La Malquerida #62, 11/18/14: How Do You Solve a Problem Like Ulises?

Mexico Episode #68

The Old:
Cristina rips old Danilo a new one for secretly marrying young Alejandra, but reassures Ale that she is still beloved and welcomed. Acacia worries how poor Esteban will survive. Cris tells her he has the savings from his administrator salary, and a good head on his shoulders. Ulises rides into town on Juancho’s ass and hobbles to the Soto min-mart and calls Acacia, who had just dug his cross out of Este’s desk drawer and seemed to want to put it on.

The New:
Uli begs Acacia not to hang up, as she cries and curses him. He asks her to meet him in the town park. Back in the boondocks, Itzel and her grandma come back from picking herbs and find Uli gone, but a note left behind. He thanks them for everything they did for him, says he can’t keep putting them in danger (which hasn’t really changed since he sent a letter with their location in it!), and hopes to pay them back one day (if Dan’s goons haven’t killed them). Itzel cries and Grandma tells her not to worry.

Dan beats the snot and stuffing out of Memo and Patricio for letting Uli escape and live long enough to send a letter, and letting him see their faces (Memo points out only Pat’s face was seen). They need to get more men and find him! “It’s really important to find Ulises, because if he lives…” Ale runs out, in her new Dan-provided ramera-wear, and asks what the heck Dan is saying?! He clams up, and tells her to go back to their room where he told her to stay. Dan introduces her to Pat and Memo as his wife, who should be treated with respect, before he shoves her back to the bedroom. Memo makes the mistake of asking if she isn’t the infamous Turquesa, and nearly gets smacked again. Dan orders him never to mention it or that name again!

The Palacios, minus German, hang out in the home office gossiping about the Cris-Este breakup, and celebrating the fact that it will open the way to a Manuel-Acacia pairing, since Este was opposed to the match. Norberto orders Manuel to kiss up to Cris and Acacia, and (pretend like he can) be useful to them on the hacienda. Manuel makes the mistake of blabbing that Andres came looking for German at the cantina, and Norb automatically knows who sent him there. Before he and Juliana can really work themselves up into an epic fight, German joins the happy family scene and tells his beloved family that he’s sick of them all—sick of pretending everything is ok; sick of Norberto’s abusive ways; sick of Manuel being coddled and spoiled to the point that he can’t do anything for himself; and sick of his mother’s lies and hypocrisies. He’s leaving!

Cris arrives at Casa Palacios, looking fabulous in all black and a hot pink blazer, just as this scene has reached a crescendo. The Palacios men scatter, and Juliana sits Cris down to whine about how awful this all is for HER. She wants Cris to help her connect with Andres. She knows he’s never stopped loving her. Cris points out that: 1) Juli is a married woman; and 2) Andres is in a relationship with Carmen. Juli dismisses both of these things. Cris tells Juli that she needs to get her house in order, and not pin her happiness on a man. Her sons need her! As she’s leaving, Cris runs into German leaving with his suitcase, and offers him refuge in the Benavente until he decides what he wants to do next. He hugs her and accepts. Norberto is happy with this arrangement and gives his blessing.

Danilo calls Norberto and gives him the latest Uli update, and presses the urgency of finding him and getting rid of him.

Manuel goes to Benavente to see Acacia and learns from Rosa she went to town. Rosa once again orders him to leave Luisa alone and not look for her. Why does he insist on hurting her granddaughter? Manuel replies that it’s their business, not hers, and that he’s been very clear with Luisa. It’s her Rosa should speak to and be keeping an eye on.

In the small town park, Uli waits with great anticipation on a bench, his branch crutch beside him. Acacia, whose penchant for bright red has spread from her lipstick to her wardrobe, approaches. They pause to look at each other—he with love and joy at the long awaited reunion, and she with anguish and a myriad of unanswered questions. They don’t notice that Memo and Patricio have spotted them and have trained pistols at them from numerous angles in the park, waiting for the right moment to take Uli out, and Acacia too if they have to. Acacia and Uli speak. She gets angry when he greets her with words of love and slaps him! He’s confused. She accuses him of running off with Nuria. He vehemently denies it. Just as he’s trying to explain his ordeals, and the thugs take aim, a police car pulls up with its lights blazing. Memo and Pat take off. The cops, with the shopkeeper (Lizzy’s dad) pointing the way, run up to Uli. The cops handcuff poor Uli, hurting his already injured arm, and drag him to the police car despite his protests that he did nothing wrong. Acacia watches and cries.

Dan takes Ale to Benavente to get her things. Rosa looks on stonyfaced as Ale has to endure being “tickled” by Dan, and pretend to like it. Rosa doesn’t allow him to accompany Ale to the bedroom, and instead banishes him to the office to wait. Meanwhile, Cris and German arrive in the kitchen just in time to hear Rubio order around two of the workers and tell them that HE’s the boss now, with the power to decide who stays and who goes. Cris lets them all know that SHE’s the one who decides who stays and who goes—got that Rubio?

In her old bedroom, Ale gets Carlitos' drawing and says she’s not yet defeated. She makes a new vow, to either find the proof to send Dan to jail, or kill him! Rosa comes in and wonders how Ale could disrespect their home by getting married like this, when they accepted her as one of their own. Ale assures Rosa that she respects and loves them, and Rosa doesn’t know what she would do for them (marry her pimp/rapist, and maybe even kill him). After packing her small bag, Ale decides not to take her therapy journal with her, and instead wraps it in paper and hides it under a pair of shoes in a shoe box.

Acacia runs into Este in the park in town. She’s crying about Uli and begs Este to take her to the jail to see him. She thinks she should go and hear his side of the story. Esteban is NOT happy to hear this. He convinces Acacia that Uli is lying about the letter; that he did run off with Nuria; and probably got in trouble with his shady associates who left him in a bad state. Acacia decides Este is right and changes her mind about seeing Uli. But she refuses Este’s offer to take her home, even after he tenderly wipes a tear from her cheek and steps into her personal space. She scolds him for not even asking about Cris and leaves.

Lizzy’s dad tells her he called the popo on Ulises. She tells him that German thinks Uli is innocent. Dad doesn’t agree, and doesn’t like the idea of her dating someone who’s friends with a criminal. Lizzy calls German and leaves a message about Uli’s arrest.

Rosa quietly tells Cris about Dan waiting in the office, without letting German know about it. Cris is not pleased with the visitor. There was some sort of weird skip in the broadcast, but from what I gather, Cris overheard Dan speaking to one of his henchies on the phone about not letting Uli escape, and wants to know what he’s talking about. Dan covers up by saying he wants Uli to stay in jail and pay for the crime he committed against him by defrauding him. Cris is surprised to hear Uli’s back in El Soto, and agrees he should pay for his crimes. She realizes she needs to speak to Acacia right away.

Before he slithers away, Cris makes it clear to Danilo that she’s still not pleased about how he married Ale, that she sees Ale as another daughter, and she WILL be checking up on her. Danilo tries to lay on the slimy charm, and hands Cris his card with the house (of ill repute) address.

Ale and German meet unexpectedly in the living room. German asks her if Dan’s money was that important to her. Up till yesterday, he still had the hope that they could be together and go far from here. Now, he wants to confront Dan, and…Ale stops him and begs him NOT to confront Dan. German agrees. It’s not worth it. All he feels for her now is pity!

Before she leaves, Ale gives Rosa the shoebox and asks her to keep it safe for her. She also asks her to keep calling her Alejandra, not Señora. When Cris comes in, Ale tells her that if she could turn back time, she would do this all differently. Cris is loving and gracious as always, and lets Ale know she’s like a daughter to her and the doors are always open. She knows that the young often make mistakes—she hopes that this marriage isn’t a mistake and that Ale will be happy. Rosa listens with concern.

As they are leaving, Dan wonders why Ale didn’t take the painting German did of her—or would it be too painful of a reminder of her little painter boy? While Dan has a side chat with Rubio about Uli’s reappearance, Ale spots German trying to clear his head next to a tree. He turns, they lock eyes, and he watches with pain written all over his face as she and Dan walk out of Benavente.

Manuel finds Acacia still wandering around town crying about Uli, but not doing anything about it. He tells her the same stuff that Este did, but then says he’ll go with her to the police station, if that’s what she wants. Acacia thanks him, and changes her mind again. “This is Uli’s problem. He’s a liar. Take me home.”

The person who does show up at the police station, while Uli is being booked, is Esteban. He starts yelling at Uli about defrauding everyone, hurting Acacia, and running off with Nuria (when the jerk knows he was kidnapped!).

Meanwhile, the news of Uli’s return is spreading quickly, except to the people who would want to help him. After seeing Acacia return to Benavente arm in arm with Manuel, Luisa refuses to shut up long enough for Acacia to tell her about Uli’s return. Instead she mouths off about intending to leave Benavente soon, not testifying against Uli, and telling Acacia what a lousy, disloyal friend she is.

Manuel calls Norb wondering what they are going to do about this Uli problem, but Norb tells him to let him worry about that. Manuel’s job is to stick to Acacia like glue and make sure she and Uli don’t get to talk. Norb and Dan meet and talk about the Uli problem. Norb is sure Uli can’t pin the kidnapping on him, but he wants him permanently out of the way to clear the way for a Palacios eventually owning Benavente. Dan likes this plan, and seems to want a piece of the Benavente action in exchange for offing poor Ulises.

Upstairs, Ale unpacks in the master bedroom. Perla comes in to lament her loss of status as Dan’s Number 1. Ale once again urges Perla to join her in taking Dan down. She tries to convince Perla that she could have a better life—Dan doesn’t love her. “Because you’re around!” Ale says that he only wants her because he’s never been able to control her—she’s just a whim for him. He only loves himself. Perla refuses to go against Dan or accept that she’s also one of his victims. “I love him.” Perla says she hates Ale and will make her life a living hell for stealing Dan’s love from her.

Seems that Acacia finally picked up the phone and called someone. Arturo shares the news about Uli with Carmen after getting off the phone with Acacia. He wants to call the lawyer and Andres. Carmen puts on an attitude about Andres, but tells Art to do whatever he wants. They leave for the police station.

German settles into Ale’s old bedroom and laments to Manuel that she didn’t even bother to take the Sacred Heart painting. He assures Manuel that he will always be his brother and friend, but his parents are another matter.

Rubio is still trying to pull rank with the hacienda workers, who seem less worried and slightly bemused after hearing Cris put Rubio in his place. Esteban walks up, and Rubio worries for a second that he’s already lost the King of the Hacienda crown. Este just wants to talk about the Uli problem. Este’s upset to have learned (from Uli's statement to the police) that the kidnappers weren’t just ordinary kidnappers, but DRUG TRAFFICKING kidnappers. (Because that changes everything.) He hopes Rubio wasn’t stupid enough to get mixed up with drug traffickers. Rubio denies it. He only works for Este-- and to prove it, he’ll give Este a letter from Uli that he intercepted.

Hey, it’s Hector! He shows up at Benavente, and Acacia goes off on him for causing Esteban to leave her mother. This is news to him, and NOT what he wanted or intended. He already told Esteban what happened. Acacia says that Esteban still doesn’t understand what happened between Cris and Hector. “He doesn’t understand, or he doesn’t WANT to understand?” He thinks Esteban is exaggerating things and being unjust to Cris. Cris even cancelled her art show. Hector has brought back the art pieces. If he were in Esteban’s shoes, he would have reconciled with Cris already. Acacia tries to justify Este’s behavior by saying he’s very jealous. “Not jealous enough to not leave your mother all alone. Don’t you realize, Acacia, that there’s something else going on here? A solid relationship, full of love, can’t fall apart because of a simple misunderstanding.”

Avances: Acacia bugs Alonso in his tomb (drink!); Esteban decides to pursue Acacia; Cris announces that she’s pregnant!

Oh Vivi, what a great title! Your detailed, sweet, savory recap was remarkable.

"Norberto orders Manuel to kiss up to Cris and Acacia, and (pretend like he can) be useful to them on the hacienda"; "Acacia, whose penchant for bright red has spread from her lipstick to her wardrobe..." and "They pause to look at each other—he with love and joy at the long awaited reunion, and she with anguish and a myriad of unanswered questions (beautifully phrased) were among my favorites.

I am glad Uli is in jail. It is the only place he is safe.

Strong women were on display last night. Ale, who could long ago have become bent and broken has revolved that all is not lost and instead of shutting down (which would have been perfectly understandable having to marry Danilo), is making a plan. Utterly alone.

"Cris tells Juli that she needs to get her house in order, and not pin her happiness on a man". Cris is my hero. Devoid of self pity, she encompasses a lovely but steely mix of strength and determination.

And God bless Hector whose appearance could not have come at a better time. A wise and insightful man. I am so glad he spoke plainly to Acacia and giving her some food for thought as she obviously hasn't digested that she has been a treacherous daughter. If that sounds harsh, I stand behind it.

And of course, the huge news is that Cris is pregnant. I cannot wait to see how the news will be received and what will transpire. Will lust be lessened and will Este and Acacia show some decency and stay away from each other?

I fear not...

Vivi, thank you, thank you.

Diana

Wow Vivi, your word pictures awesome.

"Rosa looks on stonyfaced as Ale has to endure being “tickled” by Dan, and pretend to like it."

"In the small town park, Uli waits with great anticipation on a bench, his branch crutch beside him."

Fooie, I had hoped Perla would assist and not crazy Ale thought she might. Just concerned whom may read that journal she left with Rosa.

While what Hector said needed saying to Acacia, Hector just showing up (though invited by Cris) to me a continued show of disrespect for Cris & Esteban's relationship. He acts high and mighty but he is playing the same game, awaiting his shot, looking for a crack in the relationship to exploit.

Carmen continues to disappoint, no take that back, I can't be surprised when someones eyes constantly roll around in their head like marbles.

I think less of Cris to even waste her day listening to Juliana.

Thanks Vivi. Hope you had a good day at work. Thanks for posting so quickly. We saw another very interesting epi tonight. Loved your recap, especially "Hey it's Hector." Like we were right there. Boy, did he manage to back Aca off with the truth!

Morning all! Have to run, but thanks for the nice early comments.

Uli was saved by the cops, but I'm not sure he'll be safe if he gets transferred from the jail to prison, where I'm sure Dan has connections.

I'm eager to see how tonight's pregnancy news shakes things up.

Diana- can you recap tonight's epi? I'll schedule a discussion page to be posted. Remember, there are no shows this Thursday.

Vivi, yes, I had planned to recap tonight.

Kindly post the link later and I will be set!

Diana

I just read yesterday's comments and was blown away by everyone's insights.

"How ironic that Luisa and Ale would have given their eyeteeth to have had an understanding mother like Cris, but Acacia is (almost) screwing her dear mother over". Oh my, Niecie, you nailed that!

And yes, to Vivi and everyone who has expressed mystification over everyone seemingly not being able to "read" Ale, I totally agree. I guess she just flashes that sweeet, lopsided grin and everyone assumes she is fine. Sigh.

Diana

Good comments, Diana. "....that Acacia is treacherous daughter." I stand behind that too!! Yes Uli safer in jail. Boggles me how such a nice guy, who only worked hard, didnt curse, lie, cheat or hang at cantina ended up with so many enemies who want him dead!! Poor Uli, it never occured to him for one second that Aca would think he had run off w Nuria. He thought she would be happy to see him alive. She acted just like I imagined. She has no trust or faith in her man. Shoot who needs a wife like that? I dont care that it was because everyone convinced her. She knew him, she knew he was not a liar, she knew his good character. But her ego came first. He deserves a good faithful woman who will stand by him because she KNOWS he would not commit fraud and run off w other woman. I bet Utzi would be woman lke that. And she hasnt known him that long. Booo to Acacia, I approve and stand by my boo.

Vivi..thanks for that wonderful and detailed recap.

I hate Estekiller, and I am so glad that Hector is on the scene spelling things out for clueless Ack. Ack seems to be moving away from Stepdad. Yay, Hector...save the day.

Who knew that Este was actually worse than slimy Damnilo !!! Has Dam Dan killed anyone ? Well, he was responsible for Ale's brother's death by lack of health care. However, Este purposely dropped that Boulder on poor gorgeous Alonso. Miserable wretch.

Novella Lover, ITA. It's incredible that Uli is where he is.

And again, no matter what she thought Uli did, Acacia saw that he was gravely injured. How could she not run to him?

Couldn't she have hugged and consoled first, and asked questions later?

She is always willing to believe the worst - if you love someone, you could at least hear them out.

If it weren't for Acacia's love and support of Ale, I would be dismissing her alltogether now. Grrr.

Diana

It is inconvenient for Acacia to believe Ulises. Right now she has two men in pursuit and she needs an open wound. Worthless Manuel, but an ego boost nonetheless, and her stepdaddy.

Well, 3 of my comments have disappeared. I loved this recap, VIvi. I hate Estekiller. Go, Hector. Buy a vowel , get a clue, Ack. Cris is my hero, too.

Making herself the injured party, has always been Acacia's MO in her relationship with Uli. Remember how her coming late to HIS big important event became all about how HE hurt HER by taking a photo with Nuria? Of course she would still hold on to all her rage and resentment, even as she sees that he's badly injured. Look, this is the man who ran into a burning building, TWICE, to save your life and the life of your worthless BFF/rebound guy. That makes it worth stopping to ask if he needs some medical attention when you see him hopping, wincing, and limping in pain. All the other drama can wait till later.

Susanlynn- So sorry blogger is eating all your comments. I'm at work so can't keep a close eye on the blog today.

Vivi..it's okay. I will keep trying. Hope that you are having a good day. Don't overdo.

Vivi, I'm still reeling from Acacia's inaction/reaction to Uli.

Yes, she definitely is always the injured party.

And letting Estekiller (good one Susanlynn) spew poison in her ear (yet again), and never willing to give Uli the benefit of any doubt is mind blowing.

Uli, take heed. You deserve SO much better. Who supported you and cared about you and didn't even know you, despite her being in a far more dire position? Who didn't abandon you but helped heal you? It appears we need to remind you. Itzel. Remember???

Diana

I worry bout Izel and he did say in the letter he would return to offer an appropriate thank you. Just hope his dark cloud doesn't follow.

Acacia is a pampered spoiled princess and I shudder to think about the plan to hook she and Manuel up so Norberto has control of the farm. The two of those kids together, well we know where the likes of Rubio are spawned.

tofie, I am worried too.

Hopefully, now that know Uli is in jail, Danilo's thoughts will be directed there rather than exacting revenge on Itzel and her grandmother.

Diana

We were led to believe that Estemasked was a good guy lusting after his stepdaughter. Now that we know he killed Alonso,he is a villain in the same category as sleazy, creepy Damnilo.

Will Dam and Este join forces against poor Uli ?

Dan & Norberto already have but think Esteban more subtle and will work it alone (with assistance from Rubio)

I thought it interesting that yesterday Acacia was caressing Este's jacket, and today she was fondling Uli's cross, and seemed all set to take of Este's and put Uli's on, until Uli called.

Also interesting that she was still trying to convince herself that the reason Este left Cris was because of Hector, but Hector's words have pointed the finger right back at her, where it belongs.

Acacia is trying to make what she feels for Esteban his fault alone and take no responsibility. This isn't love she feels for Esteban so she needs to confront that.

Yes, Hector is the truth sayer, but can he convince Ack and open her eyes ?

I am so sick of Estekiller's sad puppy face. What a weak and selfish guy. Yuck

As to first loves reuniting, last weekend, I went to my nephew's wedding. He married a girl he knew as a teen. Second wedding for him.

A few times now Norberto and Rubio have questioned Dan about how he intends to hide his shady biz from Ale as he woos her. They've asked him point black if she knows about his shady biz. He denies it every time. He doesn't want Memo to even mention that Ale was once Turquesa, one of his "girls."

I'm happy that Norb and Rubio don't know this about Ale's past (especially Norb since he was Ale's first client when she was 13), because I can see them making all kinds of nasty comments to her. But I wonder why Dan cares? Is he ashamed to admit that he couldn't woo a nice, sweet, pretty girl to marry him all on his own, if it weren't with the use of violence/threats and for the fact that he "owns" her?

Vivi..I think that Damnilo thinks that a nice wife and a three piece suit will make him a gentleman..hahaha.

I guess it shouldn't surprise me that he's trying to keep Ale's real link to him hush hush from his cronies and henchies. He did try to convince Ale that he had gone legit too, until she found out the truth for herself. Of course, he also knows that she would try to take him down if she found evidence, and that she made that anonymous call to the cops about the house being a brothel.

Thank you Vivi---What great writing. I think that if I bought a book from all of Caray's great recappers, I'd go broke. Vivi, you really brought out the story and what a story I might add. Wow!
It's good. Where is this all going

Some of you writing that jumped out at me today and I emphasize some.
Norberto orders Manuel to kiss up to Cris and Acacia and (pretend like he can) be useful to them on the hacienda.

She scolds him for not even asking about Cris. Gringo thinks that Este can't get the bikini down by the river out of his mind.

Danilo hands Cris his card with the house (of ill repute) address.

Esteban walks up and Rubio worries for a second that he's already lost the King of the Hacienda crown. King Rubio LOL.

I don't know about you guys but I liked it when Luisa gave Acacia an earful last night. Maybe that will help to bring Acacia out of her deep sleep and help to get her thinking a little.

Yes strong women---Cris for sure. I would not have considered Alejandra to be strong. Ale is always shaking with fear but is turning out to be one tough lady.
For sure Acacia will not make the strong woman list. That is not unless she goes through a big transformation.

And talking about Acacia's reaction to Ulises. It didn't surprise me. After all she has been brainwashed by more than one person and she isn't of strong character so I can understand her reaction last night. I wasn't surprised.

So Manuel is going to take her to see Uli in jail where he/Manuel can say liar to everything that Ulises says. That for sure will help turn young head full of mush Acacia even more against Ulises than she already is.

Diana---Lets take a survey. Cris is pregnant. Will lust be lessoned or not. Gringo votes that lust of the young goddess will not be lessened.

Ales journal---My guess is that it won't get read until close to the novela's end.

Another must see tonight. Alonzo can't get any rest, Estebone goes after the bikini goddess and Cris is pregnant. Could there be anything else?
the gringo.

Thank Gringo!

I don't consider showing fear to be a sign of weakness. Ale has been in some REALLY scary/traumatic situations for over a decade, and continues to be. Even when she was in her most traumatized/shaky mode I considered Ale to be strong because no matter how bad things are for her, she always has the capacity to give and show love, concern, and support for others. Unlike Acacia, she hardly ever falls into a woe is me/poor me mode.

gringo, I don't know.

Este hasn't been deterred by the fact he wants his wife's daughter. But, a child? I know he will still want Acacia but will he continue to pursue her? I'm on the fence. His obsession with Acacia has led him to leave the wife he once adored. Of course, I really don't care what he does because he is a murdering, lying so and so. I want him disgraced, homeless and out of the picture.

I know Cris will love her child - Este is irrelevant. Having Cris end up with Hector would be wonderful. Not because she needs a man but I think they are are in truth, the perfect match.

Diana

I do not think that the child will stop Este . He killed for the hacienda and Cris. Now he wants Ack. He is a predator.

Good comments both Vivi and Diana

I really understand your feelings
Diana about Estekiller. I'm sick of that guy myself, what a twisted mess. Acacia? Yes she is a goddess in her bikini down by the river but I am feeling about her the way that you are about Esteban. No, she isn't a killer but she is a twisted mess also. I'm sure that Acacia will change before the novela ends but for now
the beautiful body in a bikini isn't enough to make me care about her. I am more concerned about Alejandra and even spurned
Luisa than Acacia. Itzel? Yes I really care and am concerned for her and her mother. They are good people and don't deserve what may be heading their way.
the gringo

Vivi – Fantastic recap. I hope you’re still feeling good after the first day back at work. You had so many zingers, but these are my favorites:

Before he and Juliana can really work themselves up into an epic fight, German joins the happy family scene

Acacia, whose penchant for bright red has spread from her lipstick to her wardrobe,

Manuel finds Acacia still wandering around town crying about Uli, but not doing anything about it.

Este’s upset to have learned (from Uli's statement to the police) that the kidnappers weren’t just ordinary kidnappers, but DRUG TRAFFICKING kidnappers. (Because that changes everything.)

Danilo and Norb are bad guys who at least know they are bad guys, but Esteban has the gall to walk around thinking he’s got high standards.

I’m on Team Itzel and Team Lizzy. Hope Uli can deliver on his promise to check on Medicine Girl. I like how Lizzy simply picked up the phone and called German to let him know his friend Uli is back, despite her dad challenging her. Acacia, this is how you do it.

Did not expect to see Memo and Patricio so battered. Those dummies need to find a better line of work. They are definitely not slick like Rubio.

Yay, Ale’s been writing a therapy journal! Who will discover it? Rosa? I hope it's not till últimos capítulos.

Yay, Uli’s stolen letter can be found on Esteban and its copy on Danilo! I vote Ale discovers the one on Danilo.

Gringo, Luisa is going off the deep end calling Acacia traicionera for the kiss with Manuel, but I get a kick out of her saying that Acacia isn’t the innocent sweetheart everybody thinks she is. I can only imagine how wide Luisa’s eyes will grow if she finds out her old amiga even tongue-kissed her own stepdad.

I'm trying to remember Acacia is only 18-19. She should talk to Ale -- sorry girl, you've got a COLOSSAL PROBLEM of your own but you're the only suitable one -- about her feelings for Esteban.

Vivi, Maybe the scene got cut by Univision but I didn’t think that Ale actually had sex with Norb as a child prostitute. I remember they saw each other from across the room when Danilo introduced her as a new girl. Either way, thankfully Norb didn’t focus on her face.

Ale has been strong enough to endure years of abuse by Damnilo and being used by many men.

No one gave mention to my comment yesterday or the day before about JC's silence or near silence over Cris' tears. He sure jumped on Ulises for hurting poor spoiled Acacia but now with Cris in tears and her mirage crumbling, JC is remarkably silent. I was surprised at that.

I have this bad feeling about Itzel and her mother. They are not main characters in the story so my fear is that they may be killed to quiet any testimony that could be forthcoming.

Susanlynn---Did I see yet another new name for Esteban today?
the gringo

Niecie- Oh, I'm so glad that Norbie didn't do the deed with young Ale. That was back when I was too grossed out to watch, and when I saw young Ale presented to Norbie, I changed the channel.

Gringo- I think that JC may instinctively know that Cris doesn't like anyone in her business and can take care of herself.

I too am very worried about Itzel and her grandma. Uli's letter mentioned where he was hiding and I don't think Dan will want any loose ends, even though he now knows where Uli is.

I'd bet money Norberto has had every thing that breaths Pimp Danny has marched in front of him, both are slimeballs and don't have a conscience.

I think Esteban does have a conscience and the difference. What is unclear to me is will that conscience check him or will he throw everything away knowing he is already damned. He murders for love, yet a good husband to Cris till recently, he is ok with a kidnapping but not those associated with drug traffickers, he lust after and pursues his step daughter but protects Ale and he the one Danny was most worried about. I like him as a character because he is not totally a Pimp Danny type slimeball and has done some admirable things so keeps me guessing. We'll see how he takes a Cris pregnancy.

I just can't force myself to like Hector.

Esteban keeps visiting Alonso in his tomb, so I suppose he does have a conscience. But he's so damn self-centered to bother someone he murdered. Acacia at least has a right to visit there.

Does anyone know time and channel for LM in Florida??my friend there wants to watch. Thanks!

Novella lover- Does your friend have cable? I think the channels are different based on company. A quick internet search says that Univision is on channel 23 in Miami. Not sure if that's the case through the whole state. It's on 10pm EST.

Thanks Vivi, you do know everything!!!

Hope you are doing well at work, it takes a bit to get back into swing of things after being out for awhile.
