Hasta El Fin Del Mundo #45 10/17/14 Let's All Celebrate this (un)Happy Occasion!

Sofia descends the stairs in a dress I have no explanation for. Why is she wearing black at her own engagement party? This might be something Silvana would do out of grief over 'losing' Pato, but no, she's looking hot in bronze. Note to Sofia, if you dress in funeral colors at your own engagement party, maybe your subconscious is desperately trying to tell you something. Pato joins Sofia and everyone applauds as they come down the stairs.

Besides being ugly, half of Sofia's dress is missing.

Chava and Armie hide out in the staff area. Chava is in a funk and is wearing sunglasses. He doesn't want to see any more of this fake happiness than he has to.

Maybe if I ignore this nightmare it will go away.

Chava makes fun of the music coming from the party then daydreams about the kind of party he'd throw if he was engaged to Sofia. In his dream Pato is the chauffer!

Who needs champagne and caviar
when you can have big hats and tequila?

Chava's dream is interrupted when Fausto comes in to say that Greta wants them to enjoy the party too. But not in front of the guests. They are welcome to snack in the kitchen.

Sofia and Pato talk to Renzi. She is glad he is at the party representing Pato's family. This is really bothering me. Pato told Sofia he had no family. Now he's got a cousin and his parents can't come to the engagement party because they are in New York. Sofia doesn't question any of this. I'm beginning to think Sofia's naivety is sliding over the border to stupidity.

Sofia goes into the kitchen in her horrible dress. Chava tells her she looks beautiful, then puts his sunglasses back on. She's beautiful but that dress scalds his eyes. Sofia tells him how happy she is to have Chava in her life and how much her life has changed for the better since they met. They get very close and nearly kiss until Fausto interrupts. Sofia goes back to the party. Fausto tells Chava he is welcome to taste any dish - except the forbidden one. At least for today.

Alexa and Alan argue in the garden. She insists they pay Manolo off now! Didn't Alan tell her that her whole family was in danger? Alan, who apparently did not get any sense knocked into him during that beating, poo-poos the idea.

Silvana crosses the room to Pato and Renzi. She recognizes Renzi as the guy who broke into Coria's house. Pato introduces her to his cousin. She asks Renzi if he knows Peralta. Renzi is taken aback momentarily and tries to distract her with his oily charm. Silvana looks at him like he's some kind of carpet stain. She tells him to direct his hormones elsewhere and walks away. Matias watches as Renzi leers at her. Matias whispers, "Another pervert."

Silvana enters the snake pit.

Alan tells Alexa they'll have plenty of time to pay Manolo off after they get to Madrid. Besides, Greta promised she'd send him money once they got there. As I recall, Manolo was going to give Alan a few days to recover then he'd be calling for his money. Alan looks okay to me. I think it's already too late to run to Spain. Part of their argument is overheard by Armie. He walks over and separates them, "What's the problem?" Alexa denies anything is going on and drags Alan back to the party.

Silvana makes the typical Maid of Honor speech to the guests from the stairway. "I'm so happy for Sofia and Pato. They deserve all the happiness in the world. I'm not jealous at all. She's my best friend and I don't wish that she was dead and that this was my party." She gets very emotional. Sofia and Pato go up the stairs and comfort her. Matias looks on in anger.

Neither of these gals is prettier than me.

Miguelina is working feverishly to get all the party food ready. She drops what she's doing and steadies herself on the kitchen counter. Greta has hired an entire staff of servers, including Fausto, but she was too cheap to hire help for the old lady in the kitchen. Chava runs to assist her. Miguelina assures him that she's okay. She just needs to take her medicine.

Irma is on the phone with Marina who threatens to tell Armando everything. After the call, Irma makes lunch for Nandito and tells him that she's planning a special trip for them together. Without Armie. She tells Nandito the trip is a secret.

It's not Disneyland. It's more like Prisoneyland.

Chava comes in the door just as Pato formally proposes to Sofia. Chava prays that Sofia will say no.

Please, Lord. Give Sofia a thump on the noggin.

Sofia accepts. Chava's hopes are dashed.

Aw, damn it!

Silvana doesn't get her wish either.

Pato tells Sofia he loves her and kisses her. She avoids doing both in return.

Oh Baby. I'm really into this.

During the formal proposal Matias covered Silvana's hand with his. Silvana rips her hand out from under his.

Armie encourages Chava not to give up. Even if it's the last lap, there is still time to come from behind and win the race. Chava vows that he'll win. Even if it kills him.

That slimy rat bastard will never get the best of me!

Miguelina shuffles back to the kitchen and discovers Lucas has come to help. She scolds him, but he stays to help anyway. I guess he's figured out Lady Tightwad will work his Grandma into the grave.

200 guests, 15 servers and one cook.
How's that work again?

Paco and Araceli join Lupe' and Marisol for dinner. Everyone is enjoying themselves even though Marisol tries to kill the mood by bringing up her father. Lupe' warns her not to talk about Javier, especially in front of Chava, who by the way, is not here because Sofia Ripoll has him working during her engagement party. Surprisingly Paco defends Sofia. Then Lupe' steps in it and mentions that Paco seems much happier since he gave Sofia his secret recipe book.

Wait. You gave what to who??

Pato sees Chava and Armie standing off to the side of the party. Pato decides to rub Chava's face in all this happiness. He tells everyone how Chava saved Sofia from the attempted kidnapping. He sends Fausto to get Chava.  Armie wonders what Pato's got up his sleeve and warns Chava to be careful.

Araceli wants to know about the secret recipes. Why wasn't she told about this? Why did he give the recipes to Sofia Ripoll? Paco and Lupe' make up a cover story, but Araceli is still suspicious and isn't about to let it go. Paco tells her it is a personal matter. Did he question Araceli when she dumped Chava and ran off to Monterrey? Araceli protests that it's not the same thing. Paco sighs, thanks Lupe' for dinner and then leaves. Araceli sits and wonders.

What else is my dad hiding? Another daughter? Nah.

Pato compliments Chava on being a great chauffeur and slaps him on the back several times hard. Pato gives Chava a few more backhanded compliments. Chava does his best to control his anger.

Not only is he a great driver, he does windows!

Chava tries to say something but Pato dismisses him by asking his cousin Renzi to come up. As Chava leaves Pato sticks out his foot and trips him. Chava picks himself up off the floor. He covers his anger by saying, "I guess I'm not a dancer." Before he leaves Chava pulls Pato aside.

Me. You. 10 minutes. Outside.

Armie wonders what Renzi is doing at the party.

No reason. I just like looking at Armando.

Nandito wants to know if he can invite Alexa along on their trip. Irma tells him no, just the two of them will go. She warns him not to mention the trip to anybody. Especially not to your dad. Nandito understands. "It's a surprise!"

Pato has come outside. He guesses that Chava wants to thank him because his testimony led to Chava's freedom. Chava yells that Pato's prints were found on the money and he's the one who should have gone to jail! "You're a coward and you hide behind Sofia!" Chava slaps Pato on the shoulder hard. Push leads to shove. Chava rips his jacket off; he's ready to rumble! Armie rushes out and separates them. He tells Chava to let it go, "Don't do anything stupid." Armie barely manages to hold Chava back. From his now safe space, Pato mocks Chava then goes back into the party.

Inside, Greta is upset that the food isn't coming out of the kitchen fast enough. She orders Dani to go see what's holding things up.

Armie drags Chava back into the servant's quarters. He warns Chava to calm down. If he loses his job he also loses his chance to be around Sofia.

In the kitchen, Dani washes her hands and offers to help. Miguelina says she doesn't need her because her grandson is here to help! Lucas brings a tray of fruit into the kitchen. Miguelina tells him that there's someone she'd like him to meet, "This is Miss Daniela."

This can only end in teenaged angst.

Armie sees Renzi at his car. Renzie asks Armie what he is doing there. "I work here as a chauffeur. What are you doing here?" Renzi tells him that he's Pato's cousin. They both muse about what a small world it is. Renzi says he has to go back in to the party. Armie says, "Yes. You look like you've had enough sun."

It's self-tanner not Penzoil, gear head!

Lucas asks Dani why she lied about being poor. She tries to explain but he takes his apron off and runs out of the house. Dani runs after him. Miguelina runs after both of them, "What's going on?" Sure. Leave the old lady to finish the work all by herself. I predict we'll be seeing yet another infarto.

Renzi takes Pato aside and tells him that the mechanic of the race car they sabotaged works for the Ripoll's as a chauffeur. Pato tells him not to worry about it. Renzi spots Alexa and leers at her. Pato tells him "Shut it. Sofia is coming."

Greta bitches to Alexa and Alan about sending Dani to check on the food. Why Greta doesn't think of sending the Marvelous Chef Alan into the kitchen to help is beyond me. Shouldn't he have to work for that money Greta promised to send him?

Dani chases Lucas and tries to explain. He yells that he never lied to her. He was honest about being a thief and told her everything about himself. But she has done nothing but lie! She's probably even lying about being in love with him, a cook's grandson! Lucas is done with the poor little rich girl. He leaves Dani crying in the street.

Silvana isn't feeling well. Sofia will have Chava take her home. But before she goes Sofia has something for her.

Armie tells Chava about seeing Renzi at the party. Chava says, "You mean the realtor that is trying to buy up all the property in the neighborhood is Patricio's cousin?" They both think it can't be a coincidence. Fausto comes in to tell Chava that Sofia wants him to drive one of the guests home.

Sofia stands beside a gigantic blue lamp that belonged to Octavio. Silvana has always admired it and Sofia wants her to take it as a symbol of their friendship. Silvana tries to refuse it (I don't blame her. The thing is as big as a refrigerator.) but Sofia insists. Silvana is as much a sister to her as Alexa and Dani.

Chava is waiting at the car. He watches Matias try to talk to Silvana as she walks to the car. Matias tells her, "If you need a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to, I'm here for you." Silvana shoves him out of her way.

Outta my way you creepy nice guy!

Matias tells her again, "If you need me, call me." She screams "Shut up and get away from me!" After Matias walks away Chava tells Silvana that Matias is very noble, a really good guy. As Silvana gets in the car she grimaces in pain and nearly falls. Chava catches her. "Are you alright?"

Uh-oh. I guess we know what this means.

End of Episode.

Recap is up! I apologize that it took so long. Thanks for your patience.

Xlnt, thanks for the fun recap with all of the screencaps and entertaining captions like "Please, Lord. Give Sofía a thump on the noggin." She sure needs one!

Lupe was the "BLABBERMOUTH" in the Jackie Gleason Honeymooner sense of the term. (If you are old enough to remember that show) I could just hear him saying it when she opened her mouth about Paco and his recipes.

Of course, Fausto had to interrupt the kiss between Chava and Sofía. Another "almost kiss". I feel like the writers are playing with us.

I would have loved Sofía's dress if it were a couple of feet longer or floor length. It just looked chopped.

I can't wait for a full fledged fist fight between Patricio and Chava.

I loved Chava's dream with his performance.

At least Alan's face was still swollen up and bruised. Could we tell if he wore his big boy long pants to the party?

So ex-thief Lucas is going to get all moral and unforgiving about Dani having lied to him. He needs to remember if he weren't forgiven by Dani's sister Sofía and given a job he could easily be in jail. What a hypocritical jerk!

Jarifa

Xlnt – Terrific recap. Your riff on poor Miguelina doing all the cooking by herself while there were so many servers was a hoot. My favorites:

What else is my dad hiding? Another daughter? Nah.

No reason. I just like looking at Armando.

The worse thing about Lucas and Dani breaking up is the false hope that it will give Marisol.

Uh-oh, Silvana's got Pato's bun in her oven. Will Matias come to her rescue?

Jarifa, I can't wait for a fist fight either. My money is on Chava, even though Pato has the height-weight advantage. Chava has the "wupp-a$$" edge.

Niece, ITA about the odds being on Chava for the reason you mentioned!

Jarifa

Xlnt,

Would you like for me to recap Monday so that you can have a break? I just can't do Fridays.

Cynderella

Prisoneyland. That was hysterical!

Cynderella

Marisol will take advantage of the situation and sleep with Lucas.

Matias needs to get the hint Silvana HATES him.

Dani will end up with someone else.

Araceli most likely going to find out about the secret recipe book.

I don't think Sophia or her family need a load yet, but perhaps Alan would like one to pay off his debt

I mean they don't need a LOAN, not "load".

We both know Lucas will do something stupid and sleep with Marisol, getting her pregnant.

Xint, I can't tell you how much your wonderful recap has lifted my spirits on this dreary Monday.

I thought it was simply spectacular. You skillfully interwove threads of humor and insight into the tapestry of your summary and your screen shots were perfection.

"Besides being ugly, half of Sofia's dress is missing"; "I'm beginning to think Sofia's naivety is sliding over the border to stupidity", "No reason. I just like looking at Armando" were all great. "... tries to distract her with his oily charm. Silvana looks at him like he's some kind of carpet stain" was my favorite.

Sophia's puzzling selection of a hideous dress (from the Tonya Harding collection no doubt) was inexplicable. I expected her to fly down the stairway doing a triple lutz!

I also totally agree with your comments regarding the astounding lack of help for Miguelina. Greta has never been nice to her but this was cruel.

"Greta wants them to enjoy the party too. But not in front of the guests. They are welcome to snack in the kitchen". How sweet of Greta. How democratic.

I'm annoyed by Sil's treatment of Matias. He clearly worships her and she treats him like dirt. And pining after Pato, the worthless vermin is absurd. I do not feel sorry for her in the least.

But I fear that Matias may indeed want to come to Sil's rescue Niecie. I'm hoping that doesn't happen, but his good heart and loving nature will probably prompt him to intercede. Blech.

Pato's cruel baiting of Chava was despicable. It wasn't enough he "won" Sophia, he has to rub Chava's nose in it too. Jarifa, I too am looking forward to Chava and Pato slugging it out. I am fairly certain Pato will be on the losing end of this altercation.

I knew Lucas would be angry when he found out about Dani, but he was more livid that I'd suspected. I fear he will want to go to Marisol on the rebound. As you noted Steve, I fear she will not refuse. This does not bode well.

And Alexa is right, why is Alan waiting to pay Manolo the rest of his money?? But as you noted so astutely "Alan, who apparently did not get any sense knocked into him during that beating, poo-poos the idea". And there you have it.

Irma is taking Nandito to see his prison daddy? Is she out of her mind??

Xint, great title and excellent recap. Gracias!

Diana

I laughed so hard at the dream scene when i saw Pato in it as the chauffeur ,i almost died :)

I am glad that Lucas and Danny broke up.I just don't see the chemistry behind them other than that they must be together.. And i still think Lucas and Isadora are related somehow.

I hate how Alan is the same parasite as always,Alexa needs to put herself together and let Armie throw him out of the house! I would not tolerate that scumbag for a week! I hate him more than i hated Dimitrio from Robo when he was a scumbag.

I guess Irma will have to take drastic measures for the visit to be successful if she wants her marriage to stay alive.. How did Armie last so long with her anyway??

OT, I saw a U tube clip of Alexa and Alan for hurricane relief. They both seemed very sweet and down to earth. Of course, I couldn't understand most of what they said, but they spoke quietly and passionately and very respectfully, letting the other one speak while they listened.

I would like to see Alan in something else, he is doing a good job here.

Diana

Kathy- The pic titles were hilarious, and the recap was a delight. :)

There just aren't enough words to describe how ugly that dress is. I liked Chava's fantasy-- from Sofia's traditional dress, to Pato in a chauffeur uniform. Ha!

How in the world does Irma think she can get away with taking her son to see his bio-dad in prison, without Armie getting really suspicious?

Cynderella, I have started Monday's recap, but thank you so much for offering. You are a gem. :)

I was really hoping Matias would say something about Silvana and Pato to someone. But because he loves her I guess there's not much chance of him doing that, at least not yet.

Diana, the "Tonya Harding Collection". Yes! That's exactly what Sofia's dress looks like, a skating outfit! Too funny!

Diana, Interesting info about Alan and Alexa in a hurricane relief clip. It reminded me that during the Corazon Salvaje version with EY, Alan was a guest on a talk show where the interviewer was all over him to dish dirt on Yanez. Alan laughed it off. Don't think he ever got a chance to talk about his own gypsy character.

Niecie, I'm going to bet Lucas and Marisol will be a couple in the end.

With all its horrible score mortgage loan cash, a company is entitled, as a rule, to find access to as much as $ 15, 000, FICO scores. Areas volume could be increased and check term is generally 1-7 years old, which almost always extends several years are good cash provider allows.

Watching last night, Paco went off on Araceli when she wanted to know more about the secret recipe book.

But she doesn't know she has 3 half sisters.

Steve, i thought that only Sofia was the half sister ,so far.Alexa and Daniela are the biological children of Greta and Octavio.

And could anyone explain why Chava calls his mother "Dona " ? She seems to be too young to be a biological mother to Salvador.Did the drunken Javier give the kids to her and married him? If thats the case then who is the Real mother of Chava and Marisol?
