs
part 2
Bea has fallen asleep and Sam thought bubbles that he doesn't know what he'll do without her. Art and Sole come in and offer comfort and Sam finally tells Art Bea is dying\

Candela coming down the stairs is naively impressed at the luxurious Rancho Del Junco and when she explains why she was with Leo - he's a friend of her boss and she's a nice person- she and The General really hit it off

Upstairs Leo tells Caye Valverde had him beaten and she is inexplicably surprised since she already knows Valverde is a lowlife
Leo also says the article and everything Valverde told her is a lie, but Caye's faith in him is shaken and things won't be the same between them anymore. When she leaves the room Leo swears bloody revenge on Valverde.

Sidepiece and her dad are having a few drinks together and she remarks that he is sick- what he had done to Leo is really sick - and she sometimes thinks her mental health issues come from him.
He bristles and says "I'm an excentric, not crazy, there's a difference" (yeah crazy people never think they are crazy) also having Leo beaten wasn't that big a deal (lol)

In a Paris apt w/a view of the Eiffel Tower the girls settle in - or not- Sophia calls home to let her mom know they arrived safely. Nieves answers the phone and stage whispers that there is something important she has to tell Sophia but she takes so long getting to the point that Caye comes down the stairs and hears her and threatens to fire her the next time.

Vero's mom alone flashes back to Caye's warnings that Vero might be happy w/Sole and her bros and swears Eso Jamas = that will Never happen (yeah 'cause heaven forbid your daughter should be happy) (also, arrgh)
Later her housekeeper finds her unconscious on the floor - reason unknown and screams for Dario who sends her for some pills.

Art is going to ask Sole to contact the girls, as soon as Vero gets their contact info, to try to persuade them to come back. Vero heading to the DJ ranch drives her sports car up the drive and almost hits Pablo who has trotted in front of her - on a horse- drawing her ire. He's mad too about her towel clad embrace w/Flavio but won't get down and talk about it with - in his words a spoiled little girl like her.
Art goes looking for Sole in her room and knocks over a stack of books, which reveals photos of Vero and he and his bros as little boys.
When Sole comes in he asks her why she has them.

Bea dies in Sam's arms
Its sad

AnonGringa - the "help" will get theirs, that's one of the nice things we can count on in tns - at least most of them- Justice at the end

Julia ITA with everything you said
I find it helps with this show to think of it like a Merchant Ivory drama - pretend its set in a past era where unmarried girls didn't live on their own (unless they move to Paris) and parents practically owned their children, a magical tn world where these things make sense :)

Thanks for the recap, Sneaky 2. I will try and do one for Friday. I haven't had much time this week.

The reason that Miranda was unconscious on the floor is that she took a lot of sleeping pills to try and guilt Verónica into coming back to her. It would be nice if she miscalculated and dies but I'm sure we won't be that lucky.

Avenida Brasil Wed to Fri – Part 1

I'll do a quickie on this to keep us going. Fortunately, we are coming to the point when Mads started to do her recaps last year when AB was shown in the daytime. These can be reused.

Nina takes the fall when she and Begonia are stopped while driving and Begonia is carrying drugs. Nina's ex-boyfriend, gets her out of jail. Begonia agrees to go to rehab.

Nina/Rita goes to Rio. She rents an apartment in Copacabana for 6 months and buys a motorcycle. She goes to see Mama Lucinda and they have a tender reunion. Nina has stayed in touch with ML all these years. However, they both lie to each other. ML tells Nina that she doesn't know where Batata is and Rita says that she is just in town for a week or so. Nilo is spying around and sees the reunion. He is suspicious and gets one of his children to find out who the visitor is. The kid finds out that the visitor is named Rita. Uh oh.

I guess that Noemia didn't live in Rio proper and this made life slightly less complicated for Carlos Eduardo. However, she surprises him by buying an apartment in Rio on the beach.

Alexia has not told Paloma, her daughter, that CE is her father. She calls him uncle.

Back in Divino, we meet Suellen, who works in Diogenes' clothing store. She always comes late to work with a doctor's note. Diogenes is amazed at the number of diseases she has had.

The "Concurso de Planchitas," Beauty Contest of Straightened Hair," is an annual event at the Divino Football Club. Planning it brings Tifón and Monalisa together. Tifón wants to be friends but ML isn't having any. Doña Muricy doesn't want Leleco around the contestants and Max tries to do new things with the contest and is basically ignored.

Avenida Brasil Wed to Fri – Part 2

Tessalia shows up for the contest from Macacao (not sure of the spelling) but clearly a place in the middle of nowhere. She has heard about the contest. Ivanka straightens her beautiful curly hair for the contest.

At the contest, Suellen sabotages one of Tessalia's shoes causing her to fall down on the runway. Leleco jumps onto the runway to help her much to Muricy's fury. Ivanka figures out what Suellen did and She is disqualified from the contest, which Tessalia wins.

A violent ex of Tessalia's comes looking for her and Leleco fights him while Silas knocks him out. Tessalia is overcome with Leleco's heroism.

When Suellen shows up late for work yet again, Diogenes fires her. She goes with him to his office to get her last paycheck, seduces Diogenes and records their lovemaking on her phone. Just on the basis of the sex, Diogenes agrees to keep her on. The other employees at the store can’t understand it.

Nina delivers a real stove to Mama Lucinda. While Nina is cooking, ML rummages in her purse and finds the receipt for the apartment rental. Nilo tells ML that he knows that Rita is back in Rio. ML goes to Nina’s apartment and confronts her. Nina denies that she has come to Rio to take vengeance on Carmina. She claims that she has always been secretive about her business and she is in Rio to take some time off after the death of her step-father.

Tifón confronts Jorgito about his behavior at the anniversary party. He accepts that Jorgito needs to stay away from Carmina and gives him the keys of an apartment he owns in the Zona Sur. Jorgito promises to focus on his football training and be nice to Carmina. Later, he forces himself to call Carmina, Mama, and hug her but he can't put any effort into it and Carmina cries on Tifón's shoulder about how her son hates her.

Débora, Verónica and CE’s daughter is a gymnast in a Cirque de Soleil type show.

Nina has been friends with Ivana over the internet. They meet in person and Nina maneuvers Ivana into offering her a job as a cook at Tifón’s house. Carmina agrees to give Nina a trial. We see the first of the many meals at Tifón’s house where everybody is talking and arguing at once – so different from most of the stiff and unnatural meals on telenovelas.

Nina arrives at Tifón’s house and is assaulted by memories/flashbacks of her past with Carmina and her father. She makes a meal and everyone is bowled over, except Carmina, who clearly doesn’t want praise to go to anyone but her. She says that she is suspicious of Nina and her instinct in never wrong.

Nina befriends Agata whom she clearly thinks is Genesio’s daughter.

Débora and Jorgito are sleeping together when Jorgito gets up and start sleepwalking. He thinks he is collecting stuff in the tiradero. Débora wakes him up and tries to comfort him.

please don't stop recapping! I really like this show, and I rely on this website to fully understand what's going on. My Spanish isn't all that great yet :(
I wish I could help with recapping, but I'd probably confuse rather than explain!
I'm surprising myself by loving Tifon, what a sweet fool he is! Carmen is a truly bad baddie. Irredeemable. Nina is really great.

Muchas gracias, Jean, for your 3-day recap. I found it very helpful.
Wee Rita, I too am hoping there will be more recaps of this novela. However, as Jean mentioned, there were recaps when it was shown last year during the afternoon. In last week's CarayCaray page for Telemundo, NovelaMaven offered some useful info and a link to the start of the earlier recaps. The current showing is just about at the point where those recaps begin, and I'm finding them useful.

It turns out Beatrice isn’t dead yet and she hangs on long enough to say goodbye to Arturo and Flavio, Soledad and the evil servants. Samuels gets to cry some more but finally she’s gone. The news spreads like wildfire through the town with most of the mal-intentioned suggesting that the Gallardos murdered Beatrice for her money. The evil servant couple change the bottles of Beatrice’s medicine and take something out of her safe. They plan to “denounce” Samuel during the funeral.

Miranda’s fake suicide attempt has the desired effect. Verónica agrees to return home.

Arturo finds a photo of him and his brothers as children in Soledad’s room and asks her where she got it. She replies with a not-very-convincing story of finding the photo at the Del Junco house after the brothers were fired.

Cayetana is still very cold to Leonardo. Instead of firing someone she believes to have been convicted of fraud as manager of the ranch, she says that she has to see the accounts and co-sign all the checks.

Valverde calls Leo but he says that he won’t leave Caye. Mutual threats of retribution are exchanged. Candelita comes to see Leo again much to Caye’s annoyance and the General’s pleasure.

Irina and Sofía are moping in Paris missing their love interests but Andrea goes wild shopping and gets drunk in a bar.

Isabel takes her ugly cousin to the Palenque Night.

Pablo and Verónica have a big fight about her supposed relationship with Flavio.

That was about it, I think.

I'm sorry to ask a silly question, but how do we follow the old threads about AB from back when it was shown in the daytime? I read (and loved!) the link Juanita gave me, but not sure how to proceed from there as the episodes go by..?

DUEÑOS, Viernes

Leandro's wife (don't know her name) and Jota have guns pointed at Leandro, the tables are now turned. Echoing his father's statement from earlier, Jota points his gun at Leandro's head, asks, is it unnatural to kill your own father? But he doesn't. As Paola arrives, Jota's mother recites how she was in prison for five years, and Leandro even sent people to murder her. But she survived. How? Money talks. In fact, that was Leandro's biggest crime, according to her. He took all of her family money, used it to build up his drug business, then threw her in the trash. Leandro starts in again on his belief that Jota's mother was actually doing more than dancing with Jota, but nobody's buying it. Paola is crying, shocked at her father. There's even a great big folder of proof that's brought out. Jota's Mom says to Leandro, you have one day to leave town. If you don't, this folder goes to the cops, and you'll spend the rest of your life in jail! Gina also walks into the scene, but Jota's sort of over her, Paola sure doesn't like her, and she's basically kicked out. Not sure where she goes. Jota and his Mom leave to let Leandro stew in his decision.

Which he doesn't even consider for one second. The next thing we know, Iggy hobbles in, and Leandro says I've got a present for you. A hooded woman is brought in, and it's Anastasia! Apparently those weren't Renato's men in Mexico. Leandro and Anas give each other the usual insults, and Anas is put in a jail cell they just happen to have in Leandro's warehouse. Uh oh.

Irene wakes up in her hospital bed, looking really bad with no makeup. Since she was only shot in the shoulder, she's about to attempt to leave. A nurse tells her no, Señora. Then a cop comes in, and puts her under arrest for drug trafficking. Yes! (although is she really even guilty of that?)

Conrado and Alejo arrive in Santiago, Chile. It brings back old memories. Unfortunately, they see some tough guy is watching them intently.

Érika walks barefoot through her old house, which has been trashed, either ransacked by the cops, or just in a state of mess, Conrado and Alejo having been its latest occupants. She hears a noise, turns, and it's Adán, who had been watching the houses and cops, waiting for things to die down. She hugs him, and they begin a long, heartfelt conversation. LA wasn't so great, she confides. They realize that after all this time, they're finally together. They can't deny their attraction. They each say I love you to the other. But Adán's made up his mind, he's going to turn himself in. Érika is sad, do you have to? Well, he replies, it's the only way out. I can't keep running forever. Okay, she says, if that's the case, then we'd better make this our farewell. They look in each others' eyes, their lips move slowly together, and they kiss with the passion of many, many years of denial. Their love is very deep, one thing leads to another, the clothes slip away, and they consummate their love.

Next door, the family is gathered, Chad, Lu, Delia...and Silvana. Adán had said he wanted to meet them there. He eventually enters, purposefully, and tells them all.....I've decided to turn myself in. No, cries Lu. No, cries Delia. Nothing from Silvana. But before they can finish the debate, BANG, the cops knock down the door, and arrest him anyway!

DUEÑOS, Part 2

Leandro tells Iggy you've waited all these years, let's finally take care of the bitch. They douse Anastasia with gasoline, Leandro tosses his lighter onto the gasoline slick, which flashes over to the cell, and the flames start burning. Leandro tells Iggy the business will now be yours. They walk away.

It's the next day. Riquelme is interrogating Benavides. Just tell me the truth, man. He turns on a little reel to reel tape recorder. You killed Rita Corona, right? Well, did you? Saúl is silent. Riquelme insists, admit it, man! The phone rings, and he turns off the tape recorder. He rushes out to somewhere just outside the Quezada warehouse, I think, and there's a charred skeleton on the ground. That's all that's left of her, says Montalban. Everyone's in shock, Anas is DEAD! Even Ferrara shows up, holding his injured ribs, walking gingerly.

And thus ends our tale of a woman whose hard life led her to great heights, and great depths.

Or IS it? I don't think so! If you ask me, Anas is alive! Why do I think that? First of all, because this is a telenovela! Need I say more? Also, which character did we not see in the entire episode? You got it. Renato!!!! (Modesta, too).

Monday's the Gran Final, and I think we should do multiple recaps, although we don't have to. I'm just going to recap the action (if there is any), and let others do the conversations. But really we can just write whatever we want. That's what the writers of this show have been doing lately!

AVENIDA B.

Jean--Thank you so much for packing all the action into a three-day word fest. I'd much rather have fresh recaps, but, like Wee Rita, I don't mind reading Mads recaps. I checked Juanita's link (thank you, Juanita), so we can start reading the Telemundo Postings beginning around January 14, 2014.

It does seem rather soon to be giving it a second run, maybe they will be hoping for a wider audience by running it in prime time.

Thanks again, Jean.

Dueños

Thanks, Hombre. Fantastic recap. My favorite: Érika walks barefoot through her old house, which has been trashed, either ransacked by the cops, or just in a state of mess, Conrado and Alejo having been its latest occupants. - lol

I hate seeing LQ and Iggy get the best of Anas, so I too am betting she got out of there somehow. Either way, Anas was tough, did not beg and plead, and still had insults at the ready for both men. Yet you could see her fear at the end. A fine anti-heroine.

So they’re charging Irene with drugs. Really? Theoretically, she’s just guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time (unless you count the two manslaughters and the murder for hire). During the shootout, she did not brandish a gun and the only thing she was doing was running away. Yet, Riquelme shot her in the back.

Let’s see, Adán, had quite a run with the women: Vero, the Colombiana, Érika, and Silvana. Nice that he and Érika finally had their time together. Too bad it was in the mess the cops left behind.

How will Adán fair in prison? Maybe he should’ve had a chat with Alejo before he turned himself in.

DUEÑOS

Thanks for yet another wonderful and breathless telling, Hombre. And I was thinking the same thing about Anastasia – no way is the diva going out quietly and invisibly. Besides, when did Telemundo ever balk at showing us the ghastly, grisly details?

I was so impressed by the loving detail in your description of Adan's and Erika's encounter. :)

A few bits to add:

Anas spits Iggy's secret in Leandro's face, telling him that Iggy's manhood is kaput and Leandro will never be a grandfather.

I don't think Jota has written off Gina, although he did dismiss her so he, mama and Paola could talk. (Clearly, though, the ladies despise Gina.)

When Silvana groused about being held by the police, Riquelme kind of raised his eyebrows. "You sound like a criminal, Silvana."

Then later, at the Romero house, Silvana took Adan aside. "What's going to happen to us?" she asked. I had the impression that Silvana had fallen in love with Adan (the most unlikely chick magnet on TV, digo yo).

Dueños
Super Hombre, gracias

I agree, Anas is not dead, Renato to the rescue!
I also think they are working up to a possible sequel.

Anyone know how the ratings are?

Dueños

wow, these final shows are captivating!
and they finally announced the gran final with one show to go,
although the tv schedule calls it the "season" finale.

and what a wonderful recap Hombre,
you have such a natural way of retelling these stories.

ahha, I don't think they ever mentioned Jota's mom's name but I tracked it down in the cast list, Norma, (Isabella Santodomingo). and I guess Leandro took her family's land as well to use in his drug business.

odd that the police weren't interested in Erika.

did Adan say that he never acted on his feelings with Erika because of his friendship with Conrado,
and now they do because they were saying goodbye, probably never to see each other again.

Jota dismissed Gina, but I think he said he would see her later. of course he gave her a roll of money which the girl's figured is why she was there in the first place.

this wasn't clear, but I think Leandro met Iggy at the warehouse, but took him to another place for his surprise where they actually had, is it called a funeral pyre, built, (and where did Leandro get all the new guys) they took Anas out of her cell and shackled her into the middle of that stack of wood, (a major Houdini trick if she escaped) and it was Iggy that pulled out his zippo, lit it, and handed it to Leandro, who threw it, but I'm figuring they burnt down the whole building, (you'd think they would do this stuff outside, or maybe they did, next to a building)

that Silvana seems to fit right in where ever she is.

Lu is such a sweetheart, an amazing actress (Daniela Wong), we actually saw her before in Senor de los Cielos, she was Ruta's highschool friend.

and Jorge is the new director of the CNI
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirección_de_Inteligencia_Nacional

It's kind of nice that Conrado and Alejo got together, I guess there was enough money there for the both of them, and they have both come a long ways in becoming hardened criminals, I'm curious to see how things go in Chile.

and Leandro reminisces, looking at an old photo of him and his brother (whose death started this whole thing) as kids playing with guns, and earlier when he talked to Anas about war, he said there has to be two for a war, and didn't he vow to take out the two Chileans and the Mexican as well?

I'm guessing that there won't be a big wedding, scenes with all the new kids and grandkids, and the other usual stuff in this gran final.

Avenida B
Wee Rita, that's not a silly question. The answer isn't all that apparent. The link I put up, which was the one NovelaMaven supplied the week before, when AB started, was to the Telemundo page for the week starting Monday, Jan. 13, 2014. The URL looked like this:
http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2014/01/telemundo-y-mas-front-page-la-reina-del_13.html . Yeah, it's pretty ugly, but if you use that URL but just change the 13.html at the end to 20.html, you'll get the Telemundo page for the week starting Jan. 20, 2014. Change it to 27, and you'll get the next week. I bet that once we get into February, the URL will include 2014/02/ instead of 2014/01. So it's a bit of a pain, but by no means impossible.

Hope this helps.

Dueños
Wow, Hombre, your recaps are amazing! You pack so much in so skillfully and succinctly. Muchas gracias otra vez.

When Erika walked into her house, there was what looked like white stuff all over the floor. Tissues? Toilet paper? Cocaine???
I really feared it was the latter, planted there to make Erika look like a druggie and/or drug dealer. Didn't Anas say she was going to get even with Conrado AND with Erika? Apparently the white stuff was just schmutz/mess/whatever, but not cocaine, but I kept expecting the police to arrive and arrest her, and especially once she and Adán were "saying their goodbyes."

I too am assuming that Anas isn't dead, and that Renato has somehow once again come to the rescue. Though perhaps the writers are playing with us, knowing that that's what we're thinking/expecting. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
I hope Anas isn't dead, but I also hope that this will turn out to be Season 1, with a Season 2 on the way. Season 1 was OK, but I'm glad it's ending, and I have no wish to watch a Season 2.

Dueños
NovelaMaven, I loved your comment "Adan (the most unlikely chick magnet on TV, digo yo)." I agree 100%!

The instructions I gave earlier today about accessing the 2014 recaps were mostly but not completely correct. I've now tracked down all the correct URLs. I'm not sure what they'll look like here. I'll put in the first 6 or so and see whether they're at all clear. If they are, I'll post the remaining ones in a separate message.

If they're correct, all you need to do is copy the URL beginning with http:// and ending with .html and paste it into the address bar of your browser (in other words, leave out week of Feb. 20, etc.). Here are the first ones:

Adan is no chick magnet, ja, ja, but he is sweet & was a basically honest person until Conrado led him astray.
I find the sweet part rather appealing, especially with what we have for chick magnets.

and thanks too for the clarification on why Vero's mom was on the floor I misunderstood what Dario was saying and was way confused till you cleared it up for me.

Yay Nerdy Cousin is back! I wish they'd let us see more of her, she could be an interesting character if they let her be more than just a foil for Sidepiece

Avenida B.
Juanita--Thanks for all your hard work to give us URL links.

I found it easier to access Telemundo from the sidebar. Maybe not everyone's search engine works. I remember Blog Mom saying Chrome doesn't work on recap feeds.

If it works for you, just scroll down to the January 13, 2014 date (the one that says "et cetera.") Then use it the way you use this comment section--scrolling and stopping wherever you see Avenida B.

Then just keep scrolling up for each week, wherever "et cetera" shows up.

Mads voice comes through loud and clear. She is still greatly missed.

Avenida B

I was planning to cut and paste Mads' recaps into our current week's blog. That way only 1 person will have to search through the blog archives and whoever does it can taylor it to the episode that is being shown now. Most of the daytime broadcast was in 2 hour segments.

Avenida B

Jean--
If you are willing to cut and paste the original recaps, I'm all for it. I noticed the spillover of the originals and stopped reading so I wouldn't get ahead of where we were in the story.

I can help out, after QA ends in early May. We can stay in touch.

AVENIDA BRASIL

I have two questions, sorry if this has already been covered.
1. How did Ivana (Tifons sister) know Nina/Rita?

2. Does Tifon know that Jorgito/ Batata is Carmina's biological child? Or does he just think they adopted a random needy kid from the tiradero?

~ Wee Rita

Avenida B.

Wee Rita--
1) Ivana and Nina/Rita met through social network. I heard them say they have exchanged hundreds...no thousands of messages. I think they met face-to-face for the first time the day they had lunch together and Nina asked Ivana for a job as cook at her SIL's place. Ivana has no idea who Nina is, but Nina/Rita knows exactly who Ivana is.

2) Tifon does NOT know Jorgito/Batata is Carmina's (and probably Max's child--since he is frustrated by his behavior and thinks he'd do a better job disciplining him). Tifon also thinks Agata is Genesio's child, but we're pretty sure it's either Max's or Tifon's (but probably Max's).

Avenida B.
Wee Rita--
What I meant by Ivana not knowing who Nina was, I mean her relationship to Carmina and Max. I'm sure she knows she's a well-known chef who's been living in Argentina and was working in her boyfriend's restaurant.
