Que Te Perdona Dios 8: So Far A Few Half-Spoken Truths and Not A Lot of Consequence

Cap # 8

2 Min. Review:  Feisty Fausto has handed the title to El Ramada over to Mateo .

The New:

The wealthy old maids, the de la Santa Cruz sisters (Efi and Edi)  are chatting with Ramona who is hitting them up for donations—actual materials rather than nasty, dirty money.  Only after reminding them she, and thus, the whole town know about their oversexed proclivities and their needing to untarnish their reps a bit, do the ladies agree to meet her with the charitable goods in tow.

Later in the day, Mat and Abi go for a walk and gossip.  “--Dunno what Uncle Feisty wanted with Diego.  Hope it didn’t have to do with lending me his horse so I could ...win…..”  "--Moving back here?"  "--Nope.  My practice is in Ciudad de Valle."  “—Whachya doing with El Ramada?”  “--Selling it.”  How could he??!! His Unkie Feisty will have a fit, she replies worriedly!!  (Yep and won’t that be fun to watch, sportsfans?)

Meanwhile, Unkie Feisty is back at Diana Montero’s for a quickie.

Back at Hacienda Something de los Angeles, Abi needs some lovin’ herself and asks the unsuspecting big brotherly Mat if he could ever be attracted to a girl like her. (Ok.  Remind me again the difference in their ages is what?  He’s a practicing surgeon and she’s just now graduating high school and possibly entering university.)

Sure thing, Mat replies with a smile!  Abi's sweet as pie, he says, and any novio of hers would be nutz not to truly love her;  and yes, his heart is previously spoken for--by the enchanting Srta. Diana Montero, aka, The Town Slut, who at that moment sweet Abi, Viewerville believes, sincerely wishes was dead.  However, being the sweet thing he’s confirmed for one and all (his being the hero of this tellymelly) that she (as heroine in this yarn) is, Abi is bound by her proper upbringing and her graciously good-natured temperament to belay that nasty thought.  Abi scurries off, lying to Mat that she’s forgotten a chore her mother left her to do.

Daring Ms. M is having a post-coital chat with Feisty.  This afternoon’s nookie snack should prove to him once and for all that Feisty is the only guy in the world for her.  No matter, he’s got a plan to insure that Mat never bothers her again.  (Bummer!)

Back at Hacienda blah, blah Angeles, Diego’s waiting for The Man to return.  Abue runs into him and gives him what for because of the machete macho match the day before in the vinyards.  He could have been sliced and diced.  The other guy started it.  Anyway he was defending Abi’s honor!  “--Forget that girl already!”  “—¡Nunca!” They go inside and Abue tells Sra. Renata what happened.  Please don’t allow Sr. Fausto to fire her grandson, she begs Ren.  The two women agree that even if Lucio started the fight by dissing Abi, Diego must learn to control his temper.  Diego disagrees and says no way he’s going to be called a coward for hiding behind some woman’s skirts doing that!

Just then Don Feisty shows up with Lucio scowling in the background.  “-You're fired, Diego!  I call the shots on this hacienda, remember, not her!  Lucio was doing his job and that’s that.”  Ren gets the last word.  “—Your foreman’s job doesn’t include harassing the farmhands.  He started it.  So no he isn't, and I want a word with you in your office.”

The two of them discuss it some more.  “--Diego’s not going anywhere.  I have my own plans.”  “Which are?”  He’ll have to wait until after Abi’s birthday party to find out.  “—You decide whatever, but I am still the administrator on this ranch, he reminds her (no doubt for the umpteenth time).  “--Only for as long as I decide to live under the same roof as you and don’t move off this rancho, bub!  Once I do that, you turn back into a pumpkin…er… a rich bumpkin and Sr. Nobody," she reminds him (also for probably the umpteenth time) as he reaches for a small dagger and waives it in front of her non-seeing eyes.  “—You just lost El Ramada.  You want to be left with nothing at all?”  Team Renata 1.  Team Feisty, nada.  “—I’m leaving to tell Diego that he’ll be staying.”  She strolls triumphantly out of “his” office as Viewerville sends up a resounding communal cheer.  (And now we know why she wears so many pants suits, don’t we, Class?)

At the same time, Abi returns home to mope and snivel over Mateo.  Macaria enters and needles her immediately about it.  Oh, she’s not laughing at Abi, but at Fausto cuz he’s completely over the moon about Diana Montero who his nephew, Mat, is after, and especially since Feisty has also just lost El Ramada to Mateo.  Abi’s a bit confounded.

At El Ramada, Mat’s mama is mad as heck.   She tells him he shouldn’t have humiliated his uncle that way and should make a public apology and give the rancho back to Fausto.  Nothing doing, Mat says and Mama, don’t butt in.  It’s a man thing and it was all Unc’s idea, anyway.  He heads off to Ren’s place to examine Sra. Crazy, aka, Constanza.

Mat’s Mama tells herself her greatest fears have been realized.  She knew that if this would happen the two of them would come to logger heads and it won’t end until they’ve torn each other to shreds.

Mat gets Ren to agree to bring in Sra Crazy to the big city, Ciudad de Valle, and perhaps to have those tests done on herself at the same time .

The two de la Cruz sisters decide they’ll save more money by buying the goods they donate themselves instead of handing over a check.  We learn that Short Haired Sis (Efi) has a thing for Ramona’s son, Toñito, who works at a stand in the local market. Glasses Sis (Edi) warns her against it.

Abi visits with Ren.  She admits to Ren that she is in love with Mat.  Heck, he’d never look at her and he’s in love with some other gal.  Guess who.  Diana Montero, aka, The Town Slut.  --OMG! Oh Noes!!!!

We find that Mat has gone to Srta. Slut’s to demand she tell him what’s going on between her and his Uncle Feisty.  As he tells Di, it don’t take much to figure out Unc’s unusually negative reaction to Mat's dating her smells like and spells involvement! "--Oh, he is a married man and he’s got a reputation for all sorts of lovers. And you were supposed to keep us a secret!"  Yep, Mat says, and he knows full well the way Uncle Feisty’s cheated on Aunt Ren all these years.  And so now she’s supposed to be one of them too?  So why the horse race and why was she part of the prize?  Suspicious, Mat asks her why she know this. Only he and his uncle knew that.  Uh…oh, yeah... Feisty told her aunt who told her!  Yeah, that’s it!  (Whew! Not a drop of sweat drops off her cool brow.)

Also that night, Ren puts Abi to bed.  Abi tells herself that it’s not Mat’s fault she’s in love with him.  So, she hopes he and Di will be happy together.  Downstairs, Ren and Mac chat about Abi’s being in love with Mat who is in love with the same gal as his uncle.  Mac thinks it’s a delicious irony, as not only has Mat won El Ramada from Feisty, but the woman Feisty’s in love with as well.  Ren, tho’, says it worries her because she fears he (sociopath that he is) will do something crazy bad to Mat.

Meanwhile, back at Sluts R Us, Di cries crocodile tears to Mat because the whole town says that she’s his uncle's lover.  Tía Slut, eavesdropping on the stairwell, rushes in and adds that they just do not know the truth: that she is paying off a loan from Feisty in order to pay off the debts incurred by Di’s dearly departed daddy.  Fausto forgets that back in the day, says Tía Slut, our family was of a much higher status than his!  Oh, well that’s a horse of a different color then, says Mat, relieved.  He and Di make up.  He tells them he will never stop fighting for her!  However, Tía and Di suggest he not antagonize Unc anymore.  Wait a bit longer before broadcasting they're formally dating to everybody.  (Whew!  Problem solved and resolved for Tia.)  Tía Slut retires and lets the two love-birds lock lips and make up.

Tía Slut’s maid has a big mouth, we learn, when the next morning at the market she meets up with Abi.  Abi’s putting off University cuz her madrina, Ren, needs her right now.  BTW, she says, as maid to los Montero, does she know if Mateo and Diana really are dating and going steady?  Yeah, but she’s not allowed to discuss it cuz she’ll be fired.  Oh, says Abi.  Maid girl, Edela?, tells her anyway, cuz they’re best buds.  Apparently, yeah, Srta. Diana is hopelessly in love with Dr. Mateo, but at the same time she’s also playing Don Fausto and what’s up with that, ya know?

In C del Valle Mat and his Maestro, Dr. Duarte, discuss patients they weren’t able to heal.  (Hmm.  Looks like Rene Strickler has finally cleaned up his act.  No more 5 o’clock shadow 24/7.)  He agrees to come down to the hacienda the next weekend to visit and then also to see Mat’s blind aunt to determine if she’s a good candidate for surgery.  Dr. D. reminds Mat that the chances are probably few that anything really could be done for his aunt, but he’ll check it out anyway.  Later, overcome with guilt at one of his surgical failures, the compassionate and most magnanimous Dr. Duarte finds a dark corner and cries alone, asking forgiveness from the patient he’d cheerfully told Mat to essentially forget as the exception that always proves the rule.

Di tells her aunt that she’s not worried about Fausto.  He’s crazy about her, and she’s determined to marry Mateo.  Anyway, it will be the only way to get herself rid of the old Fart, aka, Fausto.

Back at the market, Toñito abuses his so called friendship with Abi.  She’s nothing more than a simple servant so what’s the deal with the fancy party, right?  And anyway, now that he thinks about it she looks more like the patrona than her own mother.  It’s the eyes they share!  She slaps him upside the head.   Don’t you dare say anything about her madrina again!  Edela goes to get Diego who slaps Toñito around also and warns him off.  Edela tells him afterwards that he was asking for it, the loser!  He tells her he wasn’t saying anything the rest of the town didn’t already think!

Beaming back to Ren’s ranchazo, Mac eavesdrops on Ren’s “private chat with Pablo.”  Eventually she enters the room and they talk about the party being the next day, the fact that tho’ it’s Mac’s “daughter’s” birthday party she’s been ordered by Feisty to wear a uniform, and that she wouldn’t have anything nice to wear to it anyway.  Ren says fageddabowdit.  She’s not going to be forced into a maid’s uniform and have to be a servant rather than a regular guest at her own daughter’s party!  In  fact, she’ll loan her a dress.

The two sisters’ make their respective orders and deliveries…or plans to deliver.  Four Eyes Sis makes goo-goo eyes at her delivery man.  (Whew!  My ice bucket melteth.  I do not blame her one bit! That delivery man’s smile, pecs and bottom were all natural works of art.)

Abi takes another swim in the river, and yeah, she’s in another knee-length sundress.   Feisty is once again peering through the slash pines at her and getting his rocks off.

Toñito gets his best date duds on for his date with “his older woman”, aka, Rich Short Haired Kid Sis (Efi).

Mac shows Abi the dress that Ren loaned her for the birthday party, but Abi isn’t in a festive mood.  She’s moping again.  Abi knocks Mac for a loop when she asks the $64,000 peso question: “—Mom, why don’t I look like you?”

Does Mateo know that his girlfriend, Diana is banging Fausto ?

Dude is getting played by a skank!

Most wonderful recap,Jardinera!
I also loved how Renata stood up to Fausto,he may be an abusing state but he is still just a parasite!
I liked the Two sisters ,they have some potential but they seem like an distraction from the two CRAZIES or will they end up being evil? Still anxious about Fabian Robles and Laisha

I do not know how to feel about Stickler's character yet, he seems like a fragile soul with his past life being unknown .

Mateo is just way too naive,he gives up too early on the quest of truth and it does not help that the manipulator is an unnresistable blonde!
I have grown tired of the silly opening song,i would have preffered this:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X4OZVw6-Z6M
I do not know if that was supposed to be the song before they scrapped it off,..

Jardinera, a stunning debut on this line. Very well written and great fun - as always!

"(And now we know why she wears so many pants suits, don’t we, Class?)" and "Abi returns home to mope and snivel over Mateo" were only a few of my favorites.

Diana cannot keep tap dancing between Mat and Fausto indefinitely, can she?? that said, I love watching Altair play just about everyone in her orbit.

There's something comforting in seeing Rene as a doctor. Kind, caring, compassionate. He does humble very well.

Happy that Renata stood up to Fausto about Diego. Diego needs to reign in his temper - he's in enough trouble with Lucio and now Fausto. Not to mention, Mat has already lit up Abi's heart.

Jardinera, most excellent.

Diana (the "good" one)

Count, I like your comment that Rene's character is "fragile".

I too can't wait for Fabian and Laisha.

Diana

Steve/Diana/Count: Sorry that you early birds read the very rough draft (the 2:45AM version), and it's hopefully more comprehensible now--at least for the late readers. Je-je.

Anyway, no Mat doesn't realize Di and Feisty are really doing the down and dirty togather. Mat's still being hoodwinked by Di and Tía (Mia?). I'm sure he will continue to be for half the novela per tn rules.

Altair is great at making my teeth grate. What a conniving bitch. I guess part of the truth is that Daddy did leave her and the Auntie debts out the wazzoo and so the plan/scheme is to hook Mat and to squeeze every penny they can out of Fausto till Di can either marry or make a million and hay while the sun of yout and beauty shines.

No problem Jardinera,we should take our time to make our recaps wonderful, no one is holding us at gunpoint.
And yes Mat is naive but i hope he shakes it off soon .
It's quite interesting that he is greeting his uncle formally. Is it that because he is untrusting of his uncle, a sign of respect or we are the characters living in the 15th century?
Maybe Mat will offer Abi an Ipad Air as her birthday gift LOL

I also can't wait for Laisha to appear. Laisha + Altair + Sabine = Fireworks!!

I also can't wait for Laisha to appear. Laisha + Altair + Sabine = Fireworks!!

Altair is great Jardinera. She has been a favorite of mine since Guapos (she and Allison Lozz were great together there and in El Nombre del Amor).

And I love that the player, Fausto, is the one being played here. Big time!

Diana

Thanks so much ,Jardinera. I am happy to be watching the same tn and can read your snappy recaps.

Feisty and Di are quite a pair.

Diana--ditto re: Fausto and Altair.
======

Count: Respect for his side of the age differences and because Fausto raised him like a father. And I know I would've liked an IPad back then. But that was half a century ago and color tv and Princess phones were still rare!

Susanlynn! I'm happily looking forward to more of your musings on your personal past, myself! I was going to say that uh shorts, tees, sandals and a tan are my personal wardrobe regulars now that I am no-one 10. Je-Je!

I'm not familiar with the AMMF predecessor so I don't know what Laisha's role adds to the mix, but if she's paired with Fabian Robles it's gonna be awesome.

Jardinera- So wonderful to be reading your great recaps again!

Seems like Di is playing a very dangerous game. She's putting a lot of stock in Mateo keeping mum about their relationship to Fausto. Uhm, it's not like the whole town isn't full of gossips. They should all know by now that she's fooling with both uncle and nephew. And making a fool of Fausto could get her killed. I do enjoy that (for now) she's getting one over on Old Fart Fausto.

Speaking of the old fart, I just could not take his stalking of Abi at the watering hole as seriously as I took Estalker doing the same to Acacia in La Malquerida. Must be something about the mustache that makes me laugh each time. :)

This town seems to be filled with macho macho men and cougars. What's up with the ladies in town going after barely legal boys?

Another superb Jardinera recap, detailed, yet flowing, and filled with lots of snark bubbles.

Lots of familiar faces in this one. Diana/Altair is a genius at juggling and provoking men. Mark T. is so sweet and smiley here that I almost miss his sneaky, evil character in Que Pobres Tan Ricos.

The setup so far is moving quickly and we already have a couple of love triangles. Not to mention a blind woman, a crazy (or not) woman, a guilty doctor, a hot ranch hand, and a bunch of love-starved women.

Thanks, Jardinera. It's great to be reading your recaps again!

I too don't mind Diana making a fool of Fausto, but she and her Tia don't seem to realize he could kill somebody (like Diana or Mateo) over this.

The storylines of the two sisters and their lust for younger handymen and of the single mother and her two sons seem to be coming out of nowhere, but I'll have a little patience to see how they all fit in.

Hmmm, will there be sparks when Dr. Duarte examines Renata?

Oops! Auto-correct Kindle dictionary! I meant "zone 10."

========
Niecie, ViviDC, Paloma! Thanks! Glad to have an adult show again to recap--and happy that Saturday AM viewing MCET's fin is now sooner than later. Will be seeing that one through, of course, but also keeping my fingers crossed the 8PM slot brings a winner our way once more afterwards.

"a bunch of love-starved women". Mmmm-hmm. I'd say "sex starved"!! (Snicker) The crafty de la Cruz sisters are a new twist in Tn's I'm getting quite a kick out of seeing. Must be the obnoxious veritas of gettin' old.... je-je. They are livin' the dream in Smallsvilla ...and gettin' away with it!

As for OFF, it turns out to he's dangerous but he does now have his Achilles' heel where true love's concerned. His huge pride is due for a big fall--and right off the proverbial cliffside!! Macaria has got a right to laugh cuz she is the only one with all the facts and devil-may-care attitude who thus can thus see the irony of this situation clearly. The tables are finally turning. This time, with Young Sobrino, Mateo, OFF's going to get his ass-hat handed to him Big-time!

Hmmm...those randy sisters...why are they a part of this tale other than to spread the gossip ? How do you say ''cougar'' in Spanish ?

In the opening photos, is Fabian behind bars ?

Carlos is a big fan of Laisha. I wonder if he knows that she is in this tn.

Susanlynn: It's still not a cultural phenom big enough to characterize according to some of the posts I've read. Puma in context, Robacunos, Asaltacunas, Comehombres (my personal preference) and Vieja verde are some that were listed as possibilities for Spanish style Mrs. Robinsons.

Carlos is watching this one and will no doubt come out of hiding as it were, when the uh...spirit...moves, je-je. He's such a sucker for the e-vile beauties, isn't he???

Gotts get to work. I'll be incognito, now. sorry.

yes, Carlos loves those bad girls.

I think Carlos will be missing Bitch Maria in this one, she would come in handy now ,i am missing the scene when she wrote " ZORRA" on Monse"s car, that scene was so priceless ,i wish i could find the picture of that car :(

Oh and by the way i love the music for this novela ,like the Suspense music :
http://youtu.be/19VTarEvfXg

It would sound great for a Pokemon game for the Champion battle or a rival battle. I think that the next time i play Pokemon ,i am going to name the rival Fausto!

Doc and Abi are supposed to have a bigger age difference I think but It definitely doesn't show.

In AMF I felt like Ms. Arambula may have looked a bit TOO young for sexy Colunga. Here it's kind of the opposite.

I'm digging the sisters and Die's way with men. Altair looks like a natural at that.

When this tn started, Mateo was a little boy of what age? 6-9? That would be the age difference between him and Abi, correct? Also, college and medical school does not take as long in Mexico as it does here in the U.S.

Am going to *

Thanks for this fab recap, Jardinera!

I loved "Sluts R Us" Priceless!

So Diana used her charms and puppy dog eyes and is keeping Mateo wrapped around her finger.

I'm curious to find out what's up with Rene Strickler's character and a past that clearly seems to haunt him. Did he lose a child possibly?

What is up with some of the women in this TN? Diana, her tía, the sisters....they all got tricks up their sleeves and clearly are thirsty for men. Can't wait to see if Laisha's character will fit that mold. And, of course, I can't wait to see Fabian.

The scene where Ren was "talking" to Pablo was sweet. Mac doesn't seem to have any sympathy. Ren will regret ever being nice to Mac once Mac's true colors are unmasked.

I am finally getting a chance to watch this episode. The woman with the two sons was talking to a photo...her husband ? Those boys looked too old to be tucked into bed by mommy.

I do not understand why Feisty took the chance of losing the ranch to Mat in that race. Why take that risk? Old Feisty seems to be enjoying grabbing and kissing that young actress a little too much.

It was creepy watching Mac standing there in the doorway of Ren's bedroom listening to her talk to Pablo.Ren sensed that someone was there.

Thank you Jardinera for Perdone Dios #8

I'm still in a learning curve and must admit that the two sisters really threw me last night. Who were they and why were they there?

I think that Sabine is really playing her part well. I sure don't like her but she's doing a great job with her role.

Mama---Why don't I look like you?
Oh my. What will the answer be to that tonight?

I agree with Vivi---Diana might be a tough cookie but playing with dog Fausto could be asking for a death sentence.

Isn't Diego going to end up with sweet Abigail?
the gringo

The women with the two sons...the younger son played Macario's surprise son in Robo. The older was the guy slapped by Diego for harassing Abi in the market.

I knew I recognized the actor who plays the guy Efi likes. He played Chente in Abismo.

Jardinera, thank you for this recap. I really want to watch this novela but I am having trouble staying up. I seemed to be knocked out 30 minutes into each episode. If it weren't for my beloved Ferdinando Valencia, I would give up completely. So anyway, thanks again for the recap.

Constanza is really freaking me out. I too wonder if she is really crazy or if she is up to something.

Poor Abigail... I, personally, think that she looks better with Diego. Poor Diego....

Caryn

TF- Those of us watching Quiero Amarte right now are seeing this young actor (Adriano Z.) in that too. He was also in Fuerza del Destino, Corazon Salvaje, and Mi Pecado. I'm shocked to see that he's going to be paired here with an actress so much older. He's barely 18!

Yikes

I am not a native English speaker and I find it difficult to understand and keep up with when you shorten names or abbreviate them. I may be alone in this but it confuses me and I wish we could just call them by their real names. Thank you.
Iranka

Adriano was in LFdD, Vivi? I didn't know that. I'll have to check out the full cast list.

TF- He played young David Zepeda during the first part if the tn.
