Mi Corazon es Tuyo #104, Lives are saved today, Siete, Lenin, and Pablo edition

Sorry for this being so late. I didn't know until 5:30pm PST Friday that this show was being shown at 5:00pm PST instead of the usual 8:00pm PST because of the telethon. So, this recap consists of the first half hour being a synopsis of the show from Univision and the last half hour being what I was able to record, although without CC's because those weren't working last night either. What a night.

First half hour that I didn't see: (fill in more detail in the comments if you want)
Ana talks with León about his jealous behavior and it’s driving Fanny away.
Fanny and Lenin bring some of the kids from the shelter to the mobil cancer screening where the director of the shelter has gone and they suspect she has cancer.
Ana suspects something odd in Siete’s food, possibly rat poison, but not before he consumes some, and the family rushes him to the pet hospital.
Meanwhile, Isabela is patting herself on the back for a poisoning well done.
Edith runs into Nando without all the goth makeup, I don’t know where since I missed this part, and tells him that she’s Elisa and he’s completely clueless about who she really is.
Isabela tries to hack into Fernando’s computer to do her dastardly deeds, but is unsuccessful so far.
Last Half Hour:
León arrives at La Costeña headquarters to talk with a woman at a desk. Secretary? not sure. He notices 2 designs of a label and tells her that they are his designs he made and he came to talk to her about them. She tells him that if she wants to talk to him, she will contact him, she’s a cold fish. But they make a meeting date for tomorrow at 8:00 with Isabela.

Back at the manse, Bruno is telling Alicia he has specific orders to chaperone her and Pablo while everyone is away. She whines and complains, I want to send her to her room and tell her the date is now off because I can’t stand her childish behavior an every time she acts like a baby when there are restrictions put on her, she will not get to see Pablo. Period!  Ahem.

Fanny gets a call from León while she’s still at the clinic with Lenin. She tells him the bad news about the director’s health, but Leon only cares that she is with Lenin. León can’t control his jealousy, he snaps a pencil in half.

Back at the animal hospital, the family gets good news that Siete is going to be all right. They cheer. Sebastian wants to investigate who is trying to kill the dog.

Edith shows up at the clinic and sits by Lenin. He asks who she is and Fanny howls. It’s Edith, Lenin is in shock.

Pablo is getting ready for his hot date with Alicia, he’s popping pimples and spraying Ax all over himself.

Isabela comes home in a rage, there is another party in the apartment overhead. She can’t understand why YoMama isn’t upset by it.

Alicia and Pablo are staring at each other, Manuela calls Bruno away and the hormones take advantage of it to kiss. But they get their braces stuck together just at the time when the family comes home from the pet hospital. Fernando is ready to kill him, but realize they are stuck together and the kids are fascinated. Fernando is still having conniptions,  and Ana is trying to calm him down with her Chai tea, I mean Tai Chi breathing.

Edith is telling Lenin and Fanny about her encounter with Nando. Lenin wants to know why he couldn’t recognize her by her voice, she said she used a different voice. All of a sudden, Lenin gets up and walks away, LEÓN is in the house. Fanny goes to León and he tells her that he just came to apologize to her. Fanny leaves with him.  They got get coffee and talk. Ultimately, he tells her he loves her, the end.

Back at the braces dilemma, Ana has some wire cutters to separate them. After Ana cuts the wire and the get apart, Fernando goes for Pablo but Ana intervenes.

Avances: The divorce is final!!!!!!

Comments:
I couldn't find a good place to see this episode online. Univision won't let me view it because I don't have the right cable provider, and Televisa is a day behind their episodes.

Univision really pisses me off. I can't watch either 'cause I have Comcast. They must have had a disagreement, at 1st Comcast was included in their list.

I'm really sorry for all you guys that are getting the run around by your cable providers. I wish we could be liberted from ALL OF THEM.

Time Warner is just as bad, but better than Comcast, and hopefully the FCC won't allow their multi-billion dollar merger that will wipe out all the competition!

Cathyx, you did a great job recapping another boring episode. Many thanks to you!

Didn't anybody else notice that Pablo had a "Retainer", not braces, because he took the retainer out of a plastic container that holds retainers, night guards, etc. At least that's what I saw. Therefore, why the heck didn't he just pop it out of his mouth when he and Alicia got stuck together. Oh, I forgot, Osorio goes for dumb, dumb, and dumber jokes.

I'm only holding on to watching this stupid novela because of JS and SN, and PM (while they keep him in the show). I don't think I'll like Jorge A. too much as another side kick for Ana.

Victoria, I thought it was a retainer at first too, and I thought he put it in when he was getting himself ready for his date, but when they got stuck together, I figured it must not have been something removable, so I didn't say anything about a retainer.

Time Warner, Comcast, et all Bright House, I sent them all to visit the devil. Big antenna in my attic means I do not have to put up with any of the craziness and it is F R E E.

Kirby, I can't understand how you can get Univision, which is usually on a higher channel number, than those that antenna can usually pick up.

Thanks cathyx for great job hitting all the highlights....

Everyone is so clueless about Isa:
-She left Ana and Jennys on the road, they almost missed the wedding and nobody said anything.

-She smashed the guitar and none of the groundskeepers (who are in every outdoor scene) found it.

-She stole the picture for the big "scandal" and nobody figured out it was her.

-Will anybody figure out that she poisoned Siete? Or will Johnny/Edna get blamed.

Thanx, Cathyx, you did pick up all the major points. The only think I can add was that Edith physically bumped into Nando on the staircase at school. He was quite taken with her, but he left hurriedly. I think he was feeling guilty, because he really likes Edith.

I'm so glad Siete survived. He's my favorite character, next to Diego and Luz.

thing ... not think!

CathyX, this is where I watch Mi Corazon es Tuyo online:

http://vertelenovelas.net/mi-corazon-es-tuyo.html

I have not checked whether this episode is online and sometimes the episode numbers don't coincide... :-)

Rip Van Halen, great points. I forgot about the wedding drive, and I doubt that they will ever put two and two together. We've got a lot more show to go before she gets found out.

Salvador, all those sites like the one you posted are so full of popups and spam that I worry I'm going to catch a virus. Not to mention most of the time they want me to download something to view them with. It's not worth it to me.

Aleta, I didn't see that scene with Nando and Edith, that's funny that he was attracted to her and then thought to himself that he doesn't need a third woman to juggle.

CathyX, thank you for diving in on the second half of this episode with a great recap. It's much appreciated I'm sure, especially by those who completely missed the early air time.

The big highlight for me was Siete survived. When they showed him wearing the oxygen mask, with his little eyes glittering sadly, I thought they might actually kill him off. Whew!!! Thanks be to the TN gods of justice on this, at least.

Yah I think Pablo popped in a retainer, I couldn't figure out why he didn't just slip it out when they got locked up. Oh well. In light of Siete's good outcome I'm not in a mood to quibble about the writers!

Where is Mama Soledad? Will they pair her up with Nico? Will Nico survive after tempting fate by saying "I'm glad I lived long enough to see my sons reunited"? Will Manuela snap out of it? How come Ana never works at the Chicago anymore?

J in O

Cathyx, thanks for the recap. I missed the first half also because the timer on the vcr decided not to work. I discovered that about halfway through. I refuse to pay Comcast for a dvr. On Comcast On Demand, the Univision episodes are usually a couple of days late and a dollar short. Funny how they are always real prompt in posting new episodes the first couple of weeks of a new novela. Then it mysteriously changes to the same old same old just like this episode.

Victoria, I have another tv with an inside rabbit ear antenna and I get Univision just fine but I also live in a large metropolitan area with strong broadcast signals.

The braces getting stuck tigether was cute but predictable.

Siete did a good job with his little patas arriba playing dead or almost dead.

After seeing the alternate Edith and hearing about Edith's encounter with Nando, Fanny tells her: "Me hiciste el día" (you made my day). Lenin finds it necessary to try to correct her by telling her that that expression was an "anglicismo" (anglicism/taken from English). She told him "Excuse me" in English and he told her to just forget it. Maybe Fanny is starting to smarten up. So, now Lenin thinks he is the expert on the kind if Spanish everyone should be speaking? Maybe he should move to Spain and become a part of the Real Academia. He needs to stick a sock in it. I cannot wait for someone to take him down a few pegs.

I am sick of the PSA's eventhough I know they are an inevitable part of the genre. So far we have has PSA's for heart disease, reporting sexual abuse, mental illness and now early detection of breast cancer. What else can they possibly include? I don't want to think.

Luz was the best crier of them all.

Jarifa

Well, that's it and I am sticking to it! LOL

Cathyx
I agree about the ver telenovela site listed, everytime I try to pull up a Novela on this site, my McAfee security software gives me red lights saying it is unsafe and am I sure I want to go there. FYI

Thanks for this excellent recap under super-adverse circumstances, cathyx. The CCs were by turn appalling and absent. Good job.

I was disappointed with Ana on a number of counts:

She suggested that the poisoning might have been a result of the fumigation when it seemed clear that she recognized that Siete's food had been tampered with...

Then I don't think that she took the food in the dish with them on the trip to the vet (Manuela has likely emptied the dish and washed it by now)

Using the wire snippers to separate the teeny-kissers was not a good idea and was potentially dangerous

One last thing, it's unlikely that the rat poison (probably warfarin) would have kicked in so quickly

So all of Edith's tattoos were fake? Not much of a commitment.

Carlos

So all of Edith's tattoos were fake? Not much of a commitment.
Lol!
Good comments Carlos, very astute.

When Ana was snipping the braces apart, all I could think of was 'oh, the money it will cost to fix that.'

I always wondered if Edith's tattoos on her arms were those gloves that you can buy, I guess they must have been.

Thanks, Cathyx.
I'm probably the only person in viewerville who did not recognize Edith at all when she bumped into Nando on the stairs. BTW how much of a telenovela cliché is it to have a galán and a chica meet by having her drop things and they both bend down for and "meet"?

Denise

Thank you SO much, cathyx! I figured they would not show this because of the teleton, so I didn't even bother to check.

The ONLY thing I wanted to know was if little Siete made it through and he DID! That is all that matters to me at the moment.

Fatima

Gracias, Cathy.

With all those flashbacks to Siete's antics and adorableness I was also afraid we were going to lose him. That would have been too cruel.

It shouldn't take long for Sebas or the younger kids to figure out that La Bruja did it.

Thanks, Cathyx. I was surprised when this appeared on my DVR. I did get to see the whole thing, but you really didn't miss much.

I wanted to slap Leon when he was talking to Fanny and she was waiting at the hospital all upset about the lady's possible cancer, and all he could focus on was that Lenin was also there. He's making that immature pest Lenin look better all the time.

Loved Fanny's snarky response to Lenin's chiding her for the anglicismo. Get over yourself, dude. And also Edith's response when he was peeved at her for putting on a different look that wasn't "authentic". She pointed out that the goth look also didn't feel like her authentic self, just a disguise to serve a purpose. I wonder how many looks she will try out before she settles on something that feels right.

The book dropping was a cliche, but I didn't mind it in this case because Edith was deliberately trying to create a meet-cute. Why not go with a cliche? It's more eye-rolly to me when we're supposed to believe it just happened to happen. Nando was certainly unsettled by that encounter! I think it would be funny if he kept running into completely different versions of Edith in various places. I wonder how long it would take him to figure out they are all her. Which would be the first one he'd finally let himself fall for?

The braces thing was ridiculous. If they can get caught together, they can get uncaught by simply reversing whatever motion got them there, especially with a little guidance from someone who can see them, like Ana. No need to cut any wires. That just looked expensive to me! Not to mention those scenes must have been uncomfortable for the actors. I hope they didn't require too many takes. Standing there with your face attached to that dweeb Pablo would get old really fast!

Alicia is also annoying, but there's something all too realistic in the way the more she wants to be treated like an adult, the more she acts like a child.

Fernando should reverse-psychologize Alicia and act like he loves Pablo and praise whatever qualities he thinks Alicia would most detest. She'd dump him sooner rather than later.

The lady's name is Erika LOL,

Not only is upsetting the dental work likely expensive, but some braces wires are under pretty high stress, and if snipped, can spring out, cutting fairly deep into the inside of the cheek/lips.

Thank you, cathyx, for the recap!

Is Leon just allowed to leave the office on his first day of work? I guess it's a good thing to befriend the (former) president of the company.

Edith looked great, even though she wasn't completely comfortable with the style. I look forward to seeing her ultimate fashion choice.

Luz is a fantastic crier. Actually, all of the kids act well on this show.

Yay! Siete lives!

I never disliked Johnny too much until now--I missed the first couple weeks when this show started so watched first few episodes "on demand" the other day, and saw that Johnny cheated on Ana and acted like a scumbag in the VERY FIRST episode. Why is he allowed to hang around, and now it seems like he is always with Edna?

Edith told Fanny & Lenin at the hospital she used a lot of makeup to cover her tattoos.

I almost didn't recognize her either, though I had seen photos of the actress.

Leon looks and acts like a guy that is really desperate and has already lost. Fernando did give good advise, that Fanny is changing and he must also but Leon is limited and must be a father first. He should let Fanny go, it's done. She has the luxury of not needing to provide and can give freely of her time to others.

Though I applaud Lenin wanting to help, why not help with troubled or at risk boys instead of the girls. Edith & Fanny got that covered.

I totally missed how Leon got the job. Can anyone explain how?

Fernando used his contacts at the company and called the manager over the graphics art department, recommending Leon. Fernando said he will need to complete his degree however.

Siete was daydreaming about a girl dog of his type. He's not neutered or is that not a popular practice in Mexico?

If my guess is correct and it isn't, could we have another "puppies in jep" story like in UFCS?

Then I don't understand something. So Leon now has a job in the graphics department. He has a conversation with a woman who had his designs on her desk and he noticed that she was looking at them. She doesn't know who he is? and he tells her that he made those designs and he introduced himself. After their conversation, he walks over to the other side of the room and sits at his desk where his computer is?
What I don't understand is, why doesn't this woman know who he is if he got hired in her department, and he had a desk 10ft from her own? Who did she think he was sitting there all this time? Had she never even noticed him there before?

It was his first time there and she had never met him before. Not sure if Fernando spoke to her or to her boss to get him the job. I thought his first day was to be the next morning.

Thanks for the recap!!

Edith looked a lot better then I thought she would out of the makeup. I knew she would look nice but she looked prettier and thinner too... and I though black was supposed to be slimming!

I need something bad to happen to Isa soon bc shes annoying the hell out of me.

Dear Cathyx and other who filled in - thanks! Technology is our blessing and curse. I am off to replace my very old laptop today and am already feeling a big nostalgic for when it was simpler.

The image of Siete on the table with human-type apparatuses made me cringe. It was way too reminiscent of experiences with my little dogs over the years. No rat poisoning in our past, however, and thank goodness for that!

I hope that Edith, Nando, Ximena, Fanny, Leon and Lenin all remain friends at the end with no real commitments. Nando is in high school and only Leon is in his mid-20s. I understand that young people like true-love stories as much as the rest of us but there is so much of the world to see and so many things to do that too-early pairing up seems very old-fashioned and unwise.

I got a kick out of the braces story, despite myself. I love the way that Ana steps into the breach to solve problems. She is a great character in that way and good for this problem-filled family. I also get a kick out of the way that the younger kids sit as the chorus -- annoying but real-life. I never tried to fix a mechanical-type problem for one son that I didn't have the other, his friends and my niece observing and commenting.

cathyx, despite your troubles, you were still a life-saver in getting these details up. I didn't have trouble, at first with the episode at 8:00 her in NE Ohio, but suddenly at 8:30 the station just went dark. I switched to another channel and cable was fine, went back to Univision and there was a screen shot saying the station was offline. Figured something went wrong with getting ready for telethon stream.

Reading this, rather happy I missed the braces fiasco. First of all ridiculous that it even happened, second, I agree with Carlos, that is NOT the way to separate them. Honestly, one minute we get these PSA moments, the next we get some stupid plot point that if copied would be disastrous. Way to instruct the kids watching Osorio!

The scene with Siete on the table about did me in. I couldn't see them actually killing them off, those kids can't take that type cruelty this soon.

I rather like Edith's new look if she would just casual it up a tad more. I mean on a real college campus, the vast majority of girls are wearing jeans, cotton/chino type ankle pants or shorts in the warm weather. Find a look somewhere between the Goth and "trying to be Fanny" look. You know, realistic. I hope the game playing on Nando doesn't last long--just fess up who she is soon. He's been dealt enough with confusing relationships. She's had a tough life too- just have them find each other and be done. Rant over

Daisynjay

I agree; Edith should just wear ordinary jeans and sneakers until she figures out if she wants a different style. No need to hurt herself in heels or goop on tons of makeup if those aren't her real preferences.

I thought Leon already basically had the job based on Fer's recommendation. I didn'the think those were his own designs the manager was looking at. Maybe they were. He just told her which was better and why, she could see that he knew what he was talking about, and she told him he could start the next morning.

Julia you are right. They weren't León's designs. He just pointed out the better of the two and stated why.

About the link I posted. Yes, agreed. It is a minefield. Clicking the wrong link will install junk on your PC. For those brave enough (or crazy, as is my case) to go there, some tips:

1. You do NOT need to install anything to view the video. Absolutely refuse to install anything at all from this website.

2. A popup will display almost after every click, including pausing and resuming the video. Close the popup either by clicking the X on the page's tab or if the pop up opens a new window then click on the Window's X button located at the right. Do not click anything on the page.

3. In some cases, an ad or something displays over the page. Each of these has a secret well hidden X. That must be located and clicked o remove the screen junk. Don't click on the screen junk, it will open up another pop up. Worst case if the junk gets clicked: Close the pop up.

4. Some official looking message might display, indicating that that you need an app or driver or Java or Flash player or something funny-weird. All lies!

It is so sad for me to see the maliciousness of people trying to inflict pain on others. As you can see, we don't need the Isabellas and Enriques for this, we just need to venture a bit on the 'net.

Now I am off to watch epi 100, but not before I woge :-)

I think it was Leon's first day in the graphic arts dept and the two designs the woman was looking at were basically the same figure (either a label for a product or a new ad design) but with different color palettes... and he just pointed to her that she should choose (I believe he pointed at the one with mostly red colors rather than the one with blues) 'this one' because the colors popped out more for viewers. (or stte). it was not his own designs, it was similar designs with different colors and she needed to pick one out of the two.
Carlos, I too thought the rat poison effect on Siete was way too fast.

also in the first half, i remember Isa mentioning that Fer was searching for Soledad Fuentes to YoMama (with not much of a reaction from her this time) and that Isa was planning to find a way so that Ana would never find Soledad. Salvador, i too would guess she will play the role of 'Ana'.

Here is my translation from mex summary of first 1/2 ep from last friday.
Ana nags at León that his jealousy are going to send Fanny away further than bring her back. Ana tells him Fanny loves him and won't cheat on him.

Lenin and Fanny take the kids from las Mercedes to the mobile breast cancer screening unit. Érika, the director of la Casa de las Mercedes, tells the nurses she has felt/noticed something odd in her breast. The doctor at the mobile unit tells her that she might have cancer and needs more studies.

Fernando tells León about his first visit (very young) to the Costena factory and how he realized that everyone deserves a chance to fight for their dreams. Fernando tells Leon he talked to someone at the company and he is all set to start at the marketing graphics dept (Imagen Corporativa).

Manuela explains the 'theory' of the omnipresent. Ana notices something is odd in Siete's food plate. But Siete has already taken a few pieces and starts to faint. Ana recognizes it is rat poison (i guess she has used that before). Siete gets real ill almost instantly, turns over with his legs up and Ana and everyone race to take him to the vet hospital ASAP. Isabela, at her apt is telling her mom all about her plan to prevent Ana from ever finding her mom.
The vet doctor tells all the Lasc that Siete is very ill and was poisoned, with little chance to make it through. The kids get upset, esp the younger ones.

Edith, with a total makeover looking like a Fanny wanna-be (como niña fresa), runs into Nando and he is smitten by her looks and also by her liking of some of the subjects he likes. Edith tells him her name is Elisa. Edith is happy that Nando did not recognize her.

Isabela tries to guess Fernando's laptop password (keeps trying 'Estefania' but to no avail) but can't figure it out (Hey, there are stickers all around that say 'Mi (v) es tuyo' so why not try that or 'Fernando (v)'s Ana' you dumb witch?) ... (ok that line was mine).

Alicia asks Fernando if she can go back to the house to be with Pablo. Fernando says ok but with Bruno watching over them.

Fanny is with Érika and tries to support her while she gets her studies done (ultrasound).

OT: WE TV is producing a show called The Real Women of Telenovelas(!?)

Am I the only one bothered by Edith playing this trick on Nando?

It bugs me a little, too. It's not at the level of cruelty to what Ximena once did, but it is disrespectful.

ditto. you can have a makeover and be yourself. no need for her to use a fake name...

I agree; it's fun to dress differently and see if he recognizes her, but it isn't nice to lie and use a fake name. I don't understand why she was thrilled that he didn't know who she was. I would have thought it would make her happier if he saw through the superficial trappings and recognized her when they talked or after looking closely.

It would, however, be fun if Fanny turned the tables on Edith and got Nando to dress goth and go bump into Edith somewhere, just for fun and to see if she would recognize him...and if he would realize then where he'd seen Elisa before.

But I do think it's a good sign that he was reluctant to cozy up with Elisa too much because THREE women would be too many...just shows how seriously he's starting to take Edith! Buh-bye, Ximena; get well and stop being a jerk and find yourself someone nice in California.

I'm not bothered at all with the actual makeover to fool Nando unless she tries to get him to fall for this version. Nando and others react and understand the point she is trying to make. She is ready to move on and take off the goth mask. I still don't get both Ximena and Edith, university sophomores going for a naive (not nearly as much after Ximena got done with him, but still wet behind the ears) nerd still in high school.

I actually do understand it, at least in Edith's case. She was sexually assaulted. I get the impression she hasn't had any serious suitors, probably as a result of that. So dating-wise, she's more a peer of folks younger than herself. Nando probably feels safer to her than guys she meets at the university, specifically because he's younger and less experienced, plus he has the added bonus of being known to be sweet and sensitive. That would be very appealing to someone with trauma like Edith's. Plus, they connect very well with similar interests. So the fact that he's slightly younger (not even that much) wouldn't be very important to her.

I think Ximena was a little less noble in her affections toward Nando. She wanted to prove that someone would love her, because she couldn't find that anywhere else, not with her family, and not with all the randoms she was sleeping with. Nando was her only promising prospect. But then she could never appreciate what he offered her, both because of her illness and because she was bitchy aside from that.

Julia, that is a fair assessment of both girls

I agree. Also because Nando is intellectually advanced, has good manners, and will clean up to being a teen galan. In fact, I am not getting why Nando hasn't skipped a grade in school unless that's not done in Mexico.

UA, funny you say that about Nando because as I was writing my first post about him, I was wondering why he hasn't skipped.

Don't know how it is for boys but I skipped a grade and was younger than everyone and though you'd think it wouldn't make much difference, for me it did.

I would guess that if Nando hasn't skipped ahead, it was because his mother worried it would make things even harder for him socially. A lot of parents choose to keep their academically-advanced kids in classes with kids their own age for social/emotional development reasons.

My brother and sister-in-law didn't skip my nephew because his maturity level didn't match his intellect. He was younger than Nando at the time.

my mother, being a teacher herself, refused when my parents were offered that i skip a grade. my first daughter was also very smart at school and at some point i was offered and refused as well. i don't regret it one bit, as my mom doesn't either. it is hard enough coping with some issues of bullying and other things at school when you are younger, having the parents PUT you there intentionally is a tough call. different case is when the child is so advanced mentally that they NEED to be skipped to continue being challenged and not be killed of boredom.

great comparison on the girls, Julia.
i too agree that it not only has to do with academic maturity but emotional maturity and self-confidence/self-esteem have to be there too.

That's what happened to me. I was Sebas' age at the time.

Does anyone know how to get rid of a spam comment? I did it once before but I can't remember how to do it now.

You should see a little trash can icon at the bottom of each comment if you have admin rights. Those of us who don't can only delete our own comments.

If you're supposed to have admin rights and don't see the trash cans, then I'd guess there's something buggy happening with blogger.

Thanks Julia, that was easy.

Woo Hoo Fer banned Isabitch from the house

WTF why was goth bitch so angry with Nando?
