Mi Corazon es Tuyo, #65 One Wedding and a Funeral (of sorts)

We open with Ana throwing the DNA results at YoMama, exclaiming how disgusted she is with her and her daughter. To sum it up, she’s done with them and is moving on. She won’t be fooled again.

Meanwhile, Diego, Nico and Jen are sitting downstairs as Ana comes down. Jen wants to go up and smack YoMama around, they all agree that Isabela had to be in on the deception. Nico wants to tell Fernando, but somehow he gets talked out of it. Yet another secret about Isa that everyone wants to keep from him. Why?

Jen shows Ana the bright pink and purple wedding invitations.

Later that night
As Bruno and Manuela prepare dinner, she asks again why he isn’t in agreement for her to be a surrogate for Jen, is it his machismo? No, Bruno says, it’s because it’s my debt to Nico to pay back, not yours, and I want to pay it back myself. Good reason Bruno.

Nico is giving Fanny a waltz lesson. She asks what they are having at the wedding and who is catering it. He tells her the menu they would like and she tells him that León’s mother has a taco stand and she could make the food. She’ll ask her to do it.

Enrique is still at the office slumming the internet while he’s singing O Solo Mio and prints a picture of Fanny. He leers at it saying, I’m not going to rest until you’re mine. So Gross!!! (I can see a León rescue in Fanny’s future.)

Fernando is talking with Alicia in her room as she gets ready for dinner.
A:I can’t understand why everyone is against Isabela.
F:Everyone isn’t against her, but you do know what she did to Sebastian.
A:Seba exaggerates. How would you react to someone doing bad things to you?
F:As an adult, one doesn’t mistreat a child that way.
A:Really, and maybe Sebastian invented everything in order to separate you two.
F:But the twins saw it and said the same thing, and Sebastian isn’t capable of lying in such a grand manor.
A:Well, you don’t know him papa.
F:And she tore up the twin’s notebooks and threw them away.
A:You don’t think they made that up too?
F:So the whole world lies and Isabela is the only one who tells the truth?
A:You don’t care about her, Isa told me you don’t.
F:I married her because I care about her.
A:And you married her and now you want her to suffer. Everyone is against her, including Ana, and it’s not fair.

I can see Alicia overhearing Isabela saying ugly things about Alicia to YoMama in her future.

Ana comes into Fanny’s room and wows over Fanny’s dress. Then Fanny grabs the laptop to show her the results of the career test she took. (She waves the computer around while it’s open and I always get anxiety when I see someone doing that. My computer guy said never to move the laptop around like that while it’s awake, you will ruin the components) Anyway, the results say that she’s sociable and would do best in a career working with children or something that would help change the world. Sociology, ecology, and education, but she doesn’t know which one she would choose, they are all so different. (She could teach ecology to children in a third world country and use all of them.)

The next day.
Ximena gets discharged and Nando is there to pick her up. They smooch in front of the doctor, ugh.

Fanny is met by the gatekeeper when she wants to see Margarita. Reina threatens Fanny for no good reason, just to bother her. Margarita arrives and tells the queen to leave. Fanny gets down to business and asks Margarita if she could make the food for the wedding, they want typical mexican fare. Margarita is elated that she can have this work, while eavesdropping Reina is fuming.

León is getting an envelop to deliver from Betty and asks if Enrique is around, and that he can’t stand the man. He thinks he has a thing for Fanny. Just then Enrique comes in and tells León not to look at the secretary that way and slaps the envelop out of his hand and walks off. (Betty, this is the man you have the hots for?)

Diego is taking pre-wedding photos of Nico and Jen. Fun ensues.

Various days later
Jonny, ugh, is sad and drinking because Jenny is getting married tomorrow. Edna tells him that drinking won’t solve anything.

Later that night, Ana is in the kitchen talking to Jen on the phone about being nervous for the wedding the next day, when Fernando comes in and overhears the convo for a bit before Ana sees him and hangs up. They discuss his sleeping problems for a while, then she brings her book she’s been reading to the table and Fer notices it’s Jaime Sabines, a mexican poet, and starts quoting a poem of love lost. As he quotes the painful passages of the poem, Ana looks them up in the book to follow along. He’s in another world as he recites, realizing his own pain and experiences in the words he’s delivering out loud in his current situation with his love of Ana. Ana quietly leaves. She also feels the pain of the words that are also too true to her own feelings.

Wedding Day
Ana is helping Jen get ready, Jen is excited to be marrying the man of her life. It makes Ana remember her excitement when she was at dinner with Fernando expecting him to ask her to marry him, only to be told that he’s marrying Isabela. Edna brings a drunk Jonny who begs Jen not to marry. Ffwd.

Meanwhile, Nico is telling Fer how nervous excited he is. Diego arrives for breakfast.
Diego says he’s happy that Nico is excited, which is the exact opposite of what happened when Fer got married, lol. And now after what they did to Ana... What happened to Ana? asks Fer.  Nico tells him and Fer is furious. (I’m glad he finally knows) They fill him in on the details. Manuela overhearing, wants to know how someone could play on the feelings of another person who is as nice as Ana. Yes, Nico says that both of them are bad and dangerous people. Fer storms off to look for her. Bruno tells him that Isa, Yo and Alicia went to the beauty salon. Fernando just can’t believe the person he married is capable of doing such awful things, and recites them all. Bruno is there to be a sounding board. Fanny hears the commotion and wants to know what’s happening. Fernando tells her that Isabela is crazy, simply crazy.

León is helping Margarita set up. He doesn’t understand why Margarita is doing this. Margarita informs him that it was Fanny’s idea to hire her, and he has to realize that she’s a great girl, she’s making an effort to get close to León, and he needs to fight for her to win her back.

Back to Fer and Fan, she advises him that he needs to do something about her. He knows, but his one concern is Alicia. Isabela has brainwashed her and he does’t know how to deal with that. Fanny says she can talk to Alicia, but Fer needs to deal with Isabela right now.

At the salon, Yo tells Isa she better be prepared for the fallout for the deception to Ana. Isa tells her that Yo’s the one who will take the fall for that, but Yo quickly tells her that it was actually Isa’s idea, and Yo isn’t going down alone.

Ana comes back to the mansion and is getting the kids ready for the wedding. Fun ensues.

Jen is all dressed and ready. The dress is gorgeous, her hair and makeup look beautiful, and she wrecked the look with this weird head band that looks almost native american, or indian, not sure why she added this touch. Ana is wearing a floor length dress with black, gray and white vertical stripes. Hmm,  the jury is still out on this dress.
Then we switch to Nico, he’s very dapper in his in his white linen suit, all the boys are wearing white too. Just then, Isa, Yo and Alicia come home, apologizing for being late. Fer says that’s the least of what you have to be sorry for, and he takes her aside to talk with her. He says I know what you and your mother did to Ana and there will be very serious consequences. I have reached my limit.

Avances: Isa has quite a plan for the wedding.

Good stuff, Cathy. And I catch the fallout from this on Monday (and another wedding?).

Isabruja and Yomama are in the soup now but I'm sure they'll find a way to slither out for another round, which will be a big one, indeed with uglier fallout.

The gods are calling... back later.

True, UA, Fridays are the lead up to big happenings, and Mondays are the big happenings.

Great read cathyx. I was a bit frustrated by some of the scenes last night.

I guess we're supposed to think Johny's character is funny. First off, Edna has the patience of a saint because I honestly would have dumped his sorry *** in a cab and walked away from this guy. Someone needs to tell me why he's apparently a catch.

Did like Jen's look of disgust with him. She should note not to worry because he'll be "all in love" with someone else soon enough and we have to deal with that too. We should introduce him to Reina.

Did not like how they are now painting Alicia all in Isa's corner. Sure she gets this special attention, but it's not like Ana and her siblings haven't been good to her. She is in for a major fall I agree and it will hit hard.

So not liking the previews. I hate the attempted comedy of one or the other partner not getting to the wedding on time and the antics that ensue. Should have seen it coming. Never quite comes off right. By the way, the dress was very Jen, but I agree, she should have ditched the head adornment.

Eeky better not show up at this wedding to cause trouble with Fanny because he is nothing to the bride or groom. He's there and then it is only a writer's move and really not realistic.

Daisynjay

Thank you, Cathyx, well done!

Finally someone tells Fer the truth about Isa. Is there something else that he's not aware of? Oh, yeah, the baby daddy situation. Ooopsy!

I'm not sure about Ana's dress, either. SN has lost so much weight due to all the dancing lessons, I always end up staring at her body because she' so lean and fit now (not that before she was fat or anything). But this dress... I didn't really like.

Poor Alicia is in for a lot of pain when she realizes that Isa has been using her. And you know it won't be a simple discovery, she will either hear Isa say some very nasty words about her or Isa will say them to her face (which I can totally see happen).

Cathyx, thanks. The recap was great.

Another great episode of Fernando becoming aware of the Isabela damage done to his family with the discovery of the brainwashing of Alicia and the cruel hoax played on Ana. Now if he can find out about Enrique putting the moves on Fanny there may be hope for him stopping his own destruction.

My favorite scene was Fernando reciting the Sabines poetry with Ana following along.

It was sort of odd to me that Bruno thought Manuela was offering to be a surrogate to pay Bruno's debt to Nico. That had neve crossed my mind.

At least Yolanda refuses to be thrown under the bus by Isabela in reference to the Ana ruse. Her reaction to Isabela was so colorfu: "No voy a cargar con el muertito sola."

I loved the twins cartwheeling their way into the room.

With Jenny moving in with Nico, I am hoping fot less Johnny.

Thank you for the wonderful recap!

Very disappointed in Yomama's response to Ana abt the Dna results. I didn't think she showed any remorse and looked shocked that Ana would be so angry...thus she is still dead to me.

Looks like the wedding may not happen.

Reeky is so disgusting and creep. Yuck Yuck!

Good recap.

Thanks CathyX. Enjoyed all the details in this great recap!

At least Fernando is getting more details on Isa's scheming.

I wonder what Fernando meant when he told Isabruja that there would be consequences for what she and YoMama did to Ana?
The last straw should have been Isabruja throwing Sebastian against the wall. Imagine what type of parenting skills she may have with a newborn that cries all the time! Shudder!!

“Well, at least we don't have to tell Fernando about Isabela's latest little mind game,” said Hermes. “The question is what will he do about it?”

“I hope he divorces her,” said Athena. “I grew up without a real mother. If the infant is his he can fight for custody. If not he would be totally justified to hang her out to dry.”

“I'm worried about Enrique's next move,” said Aphrodite. “He's planning to destroy Fernando both inside and out and Fanny along with that.”

“At least León knows he's looking at Fanny the wrong way. He should tell Fernando because she won't.”

Thanks to all the great recappers!!---using this show to help learn Spanish and the recaps are a huge help!

I know it's only a TV show, but anybody else find it funny that:
-Everybody's cell phone has the same boring, default ring tone! For sure, "hashtag" Fanny would have something more interesting.
-Time is not at all realistic--Ana gets DNA results back in 1 day, but Isa has been pregnant for many, many weeks and does not look like it at all.

Jarifa, Manuela told Nico and Jen that the reason she wanted to be a surrogate was to pay Nico back for helping Bruno. This happened at the Quince party.

I think that Isabruja is just at the 13- or 14-week mark. Lots of women don't "show" yet at that point and knowing her vanity she won't gain any weight she can safely keep off.

She also can't have an abortion in Mexico, even in D.F., which sets the limit at 12 weeks.

She will also soon be at the point where she can get tested for fetal paternity. That has to be the next thing.

I didn't really show at 3 months. My pants became a bit tight in the waist, but no one would know that I was pregnant at that point.
And I do hope that after all of this, Fernando would be wise enough to get a paternity test.

great cathyx

"(She could teach ecology to children in a third world country and use all of them.)"

Adrián Uribe, who in the world is this clown. It seems to me they are trying way too hard to insert scenes for him into the story and the part of Juan was originally a bit part as Ana's bf whom cheats on her and she leaves. He's not even funny.

Thanks, Cathy. I like and agree with your crystal ball projections. I hope we don't have to wait too long.

Glad Fer finally heard about what the brujas did to Ana. Wish Fanny would tell him what Enreeky did to her.

Slight correction...at Bea's desk, León asked Enragey to take some papers to Fer since Reeky was heading in there anyway, and the ogre snarled "do I look like a secretary?" and smacked them to the floor. Yikes. On the plus side, he's losing control of his over-the-top nastiness so sooner or later, I hope sooner, Fer will see it. I would hope Bea would tell Fer about this, but of course everyone for some reason feels like they should hide all this kind of thing from Fer.

I wish Bea, León, and Fanny would get to chatting and realize they all want Reeky gone and between them, they have enough evidence that he is a creep to get Fer to fire him. Surely Fer does not want someone who behaves like that representing his company.

I like how good Ana has gotten at sternly dealing with Johnny's stupidity now that she has all this experience handling unruly children. Edna seems sweet, if rather dim and naive...perhaps a future match for Diego? I think she could turn out fine with a little life coaching from Ana.

So Ana and Jen are going to have a little adventure getting to the wedding...and are we supposed to believe they won't be able to call and let everyone know what's going on and why they are late?

Julia:

Edna and Diego -- NO WAY PLEASE.

Johnny just keeps getting more and more ridiculous and irritating.

Julia, it popped in my head about Edna and Diego too. I see no reason for Edna to show but to muddy the water.

Thanks, cathyx. I've been fast forwarding too much lately. So much to watch, so little time . . . Anyway, now I really do not want Manuela to be the surrogate. So I will add this to my initial rejection of the idea because Manuela has had no children of her own. Bad idea!

Jarifa

Thanks, Cathyx, for recapping this set-up episode. I sure hope that the wedding comes off and that Fernando decides to end the relationship. Both may be wishful thinking, I guess.

After the cute scene with the selection of the wedding dress, I thought that Jenny would look more beautiful. As everyone has said, less is more in this case (and I think that's what Nico said about the invitations, too!)

Whatever else we can say about this novela (and the trials and tribulations to come) the entire family is substantially less snobbish and full of itself than at the start. That excludes, of course, las brujas.

This thing I love about Luz, by the way, is that she can be very girlish with Ana and the girls, and quite a little imp with her brothers. She is a cutie and a great little actress.

Gee, I kind of liked Jenny's little headband thing. Thanks, Cathyx for your great recap. I was hoping that Ana would be a so much better and more caring "daughter" to Yolanda that the latter would re-evaluate her own behavior.

Denise

For the life of me I can't understand what Ana ever saw in Johnny to be his girlfriend. I guess being nanny to Fer's kids and falling in love with Fer brought out the best in her and she probably is thinking the same about him. I get so annoyed when he comes on.

I thought Jen's getup looked nothing like a wedding dress. What was she thinking? She looked like a hippie.

For some reason I can't seem to recall Ana's dress and it's killing me!!☺

Cathyx I just loved your recap.

Ann-NYC

I liked the bohemian look Jen ended up with. She wouldn't have looked or felt like herself in a very formal gown. I like the idea of the headpiece but thought that particular one looked a bit odd.

That did look rather hippie-ish. I was hoping she'd go for something a little more elegant to show up Isabruja. However, she probably is anyway by being herself which is a lovable self in contrast to whatever other persona Isabruja can adopt.

Is Enrique invited to the wedding? Does anyone remember? I think it would be weird if he were invited, he's not a family member and he's not dating anyone who is, but he was invited to the Quince which was also odd, maybe even odder than the wedding.

Jenny - Deadhead couture

Bruno - the deal was MY first born

Alicia - day spa deception

Yomama - momfooliery

Isabela - teflon stepmom

Edna - it's artistic smut

Juan - sleep it off for 20 years

Ricky - "And I'm lookin' in the mirror all the time
Wonderin' what she don't see in me
I've been funny; I've been cool with the lines"

Ana - those feels, why couldn't he recite Dr Seuss or Motley Crue

Fernando - I'll huff and I'll puff and go to marriage counseling

Sofie, another winner with the huffin'puffin' Fernando comment.

Jarifa

Thanks, cathyx, for another great recap!

Rip Van Halen - I agree with you. Watching the tn capitulos and reading the recappers' summaries helps mucho with learning Spanish. Also, I ascribe MCET's time discrepancies to the 'tenenovela timewarp,' and others, apparently from past tns, refer to wearing 'beanies' that enable the viewers to witness logical errors in episodes and accept them at face value. Just go with the flow . . .

I also enjoyed the touching, Sabines-poetry scene best. Now I want to find a copy of his anthology.

Diego is way too intelligent for Edna. She and Johnny make a suitably dimwitted couple. Let's just hope they do not procreate and contribute to the fictional tn gene pool. It's bad enough Isabruja and Enrique's spawn will be unleashed on the tn world!

I believe in the scene by Betty's desk Betty asked Leon to deliver the papers to Enreeky... then Leon comments that he can't stand the guy and just before Reeky shows up Betty responds 'you're not the only one ... or... you and the whole world'...
then Reeky shows up and insults Leon asking why he is talking to betty, then Leon asked 'can you receive these papers from me?' and Reeky rudely dumped the folder with the papers on teh floor and asked 'am I the secretary??'

so I believe the papers Leon was supposed to deliver to Reeky...

I loved loved the poem and even more how Fernando (JS) recited them... the lines were almost as if they had been written for Fernando and Ana as I heard them... so i looked it up on the net...

Los amorosos callan. Lovers stay quiet
El amor es el silencio más fino, Love is the finest silence
el más tembloroso, el más insoportable. The most shivering, the most intolerable
Los amorosos buscan, Lovers seek
los amorosos son los que abandonan, lovers abandon
son los que cambian, los que olvidan. Lovers change, forget.

Su corazón les dice que nunca han de encontrar, their heart tells them they will never find
no encuentran, buscan. They don’t find, (but) they search
Los amorosos andan como locos they go like crazes from one place to another
porque están solos, solos, solos, because they are alone… alone… alone (or lonely)
entregándose, dándose a cada rato, giving of themselves, giving all the time
llorando porque no salvan al amor. Crying because they don’t/can’t save their love.

Les preocupa el amor. Los amorosos they worry about love
viven al día, no pueden hacer más, no saben. They live day to day, they can’t do more,
don’t know how
Siempre se están yendo, they are always leaving…
siempre, hacia alguna parte. Always… going somewhere (undetermined)
Esperan, They wait…
no esperan nada, pero esperan. They don’t wait for anything (in particular), but they wait

this is how far we hear in the novela,

here's the rest...
Saben que nunca han de encontrar. They know they will never find
El amor es la prórroga perpetua, love is the perpetual postponing
siempre el paso siguiente, el otro, el otro. Always the next step… the next… the next…
Los amorosos son los insaciables, lovers are the insatiable ones,
los que siempre -¡que bueno!- han de estar solos. The ones that always – how great!- …
will be alone.
Los amorosos son la hidra del cuento. The lovers are the hydra of the story.

Tienen serpientes en lugar de brazos. They have serpents in the place of arms
Las venas del cuello se les hinchan the veins in their neck swell
también como serpientes para asfixiarlos. As if serpents, to asfixiate them.
Los amorosos no pueden dormir Lovers can’t sleep
porque si se duermen se los comen los gusanos. Because, if they sleep, the worms eat them
En la oscuridad abren los ojos they open their eyes in the darkness
y les cae en ellos el espanto. And fear falls into them
Encuentran alacranes bajo la sábana They find scorpions under the sheets
y su cama flota como sobre un lago. And their bed floats in a lake

Los amorosos son locos, sólo locos, Lovers are crazy… just crazy…
sin Dios y sin diablo. With no God and with no Devil
Los amorosos salen de sus cuevas Lovers come out of their caves
temblorosos, hambrientos, shaking, hungry
a cazar fantasmas. To hunt for ghosts.
Se ríen de las gentes que lo saben todo, they laugh of people who know everything
de las que aman a perpetuidad, verídicamente, of those who love forever, truly
de las que creen en el amor of those who believe in love
como una lámpara de inagotable aceite. Like an inexhaustible oil lamp

Los amorosos juegan a coger el agua, lovers play to catch the water (in their hands)
a tatuar el humo, a no irse. To put a tattoo in smoke, to not leave ever.
Juegan el largo, el triste juego del amor. They play the long, sad game of love.
Nadie ha de resignarse. Noone will give up / resign themselves.
Dicen que nadie ha de resignarse. They say no one will give up.
Los amorosos se avergüenzan de toda conformación. Lovers feel shame of any conformation
Vacíos, pero vacíos de una a otra costilla, empty, empty of one rib or another
la muerte les fermenta detrás de los ojos, death brews behind their eyes
y ellos caminan, lloran hasta la madrugada and they walk, cry until dawn
en que trenes y gallos se despiden dolorosamente. Where trains and roosters say a painful goodbye

Les llega a veces un olor a tierra recién nacida, sometimes they sense a smell of newborn soil
a mujeres que duermen con la mano en el sexo, of women who sleep with the hand on sex,
complacidas, satisfied,
a arroyos de agua tierna y a cocinas. Of creeks of tender water and of kitchens
Los amorosos se ponen a cantar entre labios lovers sing through their lips
una canción no aprendida, a song that they never learned
y se van llorando, llorando, and they find themselves crying, … crying
la hermosa vida. To the beautiful life.

these are the lines that make me think the most about Ana/Fer esp the way he had that yearning look as he recited them...

Los amorosos callan. Lovers stay quiet
El amor es el silencio más fino, Love is the finest silence
el más tembloroso, el más insoportable. The most shivering, the most intolerable
Los amorosos buscan, Lovers seek
...
Su corazón les dice que nunca han de encontrar, their heart tells them they will never find
no encuentran, buscan. They don’t find, (but) they search
...
porque están solos, solos, solos, because they are alone… alone… alone (or lonely)
entregándose, dándose a cada rato, giving of themselves, giving all the time
llorando porque no salvan al amor. Crying because they don’t/can’t save their love.

Les preocupa el amor. Los amorosos they worry about love
viven al día, no pueden hacer más, no saben. They live day to day, they can’t do more,
don’t know how
...Esperan, They wait…
no esperan nada, pero esperan. They don’t wait for anything (in particular), but they wait

That poem is fantastic and totally correct for the moment.

It seems that Fernando wasted a lot of his own life fighting the part of his soul that needs this.

Just a quick note that tonight's article will be posting automatically while I'm at a concert. I will check in upon return.

I like Diego and all but he never had a chance. Ana is a goner for another man

TOtally with you Carvivlie... on YoMama undermining what she and Isa had done to Ana... I could not believe my ears when Ana told her she knew the truth and they should not play with someone's feelings for their mother... and YoMama was shrugging her shoulders saying Ana is not the first girl looking for her lost mom, and that she herself never knew her dad... (good grief!!)

loved that YoMama told Isa off at the salon that she would not go down alone but take her with her...

and tofie... ROFLOL!!! at your line about Fernando last night 'huffin' and puffin''... especially after such a tender moment with Ana and the poem.

I agree with you, tofie, about Diego... and even Nico tried to warn him at the beginning when he had just fallen for ANa that it was a lost cause...

Thank you, Marta, for the poem's translation!

Great recap, Cathyx.

I loved this: "Sociology, ecology, and education, but she doesn’t know which one she would choose, they are all so different. (She could teach ecology to children in a third world country and use all of them.)"

Great idea. And although some see Mexico as a "NIC", it is still technically a Third World country, so she doesn't have to go anywhere else to do it.

... their heart tells them they will never find.
They don’t find, (but yet) they search.

They live day to day, they can’t do more, don’t know (how/what to do)

...They wait(or live expecting, hoping)
They don’t wait/expect for anything (in particular), but they wait (expect, hope)

This all is so reflective of what Fernando and Ana are going through. Fernando sees such a somber reality around him that he has to keep that light of hope to someday have what he denied himself...
Ana used to live on a constant watch/wait for Fernando ... but lately, and at least in her mind, gives herself a chance with Diego since she can't expect anything to come out of her love for Fernando.

And about Fanny...
I too loved this:
"Sociology, ecology, and education, but she doesn’t know which one she would choose, they are all so different. (She could teach ecology to children in a third world country and use all of them.)"

i was thinking she could become a volunteer at a kids charity organization around the world, where she could teach them not only to read/write,etc, but also to plant their own food... if only she knew how to cook or build a garden... but Margarita and Leon could teach her some.

Cathyx this was smart and savvy. I especially appreciated your careful conversation translations and your comments "(Betty, this is the man you have the hots for?)" certainly reflected what most (if not all) are thinking.

Anxious to say what Fer will have to say to Isa. I know it's too much to hope for but would like him to tell her they are married in name only until the baby is born. In the meantime, he banishes her to another room with no power and worst of all, no credit card...

Enjoyed all the comments.

Diana

Its like they are both flying in circles (different planes) over an airport. Ana is fully ware that there is a time (gas) limit over that maneuver, but Fernando has closed his eyes and does not want to even think about limits or look down to the ground until the view down below is much more appealing to him, meanwhile he wants to keep Ana flying in circles across the airport airspace alongside him.

she has already changed course toward a nearby airport (Diego). he wants her to continue the circles indefinitely...

I think Fernando should tell the bruja, "Although I'm stuck with you FOR THE TIME BEING, I am NOT responsible for your mother. You are, or she is. She can go on Social Security (or whatever Mexico's equivalent is) or you need to go back to work if you want to pay for HER expenses, but she needs to move out NOW!"

He'll never do that, of course (being the wimp that he is), but that's definitely what I would do!

agreed.

He would also need the Extended Play Version because of her tendency to attempt to seduce him or do the "I'm delicate because I'm pregnant" routine:

"Millions of women through the centuries have worked during pregnancy right up to the minute. I'm sure sitting at a computer desk doesn't compare to harvesting vegetables." and follow it up with "You may think you're the hottest thing on stiletto heels but that doesn't mean a thing. You are a selfish and vindictive user of people and you don't fool me anymore."

Thanks for the recap, Cathy, and thanks for the poem translation, Marta.

What a beautiful poem, but so sad.

I think Jen looked ridiculous, overaccessorizing with the headpiece, neckband, and armband. The dress itself was pretty, but more suitable for a beach wedding. And it looked like the fit was off a bit. Ana's outfit was way too casual too, which makes me think this is going to be a boda interrumptus. I think they'll both get a second chance to put on something prettier.

Looking forward to tonight's episode.

Fer needs to start planning strategically for the eventual divorce. He needs to hire a lawyer and a detective, without telling Isa about it, and have them get to work on protecting Fer and his kids from Isa and gathering evidence that will help with a divorce settlement. Also, since Fer still thinks the baby is his (and it might be, it's just unlikely), he should be strategizing about how to ensure Isa can't take the baby away entirely or even have custody at all if they think they would be anywhere near as toxic to her own child as she is to Fer's kids.

I think Ximena's mother is the perfect prediction of what Isabruja would end up becoming and any child of hers will be sacrificed to her narcissism.

Fernando needed that lawyer four months ago.
