Hasta el Fin del Mundo #42 20141014 Dude, Your Mom is Smokin' Hot and I'm Feeling Light and Frisky

OK Coral:  Dani and Lucas go horseback riding.  They make-out everywhere.  The only thing that we learn from them is that Dani is a virgin and that Lucas will wait until she’s ready to have sex.  Their scenes were uneventful and were only useful for catching up on my notes on the other scene.

Snob Hill:  Aurora runs into the kitchen and tells the family that Allan has arrived, but unfortunately he’s been beaten only within an inch of his life.  Greta calls a doctor.

(Alexa’s Bedroom)  Alan explains to Greta, Fausto and Alexa that he was out scouting movie sets when he resisted a robbery attempt.   After Greta and Fausto leave, Alan tells Alexa that Manolo and his thugs beat him.  They are still in danger and have to leave town immediately!  Alexa says leaving town won’t cancel their debt.

(Kitchen)  Armando asks Fausto if he believes Alan B.S. about getting robbed.  Fausto doesn’t believe it either.  Armando is concerned that Alan is putting Alexa’s life in danger.  They can’t figure out why she stays with him.  Fausto wants to know why she stole the necklace.  Fausto knows that the beat down isn't fabricated because Alan’s bruises and blood are real.

Later, Armando tries to get Alexa to tell him what’s up with her and Alan.  What’s the truth?  What does he have on her?  Alexa sticks to the robbery story, so Armando goes off in a hissy.

Later Later Later, Alexa watches Armando washing the car in his wife beater.  She remembers him carrying her to bed and her kissing him.  Now would be a great time for the black oil/shower scene.  Just saying!

Ripoll:  (Patrick’s Office) Matias confirms that he saw Patrick and Silvanna getting’ freaky.  Patrick threatens to fire Matias!  Matias says that he will tell Sophia everything!  Patrick switches tactics.  He admits that he got his freak on with Silvana, but only because she threw herself at him.  She’s sexy and irresistible, but he loves Sophia!  Patrick says that Silvana will get the big pink slip unless Matias convinces her to leave Patrick alone.  As soon as Matias leaves, Patrick calls Silvana and tells her how to handle Matias.

(Sophia’s Office)  Chava is spittin’ game to Sophia when they are interrupted by Paco, who wants wants to speak with her immediately.  Chava can’t believe that Paco, his friend is blocking his rap with the girl of his dreams!  On the way to Sophia’s office, Paco is amazed to see the evidence of how much Octavio and Coria profited from his chocolate recipes.  He sees the courtyard, the murals of chocolate and the factory.  He also sees a picture of Greta on her desk.

Paco asks Sophia if she’s knows who he is.  She knows he’s the guy who owns the kiosk across the street.  She is aware that he doesn’t sell Ripoll chocolate.  She asks why he thinks that “Ripoll” is a four-letter word.  She wants to know who at Ripoll offended him and did he know her father? Paco gives her his recipe book.  She thinks the recipe book belonged to Coria.  Paco explains that he created the recipes long before the factory was built.  Sophia becomes concerned that he is implying Octavio and Coria were thieves.  Why didn’t he make these accusations while Coria was alive?  She calls Paco an opportunist and thinks he’s there for money.  Paco explains that the recipe book shackled him and made him bitter.  He regrets not coming forth before Coria croaked.  He doesn’t want any money.  The book was a burden.  He’s there to give that burden (the precious) to her.  She orders him out of her office.  He leaves the book (his burdens) with her.  Sophia picks it up.  Very symbolic scene.

(Outside) Chava asks Paco why he blocked his rap!  Paco explains that he gifted Sophia his recipe book.  When Chava and the boys were at Cucos dancing like the Villiage Idiots, (ahem People, he meant to say dancing like the Village People), Paco noticed that Sophia very was different from the other Ripolls.  Anyway, the book was a burden to him and he gave that burden to Sophia.  I feel light and at peace, he says.   “And Now I can go hit on your smokin’ mother!  Wish me luck!”

(Sophia’s Office) Chava vouches for Paco.  He tells Sophia that he’s known him for years and he’s an honest man.  Translation:  if Paco says your dad was a crook, he was a crook.  Sophia yells that Paco is banned for life from the Ripoll factory.  He implied that her father and Maestro Coria were low-down dirty chocolate recipe thieves.  Chava tells her that he will talk to Paco and drill him for more information.  In the meanwhile, he invites her for a walk in the park and some ice cream.  She turns him down because she has to plan her engagement party.  When he leaves she picks up “the burden” and asks how she will be able to accept her destiny.

(Breakroom)  Marisol notices that Matias is upset.  He says that his woman has been taken advantage of by a pervert.  Marisol mentions her problems with Lucas.  Matias tells her that Lucas is “just not that into you”.  Both Lucas and Dani are out on PTO today.  Did she notice?  She gets pissed.

(Silvana’s Office)  Matias confronts Silvana.  He wants to know how she could betray him and her best friend.  What is wrong with him that she can’t accept his love?  He would make her that happiest woman on earth.  She tells him that she has to have her some Patty Cakes.  She is in love with Patrick.  She agrees to stop tempting Patrick and will try to stop loving him.  Matias will help her.  She rolls their eyes when he hugs her.

When she is alone, Silvana recalls her conversation with Patrick…the one where he told her that they would be together once he bankrupts Ripoll.  Her thoughts are interrupted by Sophia and Patrick who have come to ask her to plan the engagement party.   Yes, the one where she is the “guest of honor”.  Oh the joy!  Sophia allows Chava to drive Silvana to around in order to plan the party.  Later, while they are out, Silvana notices that Chava is upset.  He tells her that he is in love with an engaged woman.  Silvana encourages him to fight tooth and nail for that woman.

Back in her office Sophia calls home looking her mother.  Fausto answers and tells her that the doctor checked Alan and he will live.  Greta is looking for Dani who is not answering her cell phone.  Sophia remembers a conversation that she had with Greta a while back.  Greta told her that she vaguely remembers that Paco used to work at the factory, but quit after he argued with Octavio.  Sophia hangs up without speaking with her mother.  Sophia declares to herself that she will solve the recipe book mystery.

Cuco’s:  Lupe and Cuco notice Paco enter.  They make a bet on who Paco will bellow at first.  When Paco comes over, he tells Lupe how pretty she is.  He wants to take her out for drinks and dinner (hopefully someplace classy and not Cuco’s).  Anyways, they are surprised by his new attitude.  He explains that he gave his burden (the precious…aka the recipe book) to Sophia Ripoll.  Now she has a big fat burden to carry and he feels light and horny.  He wants to blow whisper in Lupe's ear.  He tries to walk her home to her front door, but she doesn't seem interested in the "horny" part.

Cynderella, what an enjoyable recap! ". . . unfortunately he was beaten only within an inch if his life." and "He implied that her father and Maetro Coria were low-down dirty chocolate recipe thieves." were my faves. Thanks.

Sofía sure was taken aback by Chava's vouching for Paco because deep down she knows he would only tell her the truth. She does have a mystery to solve now. Greta was quick with her story about how she knew Paco when Sofía asked her about him.

Paco now feels "liberated and at peace" so the first thing he does is try to go out with Lupe. Too funny. It will be hard to get used to the smiling jolly Paco.

Armando told Fausto that Alan is putting Alexa in danger and then tells her the same thing but that he is there to protect her. He has been snookered in by the "poor little powerless me" act. It turns out Alexa like Sofía likes watching her driver wash the car. Too funny.

Hilarious recap, Cyn!

I loved hearing Cesar Evora's signature belly laugh and smile. It's been too long. I think it might take Lupe a while to adjust to the New Paco before she can compute that he's also coming on to her. :)

Outstanding Cynderella.

"Aurora runs into the kitchen and tells the family that Allan has arrived, but unfortunately he’s been beaten only within an inch of his life"; "Now would be a great time for the black oil/shower scene. Just saying!" and "He’s there to give that burden (the precious) to her" were only a few of my favorites.

I'm glad Paco surrendered the recipe book - he did seem lighter. Hearing that great Cesar Evora laugh (when he was with Lupe and Cuco) was music to my ears. That smile! That voice! Hoping he has dumped those doldrums and is ready to start a new chapter in his life. I still am hoping Greta will be "the one". Lupe can have her commandante.

Carlos, I agree with your comment yesterday, I am still uneasy with Pato knowing Matias saw him and Sil. I give Matias credit for his honesty and of course, he wants to protect Sil who doesn't give a rat's whatever about him.

And Sil mooning over Pato's empty promises was sickening. Why doesn't she use that fabulous mind for good and care about someone who is worthy? Why settle for very sloppy seconds.

Lucas and Dani. FF...

Vivi, I don't know if anyone was going to recap last night's LM episode, but could you please provide guidance as to where we might leave comments if Gloria or another recapper doesn't do a summary? Thanks so much.

Diana

Wow. Jarifa and Vivi our comments crossed. Looks like we are all on the same wavelength about our favorite lines and the wonderful Cesar.

Diana

Diana- I'll post a discussion page and send a note to Gloria to ask.

Vivi, big question is whether Armando finds out the truth about Irma ?

Cynderella – Fab recap. I too loved “only within an inch of his life.”

It’s going to take me awhile to get use to New Paco. Nope, I don’t like him for Lupe. Detective Fuzzy, time for you to beat it back to the barrio for a home visit.

I like that Sofia is thinking through what Paco told her, though of course initially she stuck up for her dad Octavio. She knows Greta is lying. The OCD in me is wondering if Paco at least made an extra copy of the recipe book.

I’m done done done looking for Silvana’s redemption. Her eyeroll behind Matias’ back was too much. Lady, Matias is the only person besides your brother and Sofia that gives a damn about you. Looking forward to Pato double-crossing you real good.

I like horses. Too bad Lucas and Dani got in the way.

Niecie: All I kept thinking was that, "geez, I sure hope Dani's first time isn't in the barn with the horses. That has got to stink! How romantic can that possibly be?"

Matias is kind of a moron. I like him, but I would have sung like a canary AND I would have been hired as the new MAESTRO of chocolate of Ripoll.

The new Paco scares me. Kind of like when Wednesday Adams. Please see the youtube video for an example:

Thank you Cynderella, this was very funny! I don't think Paco's new mood will last very long. He'll cross paths with Greta very soon.

Yeah Alan, running away is great idea. It worked so well for you the last time.... what an idiot.

It's almost too bad that Matias is such a nice guy. When Pato confessed, Matias didn't realize that at that moment he was holding all the cards. I would have liked to see Matias make Pato squirm for a while.

I so wish Maria's had a more devious mind. Pato was totally at his mercy. But it was him integrity and innocence that showed Pato that he couldn't intimidate him into silence, and instead had to appeal to his heart.

Mariano not Maria.

Vivi, secrets and secrets inside the Ripoli family.

Paco will have cross paths with Greta sooner or later. I'm waiting for someone to pull a Maury Povich
