Mi corazon es tuyo #175 25 Mar 2015... The church wedding! with more guests than expected... and several amusing extras

Refritos: Ana and Soledad get in the limo… Ana whispers to Sole ‘don’t you notice something wrong with the driver?’ Next we see the driver communicate with Arquimides ‘its all ready here. Ana is inside.’ The limo leaves the house.

Jennifer rants at Johnny for borrowing money from some questionable guy to offer it to David for Aura. Johnny says don’t worry about that, only think you will have Aura in your arms today. ‘you haven’t learned anything’.

Diego, Nico and Fernando start to worry about Ana’s tardiness.

Hissa meets up with Arq and the limo at the top of a hillside. Hissa is celebrating/laughing ‘I want Ana to realize I AM the one that won in the end!’

Lo Nuevo:

Suddenly some heavy woman comes out of the limo. Hissa’s face is priceless… (wrong bride!!!)

Meanwhile at church Ana gets out of the limo. Fernando gets excited at seeing her from far away. He turns around and says ‘I can’t see her!’ and asks Nico how she looks. Bellisima!!

Hissa rants at Arq and Jairo (the driver) that they brought a different Ana to them. The wrong Ana asks them to bring her to the church, her bf is waiting for her. Hissa starts arguing with her. Ana 2 says ‘I prefer to be fat than to be crazy like you!!’

Hissa, Jairo and Arq get in the limo and leave the Ana 2 bride alone in the hillside!

At the church, Luz and Mau are carrying the train… Nico comments to Ana ‘you don’t know how long I have been waiting for this moment. ‘ ‘no more than I!’ is her answer.

A good opera singer is singing Ave Maria while Fernando is sighing as Ana and Nico approach. Ana blows kisses to the kids, the girlfriends, etc everyone she knows…

As Ana and Nico arrive to the altar, Ana makes a pose for Fernando with her hand on her hip. Fernando continues swooning at her. Nico hands Ana over to Fernando ‘Fernando, I give you Ana, whom I love as a daughter.’ Ana and Soledad have their moment too and Soledad gives her her blessing… Fernando watches very happily.

As Ana approaches Fernando, she whispers that he is ‘guapo’. He is speechless.

As the priest starts with the signal of the cross… Hissa is ready outside with a bazooka on her shoulder, talks to camera.

Fernando and Ana say their vows ‘… I, XXX, promise to love you, YYY, and be faithful to you until death do us part’.

Fernando and Ana exchange rings… Hissa is ready to shoot…

Time for the arras (symbolic coins).

Hissa shoots the bazooka but it malfunctions. She then starts ranting insults for Arq and points the bazooka up.

Hissa tries the trigger again and this time the bazooka shoots straight up. The explosion sound makes Johnny and Diego run out to the door as Arq is dragging Hissa away. Johnny asks Diego if he knows what that was. Diego says he has been in war zone… he knows that was the sound of a bazooka shooting. They even smell powder.

As the priest continues asking Ana and Fernando if they came willingly, etc… we see a barefoot woman in aura approaching them from behind. Both Ana and Fernando sense a presence so they turn around. It is Fanny Sr. she nods ‘yes’ to both Fernando and Ana… Fernando and Ana then ask each other if they felt/saw what they did. They agree that it felt like Fanny Sr came to give them her approval/blessing, it did not feel threatening at all. Fernando agrees and caresses her face.

Hissa seems to have lost some of her hearing from the bazooka explosion, she is shouting at Arq in her apartment even though he is right beside her. She is checking on him for Plan C being ready (something poisoned, seems the cake was poisoned)

Meanwhile at church the priest is giving them his blessing and lets Fernando kiss his bride. SMUAAAAAAAAAACK!!!

All the kids and their dates(where applicable),Diego, Edith and friends from Chicago and Big Mike are clapping happily.

(Have to say Ana looks really lovely in her dress, even if her braid around her head make her look a bit heavier on the face)

The guy again sings the Ave Maria as Fernando and Ana walk out of the church.

In her apartment, Isa is with a big chrome pot and a huge spoon. She is cooking the poison when Arq comes running saying the cake is here!! Isa is dancing with a table full of poison symbol cups and boxes.

At the reception, which is NOT in the Manse backyard… everyone is stuffing themselves and there is sweet stuff all around, besides lobster, gifts, and the video car the boys are working with.

Tomas is mingling with friends of Ana from Ecatepec… everyone is speaking wonders about Ana. The dance teacher/mc of Chicago takes on his typical role being the mc of the reception. He introduces Fernando and Ana… they make their triumphant entrance. Kay plays the theme song while they dance. (there are two new guys playing with Kay) … SMUAAAAAACK…

Back at Isa’s apt… she would give anything to be able to watch as everyone eats the poisoned cake. Arq says she is so excited it is better if she stays behind… He leaves with the cake while she is savoring her victory over Ana, Fer, Diego, everyone!! Again she is getting drunk with wine.

The cake arrives at the reception with Arq and another guy. The boys ask Arq what his name is, they find it funny.

We see Laura showing up outside… she remembers her time with Enrique and then her argument with Ximena. Ximena slaps her… then she remembers Leon telling her he will fight for Fanny. She slaps him… Later she remembers telling Fanny that she doesn’t have what Fanny has and Fanny asking her to respect herself a bit more. Laura says ‘you will pay, Fanny!’ …

Inside, Fanny is walking around with Leon. They are talking about Nando and his decision that he won’t make.

Someone calls Johnny on the phone. He walks out to take the call.

Fernando asks Ana about Johnny and Jennifer’s adoption issue. Ana tells him that Aura’s dad showed up. Fernando sad to hear what is going on there.

Outside, Laura sees Johnny on phone, he agrees to meet someone in about an hour and a half. Laura sees him walk away.

Hissa still savoring victory in her apartment. Everyone who eats the cake will die!... they will die!...

At the wedding reception… all three of the young kids are right by the cake drooling to get a taste. (make that four, Mau is with them). Ana catches them right on time before they give in to their craving. Ana makes a deal with them, if you all eat the meat, Ana will cut them all a slice in secret. Ana stays there staring at her wedding cake, drooling herself (no, don’t do it Ana!!!)

Fanny walks outside… Laura confronts her. ‘I came to take revenge on you! You took Leon from me!’ ‘I have not done anything to you! Leon has never been yours!’ Laura pulls out an electric shaver(men’s shaver) As she tries to attack Fanny, Leon and two of the security guys come to save Fanny. Leon tells Laura ‘you destroyed yourself, Laura!!’ she is dragged away as she yells ‘I hate you all!! I hate you all!!’

Edith and Ximena tell each other they owe Fanny so much… Meanwhile Nando approaches them as he tells himself ‘how did I not realize this earlier? Edith is the one I love!’ Nando tells Edith and Ximena that he finally realized he loves Edith more. Edith and Ximena finally team up to confront him on his indecision… he has been selfish and never cared about their feelings. They won’t even let him talk. They tell him he has to find himself. They have decided that neither of them wants to be with him since they can’t be with someone who doesn’t know what he wants. They will always be friends… but they both walk away from him. He is in disbelief.

Johnny finds David unconscious. He tries to wake him up, but to no avail.

Luz has a bite of the cake and instantly feels bad. Ana and Fernando get alarmed. Ana starts yelling for help, an ambulance!! Please no!! No, no! this family deserves to be happy!!! You can’t die!! No, God!!!! (this was Isa’s dream, thank GOD!!!) She celebrates on… laughing herself.

Meanwhile the little ones are talping Sebastian, who for some reason gets nervous, trips on some cables on the floor and ends up landing/crashing into the cake, sending it to the floor… Everyone skips a breath. Fernando reacts very civilized ‘its nothing, don’t worry’.

Arq gets really anxious. Out of 3 plans, 3 failures!! 100% inefficiency!!! (lol!)

Seems David was knocked by Monica. She took Aura out for a walk. David asks Johnny if he brought the money. David gives Johnny a written down amount. Johnny is blown away… David says he can lower the amount. Johnny says could only give him about 10% of that amount, but in any case they are already working on adopting another baby girl. C’iao! Johnny leaves, David gets miffed. Monica comes back with the baby and they are worried that Johnny is gone and won’t pay. They need money for the baby expenses.

Arq comes to Isa’s to tell her about one of the kids falling on the cake and destroyed it. Isa again has another tantrum and calls Arq a bruto!!

Johnny comes back to the reception. Jennifer was worried already. Johnny is smiling, tells her he just made a brilliant move.

Showtime!

The Lascurain kids are putting on a song and dance… they tell the story that no nanny could stand them… when Ana came in, they did not want her to leave. She brought Siete, a brave doggy. Alicia continues that Ana always was able to listen to them. Nando tells her they love her like a mom and she and Dad make a perfect couple. Fanny mentions about the love between Ana and Fernando. Fernando sings that she stole his heart and he gladly accepted. Ana sings that she now has a new meaning to her life. The whole family sings ‘with you I lack nothing’… and they finish with the alabio alabao!! Mi corazon es tuyo!! Rah, Rah, Rah!!!... they do a Lascurain hug to finish.

Later at the party Fanny approaches Nando, who is sad. Leon comes by too. He tells them that both Edith and Ximena sent him packing. Fanny is holding the laughter. Fanny and Leon tell him he took too long to decide. ‘ended up like the dog of the two cakes’. (Fanny laughs again and Nando gets miffed at her) To add insult to injury, Edith and Ximena mock Nando from a few yards away. Both Fanny and Nando smile, but Fanny manages to tell Nando ‘everything will be alright’. He is still looking totally deflated/disengaged.

Diego arrives to the Mans… Hercules!.. Sanson!... (j.k.) Zeus… is washing the white car. Diego arrives in his motorbike, Zeus drools for the motorcycle. Diego notices and lets him get a ride… only that by the time Zeus puts on the helmet, he hears Fernando call for him. Zeus tells Diego that Fernando and Ana are heading to the OBGYN to get a sonogram. Diego wonders if they will find out if it is boy or girl.

At the Merceditas (?) Johnny and Jennifer are trying to make David and Monica believe that they are no longer interested in baby Aura, they show David a photo of another little girl they are in the process of adopting now. We hear Jennifer think that hopefully David is buying this bluff.

At OBGYN Fernando and Ana are getting the sonogram. The doctor is observing the screen and then says ‘… hmmm! Interesting!’… Fernando and Ana look at the screen and also get speechless.

Fernando and Ana arrive at the house. Diego finds them outside. Fernando and Ana can’t help but share a little ‘secret’ with Diego, a secret that makes him smile wide.

Adoption signing time… the notary makes David sign the adoption paper first. David is still a bit not bought into Jen and Johnny’s bluff. But he signs anyway. Then Johnny signs… As David and Monica are leaving David notices Johnny and Jenn are really happy with the baby. He asks ‘didn’t you not care anymore about the girl?’ Johnny looks at him ‘actually, we care very much for her, and will make her very happy’.

Eight months later…

Ana is VERY ROUND… she and Fernando walk slowly toward the bed. She leans down as Fernando calls her belly ‘el balón’ (soccer ball) … she starts to cry, he asks her why, she says it is the hormones. He offers a kiss to help. She asks him for a kiss in the bellybutton, then at top of her belly, then on her lips… Fernando is too happy to oblige.

I'll be back to edit a bit...
this was a great novela to recap. thanks to all the rest of the recapping team.... and will hope to see you all in later blogs.. A special big thank you to our blog Mom Jane for putting this vehicle for us to share thoughts and virtual friendships.

Great work, Marta. For all the frustrating things about this novela I'm going to miss it.

I agree about Ana's hairstyle at the wedding. What were they thinking?

I'm not getting the setup about the limo (more on this on Friday).

When I saw Luz eat the cake I almost lost it. I could imagine Osorio getting massive amounts of hate mail had that not been a dream sequence.

Good thing about Ximena and Edith. And Laura.

Does anyone else think that Arquimedes is a sociopath, just like Hissabela?

Apollo (who was normally cheerful) was outraged. “She poisoned the wedding cake! How sick does anyone have to be to try to kill a whole church full of people?”

“I don't know, bro,” said Hermes. “But even though this failed, she needs major payback for it. And so should that weasely little accomplice of hers.”

“Prison would be enough for him,” said Zeus. “He will be punished repeatedly there.”

“Dad, when did you get back?”

“Just now. I only stayed long enough to make sure that the two couples were safely married. Manuela was quite a temptation, but your stepmother would never forgive me if I had taken it.”

“Of course she would have; she has many times before.”

“There are limits, son, even for us. By the way, where is she?”

“She's in a secret conference with Aphrodite,” said Apollo. “I suspect they are discussing Estefania.”

“Ah! I think I know what they are talking about. I will join them.”

He left as Apollo poured two challises of nectar.

“I still can't get over Hissabela laughing at the idea of Luz eating the cake and dying.”

“She must have been Erzsébet Báthory in a previous life. Only she came back as a different kind of vampire.”

Marta, thanks for yet another great recap and also doing two recaps a week every week for this novela.

Another great episode.

I especially enjoyed:

Isabella's "se van a morir " (they are going to die) song and dance.

Isabella and her hearing loss after the bazooka experience.

Luz and Mau holding Ana's train.

Estefanía's spirit blessing Ana and Fernando.

Fanny not able to hide her laughter when Nando told her that both Edith and Ximena had left him high and dry.

The passage of time so we know what happened after the wedding.

Zeus discovered that the ladies had already made the plans.

“And when were you going to tell me?” he asked.

“You would have known a few days ago if you had been here,” said Hera.

“Come on, Hera. I didn't do anything but make Bruno realize he loved Manuela.”

“Oh, and how do I know that?”

“You can ask Estefania. She was at the wedding. Of the mortals only Ana and Fernando were able to see her.”

“She was?” Aphrodite then realized she hadn't seen her all day. “She must have stopped Hissabela's evil deeds before the ceremony and caused the accident with the poisoned cake. If she is so strong she can do this already then we must make her one of us.”

“Indeed. We will hold the ceremony tomorrow after sunrise. Apollo would never want us to begin without him.”

Hera nodded in agreement.

Nando sent packing: Priceless!

This scene is worth rewatching:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjbtRAuvM3U

Happy ending indeed! Finally both Xi and Edith make the rational choice.

And a scene that was scrubbed (not a spoiler), but with the Televisa logo I wonder when it was aired, maybe a an outtakes special program?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAlmVC3Nkfk

Johnny refusing to pay: Priceless!

Bio Baby-Daddy caving under Aura's weight: Priceless

Bio Baby Daddy: But I thought you didn't care about the baby...

Johnny and Jenny in unison: You've been puuuunked!!!!

Johnny actually doing something smart: Miraculous!

Twins! (Or triples or quadruplets... etc: Very expensive! But who cares! Fernando has the dough.

Wile E Bela's big bazooka failing: Lesson: Don't buy from Acme!

The missing rocket: So the bazooka shot straight up; I was waiting for it to come back down and strike Bela in keeping with the usual fate awaiting Wile E Coyote... Suuuper Genius.

Laura attacking with an electric razor: Huh? Really? Is there any chance that it was really one of those electric discharge weapons?

"I could imagine Osorio getting massive amounts of hate mail..."

But it would have boosted ratings through the roof!

This is dedicated to you Bela:

I am glad this story is ending, and yet... it will leave a certain void, both in my TV watching habits and in this space that we all shared.

That scene with Nando and the two girls punking him was included in the "alternate" stuff along with the finale episode. I think it was intended to be funny because Nando once had a nightmare about Ximena being pregnant.

what is the name of the tenor singing Ave Maria at the wedding? I thought he was very good.

here is a little something i found. will be great, esp for those who did not watch the beginning, like you Bryan.

To all the recappers

Even though this novela was juvenile at times, had plot lines that were left dangling, seemed to go on forever, and had characters that were thrown in with the kitchen sink, I'm going to miss all the colorful, engaging, and captivating recaps written every night by such dedicated writers that put their own lives on hold to turn out daily recaps with such devotion and care.

Without a doubt, I'm going to miss my morning or nighttime MCET fix and all things Fernando, Ana, and Luz. Add Mau in there also.

Every recapper had their own unique style of presenting each episode's events, and I appreciated reading each one with a different angle of view.

I'm glad I started watching Que Dios te Perdone so that my MCET withdrawal won't be as severe. That novela is picking up speed just at the right time.

I've learned that telenovela withdrawal is a real and frustrating thing! Especially with a studio like Televisa that doesn't seem to have a strategy for producing enthralling telenovelas, and for Univision who can't stick to a coherent scheule.

Again, my complements and appreciation to each and every recapper.

All kinds of wrong-headedness going on:

What WAS that thing on Fanny's head?

Horrible hairdo on Ana.

Jennifer's hair looked greasy and scraggly ... why?

There were a few other weird-looking heads on some of the wedding guests also, QTH??

Marta and Gobluefan from OH,

I thought the person who sang Ave María at the wedding was superb, and I wish we could have heard more. Also, I wish we knew who he was.

Well, for once, Osorio gave us what he promised: a wedding before the Gran Final.

Although, I can't make sense out of two of the alternate endings posted on YouTube.

1) Isabruja blowing up the church, people and all, with a bazooka. Did Osorio really think that this ending would be happily received by the viewers? Killing off everyone, adults and children alike !! NO WAY....

2) and what background did Osorio give us to warrant having our gorgeous, talented, and adorable Diego end up by awarding Isabruja with a kiss (big smacker at that) and as his partner to go adventuring across the world? Rewarding a nonrepentent antagonist goes against ALL telenovela tried and true rules. And frankly, I can't remember ever seeing a novela with such an ending.

The alternate ending with Edith and Ximena telling Nando they were pregnant was hilarious! Nando deserved that ending more than being shafted by both girls.

An electric razor, that's the best Osorio could come up with, pleeeeease.

For me personally, I think the whole 'alternate' ending thing was just a smokescreen and bunch of crap. Done more for publicity than anything else.

I look forward to reading other's opinions on this topic.

By the way:
I read that PM co-wrote the song 'Ojitos Bonitos' during his 'forced' sabatical in honor of his second daughter (the youngest I believe).

PM has turned out and sang two great songs for this novela 'Te tengo y no' and 'Ojitos Bonitos' and should be acknowledged and rewarded for putting up with all the negative publicity flack from Osorio and the press.

Here is the Youtube link for PM singing 'Ojitos Bonitos' during the Gran Final, he is in his usual great mariachi attire.

https://youtu.be/lHHSOWz6X9k

And 'Te tengo y no':

Mi Corazón Es Tuyo (especial musical) - Pablo Montero - Te tengo y no:

https://youtu.be/yRyme227JWc

It actually looks like PM is wearing a stud-magnificent leather mariachi outfit !!

I promise to shut up for awhile, but just wanted to say that I wish Osorio had allowed JS and PM to sing together during the novela. JS actually has a great voice and is a singer in his own right.

If you are interested, from FELS :

Pablo Montero, Jorge Salinas, y Eduardo Yañez los Tres Reyes cantando 'Y me he equivocado':

https://youtu.be/Mdc6ga0Yn3E

That was an excellent song. Which is what makes me really peeved that JS didn't get to do his own singing in QBA. At the very least they should only have used one singer's voice to dub him (and it should have been the one that sounded like Alejandro Fernandez).

So much for that.

Ximena and Edith punking Nando was funny, but inconsistent with the face that we saw him buying condoms early in the story and being responsible about this. More later.

Uh, that should have been "fact." I should never post before caffeine.

Thank you Marta and Co. for all your work. You got us through this.

The singer did justice to Ave Maria, just beautiful. I thought for sure we were going to get the botched version with Pablo Montero singing it as he has in past TN's. That's one song he just cannot do.

I like Ana's hair.

So Edith was able to come back and convince Ximena that neither one of them should be with 17 year old Nando. Good for them. But if the basis of their new found friendship is the fact that they were fighting over a 17 year old, they still have issues to work out and have nothing to be proud of. The whole scene between them punking Nando just seemed so forced and unnatural.

I'm guessing twins for Ana.

laura pulled out clippers. I laughed at this, I thought she had a gun. This wasn't terrifying, it was comical to me as was Isabella attempts at destroying the wedding.

I can't believe they just left that woman in the mountains.

By the way,
the other bride left stranded on the cliff was none other than actress Michelle Rodríguez, who played Policarpia "Polita" Lopez in AV. She was so annoying in that novela that I'll probably never forget her.

So Edith was able to come back and convince Ximena that neither one of them should be with Nando. Good for them. However the punking scene did not impress me. It looked forced and unnatural. I stil see them as insecure women with issues and this doesn't change that opinion.

I'm predicting twins for Ana.

Isabella failing in all her attempts were comical as is the norm with her character. I just don't feel hatred for her. Also, they never explained why Ana was so late.

I can't believe they left that other woman in th mountains like that.

I guess Laura attacking Fanny was suppose to be terrifying, but when she pulled out the clippers instead of a gun I laughed. That was her great revenge?? A haircut?

Is it the norm in mexico that the cake to arrive after the wedding is over?

I did like the episode but so much seemed so rushed.

ok its not even over yet and i already have JS withdrawal. So i just bought the condensed DVDs of LQNPA and FELS from amazon... both are between $9 and $10. they also have QBA for $14, i think. i am going to check if i can get that one at walmart for less.

i agree with you Bryan. it seemed Osorio wanted to make the finale week entertaining that it seems disjointed...

Bryan, hair has so much meaning that it wouldn't have been just "a haircut."

Imagine Fanny bald. That was Laura's objective.

I ran out of superlatives long ago so a heartfelt thank you Marta.

Victoria, I agree the alternate endings just part of the marketing and like it or not Osorio got a winner with this TN. I too will miss it, silliness, frustration and all.

My prayers answered when X & E told Nando no thanks and loved it when they told him he needs to grow up. He does, those girls chasing him went to his head.

What an unflattering hairdo on Ana.

Mayrin is so funny, delightful.

I weirded out, Estefanía was part of Ana and Fernando's wedding.

i found the ave maria from last night.
his name is Carlos Marin.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mjncypkK3I

Marta
Great job. Thanks for finding that video. I thought it might be one of the guys from ll Divo, but wasn't sure. I loved them in 'Sortilegio' and they do am awesome 'Amazing Grace'.

Tks mucho Marta

I think Isa & Laura are bothe going to end up in the manicomio.

I think some of the tattoos on Ediths arm are paw prints.

Carlos Marin is from Il Divo. We were spared from Pablo singing it off key.

I understand that UA and i know it what laura wanted to do. I was just saying I would've bet my life that she was going to pull a gun or a knife and threaten Fanny with it. That's more scary than threatening her with clippers. I'm just surprised they went the route with the clippers instead of a gun or knife.

Thank you Marta for the links.

Bryan, I'm actually not surprised, for two reasons:

1. This series aired before 9PM in both Mexico and the US
2. Laura was looking to prove she was superior to Fanny and Ximena and that required the destruction of Fanny's beauty, not taking her life. She also wanted to inflict misery on Fanny.

Urban, but we had mentioned in the past that Osorio was filming scenes to graphic for a young audience, for example, IkkyLizard killing the male nurse and all that blood, Doroteo locking Johnny up and beating him to a pulp, etc.

I guess though that since this was the finale, Osorio stepped it back a bit. However, I couldn't stop laughing at the ridiculousness of Laura pulling out the clippers. Did she think she was going to just physically hold Fanny down and shave her head with no interference? ? I guess crazy people don't think things through.

But did she really believe FAnny would just sit still and allow her to do it? For all her hatred and that crazed look laura had, pulling out clippers did not fit the tone that led up to their encounter. Also, did anyone noticed that when leon ran up to them, he didn't immediately jump in, he just stopped and laura let Fanny go. Then the guards grabbed laura. I thought that was odd.

I thought acid in the face.

Acid in the face would definitely have gotten Laura arrested and put in prison. Nobody I have ever heard of ever suffered that fate over shaving off someone else's hair. In fact, I've never heard of anyone even trying to sue a hair professional over a bad cut; nobody thinks that would be taken seriously.

Some crazy people don't think things through at all. Enrique seemed to, but he was a special kind of sociopath.

Wonderful recap!

I thought what Laura was holding was a taser, not clippers.

The family singalong was the cheesiest yet.

Yeah to Edith and Xime for coming out of their Nancoma!

Did not like Ana's hair or the way she preened during the walk down the aisle and at the altar. I guess I wanted something a bit more deep and heartfelt. She seemed to much on stage.

I almost lost it when Luz ate the cake and got sick.

So Isa and Laura are still on the loose. Two episodes remaining. Will Isa get her just desserts or be let off the hook?

The Lascuráin clan is far too gullible. There should have been security with a "persona non grata list" for the wedding and reception that would have included at least: Isabella, Pablo, Laura and anyone else with crazy possibilities. But if they did that, Iguess we wouldn't have a story. Too funny.

I have really enjoyed this one and it has been great seeing Jorge Salinas in his element in a full novela. Yes, I quit QBA because I felt he was way too old for his role and the way too common fisticuffs between the young males was a big yawn. Anyway, I hope to catch him in more movies and complete novelas

All in all this has been great fun!

Jarifa

Thank you so much for the recap Marta! I enjoyed it very much and it helped clear up some things for me.

I did not understand Johnny and Jen's brilliant plan, all I saw was Jenny awkwardly waving a picture of a baby girl at David. In the scene where Johnny saw the baby daddy unconscious I thought he was going to report him to CPS for being a drunk or something. Oh well, at least the plan worked, glad there was no money exchanged.

So glad Edith and Ximena finally came to their senses! They're two beautiful young women that have no need to fight about an immature boy. I did feel a little bad for Nando though for the way Ximena treated him initially, the kid almost died! But after his makeover and the bachelor'esque decision, he deserved it.

I am loving the Olympus commentary UA. Looking forward to the conclusion as much as the final of this TN. Thank you!

No te preocupes; the gods are still at work!

So am I, putting down my thoughts about the finale. I tend to need several long posts in finale discussions and I'm writing them up now. Don't know if anyone will agree with some of my points, but you'll get them on Friday.

Thanks again for your hard work putting together our recap Marta. All our recappers have been fantastic through all these episodes and so grateful for all your do.

So, I don't know, maybe I'm ready for this to end, but I was kind of let down with the wedding. I'm sorry, but I totally hated Ana's hair. What was that? And Fanny coming close with her head gear. They have kept trying to convince us through this whole thing Ana was simple in taste and kept true to who she was, screaming and all whether we liked it or not. Her look at the civil ceremony was so much better.

Looking at how must of the women looked, (though have to say, Edith looked rather fetching) I think hair and wardrobe people were moved off to another show already and they brought in interns.

Good for the girls telling Nando he needs to grow up and know himself...though the same could have been said to them right back. But at least that was the right way to deal with that whole threesome.

I was suspecting that the Luz poisoning had to be fake because it happened too fast and no one was moving to get her out of there. Still felt my heart pound and Isa's anvil needs to grow three sizes for even wishing that to happen to a child.

Do you still come up with and post the Weekend Discussion page if you are not recapping?

Also have you ever done one like, 'For your favorite
male and female star, name their best novela'. For example, Kate del Castillo, RdS. Just a thought, I'd love to read other's opinions.

That's a good idea for one; maybe next weekend. I imagine we will have a lot on our plate discussing the finale of MCET this weekend.

I will be catching up with QTPD and LSDP and will begin commenting on those as soon as I've caught up.

I had to catch up with QTPD for about 20 episodes and am so glad I did. I'll give LSDP a pass because I don't want to tarnish the memory I have of MI and AN from EM.

Victoria, i am with you. LSDP is in a bad time slot when i want to help my daughter with her h.s. math and i also dont want to tarnish the memory of EL with MI, AN and a very young Jorge Poza.

I think that is one thing I've enjoyed about watching LQLVMR and now QTPD because Angelli Nesma Medina seems to produce remakes that are just different enough from our cherished originals (Amor Real) to make them interesting to watch.
It's hard to believe that just a couple of years ago we were watching novelas with no greater than 125 - 150 (max) episodes.

I don't see tarnish, I see foolishness.

When I see a novela that's not as good as the one it remade I shake my head. The idea of remaking CME already is ridiculous.

Laura should have used that razor on Ana's hair. It looked horrid, like a winter hat or something.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ana is going to have not twins, but triplets.

To actually put rat poison in the cake is beyond psychotic. And Archimedes going along with it is equally psychotic.

Before reading the comments, a couple of questions:

Didn’t the annulment seem to be completely awfully quick?

With the 8 month time jump, wouldn’t Ana be about 10 months pregnant?

Marta: thank you for the wonderful job you’ve done on this and all other recaps. I’m going to miss them.

Can’t wait to get to the comments. A few thoughts before I do.

Didn’t like Ana’s hair or Fanny’s headpiece. I did like their dresses, especially Fanny’s. Loved the oyster grey color (at least that’s what it looked like on my TV).

Good job with the crazy person makeup for Laura. Poor pathetic Laura. I doubt she would have gotten close enough to do any damage, even without Leon’s intervention.

So, are you all surprised the writers chose to have both Xi and Edith breakup with Nando? I don’t think many of us thought that would actually happen. Of course, there are still two eps to go.

Isa’s villainy is pretty comic and lots of fun to watch. However, if you seriously look at what she’s trying to accomplish, it’s horrifying. What kind of person laughs at killing a little girl?!

Re: the annulment. Should be "completed."

Isabruja really lived up to her name, complete with mixing up her cauldron of smoking poison and cackling maniacally - "I'll get you yet, me pretties ... bwwwaaa-haahaaaa!" - So cartoonish, but still funny!

Sorry to interrupt. I see you have all received the spam comment as well. This particular spammer has been very virulent. I encourage everyone to report this person. I am doing for every single post that just came to my inbox (about 9...not to mention the 8 I got last week.)

Marta, you, as the poster of the recap can delete the spam comment. Just click on the trash can at the bottom of that comment.

Cathyx: triplets is my guess, too.

done. thankx, cathyx. didn't know i could do that.

Nanette, I didn't find her villainy funny at all. Her delivery might have been funny if his series was made for the 10PM hour, but it wasn't.

It takes a special kind of monster to laugh at the hypothetical murder of a child. And this was not the first time she's done that.

"this series."

This is not my day.

I just hated Ana's hair. What were the hairdressers trying to accomplish?

Also, Ana was her usual self -- more concerned with greeting the people attending the wedding rather than walking sedately down the aisle.

As for the singer, I for one thought he was horrible and sounded off key at certain points and just screamed as loud as he could. I hate when the Ave Maria is not sung in the original
way.

Marta, your recap was great.

Nanette, I thought it was strange how edith and Xim built their friendship while Xim was questioning Edith's motive. I was surprise Edith manage to convince Xim that neither one of them should be with Nando considering how lovestruck Xim was. But it's now 8 months later so It will be interesting to see where these 3 are now.

UA: I certainly don't think Isa's actions are funny. Like I stated, what she's actually doing is horrific. But I do think it's funny that she never succeeds. And I find her delivery funny. This TN has already crossed the boundaries on family hour viewing content.

Bryan: Agree. Should be interesting.

Eight months later could also mean Isa is an overweight drunk by now.

I would love to see Isabruja end up pole dancing in a super sleazy topless, smoke filled, hillbilly nightclub.

Isabela is like Wile E Coyote. Always trying but always failing.

"I would love to see Isabruja end up pole dancing in a super sleazy topless, smoke filled, hillbilly nightclub" LOL Oh, my sides

Nanette, I was thinking the same thing about the annulment. In real life it takes months or longer. Maybe Fernando had a "connection." LOL

I have found most of this novela very funny. The only part I did not think was funny was Doroteo's hold over poor people with no choices and his kidnapping and torture/beating of Johnny. Otherwise, it kept me laughing. Loved the corny special effects and fantasies, too.

Jarifa

I even liked the musical numbers with Sebastián and his rapping!

Jarifa

Jarifa: I think you and I are the only ones who really liked this TN for the most part.

Nope, add one more, I loved it, silly stuff and all.

Nanette, tofie, are either of you planning on watching "Amores con trampa"? It looks like it has possibilities and a pig as a pet. Made me think of Benito in HEFDM.

Jarifa

There hasn't been a synopsis page or a call for recappers for Amores con Trampa has there? Or did I miss that?

OMG, a cross between the Beverly Hillbillies and Green Acres!

No, cathyx, there has been nothing.

Jarifa

It would be better if I got the name correct:"Amor con trampas"

Jarifa

Tofie, I find that hard to believe. You rarely had anything nice to say about it. :)

Then there may not be a recap going for that one.

I think tofie liked the novela, she just did not like the way Fernando was blamed for being rough on Ana when the truth came out...

btw, I loved this novela too... can't wait for the condensed dvd to come out. but for now will calm down my JS withdrawal watching the cond version of LQNPA and FELS.

one of the funny moments for me was the judge saying 'Estefania Lascurain!!' with horse voice... even Silvia was cracking up on that one.

Even more than pole dancing, I want Isa to end up cleaning for someone else or waiting on someone else... remember when she came back form her honeymoon and how she dropped her breakfast tray on the floor and made Ana clean it up and then stepped on her hand when she was picking up some stuff off her suitcase? well, then i want Isa to be cleaning up food or, what's better... poop ... for someone else, maybe an old rich lady.

or since she tried to kill Siete, have her work at a pound cleaning up the cages.. how's that?

If Fer does not press charges after the sleep spray /hotel caper he deserves everything he got. Furthermore if Hogabela is not kicked out of H I S apartment in 24 hours he is Coo Coo for Cocoa Puffs himself.

I've never watched a condensed version of a novela and wonder what it would be like. In glancing through some of the recaps for other novelas, I've noticed quite a bit of criticism over terrible editting, especially to bring a novela to an earlier than anticipated end. Viewerville tends to say that the story looses cohesiveness.
But there are some novelas with greater than 175 episodes that I'd love to watch if I thought that the condensed version was worth it.
Maybe it would be great to see if they cut out all the stupid side stories which are nauseating to watch.

Forkin Fernando needed a vasectomy about 6 kiddos ago. Sheesh. Like a small town.

Victoria, a good sign of whether the condensed dvd is good is if you read the reviews of the condensed versions. keep in mind that for folks who saw the entire version and loved it and expected the condensed version to flow, that is a bit too much to expect.
Also, the length of the condensed version. For both LQNPA and FELS both novelas were over 150 eps long but both condensed versions have about 10 to 14 hrs worth of novela so it seems they have quite a bit. the older versions of condensed dvds, like those for Corazon salvaje '93 and Maria Isabel have only a few hours of novela so you can tell they had to strip them quite a bit.
so if the reviews are mixed or good, and the time length of the dvd is long, it might be worth it.

Interesting : Closed captions called Soledad Yolanda by mistake all night !

Thanks Marta, and funny that you should mention María Isabel--it's at the top of my "to watch" list.

Kirby, LOL!!! that's a good one!

Victoria, MI is a very 'novela rosa' (cinderella-like story), but not quite as faked as the 'Maria's with Thalia.

Just watched the Gran Final! 10 kids will likely have Fernando's mansion expanded to look like Malacanang Palace in the Philippines!
