Mi Corazon Es Tuyo #72, 28 Oct 2014... Sibling Wars VIII Return of Don Hielo!! ... Ximena flips again... Isa doesn't need to feed guilt trip/thorn on Ana.. Ana is feeding it all by herself.

Refritos:

Fanny tells Marga and Reina need proof to go against Reeky.

Fernando and Tomas… regret the decision of marrying Isa.

Repeat of confrontation Isa and Ana in hallway. (I want that laundry basket!) ow ow ow!!!

(is it me or is there way more than average yelling in this house considering there are 3 kids under 10? Then again there is a whole crowd there, isn’t there?)

Kids eavesdrop:

Isa : what if I lose the baby?

YoM: Ay cancela! Cancela! Like Ana says

Isa: shut up! What is going on?

YoM: you see and don’t see!

Isa: What are you talking about?

YoM: what the Doctor said!

Isa: what, mom!!

YoM: that issue that vello cariaco could harm your son!

Isa: Vello Carionico, mom.

YoM: and all because of your curiosity! Remember curiosity killed the cat, and in this case, the baby too.

Isa: shut up, Mom. And for whatever you care about the most (por lo que mas quieras), don’t tell anyone about this.

Manu, Bruno and Ana in kitchen. Ana tells them the story of the confrontation with Isa.

Lo Nuevo:

Johnny and another one of his not-so-funny comic relief 30 second skid recording… (he has the Cantinflas style little tiny mustache lines)

Doctor warns Isa that the paternity test… (Ana is approaching in the halway and is about to eavesdrop on the punchline but the twins come and scare a yell out of them. YoMama notices and Ana has to go away. Ana and the twins talk about her lecturing them about eavesdropping on other’s chats.

Isa tries to convince Doctor to lie to Fernando… Isa and YoMama say it’s a little white lie (mentirita piadosa) … Doctor not so easy to convince. Isa did get anxious… YoMama tells Doc that is normal for Isa. Isa tries to convince Doc to tell Fernando that her delicate condition and the baby’s life threat is due to her confrontation with Ana.

Fernando arrives home. Ana tells him the story of what happened. Ana even gets excited with her story. Fernando has to lift his hands up to stop her swing… ok, ok..i get it. Fernando asks Ana why look for trouble with Isa. Ana says she only defended herself. She is human after all, and ‘that woman who stole my guitar and my love…’ (Fernando catches her mid sentence but she won’t repeat what Isa ‘stole’ from her…) Fernando and Ana go upstairs. Just then YoMama tries to give Fernando the other side of the story from HER view. YoMama sends Ana to get Bruno to go on a drug store errand for Isa’s meds. Fernando asks YoMama how is Isa… ‘bad (or actually it would translate to delicate)… very delicate’.

Bruno hears from Manuela that she is afraid he is ‘desahuciado’ (has a terminal illness and little time to live)

Diego arrives at the store where the guitar was bought. Diego tells the owner the story. We’re in luck, the guy has had the store himself for the last 50 yrs.

Ana tells Bruno about the errand… Isa is delicate.

At Televisa, Johnny finally got paid and is jumping for joy. He even kisses Silvia Pinal’s picture on the wall. Meanwhile Edna arrives to see Ino-Doroteo to ask for a job… Ino-Doro examines the merchandise.

Fanny goes to Reeky’s office to rant at him for destroying Margarita’s stand at the school. Reeky plays innocent… then repeats to her Leon is insignificant, just another employee. Then he offers to write her a check for Leon and his mom… how much is that stand worth? ‘what do you care? … Leon won’t accept your money!’ Reeky rants that he already lost her job ‘for your sake!’ Fanny warns him that if he messes with Leon again he will have to deal with her. She leaves. We hear ‘I like you more when you get angry’ from Reeky, with a wicked smile.

Doctor tells Fernando Isa is very delicate, but stable. Gives Fernando the prescription of the meds to take. Fernando asks what caused the crisis… Stress and anger. She mentions she had a strong argument a while back. It is very important she is calm, with no alterating circumstances and with no anger episodes.

Ana is at Alicia’s bed with her, and Alicia is mad at her and everyone else who is against Isa… FF>> ‘you talking to me??’ ‘ yo tengo un BIG HEART’. And hate does not fit in this ‘BIG HEART’. If she can’t stand me it is HER problem. But I am good with myself. Really, Lichita, this is a ‘BIG HEART’. Don’t be bad (to me).

Fernando asks Doctor if his child is alright. Doctor says ‘won’t lie to you, there is a very high risk that your wife will lose her baby’. Ana has heard this from the halway… she gets upset/worried. She prays to God that nothing happen to that baby. Won’t be able to forgive myself.

Isa is visibly faking being upset… Once the men leave, YoMama pinches her on the feet… ‘all for your curiosity’. ‘you already said that Yola. We have to find a way to get benefit of this situation.’ ‘Things would be different if you were not mother of Fernando’s 8th kid… you know how much Moolah we can get out of him for this?’

Ana calls Diego. He is still at the store, he notices she is upset. He asks her to give him an hour. She asks he not to take long. Diego glad the store owner has all records of the last 50 years worth of sales.

Ana and Nando… he is concerned Ximena is now jealous of Laura. He tells Ana that he is not interested in Laura, but she is in him. Ana plays with him a bit. ‘with friends like that, Ximena doesn’t need enemies’. Meanwhile Laura at home gets a letter from the college that they are revoking her scholarship effective next month.’ She rips the letter and yells angry ‘It can’t be!! It can’t be!! No!!!’

Manuela still upset and asks Bruno how long he has left to live. He asks her who told her he was terminally ill? (Fernando has heard this on his way in the kitchen and gets Manuela to throw herself to him crying). Fernando gets anxious and asks Bruno what is wrong. Between Manuela crying on top of him and Fernando asking questions nonstop, Bruno has no chance to clarify or explain anything to them. Bruno has to go answer the door… Fernando asks Manuela how she found out. Ana told me.

The store owner brings down a very dusty box where he claims are all his records since `1960’. (this guy must not have lots of sales monthly if one box is enough to hold records for 50 years worth!)

Ana is doing homework with the 4 younger kids… the twins and Sebas find out Ana’s guitar disappeared. Twins want to go find it right away (any excuse to skip homework) but Ana won’t let them go anywhere before they do homework (the guitar disappeared but your brain is still glued to you all).

Ana is visibly upset about all that is going on.

The twins and Sebas talk about how much money they need to buy a guitar for Ana… but they have very little money between all of them (including Luz, they say Nando is too hard to get to give money) so they decide they will ask Fernando for help.

IT was Laura at the door. She asks for Nando. In his room. Meanwhile Ximena and Nando are on video chat. Laura comes in and throws herself right on Nando. Ximena gets instantly out of control on the other side of the chat. Ximena starts yelling insults to Laura on the video. Laura says she is desperate needing support. Ximena won’t swallow any excuse. Nando asks Laura to leave. Ximena threatens Laura before she can leave Nando’s room.

Manuela explains to Fernando she at first thought Bruno was unfaithful to her with a nurse… Luz comes in running (with Bruno) to ask Fernando for money for a surprise for Ana. Bruno says we can talk later.

Ana and Fanny in Ana’s room… Fanny tries to convince Ana what happened is not her fault. But to no avail Ana has the guilt bug bad. Ana is nervous biting her nails.

Fernando thinks it is very nice what the kids are trying to do for Ana. He at first seems to not agree but then jumps ‘of course I will give you the money’ The kids yell/sing ‘Oleeeee olee oleee oleeeeeee… Papaaaaaaaaa Papaaaaaaa!!’ (Fernando yells ‘Lascurain!’) ‘Oleeeee olee oleee oleeeeeee… Papaaaaaaaaa Papaaaaaaa!!’ (Fernando yells ‘Lascurain!’) (that was cute… he looks so happy when he is with them)

Reeky gets a phone call… seems his dad got very ill and was taken to the hospital. He is about to cry (Recapper not sure if he is faking or not… doesn’t look like it)

Diego arrives at the house. He notices Bruno doesn’t look good. Bruno confirms. Fernando comes down and is miffed (our Don Hielo is back!!) Fernando demands that Diego not come see Ana at the house when Ana is in her work hours. Diego basically mocks him ‘that’s too bad’ and tries to go around Fernando up the stairs but Fernando says he is not kidding. They argue back and forth ‘come up with something more original!... using Ana’s job as excuse to not let me see her… remember what you promised me!... ‘ Fernando won’t bulge but Diego warns ‘I will keep seeing Ana’… ‘but outside the house!’ (I wonder if these brothers interacted the same way even before their mom died’.

Fanny tells Ana that someone trashed Margarita’s stand at the school. Leon says it was Reeky. Ana agrees with Leon’ that Reeky is obsessed with her. Fanny tells her she talked to Reeky and that he offered her the check… Ana suggests Fanny talk to Fernando… No, because there is no proof other than Leon’s word.

Reeky asks Betty if Fernando is there, he has to run to the hospital. She offers anything she can do. Just let Fernando know.

Fanny asks Ana what she thinks Isa did with her guitar… no idea. It is like with the Leon story, I have no proof either. Ximena calls Fanny upset to tell her about Laura… and calls her ‘trepadora’ and yells she will destroy Laura. Fanny runs over to Nando’s room to get more details. Ana can’t follow her because Diego calls her to come out of the house without letting Fernando know.

Fernando at the office gets a call from Reeky begging him to come support him, his dad is dying at the hospital and don’t have anyone else. Please my friend, I need you. Fernando falls in the trap and says he is coming.

Bruno comes in, he clears up to Fernando that he is not fatally ill at all. Fernando happy hugs him, but can tell Bruno does still hold a secret from him, he can see it. Ana heads outside while we hear Fernando and Bruno still… Bruno runs to find out why Ana believed he was fatally ill. Fernando also heads out.

Diego tells Ana what happened with him and Fer. That he was a hair from hitting Fernando. Ana very surprised about what Fernando told Diego. Then Diego tells Ana about what he got with the store owner… they will get some clues about her mom. Ana so happy she hugs Diego very lovingly just as Fernando comes out and is not a happy camper. He immediately starts round two of the argument with Diego there, mocking asking Diego if he has a problem with enunciation. Fernando also addresses Ana to not deal with her private life in her work hours ‘didn’t read the small print’. ‘so you are saying I am just an employee’. She complains she can’t walk far with her high heals… he wants Ana and Diego to meet outside the ‘hectarea’ (basically the property, not just the house). Diego tells Fernando in his face that he is coming up with lecture about her work hours ‘because he is dying of jealousy’. Ana steps in between them before the water gets choppier and gets Fernando to head to the car. As he gets in the car Fernando asks himself if it shows so easily (that he is jealous). As Fernando’s car leaves, Johnny comes in to say hi to Ana and Diego.

Fernando arrives at the hospital. He came because Reeky said he had no other support. Anything we can do? ‘if my dad dies… if my hero dies… ‘ ‘don’t say that’. ‘ I will be all alone’. (Fernando hugs him) Reeky thinks ‘I swear that if my dad dies, I will kill yours, Fernando Lascurain’.

Previews: Diego and Fernando argument repeat, Ana bowing to Fernando asking for permission to leave. Meanwhile Isa keeps brainwashing Alicia. Alicia tells Fer ‘my little bro can die, and its all Ana’s fault’. Fernando impactado.

Johnny reminds me of a caricature of some other stupid person, I just can't remember who that might be.

Marta, thank you for your most excellent and complete recap.

Marta, I did not think Enrique was faking it crying about his dad being in such serious condition which in my mind makes him even more dangerous. His "revenge" on behalf of his poor father is "heart felt" in his own deranged way and will be further twisted by his grief. Isabella is much more in control of her actions and emotions as we continue to see.

It was so enjoyable to see Fanny confront Enrique about Margarita's food stand. She told Ana and needs to tell her father already no matter what. The reluctance to bother Fernabdo with serious issues is frustrating.

Fernando has it so bad for Ana I could only smile as he came up with his lame new rules for Diego visiting/taking out Ana. He was so funny in a pathetic schmucky kind if way.

If Johnny likes Edna even just as a fellow human being, why on earth would he have her try to get a job at Chicago from Doroteo the man that kidnapped him, beat him and holds him in a kind of indentured servitude/slavery? Less of Johnny and stupid subplots like this, please.

Another request: can they just solve the Bruno mystery already? Right now it is just boring.

If Isabella has to stay calm and stress free, will she (or Yolanda) ever leave the Lascurain household?

Lots if action on the horizon!

Jarifa

Marta--thank you so much for the comprehensive recap! It's a delight to read and much appreciated.

Guess Isa has her ticket for a free ride in the Lascourain mansion for the foreseeable future. Where did she hide the guitar scraps? Send the kids on a search party!

I hope that the Diego character has been spared an early exit, but every time he gets on that moto I worry about him.

Poor Nando, he is going to start feeling strangled by Ximena very soon. That jealous fit where she calls her friend Laura a pobretona was awful.

Johnny's getting on my nerves. He takes up screen time that I could be using to stare at JS or PM. Is he a super popular star in Mexico? I just don't get the appeal.

J in Oregon

Thanks so much Marta. Fun recap and details galore!

I'm starting to see why people don't always run to Fer with the news on possible events. He doesn't learn quickly who to trust and who not to trust, and those who are closest to him who he should learn to trust, if they don't have facts or proof he seems to waffle and too often takes the side of the people causing problems. Maybe not ever having a lot of "friends" he didn't learn to read people well. Now he's getting sucked into Eeky's sphere again. Understand the support of an employee, but you just basically fired the guy, sort of. Wanna bet he changes his mind? And now I worry for sweet Nico. Writers...you had better not!!

Ok, officially done with Ximena, and Laura is no better prize. Nando deserves so much more than these two young women.

Poor Ana, it seems when she is struggling most with her own inner demons is when everyone seems to want her as their listening post the most. And being who she is, she takes on responsibility for everything and everybody. Something positive had better start happening for this woman.

Fer needs to shut the hell up to Diego, that was appalling right in front of Ana ( gee make her feel like a piece of property why dontcha). Sorry, if the he-man jealousy thing is supposed to be attractive to viewers to show his love, not buying it. To me, major turn-off.

I still say Fer could set Isa up somewhere else with a nurse and help. Frankly, he could use the excuse that if she is under stress, she should be away from noisy kids and well, even, Ana. See her argue away from that!

Boy, this plot with Bruno better have a big pay-off. And Jarifa, brilliant comment about Johny and Edna. And why the heck would he be showing up at the mansion? Just go away...they have to insinuate this idiot into everybody's story lines.

Daisynjay

DaisynJay, LOVED LOVED your 'the he-man jealousy thing' comment. totally agree... Fernando needs to take a few Valium and take a vacation without anyone else around, or even better just with the three smaller kids...

and Totaly agree on the Johnny comment. he just needs to go away.

There are just W A Y too many side stories going on in this tn..Jettison Johnny and Ximena and possibly Brunos secret. That still leaves Isa/Fer/Ana...Fan/Reek/Leo ...and Nico/Jenn. Enough

Thank you, Marta, for the wonderful recap!

With how much his immediate family's peace and happiness mean to Fer, he should extend his love and well-wishes to his brother. If he wants to prevent sibling rivalry among his own children, he should squelch his own. After all, his children model their behavior and relationships on his.

The tn writers seem to associate Xime's celos with her mental illness, which is ridiculous.

If the Lascurains are headed for financial ruin, as some bloggers predict, perhaps Johnny will become a successful televisa star and support everyone!

Regarding Edna, if she's really desperate for a job, I suppose she could fill Jen's vacant position at the club. It seems to provide adequate pay for food and shelter.

Thanks for the excellent recap!

Listening to Isa and Manuela cry was channel changing worthy.

Reeky calling Fer about his dad made no sense to me. Actor still bad with showing grief.

I wish the Xime/Nando/Laura storyline would end. Again, Laura going to Nando when upset makes no sense when Fanny is her friend in the house.

The story line seems to be moving very slow at the moment and the bad guys seem to be winning. I need more positive things to happen. Show is depressing me!

Maybe Laura feels with the loss of her scholarship if she gets her hooks into Nando she can get some money out of Nando.

Yet the villains are still getting away with crap.

i agree, time for a good day for the good characters... too much anvil falling on them right now.
and please, let it not be that the anvil Reeky thought (killing Nico) will actually have someone else as victim (Diego?) yikes!

Marta,

Thank you, thank you. Great detail as always.

I found this episode as depressing as others did. Too many side stories going nowhere, too much bad karma for the good guys. And so many episodes before anything much gets resolved.

On the other hand, we are this far in so what are we going to do but be patient and hope for the best. I often get to this point with comic novelas from Mexico. The shouting, the side stories, the antic characters like Johnny just get me down. I need to get past this lull!

Awesome Marta, how do you keep up with the dialog?

Hate, hate it that Alicia is now the attack puppy for Isabela. She is manipulating the girl because she can and doesn't give a flip the damage to the girl. I cannot even be mad at Alicia she knows not what she does.

Now two women fighting for the same guy will dance at the club or does Edna bring something that has lacked in Ana's performance?

I too am not impressed with 'the he-man jealousy thing' and makes Fernando look trite.

Yep, Isabela & Yomama ain't going nowhere fast.

Why is it we have 3 young women, one drops out of university and cannot find her way and two others are just too stupid to keep up their grades and have to run to a 17 year old boy so they can pass? Pretty bad when the only smart educated women are Isabela & Linda.

Ana - I should be flattered but I'm not, no I'm not

Nando - somebody please want me for my body not my brain

Fernando - I'm installing a time clock

Manuela - even if it were true you'd get over it quick

Luz - that money was burning a hole in my pocket anyway

Doc - "A man who walks with the animals, talks with the animals
Grunts and squeaks and squawks with the animals"

Isabela - against the ropes roundhouse knockout

Diego - Swiffer Quicker Picker Upper

yeah Fernando, like building a castle and water ditch around Ana would keep Diego away... dream on! you should know your bro better by now and stop acting like you own the entire universe. you have 'blown it' enough times 'act like a man already and stand by your word, let them be happy, even if you won't due to your own stupidity and HUGE EGO...

Thanks, Marta! I admit I didn't really watch this episode, just had it on while I was doing other stuff and felt compelled to wander away whenever people were wailing like banshees, so I appreciate getting the details from you.

Here's Fer's big opportunity. Clearly being in that house with the kids and Ana is the most stressful thing for Isa, so he should insist on setting her up with a nurse in an apartment somewhere else! Of course, our brilliant businessman probably won't think of that or manage to follow through even if he does.

I'm trying to think what could possibly be interesting enough to make the payoff in Bruno's secret storyline worth it. He's created a younger, non-stuttering clone of himself and in a month he has to transfer his mind to the new body? I'm guessing it's something lame like the woman who broke his heart all those years ago has been lying there in a coma and is on the way out of this world. If it's something we are going to believe he had good reason to keep secret, I'll eat my beanie.

"The tn writers seem to associate Xime's celos with her mental illness, which is ridiculous."

OMG! YES Ecuador. That is what bugs me on this plotline. If Ximena, who we just learned was being treated for severe depression, would be anything if she was off the meds, it would be totally uncaring about her relationship and falling into a state of further depression that she's losing the guy. Instead she rants and raves--that is NOT a symptom of depression especially if she's on her meds.

Now she could suffer from not handling rejection well since her mother has done such a stellar job in that category--but that is a whole different personality issue and not one everyone should be tip-toing around. Please writers, do something to get Nando out of this. It's going to devour a sweet young man who I don't think would have the capability to keep this woman happy in the long run.

Bruno's pay off has to be connected to someone else--it's TN law. Maybe the whoever is either a secret sibling or friend who we will discover is one of Ana's long-lost parents?? Hey, Bruno may not even know that, but that would be the payoff. I'm grabbing at anything here to stay interested and put up with Manuela's whining.

Daisynjay

Daisy,
I'm grabbing at anything here to stay interested and put up with Manuela's whining.

ROFLOL!! you are so right! i too want it to be Bruno's 'ex loved one' who happens to be Ana's mom, and maybe that could make Bruno her dad too... crossing fingers.

but then what role would the old woman in the credits be playing if Bruno's ex-loved one is dying?

Marta, fantastic title and recap.

As others have noted, your conversation translations are complete and greatly appreciated. The embedded vocabulary was a treat.

Things seem to be mired in the mud now and no one and nothing seems to be going fast (including Isabel who will now recuperate and "lounge out" as long as possible, while trying to garner as much sympathy as she can during the process.

I was happy there may be some clues to finding Ana's mother.

Thanks Marta, this was great.

Diana

It could be Bruno's old flame but Bruno is a 50 year old virgin.

Thanks Marta. Loved the recap.

And thanks UA: loved yours, too. Always great to hear from the Pantheon.

First my hate: HATE the fourth wall thing. It's only funny once or twice in a teen comedy.

Was I the only one that was a little nervous when Xi was standing by what looked like an open window while she was losing it?

Carvivlie and Julia: thought the same thing about Laura. Fanny is her friend, not Nando. She's after Nando for his money. I totally understand her losing it when she got the letter, I just hope this isn't the writers making her psycho like Xi.

The only novela I've watched where the good guys won on a consistent basis was Amor Bravio.

Daisy and Julia: though the same thing about Isa. That house is no place for her if she really needs to be in a stress free environment.

Don't mind Johnny. Maybe it's because I fast forward through most of his scenes :)

I didn't like that Diego left the papers to look at the next day. I'm thinking fire or something else that will keep Diego from finding crucial info.

Are we going to be in the second half before Norma Herrera shows up?

Nanette

Nanette, i too was thinking something could happen to that guy's store and his records box (how many sales did he have in a year to fit all the records in one paper box for 50+ years worth?) and whether Diego left the guitar (SN type info) with him.

I too think Isa will try to somehow tie Ana to be her 'slave' but this will make no sense to Fernando if Isa wants to be calm, being side by side with Ana constantly would be the last thing Isa would need to recover, UNLESS she is just trying to rub it in and undermine Ana. Why did Ana never tell anyone, even Fanny , that Isa stepped on her hand (I do remember Ana being upset and Bruno consoling her and saying 'hang in there for the team') but she never told him any details of what Isa was doing to her to make her feel so upset.

the problem now is Ana feels way guiltier than she should about Isa's crisis... now she is painting it to everyone that she IS guilty of hurting Isa when it should be Isa up for judgement.

I hope the little kids talk to someone about the conversation they overheard between Yolo and Isa, about Isa having done something dangerous for the baby and blaming the fight with Ana.

“If it's so stressful for Isabrat to be near Ana why doesn't she just demand an apartment and a nurse?”

“Athena, you expect logic from one who has none,” said Zeus. “She only wants to torture her with guilt about a baby that likely isn't Fernando's.”

“At least the children have the initiative to spy on her. How is it they had the right instinct about her when none of the adults did?”

“Athena, you don't know because you never were a child. And mortal children have excellent instincts. If that baby survives to be born it will want to run from her every chance it gets.”

“As much as I don't want this child to tie her to Fernando I don't like the idea of it being Enrique's either.”

“I know. But if both of them end up in prison it will be raised by someone else. We could look forward to that.”

UA: "I know. But if both of them end up in prison it will be raised by someone else. We could look forward to that.”--amen to that!!! Maybe Jen and Nico if the whole Manuela thing falls throughor even if it doesn't. Or Fanny and Leon. Or Nando and Xi (just kidding).

We have a baby that's going to be essentially parentless and an infertile woman. Perfect telenovela kismet. Jen and Nico would be perfect. I can't see Fanny and Leon having it together and being settled enough in five or six months to take on a new baby. Nor should they be. They need to focus on finishing school first.

Laughed at the idea of Xi and Nando adopting the baby. Yikes. That poor child will have enough problems because of its gene donors. It doesn't need more.

Some of the kids seem a bit attached to their unborn "sibling" in spite of its mother, but I think they'd be happy enough to have her or him as an aunt or uncle instead.

I think so. And it may not be genetically related to them anyway.
