De Que Te Quiero Te Quiero #163- Monday 8/25/14

De que no dijeron NADA del testamento, no dijeron NADA

Refrito
  • That stupid making puma sounds business.
  • Nat “saves” Diego. Mouth to mouth.
Lo Nuevo
Luz tell Lupita that El and Carmen are getting back together. Lupita asks if she can call her “abuela” instead of “madrina.”

Simona comes back and she’s looking for Diego. Carmen notes her splotchy appearance. Simona explains.

Diego tells Nat she’s the love of his life. Nat says he’s the love of her life. She wants assurances that he’s not just being impulsive and she wonders about Simona. He assures her he loves her and that Simona has left the campsite and him. They smooch and hit the ground.

The Garcias continue to comment on Simona’s bee stings. She explains about running into a bee hive (panal) getting stung while Diego was getting kindling. She tells them she left a note. She thought maybe he was with the Garcias. Irene has something for the itching. When they go off El asks Carmen where Nat is. She assumes somewhere with Paul.

Diego and Nat continue to revel in their reconciliation. Nat wants to yell to the winds how much she loves him.

El and Carmen think it’s best not to mention that Nat is not at the campsite either. El thinks she’s with Diego.

The two love birds return and Simona hops up with a kiss. She babbles about the bees and the antihistamine. Diego just mumbles. Nat looks on and Carmen asks what’s up. Nat just tells her Diego ran into her while she was walking.

Rod tells himself he has to escape. He has to take advantage of the hospital visit. He won't be able to escape from jail. He opens the door and notices the guard.

Diego daydreams. Simona wants to head back and rest. They leave. Natalia kicks herself for once again falling for his pretty words. Carmen comforts her and Natalia explains that Diego had told her Simona was out of the picture. Unfortunately, the minute he saw Simona again he went off with her. Natalia didn’t matter at all. Carmen tells her to let him go and that time will heal all wounds. Natalia should move on.

Rod yells about his pain when the guard comes in to investigate, Rod overpowers him and takes his gun. The next time we see him, he’s in a janitor’s uniform and pushing a mop bucket so he’s able to avoid detection as alarms sound.

Cenudo radios El on the most powerful walkie talkie I’ve seen (seriously? all the way from the DF?) He informs El of the assault and the transfer to the hospital for placas (x-rays). El assumes someone beat Rod and Al confesses that Rod started talking about Alberto which drove Al nuts (me sacó de mis casillas) Al was the one who beat up Rod. Carmen doesn’t blame Al, but El is a little annoyed that Al lost his cool. El heads out. Abdul will take El’s car and Luz back to the city.

Simona and Diego have stopped at a diner. She notices how quiet he is. Diego tells her he and Nat made love and breaks up with her.

El tells Alonso that Rod planned it all and Al should have kept his cool. Al declares what we’ve known all along—that’s he’s an embecile. El tells him not to feel bad. Rod is smarter than anyone thought and if anyone is to blame it’s the guys in charge of guarding him. They were dealing with a murderer and they should have taken more precautions.

Rod on the streets mumbling about money and getting out of the city.

Diego explains he ran into Nat at the arroyo and things just happened. He loves Nat and can’t deny it. Simona is a class act. She thought she could help him forget Nat, but she can’t. She hopes he’s not mistaken and that Nat knows how to return his love. Simona she knows he was sincere in trying to make a go at it with her, but it didn’t work. She wishes him luck and gets ready to go. He wants to take her home, but she wants to take a taxi. She asks him to let her go. She maintains her dignity despite the distracting bee-sting makeup that they really didn’t have to put on her face. It ruined the scene for me (TN note: her calm demeanor is too good to be true. Could there be another character assassination in the next 4 days?) Diego is cara de I suck.

Rod robs a mini-mart

El goes to Carmen’s apartment. He tells her about Rodrigo’s escape. She gets pithed because she thinks he’s trying to say she’s going to help him. She says he didn’t believe her when she told him about Rod’s last escape attempt. She agrees to let El know if Rod contacts her, but she isn’t coming off as happy about it.

Diego shows up at Irene’s and…do I have to recap this part? Ok, I’ll do it….but under duress….(I assume it's bad form to invoke the RPC during últimos capítulos.) Nat doesn’t want him to come in. She tells him she got his message loud and clear: he’s with Simona. He has to force himself in to explain that he was just trying to keep things from being complicated. I told Simona the truth: that he and Nat are in love. (Recapper's rant: I am on Diego’s side on this one. Did Nat want him to break up with Simona publicly at the campground? Come on, Nat. He was trying to have some class. Why are you being such a be-yotch?) Anyhoo…she doesn’t believe he’s broken up with Simona. She’s firmly convinced that if she and Diego had not run into each other and made love, he would have gotten back with Simona when she returned from her medical treatment. She kicks him out. Irene asks Nat about throwing him out; Nat didn’t believe him? Why not? “Just because “ is Nat’s well-articulated response. sheesh.

Cenudo informs El about the robbery. The suspect was in a hospital janitor uniform and fit Rod’s description.

Irene still questions Nat. If Diego said he broke up with Simona, why isn’t Nat denying him a chance? Nat stubbornly insists that Diego would have given Simona another chance. She assumes he is, in fact, headed for Simona’s right now. What happened at the campsite was just a chance encounter. Irene asks what happened and Nat just tells her it’s something that will never happen again. Irene asks if Nat mentioned Rod’s escape. Nat tells her no. Irene immediately calls and tells Diego about the beatdown, hospital visit and escape. (thank goodness. Nat is clearly all about Nat right now. Rod’s escape is something Diego needs to know.)
The mini-mart folks ID Rod from a picture line up. El gives Cenudo instructions to get descriptions of the stolen valuables and distribute them to the area pawn shops.

Diego arrives at Al’s and asks him why he didn’t tell him about punching Rod. Al feels bad because now Rod escapes. Diego worries about his abuelo’s safety. Al asks about Nat. Diego explains about Nat not believing him.

Nat flashesback to the arroyo luvin’ and Simona’s appearance at camp. She mutters about not believing Diego.

Diego asks Al why Nat won’t believe him. He asks Al what he should do. Al thinks if he knew, he would be doing the same thing himself. Al convinces Diego to be aloof and indifferent. That seemed to get her attention last time. Diego is intrigued.

Rod counts cash and grunts about his pain. He gets up to go to a pharmacy to buy some meds, but mumbles about going tomorrow in different clothes. He lies on the bed and doesn’t get much further.

Diego is worried about Vicente. He and Irene ask Vicente to be careful. Vicente is afraid if the police catch Rod, they’ll kill him. It would be a painful and sad end.

Nat sketches and daydreams.

Rod tries to pawn a madallion from the robbery. The shop owner recognizes it and trips a silent alarm, but Rod draws his gun, clocks the guard and escapes.

Morales heard about the escape. El won’t stop until Rod is caught. Morales tells El that he and Kimberly have set a date for the wedding. At first El thinks the rushed date is because Morales is going to be a daddy, but that's not the case. Morales and Kim are taking advantage of his week off before heading to Merida. Not the same the same job El was offered--Morales will be in charge of the white collar crime division. Cenudo calls and informs El they've found the hotel Rod is staying at.

Brat at the laudromat. Her workmate talks. She asks if it's true that Brat is the daughter of the Frenchie Doctor. Brat says he is. The workmate can't believe her dad would let her at such a crappy job. Paul shows up and Brat whines and kvetches. He says something about learning to be a better person. Keep dreaming Mushroom Man.

Police search Rod's room. He see's them leaving the hotel.

Diego ignores Nat at the office. She pouts and assumes he's back with Simona. He gloats and things the indifference thing is working. Was that love I saw in her eyes? (Was that eyerolling I saw from Viwerville? Aren't we supposed to be past this?)

El is back at the office bemoaning how close they were to getting Rod. They are going to catch him no matter what. Luz calls him and invites him over for enchiladas de chipilín.

Al interrupts Karina and HOTscar's (Oscar) dinner. Karina tells him they are engaged. They want to get hitched ASAP.

Nat texts Diego "Are you back with Simona?" He ignores it.

HOTscar thinks it's a good idea to marry before the baby is born so they can register the child in his name. Even Karina is not cool with this. HOTscar leaves. Karina asks Al to do something. She doesn't want to lose HOTscar.

El arrives at Luz's. She says she needs to go out and get bolillos (rolls), which El finds a bit odd since she was preparing enchiladas. He shrugs it off.

Rod holds a guy up and the guy is a black-belt in azz kicking. It's hilarious.

Nat frets about Diego not answering her texts. She is not going to lose again!

Luz runs downstairs and asks Carmen if she can use her phone (I didn't catch her explanation of why her phone didn't work...I was taking notes.) While she pretends to talk to Dolores, she tells Carmen she left some milk on the stove. Could Carmen go take care of it for her. Once Carmen is up there (with El), Luz locks them in and says they can't come out until they make up. Lupita approves.

Rod rops a pharmacy to get some injections for his pain. Before he pulled his gun, the pharmacist explains he will need to find someone who is good at finding the veins to do the injection (again, half listening. Did he say PERSON or just "you'll need to find the vein"?)

El and Carmen talk it out. He finally gets to say his well-rehearsed "te amo." Carmen admits that even though it wasn't a falling star, she wished on the comet and it came true. Smoochies and special effects.

Avances
  • No mention of the will
  • Diego has divorce papers?

Thanks so much Sara. I thoroughly enjoyed your recap (as well as the episode itself).

1. You wrote "El goes to Carmen’s apartment. He tells her about Rodrigo’s escape."

For those who haven't seen the episode, it sounds like El spike to Carmen instead of Bridgette.
(Not a criticism, just an observation).

2a. "(Could there be another character assassination in the next 4 days?)
b. (Was that eyerolling I saw from Viwerville? Aren't we supposed to be past this?)"

For some reason we can't seem to move past this. With only 4 nights left, there's so many other things we could focus on and loose ends to tie us.

Loved Luz's Lupita-like plan.

Writers, you have four days to get me to stop hating Nat.

Simona was a class act.

Laugh out loud moment: Rod's a$$-kicking.

Nanette

Simona IS a class act.

Gracias, Sara, for getting through this one..."Diego is cara de I suck." pretty much sums it up.

4 days to go and yet another make-up/break-up of Nat and Diego is the way they decide to keeeep stretching it out? Was there a writers strike that I was unaware of? Did someone lose a bet? Were mind-altering substances involved? Is this really the best they can do with 4 days to go?

I got stung by a bee a few months ago and my entire hand swelled up. It sure didn't look like Simona's bites, so yep, that was distracting!

Poor Mushroom Man. He fathered a fungus.

Rod and Diego must have been bred for toughness. He seriously should not have been able to overpower the guard, change his clothes unassisted, or keep walking after the ninja jogger laid the smackdown on him.

I'm soooo glad Simona left the idiot with her dignity intact. On to bigger and better things, I'm sure.

Enough now with the I love you/I hate you/I never want to see you again/waaaaah, why doesn't he answer me ridiculousness that is/are Natalia and Diego. Ya basta! She doesn't even look pretty to me any more. I don't care what the dialogue is, I'm FF>> every time they show her face.

http://masquetelenovelas.blogspot.com/2014/08/ana-brenda-y-colunga-protagonizara.html PeePee the Flying Mouse!

"Cenudo radios El on the most powerful walkie talkie I’ve seen (seriously? all the way from the DF?)"

Good point, Sara. Just one of the many ABSURDITIES in this über-annoying episode.

Before I go on an extended rant, I loved the vocabulary...panal, placa and the so-often used "sacarse de sus casillas". A good reminder that we're watching this basura so we can improve our Spanish.

"Al declares what we've known all along--he's an imbecile." And jeez, not being content with having helped Rodrigo escape from custody, he now busts up Karina's engagement with some more meddling.

"Cara de I suck" and "Do I have to recap this part?" Oh yeah, I hear ya, girl.

Frankly I think Natalia has some serious personality issues. Could we call her Borderline Personality, Diva? She sure seems to fit the description...at least as far as Diego goes. Lord!, I've come to despise that girl. And Alonzo too.

Simona, on the other hand, is a jewel. She just needs to move on to another telenovela where she can be the heroine.

Would have ended the evening in a total tantrum (hmmm...maybe I've got Borderline issues) but the writers saved it by finally, finally getting El and Carmen together. Whew! and Yay!

Love your style, Sara. Thanks. Now go give those Spanish students a pop quiz. Show 'em who's boss.

Hello Sara, thank you very much for the recap it was great. My wife chastised me for quitting on a TN in the last week, so I missed the first 15 minutes but caught Diego and simona's break-up. Simona, a class act to the end. This shows the difference between a girl and a woman. We see how Natalia took it when Diego was Simona, and we see how Simona handles it. I was proud of Simona, and was sad that this happened to her. I agree with Judy, I think Natalia has some serious issues, and I could now see her as a mother. Not at her current maturity level. I agree with you 5ft, Rod was in no condition to do what he did, but since when did the writers let facts and reality get in the way of lazy writing. I'm also loving how Paul is handling Brigette, he may have made a mistake leaving but he's doing pretty good with father skills.
I actually agree with Alonso, it was far too soon for karina and the orderly to get married. Curious how the writers going to handle this.
Rod getting his behind whooped by the jogger was priceless. I guess every now and then the writers get something right.

"She just needs to move on to another telenovela where she can be the heroine."

Amen!!! I've been thinking for the last couple episodes that I would love to see Laura Carmine again (This is the first time I'v seen her.) She's cute as a button and did very well with this role. I can't imagine her as a bad girl!!

I hope everyone will forgive my curmudgeonly recaps. I'm doing tonight's, too and the avances don't look much better. As you've all noted: THERE ARE ONLY FOUR DAYS LEFT!! Like CI, this started out with so much promise and was so entertaining and now it's just leaving me frustrated.

Did anyone catch or understand the avances? Who does Diego have to divorce? I thought Rod filled in for him....or is this a red herring?

Sara, love it.

"She babbles about the bees and the antihistamine. Diego just mumbles."

Uh. Never mind.

Hot Rod - Jean Claude Van Dammit that hurt

Nat - high maintenance

Simona - whew, I dodged a bullet

Diego - worthless sack

El - I closed that deal

Oscar - I don't know how you did it but you made Alonso look sane

Lupita - I'm gonna have a daddy

Luz - “Talk amongst yourselves”

"Jean Claude Van Dammit that hurt."

Hahaha!

You can see Laura Carmine as the bad girl Ximena in AMOR BRAVIO.

Natalia slams the door in Diego's face, upbraids him but the next day at Caprico wonders why he's not kissing her ass and if that means he's gone back to Simona.

Why is Diego running around town when he knows Rod is on the loose? He didn't learn from last time?

Sara, this was very well written and I thought your comments and observations were splendid.

"Al declares what we’ve known all along—that’s he’s an embecile" was my favorite along with "Diego is cara de I suck".

Like others, I am frustrated with the Nat-Diego does he/doesn't he musings at this late stage. We are way past that, even if they aren't. Nat is solely focusing on herself. First, she not have an iota of guilt that Diego was breaking up with Simona, who clearly loved Diego. Then, she compounds insult to injury that Diego left with Simona. Could she truly not figure out that he wanted to break up with her privately? Where is the trust? Sadly, there is none at this late stage.

And as to how Simona handled it, Bryan, you said it perfectly "this shows the difference between a girl and a woman".

And as for Diego, "He asks Al what he should do". Never, ever ask Al. Anything.

So up until now pretty much perfect HOTscar wants the baby to have his name? Makes no sense as is another blaring mis-step by the writers to create more friction.

Loved that Lupita wants to call Luz abuela. Luz has a few well placed tricks up her sleeve. Lupita's student has done well. As you noted Nanette "Loved Luz's Lupita-like plan".

tofie, your list was smokin hot but agree "Hot Rod - Jean Claude Van Dammit that hurt" was the best!

Sara, the events have been frustrating so thank you for forging ahead with your ususal style and humor. It is greatly appreciated.

Diana

Sara-I haven't seen the episode yet, so thank you for roughing it out and giving us the gory details.

Whew! I'm so glad the writers allowed Simona to depart with her head held high, although bee stung. Now Nat and Diego can carry on with their games without hurting a third party.

Looking forward to seeing Luz and Lupita put their plan into action.

Gracious,
I say let those of us who are tires of hearing about Diego, Nat and Simona bow out now.
I want to keep the focus on them and the terrible job the writers did. It's beyond forgiving that they forced Simona into such an humble role. Actors used to audition for these roles, I guess those days are gone. What about the directors and producers? Can't they have some "chop"? It's almost as if they don't care what we think. End of rant. I don't even care about Tiburcio at his point. Nor do I care about the Will or the fate of the 2 babies involved. Once they killed off Alberto and Tad things started going down hill. I liked the outfit Nat had on but her attitude spoiled the effect. Why didn't they put Simona in that one. Sure, Simona was a real bitch in Amore Bravio but I guess the stupid writers attempted to show that actors can play different personalities. All they accomplished was sucking us in to believing that since Simona got a raw deal in this novela she's owed a heroine role in the next one. Nat sure is acting childish. Diego is scum. If those two get together in the end, I'm done with writers novela trash.

@Bored, I'm with you on the job the writers did with that little triangle. In TV shows and books, new characters are introduced to bring something more to the story. for the life of me, I can't understand why Simona was brought in. I can only guess it was a way of showing us that Diego didn't have the maturity to handle a serious relationship with a true woman and because his maturity level was the same as Natalia's, they belong together. My biggest concern was what was going to happen to Simona and I didn't want to see her disgraced or dragged through the mud, and I'm glad she left with her head held high. This wasn't her fault, she just trusted someone who wasn't ready for someone like her. Do Diego and Nat get back together? I couldn't care less, I'm more curious about Karina and Oscar's storyline now.

Hi, Sara,

Thank you for your soldiering through this mish-mash, and turning in an entertaining recap.

This is beginning to seem like a bad remake of "50 First Dates" with stupidity being the problem rather than a traumatic brain injury.

I wish the kung fu guy had stuck around and captured Rod.

How did Luz succeed in locking Carmen and El INSIDE the apartment? Locks don't work like that.

David

Natalia didn't have any remorse for Simona getting dumped by Diego, but then again, Natalia didn't have much remorse for Diana getting dumped by Diego either.

David- Actually, some doors do work like that, especially in other countries. When I visited friends in Egypt the other year, I was alone in the apartment for a few days. The main door could be locked from the outside, and could only be opened from the inside with a key in the upper lock. If you somehow didn't have your key inside the house, and someone left and locked the door, you could be locked in! My friend always reminded me to make sure I knew where my key was before he left. Crazy! And a fire/emergency hazard.

No, Nat probably doesn't have anything that meets criteria for a disorder. She's just being annoying.

I had forgotten about the divorce. I think the characters forgot about it, too. There was the question of who was going to actually sign the papers and get on Nat's good side and then I forget what distracted them from that and sent them all in a different direction. Alberto's death, maybe? He was the one handling pretty much everyone's legal affairs. Wait, wait, I'm remembering! One of the twins had agreed to sign papers and Nat accepted. The papers were signed, but they had to have some meetings with the judge before it would become final. The day after the signing was the day Big Al sent his secretary to his car to get the papers in the back seat and she found Brigitte's cell with the incriminating texts from Rod about paying her...he kicked her out, stayed out all night drinking, and got killed the next day. Was that it?

Vivi, I stand corrected. Thanks for sharing that info. I guess Egypt doesn't have some kind of government safety organization or building code laws?

Have you watched "Memphis Belle" yet? It was on one of the movie channels last night. If you ever do watch it I would like to know what you thought of it.

David

David- I haven't watched it yet. I will let you know, for sure.

Sara: Loved the recap.

What is up with the writers? Are we supposed to feel sympathy for Nat? I was thinking the same thing, Sara. Did she expect Diego to break up with Simona in front of everyone? That’s something I’m sure Nat would have done.

Diego again playing games?

Are we supposed to consider Al persistent in getting his one true love instead of his being at best insensitive and at worst a stalker in training?

Granted, we don’t know much about Oscar. But that was a bit of a curve ball.

It’s as if the writers ran out of ideas and realized they had one week to go and they need to add some last minute suspense.

I hate the way Nat calls Simona “Senora Perfecto”. She is a better woman than her. In this case maybe I should say a better “female” than her. Maybe deep down she recognizes that.

This is the first TN I’ve watched where the comments for the Ultimas Capitulos has been consistently way lower than 100.

At least Carmen and El are together. Of course, we do have four more eps to break them up and get them back together again a few more times.

OT: caught a little of the 10:00 TN. Saw El and Juventino (Robo).

Nanette

Bryan: I see we agree about the difference between Simona and Nat.

The problem with making Simona a heroine in another TN is that they'll give her some sort of annoying flaw. They could go the route of Amor Bravio--Camila was a great heroine, not perfect, but perfectly believable--but they would probably get that disease called Writers' Laziness.

I was hoping that Rod's demise would be internal bleeding. But then I thought that would put Al in trouble. I don't care too much for Al, but don't want him to go to prision for involuntary manslaughter. Though they could blame Rod's walking around and getting his a$$ kicked.

I have been thinking about the divorce off and on and just assumed Rod would die and solve the problem. Maybe this is part of Diego's/Al's so mature plan to get Nat back. What?! I don't know. I'm so confused.

David: you have me intrigued about Memphis Belle. I looked it up on IMDb. Has a great cast. Lots of my favs. I'm going to have to check it out. Also, noticed there are a few docs about MB. Think I'll keep a look out for those as well.

Bored- You should watch Ni Contigo Ni Sin Ti. It's a cute tn, with Laura Carmine as the heroine. Her character was a lot like Simona-- she was a hard working, middle class, fashion designer. That was her first major role, THEN she went on to play the bad girl in Amor Bravio. Then she played both the heroine and the antagonist in Quien Eres Tu, and then another bad girl (more like a shrew/pest) in La Tempestad. Now she's back to a good girl. She also had a tiny role as a horny, cheating wife in Por Ella Soy Eva. Don't worry. She's not being typecast. So far she's been better able than most tn actors to go between playing the good girl lead or supporting player, and the bad girl. It's pretty impressive. I'm looking forward to whatever major role she has next.

Simona is the first young woman Nat has come across that people recognize is clearly superior to her but without the arrogance. Nat is jealous, envious, covets other women's bf & husbands, lies, misrepresents, manipulative, snide, rude, petulant, pouty, sneaky, a poser, a butt kisser and tries to physically intimidate if all else fails. Nat and Brigitte are not much different, except Brigitte hasn't perfected the art of kissing butt.

How in the world has Alonso kept his license much less any clients. Rod should be thankful his wrench was not within reach when Alonso attacked him.

Diego is a cheater and a spoiled child.

Sara thanks for the recap. Sorry the episode was so bad.

The character assassinations seem to have started. Oscar wanting the baby to have his name and he an Karina getting married. Where did that come from? Even Abdul and Mali were together longer.

Unfortunately I also see the writers bad attempt to break up Nat and Diego in these last weeks as the start of their characters becoming something very different than the two sweet kids we met at the beginning of this tn. No, there weren't perfect at the start, but Nat didn't behave like Brat and Diego was more clueless than inconsiderate. I feel we truly got shafted with these changes in the leads.

And Nanette summed up my feelings for Al: Are we supposed to consider Al persistent in getting his one true love instead of his being at best insensitive and at worst a stalker in training? We would the writers think we would want Irene with him even w/Tad dead.

Tofie- I would only say that Nat is many of those things with Simona. I wouldn't agree that she is like that in the rest of her life. In fact, when she first re-encountered Diego, she reacted to Diana's childish jealousy in a very mature way-- much the same way Simona is reacting to Nat's childish jealousy. I don't think Nat is a kiss up at all. When she is nice to people (which was the case up till Simona) it was genuine, with no expectation or desire for anything in return. Other than her immature relationship with Diego (including allowing Andres to enter in), her psycho relationship with Rod, and now Simona, I think Nat has always been a genuinely good person-- a good sister and a good daughter.

@vivi, because I missed the beginning of this TN I didn't see how Nat was in the beginning or even the middle. What I did see was a woman who was confronted with adversity and behaved in the worst possible way. They say you see the real person when adversity rears it's ugly head, and with Nat we saw a very ugly person. Anyone can be a good person when things are going your way, but how do you react when confronted with a challenge? To me this is the real Nat, a selfish, immature little girl who can't stand things not going her way all the time. Doing something bad one time to someone and regretting it later would say a lot about someone, but Nat has no regrets about her treatment of Simona and it speaks volumes. Someone stated that she isn't much different than Brig, and I agree. The things she's saying about Simona are almost verbatim what Brigette was saying about her. Maybe the writers didn't realize how bad her character would become to viewers but I can't stand her or Diego, they belong together.

I agree Nat was all those sweet things you mention Vivi, until there was real competition. This nastiness was just lying in the weeds. Hard to believe she suffered a sexual assault and didn't go off the rails but place her beside another worthy female. Cat fight

I think the change in Nat's character started when the writers had her rejecting Diego because couldn't tell the twins apart but running to Rodrigo's aid (and when called out about it, rejected Diego).

It's almost as if the writers wanted to have it where Natalia was in love with both twins but realized Uh...Rod's a vile attempted rapist & attempted murderer so maybe we can't go there.

Well, if the writers wanted me to think she was torn between two lovers they won. Diego received three slaps from her to every one for Rod.

Bryan- Even in the beginning when things were tough (near rape, thought she and Andres murdered someone, had to flee to D.F.), and her competition was Diego's pregnant wife, she didn't act this way. This is something the writers decided to do to her character during the final third of the tn.

Perhaps the writers got feedback that the audience thought Nat was too sweetness and light and a pushover in the first part of the tn, so they decided to make her "strong" in the last part, which just meant turning her into a shrew?

From the prior comments I've read concerning Nat, it seems like many people are shocked at her change, Viv. So it must have been a drastic change that the writers have done. I never saw that Nat you and others talk about, but she must have been a sweetheart to have upset so many people with this new persona. the first episode I caught was when Nat, Irene and Diego was in an office and Natalia walked out and Irene told Diego that Nat was definitely her daughter, but how would she tell her. This piqued my curiosity so I just continued watching it to see what would happened and I was hooked.

Vivi: thanks for the list of Laura Carmine's credits. She's very impressive.

Bryan: At the beginning, Nat was super nice. A lot of times a bit too naive. You have no idea how many times she took abuse from Brat and, not only forgave her, but helped her out. This personality transplant is almost as bad as Angela's.

Thanks, everyone!

Kat- A special thanks for remembering the divorce business. That feels like forever ago.

Why in the world did they edit the stew out of the beginning? I would rather have had them edit the extension part.

I think Oscar got carried away with wanting to "rescue" Karina from her terrible situation, but innocently went about it the wrong way. He fell hard and fast for her and I wouldn't doubt if all he's been hearing from her is how she's alone in the world and how she doesn't have any kind of support from the father of her child, who doesn't want anything to do with her. He (Oscar) probably assumed the toad didn't want anything to do with the baby, either. If he had been trying to snatch the kid from Alonso, I don't think he would have blurted his intention to do so just like that. I think he genuinely (though definitely naively) thought Karina would be happy that he wants the baby as his own.

What Mexico episode # broadcast was this? Any editing towards the end?
