De Que Te Quiero, Te Quiero #138 - Mon 7/21

De que se volvió viral, volvió viral

Diego visits the Cacares House of Horrors to tell Lala (not Hilda) about his plans to help Tiburcio recover, so he can tell everyone what he knows about Alberto's murder.  Lala will be in charge of administering the medication.

Carmen sits Mally down at the fonda to talk to her about the upcoming nuptials and give Mally her blessing.

Lala makes an unnecessary grocery list to get Hilda out of the house.  As Hilda points out, there's plenty of food for the few people left.

Luz comes to the fonda to catch up with Carmen.  And, more importantly, find out if Carmen is going to jump into Paul the Mushroom Man's arms.  Hell no! says Carmen.  She happily tells Luz about Abdul's upcoming wedding and they joke that she really needs to change the name of a certain crab dish on the fonda's menu.

Eleazar enlists Lupita to help him figure out what he said the day he was drugged out of his mind.  La Detective Lupita is on the case!

Lala explains to Tiburcio that the medication should help him recover faster.  She brings up Rodrigo, which agitates him.  She gets his consent…well, if we think the deliberate blinking means anything…and wrestles a pill past his clenched teeth.  Lala calls Diego/Alonso and Alonso gives Lala some additional instructions to get Tiburcio to exercise and to give him massages.

Rodrigo leaves work, so Rosa plugs in the hard drive to see what he's been up to.

Somebody has been following Diego around and uploading video of his "forgive me" antics to the Internet.  Alonso's having a big laugh over Diego's fall.  Diego somehow thinks that the number of views should be useful for helping him sway Natalia.

Rod goes back upstairs because he forgot his keys.  Rosa conveniently leaves in search of more coffee.  Rod somehow recognizes that Rosa's looking at what he thinks are his files.  I don't know about you, but if I just see somebody's screen up with extra large, generic icons, that's not exactly a red flag.

Lupita helps Carmen with the laundry and asks about the Mushroom Man's present…and then asks about Eleazar.  Carmen explains she wishes El behaved a little differently….

Rod pulls the external drive and makes sure Rosa's computer doesn't have any of his files left on it.  She returns with coffee and questions her.  Rosa tells him that Grumps saw his files, too, and it's the reason he had a heart attack.  He demands she call the tech so he can verify there are no other copies.

Lupita calls El and tells him she found out how Carmen wants El to act.  First off, stop being so grumpy; be nicer, say pretty things…whatever the last thing on Lupita's list is, El refuses to do it.  Lupita lays down the law…"Do it!  I don't want to have to learn how to say 'dad' in French."

The tech confirms there was only 1 copy and it's the one he gave to Rosa.  Rod says he's going to fire the tech.  Rosa tries to elicit some guilt over robbing from the company and making his Grumps suffer, but Rod just finds the whole thing funny and takes the opportunity to threaten Rosa.

Brigitte tries to call the hotel again, but the desk clerk refuses to put the call through.  Brigitte vows she won't let her (sugar) daddy slip through her fingers.

The desk clerk calls the Mushroom Man, but he insists he doesn't want to talk to her.  Basically, this is a huge imposition to him and all he wants is to attend his conference.

Rosa doesn't feel like she can ignore what Rod is doing, despite his threats.  Her first loyalty is to Vicente.

Rosa visits an Internet café the next morning.  She goes to a government website to file an anonymous complaint and thought bubbles that she hopes it works.

Alonso is still in awe over Diego's fifteen minutes of Internet fame.  But, no Natalia hasn't seen it or said anything.  Diego starts reading the comments, since so many viewers have ideas about how he could get Nat back.

Brigitte calls the hotel yet again and can't get through.  She realizes she has to get into the conference if she wants to nab him.  I'm impressed she can spell "neuropsychiatry."  She calls and tries to register, but is told it's sold out.  If she can send in some professional credentials, the nice lady on the phone will see what she can do.  Brigitte has no idea what to do now.

Nat gets an email from Paolo with the link to the video of Diego hanging off the building.  Nat doesn't care who thinks she needs to forgive Diego, she's not doing it.  Seems like Paolo just thought it was funny.  He doesn't push the issue.

Eleazar, in his office with nothing better to do, agonizes over how to win back Carmen.  He doesn't know how to write poetry or songs…but guess who does?  Morales, in his new little office, half-asleep at his computer and unable to find any clues on the case his boss has him working on.  He gets the report of fraud against Rodrigo at Caprico.  It's his job to evaluate the validity of the report.

Hilda catches Lala giving Tiburcio a hand massage and gets the wrong idea.  She doesn't want anybody else rubbing on her viejo!  She kicks Lala out, saying she'll do it herself.  Tiburcio seems to like the massage…or the ladies fighting over him, I'm not sure which.

Morales' new boss comes in to suggest an angle on their current case, which Morales says will take way too long…but here's a new case for them!  The boss thinks anonymous reports are BS, but Morales convinces him this one has merit.

Rosa goes to the hospital, but Rod tells her to go away and not try to talk to any members of his family.  Rosa leaves.

Morales tells Kim about his new case.  He's hoping it will help him "make up" with El, but Kim says he has nothing to apologize to El for.  Morales is hoping Rod will be his "Al Capone."  Kim likes how smart he is, but pouts that he's going back to the office to meet with one of the computer specialists.  "Hey, babe, no fake 'operations' here!  You can call me at the office to check up on me if you want to."  Morales leaves and Kim says that's what she gets for dating cops.

Nat refuses a delivery of plush flowers that I suspect were actually for Carmen, but of course she assumes they MUST be from Diego because the world revolves around her.

Outside, the kid with the flowers takes them back to El and says "she" said she wants nothing to do with anything that comes from him.  He pays the kid and decides to call Carmen so she can tell him why she refused them.  She sees him out by his car and asks what's up with the flowers.

Morales' colleague gives him the address of the Internet café.

El tries to pretend he remembered what he was like when he was drugged, but Carmen recognizes everything he's saying now as what she said to Lupita.

Diego and Irene visited Grumps.  Rod smarmily says the best thing for Grumps would be for him to die.

Carmen smacks El with the flowers and yells at him.  Really, I don't know what she wants anymore.  Sounds like it's for him to be spontaneously romantic, but if El's not a "spontaneously romantic" kind of guy.  He says some pretty words about how he's loved her forever and this is what Carmen wanted, so she rewards him with smoochies.  And then tells him to shut up so they can get back to the smoochies.

Irene and Diego talk about Rod's attitude and congratulate themselves for getting out of Caprico while the getting was good.  Diego's mostly worried about Vicente getting better, and not so much what could happen if he dies.

Lala gives Tiburcio more medicine and Tib shows her how he's getting a little better at moving one finger.  He's also working on his vocal exercises and gets out "si" several times.

Irene and Tad visit Vicente's doctor. He's actually recovering, but not out of the woods.

Lala reports Tiburcio's progress to Alonso.  Alonso passes on the news to Diego.

Irene visits Vicente.  He opens his eyes when she says she doesn't like seeing him like this, in spite of everything.  Vicente reaches for her hand and asks her to forgive him.  "I did you so much harm.  I can't leave in peace without your forgiveness.  I'm dying.  If I do recover, I want to dedicate myself to repairing all the harm I've done you."  Irene says having Nat with her has already started doing her a lot of good and she's remembering the good times more.  Vicente says the truth is that when Irene got to their lives, she really did make them happier.  "I thought you never wanted me." "I've always had a hard time expressing my feelings."  Vicente doesn't want to be the same old ass as always.  He wants to see Natalia and apologize to her, too.

Tomorrow: CarmEl smoochies; Diego whining; Rod's murder attempt interrupted by Nat.

Dear Grumps: Nothing says "I'm sorry" like summoning a lawyer to draw up paperwork to have Rodrigo removed from power.

Amen, Kat! And while he's at it, maybe come clean about how he's robbed them of their inheritance all these years.

Which sick old man will get well soon enough to put a halt to Rod's lucky streak? Tib or Grumps? I couldn't believe Rosa let herself get caught so easily, and that she's not even attempting to talk to Diego or Irene. The more people know, the harder it will be for Rod to hurt her without it looking suspicious. And she doesn't need the job. She said so to Vicente back when he had to beg her to come back to the company.

Loved the quick and breezy recap. This episode seemed like it was set up for future plot advancement.

I'm jealous!! You got some prime Lupita scenes!!!

"Brigitte vows she won't let her (sugar) daddy slip through her fingers." and "I'm impressed she can spell 'neuropsychiatry.'" were great lines.

I don't believe Grumps for a second. I don't trust him and I doubt he's asking for Nat for any kind of reconciliation.

PS: I hope Rosa brings up the will soon.

Right, Vivi...he's got a LOT to make up for and I'm not going to be convinced that he's actually sorry unless he starts making amends.

Lol, Sara, I guess that was the trade-off for not covering the demise of Grumps!

Yes, you had some great Lupita scenes tonight. She had been MIA (or sleeping peacefully) the last few episodes.

Although, you must admit...she even does a great job of sleeping. That kid is my role model!

How stupid is Rosa? All she had to do is take the external drive home and view it on her laptop. Doh!

A lot of her decisions don't make any sense. I guess she just couldn't wait, or had some misguided sense of needing to protect confidentiality by not having sensitive information leave the building.

And the writers needed to come up with more delays before the FIN. ;-P

Thank you so much, 5FT!! I found myself doing other things that had to be done as this episode was running. Of course, I really paid attention when dear little Lupita was talking. I love that child!

Could Rosa have been more obvious?! What in the world?!

Sara, I agree that there were a lot of delaying tactics in this episode. I wish Carmen and El would just figure out what the heck they want.

Fatima

Kat, thanks for your great recap. And yes, Grumps needs to do much more than just apologize for bad behavior from his supposed "deathbed." Removing Rod from having any control over the company would be step #1.

Vivi, you are too funny "
Which sick old man will get well soon enough to put a halt to Rod's lucky streak?" I'm good with either I just need Rod stopped.

I feel the other plot extension was Rosa getting caught and not doing anything with the will. I guess we have to wait until closer to the end for that to happen.

It was great we got so many Lupita scenes.

True, Sara, I guess the Caprico crisis is about the last thing left to resolve. I feel sorry for all the employees who have nothing to do with it but are going to be out of jobs soon.

Fatima, I guess tomorrow we'll get some good Carmen and El loving. If we're lucky it will even last longer than the episode!

Karen, Mr. 5ft is lobbying for Grumps to have Rod thrown in jail, but I think that's way too farfetched.

And yes, how about ME, ME, ME Natalia yelling at that poor little kid who brought the flowers to the door? Even if they HAD been from Diego for her, she didn't have any right to be so rude to the kid! I can't stand her - now I know why Brigitte doesn't like her - it's ALWAYS all about Natalia. LOL

I'm impressed she can spell "neuropsychiatry." Ditto Kat

With everything Rod has done and suspected of doing it baffles me no one thinks to keep an eye on the guy. Oh, we got Rosa providing an anonymous tip, Al, Diego & Lala attempting to rehabilitate Tiburcio and Morales with a sniff but otherwise the dude cruises unabated.

Kimmy - careful what you pray for

Lupita - face time

Nat - I love ME.
You love ME.
I'm loved by a YouTube family.
With a great big hug and a kiss from you to ME.
Let's just say you can't help but love me too.

Brigitte - pretend to be Carmen and suggest a tete a tete

Tiburcio - start talking and the massages stop, mums the word

Carmen - give the guy some slack

Vincente - too little too late

Irene - lettin him off way too easy

Mali - frown turned upside down

Diego - make hay of your 2.5 minutes of fame

Alonso - bla, bla, bla, bla, what?

Another great list, tofie! Nat really has become unlikable.

I'm interested in tonight's events. The avances look promising.

Kat, one of the many reasons I love your recaps is that no matter how grim the subject matter, I always feel better after reading your descriptive recaps, rife with sage comments and wry humor. This was great.

"Nat refuses a delivery of plush flowers that I suspect were actually for Carmen, but of course she assumes they MUST be from Diego because the world revolves around her" and "She gets his consent…well, if we think the deliberate blinking means anything…and wrestles a pill past his clenched teeth" were a few of my favorites.

I am distracted this morning by watching the pigs flying past the windows and processing the news that hell has frozen over. However, these news flashes pale in comparison to the fact Grumps has apologized! And even more astonishing, appears to be genuinely contrite! Well kind hearted Irene may have forgiven him but it will take more than a few words and tears for me to bestow any forgiveness. Harruumph.

It’s fairly obvious to me that Tiburcio would be much better off with Lala! And judging by his happy smile, much happier! Even Diego must be on board as he chose to share his plans with Lala, not Hilda.

And I'm with Karen. I don't care who stops Rod (Tib or Grumps), but please do it. And quickly.

And you are on point Vivi that Rosa should be talking with the "good guys" here. Makes no sense that she would do nothing to protect herself.

Loved the El/Carmen smoochies.

"Tiburcio - start talking and the massages stop, mums the word". Too funny tofie...

Kat, this was excellent.

Diana

Yes! Mr T had the most adoring smile at Lala! Hilda said she was going to be better after his stroke. I'm not seeing much change.

Hildabeast

Gracias 5ft

I knew it! All is forgiven Grumps. Typical TN fare, "I'm sorry" covers all his bad deeds, sending Irenes novio away, having her baby taken away. Not to mention trying to run/ruin everyone's life.
I would have to see him grovel & suffer a bit, make that a lot.

About 50 more episodes to go.

Hildabeast is perfect!

Variopinta, AMEN to that!

Fatima

Hi, 5ft,

I watch the Spanish closed caption thing streaming at the bottom of the picture, and last night they had the B-team running the thing and it was pretty bad, so I am especially thankful for your complete and fun recap.

Vivi, liked your race between the two sick old men to get Rod outed, but from the advances, it may be Nat catching him screwing around with Grump's oxygen.

Agree with Variopinta that more of Grump's misdeeds need to come to light and he has to make restitution rather than just getting forgiveness for merely saying he's sorry.

David

And we still have the will thing out there. I don't believe for a second that this old man is repentant. He's up to something.

Lol, Anon at 3:55, I never really had gotten the selfish vibe from Nat until the recent mass character assassinations, but I had to call it as I saw it last night. That poor kid.

tofie, Hildabeast...word!

Diana, I was expecting Grumps to ask for forgiveness, but not to admit to any wrongdoing, if that makes sense. Whether it's sincere or not, time will tell...if he has time!

Variopinta, if he doesn't die, he'd better suffer! He has a lot more apologies to make and misdeeds to admit to.

David, I was frustrated with the sound last night...lots of background noise and loud footsteps, but the dialogue was spotty. When I turned on Spanish CCs I saw the captioners didn't have a clue what anybody was saying either! Ah, well.

Thanks, 5ft.

Like everyone else , I am disgusted with Grumps asking Irena for forgiveness now that he is dying. Too easy. What a misspent life making your family and everyone near you miserable. Life us too short. I am tired of deathbed reformations.

I am glad that poor old muttering, groaning Tib is getting some attention and some massaging.

I am tired of the revolving door that El and Carmen have been caught in for...how many years ??? In the words of Longfellow , "Make haste; the golden moments fly. " That quote is on a tiny plaque that I look at whenever I walk out of my front door. It is a good reminder not to waste time and to get on with living the life you want to live,

Well, have a good day everyone. Make haste to be happy today.

I didn't think Grumps did near enough to be worthy of any forgiveness, but I did think it was important for Irene to forgive him. Basically what she said to him is that she has no more reason to be bitter since she had her daughter with her. The fact that she was also able to remember some of the very few good times with Vicente, and was able to call him papa again when she entered the room, said to me how far Irene had come in her own personal journey. It was all about Irene in that scene, not Vicente. The wounded woman in immense pain that we met at the beginning of this, is not the same woman we saw last night. So although I rolled my eyes at Grumps asking forgiveness, I was happy for Irene that she has come so far that she is able to give it.

Well, Susanlynn, I'm looking forward to Carmen and El making some...haste...tonight :D

Good point, Vivi. Irene is in a different place. More than apologizing, I appreciated that he said she really did bring them happiness. It sucks he took so long to say it, but I think she needed to hear it.

Should Tad not make it and Irene stands on her own two sober feet, without the faux savior Alonso, she will complete her journey. She will have her hands full trying to rewire her spaz of a daughter.

Viva..Your comment about Irena forgiving Grumps and how she has grown and changed was very insightful. Sometimes, people forgive so that they can heal and move forward, It has been a long, painful, winding road for Irena. Nat is a hot mess right now, but we all know that by the end of this novela , she will be back on track as a terrific human being ..a perfect daughter, wife, sister, etc. Just like in real life...HAHa. I do worry that she has no friends now that Angela has gone nasty and her friend Irene is now her mother ,and there is no way her sister can be her best friend . Girl needs some peeps.

Hilda is profoundly stupid and that's why Diego is entrusting Lala to administer the medicine instead of Hilda, the wife.

Anon207, I think it's more that he didn't trust Hilda because he doesn't think she really wants Tiburcio to get better. Which makes no sense, because neither Diego nor Alonso has been around all the times she's said "Nope, I'm going to stop asking you, because I don't want to deal with what you're going to say."

Crazy day...just getting to the recaps, and this is the only one I've actually seen (crazy night also) BUT love love love Mushroom Man. Makes him sound dank, round, spotty and going to quickly spoilable. Just perfect as Brigette's dad.

Color me a shameless, sentimental noodge, but I teared up when El finally spoke tender romantic words (something about her fragrance being tattooed on his skin etc.) and I loved her face softening and melting as those words touched her heart.

And yep, got weepy again when Grumps acknowledged some of his errors and told Irene the joy she brought to both him and his wife. Yes, it was long overdue. And scant, given the list of his sins. But she was ready to hear it, accept it, forgive it and heal. Vivi was right. It's about Irene. And focusing on what she HAS, not on what she lost. Lots of wisdom there.

Diva, your smart and sassy recaps never disappoint. Nor do the comments. Lots of humor and wisdom today. Thank you all.

Awww, JudyB, you big softie! I remember when El told Cunchetina how he felt about Carmen and she got all hot and bothered. It's about time he said it directly to Carmen. They'd better not mess it up now!

What is Carmen waiting for? El is at her feet, unencumbered and she knows he is going no where. She's gonna fool around and miss again. Doesn't it tell her something, that El works with Lupita in an attempt to pass her test? She fell for all the baby daddies sweet talk and all it got her was abandoned with child. Rooting for her but come on.

This had better be the end of the "Will they or won't they?" and there had better not be an endless series of breaking up and making up. Or, so help me, shins will be kicked!

Tofie- Carmen seemed fully on board last night after El finally expressed with his own words how he feels about her. Tonight looks to be good, but I'm out this evening and don't know which recording I'll choose to watch when I get back.

Yeah, she did but I've seen that movie before. She don't want to get on by bad side again after her rehabilitation in how she handled the Irene thingie. Only thing bothers me about El & Carmen finally hooking up is focus will return to the Nat & Diego a-go-go. How much more of that will we have to endure for 50 episodes.

Actually, there are only 27 episodes to go. Tonight is #158 Mexico of 185 total.

whew, thank goodness. Don't know where I got 50. Oh, wait I do know.

On board...*snicker*....

Thanks 5ft for you always entertaining recap.

Very interesting comments also.
I was touched by the interaction between Irene and Grumps, for Irene's sake. She needed and deserved an apology for closure. It's us in viewersville (including me) that needs to examine his apology sincerity and have him do penance before being worthy of forgiveness.

SusanLynn, 11:29, I loved your comment in defense of Nat. I agree totally. She has my vote.

Variopinta, 50 more episodes, you're kidding right? I was happy the 2 hr epi's ended, but since I'm going to watch "Corazone es Tuyo, I'll still be at the TV 2 hours.

Oh well, for 2 good novella's, I'm gonna do it.

Thanks for your dedication, Foxy :D
